So we take a look at protecting the Palm Beaches
a tribute to those who serve and sacrifice. A lot
of us have happy Fridays because people make sacrifices at
times the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in
relative peace and.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Safety.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
You know, and the people who put their lives on
the line literally daily they go out there, put on
badly their families, never knowing what might happen next. You know,
we so often see in our society what can go wrong.
Last year, unfortunately, we saw a big increase in LEDs
One of duty deaths. We had three hundred and forty
two officers that were shot last year. That was an
(01:04):
increase of eight percent over the prior year. And in total,
we lost one hundred and sixty five heroes, including eight
in Florida. Now the improved news is that so far
this year the pacing is much lower. Unfortunately, we still
have lost twenty three heroes in line of duty, one
in Florida, including a heroic deputy in Georgia. This a
(01:25):
witness to the situation.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
We were hearing the shots going off, you know, and
then it went silent for a good bit, and then
we heard like five or six more shots go off,
and then it just went completely silent, and the cops
telling us get back that, you know, they didn't know
what was really going on at the moment, just an
active shooter.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Yeah, So in these situations she bore witness to. This
happened to Columbia County, Georgia. Deputy Brandon Sykes was murdered
during the traffic stop for the purpose of serving a
domestic violence protective order. The suspect was initially during the
traffic stop agreed to eggs of the car. However, he
(02:03):
then opened fire, striking two officers. The Brandon's injuries proved fatal.
The other officers shot in the face. He's in the
hospital in critical condition. Suspect was met with return fire
because of you know, the shooting of the two officers.
He was able to flee to his camper. Other responding
(02:24):
officers when they arrived, you know, they saw that he
attempted to flee, but he was found deceased shortly thereaftors
who evidently dying of his wounds, his camper loaded with
pipe bombs, firearms and ammunition. You know, Lord only knows
what was going to come next had Deputy side snots
stepped into the situation. An army veteran Brandon has survived
(02:48):
by his wife and daughter. Now on that note, pey
hodmans to the families left behind, the average age of
the fallen thirty nine years old, ten years of service.
There are fourteen widows and thirty two children. If lost
a parent, weakly remindered to back the badge and spread
the word, because Lord knows they need us just as
much as we need them.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
All right, Well, the governor is celebrating the largest immigration
operation in state history. De Santus announcing yesterday over eleven hundred,
eleven twenty to be exact, criminal illegal aliens caught in
a five day span last week. And that's the largest
number operation tidal wave of course in a single state
in one week in ICE's history. A bill intended to
keep golf courses, resort style lodges, and sports facilities from

being built in state parks like Jonathan Dickinson and Hope
Sound heads to the Governor's desk. It was heralded by
State Senator Gail Harrol out of the Treasure Coast Brian
