We dropped the violent crime by sixty five percent and
murdered by seventy.

Yeah, much better day for New York than what you
see these days. Right, so Bernie passing away at sixty
nine yesterday, Gilianni called him his best friend. And so
as we take a look at what has happened with
those serving, it's always important to put in context what
people sacrifice every day. Those that put on the badge

that their families go to work never know what might happen,
and unfortunately, far too often, for a long time it's
been something really awful. In a line of duty dance
rose by seventeen percent last year. We had a total
of one hundred and sixty five heroes we lost in
the line of duty last year, eight in Florida, and
you also had three hundred and forty two officers that

were shot in the line of duty last year. That
was an increase of eight percent. Now the much better
news as we see where we stand so far this year,
the rate much lower.

We have lost twenty seven law enforcement professionals in the
line of duty this year, one in Florida. Now obviously
any more than we ever want to see, but that
is obviously a lot lower on a rate basis. We
have lost these heroes though. Since the previous update. In
South Carolina, Deputy Nathaniel Ansey was killed in the head

on collision while he was on patrol. In Ohio, Deputy
Daniel Sharrar was murdered while responding to a domestic dispute.
Upon arriving on the scene, man fired on Daniel, killing him.
Suspect was injured with return fire captured by responding deputies.
He's been charged with aggravate and murder the suspect and

as we are remembering those that have laid down their
lives in service. Important to remember the families as well.
The average age of the fallen thirty nine, ten years
of service, and there are fifteen widows and thirty seven
children who have lost a parent. It's your reminder to
back the badge and spread the word, because Lord knows

that we need them every bit as much as they
need us.

All right, let's get a look at you. Florida headlines
Miami federal judge delaying a decision on whether to hold
Florida Attorney General James Upmeyer in contempt of court for
violating her ruling in an illegal immigration case. Obama appoint
t US District Judge Kathleen Williams Hurt arguments yesterday regarding
up Meyer's violation of her temporary restraining order to stop
enforcing a new state law making it a crime for

illegal immigrants to enter Florida after illegally crossing into the US.
After her order in April, the Attorney General sent a
letter to law enforcement across the state to continue assisting
ice and a crackdown on illegal immigration. Dozens of illegal
immigrants arrested at a Tallahassee construction site. Federal agents and
FHP troopers arrested over one hundred people yesterday. The illegals

are from South and Central America. Homeland Security plue, Oh yeah,
that's true, and they're humans. As we heard. One person
only was tracked down by a reporter. Homeland Security says
some of them were previously deported and have criminal records.
Still human. The suspects were helping build new apartments near
Florida State University. A Coast Guard crews have been busy
offloading more than two hundred and eleven million dollars worth

of drugs at Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale in the Hall,
the result of four indictions in the Eastern Pacific over
the past few weeks. We're in thirty three thousand pounds
of drugs that will not make it to the streets.
Local member of Congress may have broken federal law. The
House Ethics Committee releasing a report into Democrat Congresswoman Sheila
Sheffalis McCormick, finding probable cause that she accepted campaign contributions

linked to an official action nor contributions. And the Panthers
know who they will play in the Stanley Cup Final,
same team they beat last year the Edmonton Oilers. Wednesday
eight pm begins the Stanley Cup Final.
