Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are just six days away from election day, and
Florida's Senator Rick Scott in West Palm Beach today. Senator,
thanks for taking the time with us. Tell us what
you have going on in our area.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'm to be going to the Palm Beach GUP headquarters.
We're going to go I'm gonna do an early voting
stop doing a rally there. We've got a big Hispanic
outreach event later today I'm down I'm meeting with the
group with regard to anti Semitism, but at Stanton, Miami.
But we're going to be at Don Ramon Restaurant, restaurant
a Cubano.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
That's one of my favorite places. Actually, it's a great place.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Yeah, rally, press conference with Republican platinos of Pombach County.
As you know, I've got Puerto Ricans for Rick Scott.
I've gottations for Rick Scott. I've got Cubans Rick Scott,
i got Ben Switzerland for rig Scott, at Guadorians for
Rick Scott, Brazilians for Work Scott, and the Karaguans for Scott.
I'm sure I'm forgetting somebody, but we got all these
groups because guess what they want to live our dream

(00:55):
if they come here and they'd like to get democracy
back in the country that they came from. Shocking.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Yeah, you know, I've always said one day South Florida
would save this country from itself, because there are so
many people that know what real socialism is, that know
what dictators do and do not want that to happen
in this country and identify it within a particular political party.
Certainly seems as though we are are kind of seeing
the impact of that as we are having more and

(01:24):
more Hispanics trend towards the GOP. Tell us a little
bit about that.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I think I think you're right. I think they're going
to say this like' you can't make this up. I'm
running form I'm running. My opponent is a socialist. She
was AOC's best friend in the in the in the House,
she wrote with Nancy Pelosi one hundred percent of the time.
So she's a socialist from Miami. How you God grew Earth?

(01:51):
Do you think you're going to win an election in
a place where in a state where people say, I
think we like our freedoms here, we don't like what
when that's going on Cuba in Venezuela, Nicaragua. We don't
like like it when they take away free speech in Brazil.
So if you it's just it's hard to believe. But
here's what they do, right, here's what they do. They lie,

(02:13):
they live out, you know, like I submdy I saw
I think a call marks quote said the other day.
Accuse them of what you're doing. They'll confuse them like
I mean with That's how they we lost Venezuela because
they elected Chavez and then he, you know, turned the
country into a dictatorship. We gotta we got to stop

(02:33):
this in this country. We got to stop this stuff.
This unbelievable government take over our entire lives. That's what
this is. I want my freedom. You know what, there's
I grow up in public housing. I have a single mom.
You know what she told me, Thank god you live
in America. You're the luckiest shit in the world because
you can be anything you want to be. That's our country.
I don't want this country where they say, well, you

(02:54):
can't do this, you can't do this, you can't do this,
she can't do this, she can't do this. That's exactly
what the Demmocrats want. I don't want that. I want
to have my chance to live the dream. If I
can't do it, it's my fault. It's because I didn't
work my butt off. I want people to go back
to work. I want their kids get a great education.
I want people live in safe communities. You do that
to a giving people freedom, But on the ballot is

(03:17):
freedom versus socialism. I'm going to go for.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Freedom and Senator to your point, your challenger, Debbie Muchersel Palell.
She was a one term member of the House of
Representatives from Miami and ended up losing her reelection bid
in large part because she was to the left of
where Miami had been trending. And certainly you take a
look at Florida's political trends. Want to ask you about

(03:43):
something now. You know, early voting has been historic so
far for the Republican Party, but a big part of
the trend towards the right in recent years in the
state of Florida hasn't necessarily been the reddest parts of
Florida becoming redder, but actually the big blue counties traditionally
in the state of Florida becoming progressively less blue. You know,

(04:04):
you're in the Palm Beaches today if you go back
four years ago, early voting, Democrats were leading Republicans by
twenty three points heading into election day. As of today,
that is down to about five points for Democrats. You're
in Miami later today Miami Dade Republicans have out voted

