Speaker 1 (00:03):
The news you need to start your day, and the
bomb beach is pack the treasure Ghost. This is the
Brian mud Show. Yeah, sure enough is as we take
a look at the weekly edition in the first in
twenty twenty six of Hello can stocks and cryptocurrencies go?
My first rule of money.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Is it is never let your money in emotions cross.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Paths, exactly right, because we don't want you to lose it.
We want you to take advantage of the greatest wealth
creation machining in the history of the world, which by
the way, happens to be your United States stock market.
And on that note, it was another remarkable year last year.
Just to put things in perspective, though, over ninety percent
of the time that people jump in and out try
to time investments markets, they do worse. And if they

(00:44):
just date the course with their original investments. And so
that's what I try to keep you from doing, is
guessing and making mistakes. We tend to be our own
worst enemies. And when you take a look at the
big three indexes and the stock market with reinvested dividends
the now of fifteen percent last year S and P
five hundred and seventeen percent gains Nazak twenty one percent,

(01:05):
and we had another pretty good start to the new year.
Fox's Hillary Barski with where we ended things on Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
At choppy training session, with the major averages ending the
first trading day of the new year mixed as risk.
Appetite appears to be returning to Wall Street semiconductor stocks,
including Nvidia, Intel, and Micron Advance, as did some other
artificial intelligence names. In chairs of furniture sellers like urh
Wayfair and william Sonoma gained after the Trump administration delayed

(01:33):
tariff increases on upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Okay, so yeah, you take a look at what happened
to start the year, there is likely to be some
additional optimism. We had. Not only things work out better
last year than had it been anticipated, the tariff fears overblown,
economy growing much faster than anticipated, inflation lower than expected. Well,

(02:00):
now you can take a look at some of the
big issues they are going to be in focus. The
Venezuela factors in guess what lower energy price is going forward.
In Venezuela only is the largest reserve of oil in
the world, but they only produced less than a thirteenth
of what the United States does. If they get online
in a big way, then you're going to be able
to see so much more supply, so much lower prices

(02:22):
sustained in the oil market, So that can be something
to keep an eye on. Then you take a look
at Congress, so the January thirtieth funding deadline, and focus
early this year as you could have another partial government shutdown.
Of course, the COVID or ACA subsidies have now lapsed.
Senator Rick Scott has proposed the more Affordable correct. All

(02:44):
these things worth watching here in the early weeks this year.
Now you take a look at what happened with stock's
great year, not so for cryptos. They were the big
under performers last year. Bitcoint off seven percent, Ether off
ten percent for the year, Bill yeztoff the top ten
cryptos all four percent. Overall, Gold and silver the big beneficiaries.

(03:06):
Record runs for both of those commodities, record high prices
as more people traded into them and out of cryptos.
I can't provide any value analysis for cryptos or for
precious metals because they don't have inherent value. But I
can for sax because they do using the S and
P five hundred as the benchmarket falling fundamentals and nothing
else mattered, the maximum downside risk from where we sit

(03:27):
is forty eight percent. That is pretty much where we've
been for a while now. And now, Do I think
we're going to see that kind of sell off even
if we had a correction? No? Is it possible in theory.
So let's just say it did happen. If it wouldn't
negatively impact you in the day to day, great, you're
probably in good shape. If it was time for a
new plan, if necessary, a pro to help you with
that plan.
