Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Brian Musho podcast is driven by Brayman Motor Cars.
My family is a Brayman Motor Cars family. Your family
should be to visit Braymanmotorcars dot com. Faith Freedom in Florida.
This is the Brian Mudshow. Hello, Can Socks and Corrypto
(00:23):
Currencies go. My first role money is.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
It is never let your money in emotions cross paths.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Sure enough, because what you want is more, not less,
especially when you're investing. Yet over ninety percent of the
time people jump in and out day time markets. They
you know, take a look at Liberation Day and they
hit the panic sell button because people are freaking out
around what happened if you hit that sell button when
things were already down after Liberation Day? Now what happened
(00:51):
if you if you're like, this looks like an awfully
attract to buy an opportunity, you tell me, you know,
you know at this point, because we closed last week
at record highs, stocks ending higher with both the Nasdaq
and s and P five hundred notching record highs on
rate cut and trade deal optimism. There you go. And
(01:12):
also the BBB was by the end of the week
look and more promising and so all that leading to
record highs. So yeah, you had really big wins if
you're investing in the into the selling after Liberation Day
in April. We had four percent across the board gains
for stocks last week. Dallas and P five hundred, NASAK,
They're all anywhere three to five percent higher on the year.
(01:35):
Just an incredible week and incredible run. But we had
historical success. We had success in crippling Iron's nuclear program
the end of that war. You had President Trump success
in getting NATO countries except for Spain, to spend five
percent their GDP on defense spending. You have all kinds
of excellent economic news that has been shaping up out there,
(01:58):
and yes, the one big beautiful Act in addition to
some of the trade deals. So that is what has
spurred it. Now take it bok at crypto. So it
was a really good week as well for digital currencies
and Bitcoin yet again leading based upon your token, you're
the leading tokens up anywhere five to eight percent last week.
Although Bitcoin just far and away the best performance on
(02:19):
the year, it's up, it's fifteen percent higher on the year.
Ether is still twenty seven percent lower on the year,
while the bit ysetf to represents the top ten cryptos
is up three percent year today. Now I can't provide
any value analysis for cryptos because they have no inherent value.
I can for stocks because they do. Using the S
and P five hundred as the benchmark. If only fundamentals
(02:40):
and nothing else mattered, your maximum downside risk from where
we sit right now forty five percent. That is two
percent more risk than last week because stock prices rose
faster than fundamentals. It is still three percent less risk
than at the absolute peak of this cycle. Now, do
I think we're going to get to forty five percent
sell off? No? Is it possible in theory. So let's
(03:01):
just say it happened if it wouldn't negatively impact your
life day to day over the short run. Okay, cool,
You're probably in good shape if it would, time for
a new plan, if necessary, a pro to help you
with it.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
All right, Good morning, let's go to look at you.
Florida headlines with President Trump expected to visit the new
illegal immigration detention center in the Everglades nicknamed Alligator Alcatraz
based on FAA flight restrictions in the area. Trump will
be at the opening tomorrow. Facility games to house as
many as five thousand illegal immigrants and has sparked protests
like one on Saturday. Florida doing away with some sales
(03:33):
tax holidays instead, and this new budget that will take
effect tomorrow, the state offering exemptions that will be available
year round. Now this is aside from the back to
school sales tax holiday that will still take place in August,
but these exemptions year round will include hurricane and disaster
prep items and things like life jackets, bicycle helmets, sunscreen,
and insect repellents, among others. Senator Rick Scott is, in
(03:55):
his words, very confident his proposal to change Medicaid funding
will pass. He wrote on Next Yesterday about his amendment
to the One Big Beautiful Bill, which will be taken
up during this morning so called Vodherama in the Senate.
Scott proposing phasing out the ninety percent match for Medicaid
expansion for those who became eligible under Obamacare. And the
Wimbledon tennis tournament will get underway today at Florida Native
(04:17):
One of those favored on the women's side, Delray Beaches
Cocoa Golf seated second after winning the French Open last month,
and she begins play tomorrow. On the men's side, the
top Floridian is Ben Shelton, a former uf Gator, seated tenth.
He'll also plays first match tomorrow. Bryant
