Speaker 1 (00:03):
Two sides to the story. There's only one side to
the facts. Welcome to the Brian Mud Show and thank
you for listening. As we're protecting the Palm Beaches tribute
to those who serve and sacrifice. This is brought to
you by the Good Greek Spiro, Good Greek moving in storage.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
You get to see the good Greek. He'll be back
in here today with frankly speaking. Are our Greek show
on Saturdays with Frank Marangos, So it'll be the Greeks.
Then we got to get the other Greek. We got
to get you know, real radios Greek in the mix.
We'll have the three three Amigos, Three Amigos. To look
(00:41):
at Tool's face, it's pretty amusing. So anyway, as we
take a look at this portion of protecting the Palm
Beach is the weekly tribute to those who have literally
laid down their lives in service to their communities, but
also a reminder to all of us of what is
at risk with those that serve in law enforcement. Every
day they leave their their home, they leave their families
(01:01):
to get to work, they put into badge. They all
know what happens next, and far too often not good things.
You know, last year LED's were up by seventeen percent nationwide.
You had three hundred and forty two officers shot in
the line of duty. In total, we lost one hundred
and sixty seven heroes nationwide, including eight in Florida. And
speaking of officers being shot, unfortunately, this situation out of
(01:23):
Pennsylvania yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
State police say the two troopers, Joseph Parrachynski and William Jenkins,
are in hospitals and stable after responding to the domestic call.
Colonel Christopher Paris said they believed the shooter, Carmine Feino,
to be responsible for the death of a neighbor outside
her home.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Glory Wasco was shot and killed in front of that
residence in the general vicinity of her vehicle.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
After fein no wounded the troopers, negotiations to disarm fe
O failed, According to Colonel Paris.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
He continued to be a threat and he was shot
by members of the Special Emergency Response Team.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
He is deceased.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Yeah, so there you go.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
You have two troopers that were shot.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Thankfully they are in stable condition this morning, as we
do take a look at it, there is some relative
good news here. Of the past week. We have seen
a significant decrease in ld so far this year and
actually have not suffered any lds over the past week.
We have fifty law enforcement professionals that died in the
(02:25):
line of duty this year too in Florida. Without any
new lds this week. I'll take the opportunity to share
the progress. So total LODs for this date are fifty
three percent lower than this time last year. Murders of
law enforcement professionals are twenty one percent lower, and accidental
(02:47):
LODs are forty eight percent lower, So some good progress there. Obviously,
the aim is zero line of duty debts. Just say reminders. Well,
as we always pay how much to those who have
paid the ultimate price, it's important to think about the
families of those that have been left behind. The average
age of fallen officers forty one years old, eleven years
(03:10):
of service. There are thirty one widows and eighty two
children who've lost the parent this year. So it's your reminder.
Back the badge and spread the word, because the Lord
knows that they need us every bit as much as
we need them. We don't have. Sadly, we don't have
many weeks like this.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
I know there have been about three or four this year.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
This is the fourth and you know, I mean we've
had years where we haven't had any so you know,
I'll take the progress, but you're right,