(04:27):
Democrats through the combination of vote by mail and early voting.
I've never seen that before. So you're what do you
make of these trends? And how also in South Florida,
but also a lot of the blue counties across the state,
how they're becoming less blue.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Absolutely. I think here's what happened. I think in twenty ten,
I got a left through his governor when there were
five und sixty thousand more Democrats Republicans, And I think
what's happened then with big Republicans have been elected all
across the state. People say, you know what, Republican governorship,
Republican senators, Republican House members, Republican school board members. They

(05:06):
set my values better. And so what's happened is people say,
and they say, I'm going to vote because they represent
my values. You know what. They have a belief in God,
they care about my life, they care about my job,
they care about my kids' education, They want to live
in a safe community. So I think what's happened is
people say, you know what, I don't want open borders.

(05:28):
That's what these guys on the left, these Democrats want
to do. I don't want high inflation. That's what these
guys are doing. And so I think it's a choice
people are making. People are making a conscious choice about
what type of governors they want. Like I tell people,
go vote, like I love you to vote for me, right,
but if you like, if you want, if you believe

(05:49):
that government dictating everything that works, well, first off, it doesn't,
and you probably ought to move to move to a
country like got to move to Cuban check it out
for a few years or Venezuela and see what happens
when government makes all the decisions. But people are smart
in hey, this republican and this Republican way of running

(06:10):
our government works better for me.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
You know, Senator, in twenty sixteen, you a a known
Trump supporter, would have been a deplorable most recently, I
suppose you're garbage. Yeah, do you do you more closely
identify as deplorable or garbage? Or you know, we I
guess we could just go as like deportable garbage.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I know it's it's you know you want I don't
give about democrats. Why don't they Why don't we talk about,
here's a better way to get in place under control? Right,
let's argue it. Which would you be bigger government are
smaller government balanced by you? Which is a better way
to share kids? School choice or government run schools? Let's
I mean, let's have that argument. Which is a better

(06:55):
way to keep your family safe? Have an open border
where we let anybody and the brother come in, or
we vet people before they come in. Let's have that fight.
But guess what the Democrats don't want to do that.
They don't they don't want to say our way of
life is better, even if you look at it now,
a lot of them that are losing in the Senate,
they're actually like they were friends of Trump. I like

(07:16):
some to take trade policies, and boy that Trump was
he was doing the right thing on the border. Well
then why did all these Democrats in the Senate vote
against all the everything Trump ever wanted to do? But
they what they know is the public wants us to
start doing the right things. Balance the budget, take care
of American jobs, You know, secure the border, get out

(07:37):
of forever wars, scare the crap out of our enemy,
so they don't ever ever try to create a wars.
I mean, that's what we ought to do. That's what
Trump did. So I think, I think that it's really
but it's exciting. It's exciting. Here's why I tell people
go vote. I mean, here's why. If you got the
ballot and go get that ballot voted, if you got,

(08:00):
if you if you're going to vote, if you haven't
voted yet and you will, and if you're ready to vote,
go vote, because here's here's what happens. We're going to
put a lot of effort to get you to go
out and vote. And so some of that is going
to be our volunteers. Some of that is we're going
to put effort into finding all of our voters. In
twenty eighteen to when the election, I had to get
more votes and Ted Cruz had to get in Texas

(08:21):
and Texas had about eight million more people. That's how
hard this state was. So I'm very optimistic. But guess
what it all comes out. It doesn't matter what a
poll says. All the poses said I was going to
lose in all my prior races. It matters what the
voters say. So we got to get the voters to go,
you know, go, you know, go vote, and can you

(08:42):
know you have to come come to some of our
rallies and stuff. And I love to meet. I love
meeting people. I've not better. I've shaking hands with eight
hundred and fifty thousand people, my and my two governors,
you know, my time and two governors you know, for
eight years as governor and fix years of this. I
love meeting people, hear their stories.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
I feel a lot more that's going to be taking
place today and we'll look forward to it. And also
the final few days here of the campaign. Appreciated.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Senator alright, take care, have a good day. Bye bye,
