Speaker 1 (00:04):
Faith Freedom Florida.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
This is the Brian Mud Show. We got a lot
that has been doing in Washington despite the partial government shutdown.
Our White House correspondent John Decker's been all over it.
And aside from the tariff case before the United States
Supreme Court a couple of days ago that John was
in the Supreme Court for that we discussed yesterday. Had

(00:28):
the President make it a couple of big announcements yesterday,
one on the Abraham Accords, another on prescription drug prices.
John has the latest for us. Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Well, that's right, that was an announcement that surprised some people.
The two most popular weight loss drugs in America will
now be cheaper thanks to a deal that the Trump
administration has struck with two companies that produce that manufacture
those two very popular weight loss drugs, Eli Lilly and

(00:59):
Nova Disc, a Danish company, also promise from Eli Lilly
to move more of its manufacturing to the United States.
So a little bit of a two for one for
the President yesterday with that announcement in the Oval Office
on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
And that comes after a recent announcement with AstraZeneca as well,
So you can see the president kind of moving through
these major pharmaceutical companies looking to get better drug pricing
in the United States, as you mentioned, also more manufacturing
in the US and away from China, which has been
a big concern of his as well. And then you
kind of look at the broader implications. You know, from

(01:36):
a political context, John, you've had even some of the
right who have been a little bit concerned that affordability
concerns still the top concerns among Americans, and the President
have been spending a lot of time currying, you know,
foreign deals, international deals, working on foreign policy. He's had
success with it, but it doesn't necessarily help with affordability.
You can kind of see the President re aiming here

(01:58):
to try to focus more of those issues that impact people.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Well. Absolutely, you know that is a number one issue
for voters. We saw that in the Tuesday election. Hard
to believe, Brian, that's just a few days ago, what
happened on Tuesday. But you know already now that's in
the past, it's in the rear view mirror. Republicans and
Democrats both looking ahead to the midterm elections next year,
trying to find that sweet spot that appeals to voters

(02:27):
in terms of gaining control or keeping control of Congress.
So this is one of those issues that the President
has focused on, affordability of focusing on prescription drug prices
and bringing them down. It's a great issue, you know,
I think for any president, Republican or Democrat. I don't
know what kind of residents it has with voters. Certainly

(02:49):
for some who noticed the prices that they're paying going down,
but not for all, and so that is something that
the President and Republicans need to be made aware.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Ofords Kazakhstan coming into the fold, tell us about this, well.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Kazakhstan, let me explain here. Kazakhstan has had diplomatic relations
since with Israel since the breakup of the Soviet Unions,
so nothing new on that front. But what the White
House is saying is that this potentially could give momentum
for more countries that may not have diplomatic relations with
Israel to come into the fold. And of course, what

(03:28):
the Trump administration has always been shooting for is trying
to get Saudi Arabia to sign on to the Abraham Accords.
That is a way off of Saudi Arabia has always
insisted on a two state solution before they will come
into the Abraham Accords, and we know, based upon what
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said, he is not

(03:50):
right now as things stand for a two state solution
and independent Palestinian state.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
We have heard the Republicans are offering up new potential
resolutions for the partial government shutdown, new timelines, maybe some
new provisions for some one offs things like the VA
and that. What are you seen, what are you hearing?
Any expectations heading into this weekend with the air traffic
that is going to be a mess.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Well, it is going to be a mess. I feel
for anybody who's traveling now or any time leading up
to and including Thanksgiving, because we know that there will
be impacts related to the shutdown on air travel. The
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has already said that, Andys also
said Brian, things are going to get worse. So keep

(04:38):
that in mind as it relates to a vote that
will take place in the Senate today. That's what John
Stuone has indicated. I think it really depends what's contained
in that agreement as to whether or not you're going
to get more Democrats to sign on to a continuing resolution.
The Continuing Resolution has been extended, meaning that the government
would remain open and would remain funded through some time

(05:00):
in January. Of course, that is not what the House
has already agreed to. So whatever the Senate agrees to
in terms of the changes that they're making to the CR,
it would then have to go back to the House
and the House would have to sign on to that.
So this process is going to be extended. Where now
in I believe day thirty eight of the government shutdown,
and it looks like for sure we're headed to another

(05:22):
week of the government shutdown beginning on Monday.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
John phen omenal coverage has always hope you have a
wonderful weekend.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
YouTube Brian, have a great weekend. I'll talk to you
next week for sure. Bye bye
