Speaker 1 (00:03):
Face Freedom, Florida. This is the Brian Mud Show. How
often do you question yourself? Are you doubting yourself right now?
Look on Joel's face?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yes, maybe I'm just thinking about how many decisions at
this point in your day age Ald you already doubt
Hobaby six. So if you spend a lot of your
day wondering why I just do that, and then maybe
wondering why am I about to do what I'm about
to do, You're not alone a lot of folks. There's
a recent study that was done two thousand adults, and

(00:40):
they were studied for their decision making, how they go
about it, and how much time they spend worrying about it.
The first thing that I found pretty interesting, how many
decisions do you think the average person makes a day? Yeah?
I was thinking that number would be no more than
fifteen or so. Yeah, and maybe in terms of things
that you can really remember, like oh I chose to
do that, because a lot of stuff is kind of

(01:02):
second nature decision making. But fifty the average person will
make fifty decisions in a day, And what percentage of
those decisions are questioned by us? Forty one percent? So
the average person spends time questioning at least twenty things
they do a day. And one of the examples cited

(01:25):
to kind of highlight how this manifests itself a grocery store. So,
for example, twenty seven percent of adults just feel overwhelmed
naturally going into a grocery store because there are a lot
of decisions to make in there. Then you have thirty
six percent of people that experience what is defined as
aisle anxiety. What is ale anxiety is you feel pressured,

(01:49):
maybe there are people around you. You don't want to
feel like you're standing in somebody's way or standing in
one place for too long, and so then you start
making decisions you're uncertain about based upon Now I've got
to move on. What about it? Thinking about somebody's judging
you for what you're getting? Could be that too right?
Is that fat? You really getting those cookies?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
You know?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Something like that. I take it this has been a
consideration that you've brought up against. It's a very specific example. No, okay,
So anyway, the survey also found that we spend a
lot more time researching the food and grocery stores than
we used to as well. And some of that's good,

(02:29):
but some of that also leads to the anxiety. So anyway,
if it sounds familiar, the good news is you've got
a lot of company.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Obviously.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
The upshot here is also if you can figure out
how to become more decisive. I can get intentional about decisiveness.
Think about how much more time you would have that
would be focused on maybe things that would be less
stressful to you were perhaps more productive as well.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
So there you go, give me the cookies, bookie. There
we go.
