Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to the Brian Mud Show. It's the info you
need to start your day in the bomb Beaches and
the Treasure Coast. Let's talk about how much DOGE has
saved you. It was kind of like an oh, by
the way thing. One thing this partial government shut down
led to me doing a couple of days ago, was
taking on a DOZE stuff. I used DOGE information in
my takeaways yesterday and I went to I went to
(00:25):
the DOE site. OHM like, oh my gosh, they've done
stuff since I was last year in June.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, we really hadn't heard from DOZE in a while.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
No, I mean after Elon was gone. I did check
for like two weeks straight after Elon and Big Balls
were gone and no changes. And I'm like, okay, so
I stopped. I stopped going, but I went there to
get all the information. I'm like, oh my gosh, they're
still doing stuff. So let me give you an idea.
This is what DOGE has done. As of today, we
are now up to two hundred and six billion dollars
(00:53):
in savings by DOGE across twenty two impacted federal government agencies.
They are over twenty nine thousand, one hundred initiatives that
have been eliminated, the progress towards the minimum goal of
five hundred billion in savings that Elon laid out forty
one percent of the way there. Who knows I actually
get there yet. But here's the most instructive point, the
(01:14):
savings per federal taxpayer. How much has DOSEE saved you? Well,
now we're now up to one thousand, two hundred and
seventy nine dollars and fifty cents. And as reminder, DOZE
does have a mandate to remain in place until July
fourth of next year. So that is all part of
(01:34):
what DOGE is still doing. And of course this partial
government shutdown provides the opportunity to do some serious DOZE
work at President Trump will make a lot of these
furloughs permanent, as he is at least suggested he might do.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
All right, it's in Florida headlines all that partial shutdown
in effect and Republicans and Democrats blaming each other. Republican
Congress and Brian mass calling it the Schumer shutdown represents,
of course, to Democrats, Senator Chuck Schumer, Congress from Lowis
Frankel blames a shutdown on Republican recklessness. I meanwhile attempts
to end the shutdown. Will have to wait. Senate observing
yam kidpoor today won't meet again until tomorrow. Also observing
(02:12):
yam kidpoor. School for most of our area. No school
for kids in Palm Beach through Saint Lucy counties. Also,
of course south to Broward, Indian River does have a
regular school day today. By the way, Brian, they call
it a fall holiday, similar to the winter break for
the Christmas time.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yay, you can't have any religion in Florida's thank you,
Department of Education.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Florida's SAT scores show improvement, but still trail national numbers
and are substantially lower than pre pandemic scores. Florida's increase
in twenty twenty five follows four years of declining scores
in the state. The average SAT score in Florida nine
to seventy out of the perfect sixteen hundred. That reflects
a twenty two point improvement over twenty twenty four's numbers,
(02:55):
and Amazon's going to launch drone deliveries in Florida by
the end of the year. Service will operate from adams
On's Ruskin Fulfillment Center in Tampa Bay those are some headlines.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
It reminds me eighty eight percent of the Department of
Education is furloughed right now
