Speaker 1 (00:04):
Faith, freedom, Florida. This is the Brian mud Show, all right.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
So I want to share something with you I share
with me earlier this week. It was a pretty neat thing.
It starts out by saying congratulations on serving thirty years
as a White House correspondent through six administrations. You played
an important role in empowering Americans with fair and accurate information.
I commend you for your three decades of helping our
citizens better understand the issues that impact their daily lives.

(00:33):
Be honesty with which you cover the White House is admirable.
Your leadership and experience in the briefing room is so appreciated.
As you know, my administration is the most transparent in history,
and it's been a tremendous honor working with you as
a member of the press through our unprecedented success. Of course,
there are many reporters covering the White House in far
too many lawyers in its hollowoods halls, but you are

(00:54):
the only person who can claim both roles. Very impressive.
Whether as a reporter, law you're or even professor. You're
well respected by all your colleagues, and that is the
most important praise of all. Milania, and I sent our
best wishes for continued success in the White House Press Corps,
and pray you and your family will have health and
happiness in the years ahead. Congratulations again, and I am

(01:18):
proud to say you, John Decker, are not fake news
that a letter from the President of the United States
to you on your thirty years as a White House correspondent.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Congratulations, Hey, thanks a lot, Fronya.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
That means a lot. That means a lot to me
coming from the President, and I thought it was a
very nice letter. I think, you know, if I was
writing it myself, I don't even think I could do
as good a job as the President did with that letter.
And it's nice to know that he appreciates the work
that I do because I put a lot of work
into making certain that when I report it's fair, it's accurate,

(01:58):
it's unbiased. That's what I've done for the past thirty years.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
And what's interesting to note is you know and about
the President too, and you hear a lot of his
personality in that as well.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
But you guys have had some dust ups here and there.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I mean, it's not like you know, he's always loved
your line of questioning or anything.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
But obviously he's respected it.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Well, yeah, that's right. And the interesting thing, and I
think the good thing about President Trump is that every
day is literally a new day. He wipes the slate clean.
So if you had it as you put it a
dust up, you know, on Tuesday, on Wednesday, I'm still
getting called on first by the President and I think
that shows you know, how special he is in that regard.

(02:40):
There are lots of presidents that I've covered that don't
have that same attitude, and you know, you can imagine
which presidents I'm talking about, but with President Trump. With
President Trump, that's not the case. And I think that's
a special attribute that he has.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
That's not the only recognition. You're getting.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Pretty incredible recognition that's coming up with this Swedish government
as well.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
The Swedish ambassador to the US, who's become a good friend.
On November the thirteenth, is going to hold a celebration
in my honor at the Swedish Embassy to mark my
thirty years covering the White House. And what a great honor.
You know, it's so nice that he and the embassy
are doing that for me, and it means a lot.

(03:25):
I've been to Sweden a number of times. It's a
beautiful country, and they're great people, and they too have
a free press, and that's something that I value and
I know you do too, Brian.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Good doubt, And you know, speaking of foreign affairs, obviously
this week, you know the hallmark the peace accord signed
on Monday in Egypt. Obviously it's never going to be
easy making this transition with Hamas to a new government.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
What's your read on this situation at this point?

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, phase one was difficult. I mean, look how long
it took to get just to phase one, and phase
two will be more difficult. But I really do, honestly
believe that there was only one president that could have
done what the President did in getting to phase one
and getting both sides to agree to end the fighting
in Gaza, and that's Donald Trump. And the reason being

(04:14):
is because of the strong relationship that he has had
and has with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the
very strong relationships that he has in the Muslim and
Arab world that put pressure on a mask to sign
on to this deal. But now the tough work begins
in terms of the next stage of this peace agreement,
and that it includes disarming Hamas, and the President recognizes

(04:38):
that's a difficult thing, but he indicated when asked this
week by the press that this will happen. This will
happen as it relates to the peace agreement that he
helped put together.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
And of course today the President meeting with President Zelenski
of Ukraine as they try to figure out how to
deal with with Putin.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Well, that's right, President Lensky at the White House today,
a day after the President had a lengthy phone conversation
with President Putin, the President indicating that he'll meet with
President Putin in just about two weeks time period in Budapest, Hungary.
And this is now the new focus for the president

(05:18):
in terms of ending a conflict, a long conflict, the
war in Ukraine, and hopefully the meeting that the President
has with Zelenski, the meeting that the President will have
with President Putin leads to a ceasefire, leads to an
end in fighting. It's been going on for such a
long time since, if I'm not mistaken, February of twenty

(05:41):
twenty two. And you know, this is an instance in
which if there's anybody that could end this war, it
is President Trump.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Well, It's an honor to call you a friend and
to have you as our White House correspondent. Continued success,
Jean best wishes.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Rian. Thanks for having me on today, really appreciate it.
Have a great day and a great weekend, and we'll
talk to you real soon
