Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome to the Brian Mutshell.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It's the info you need to start your day in
the Bomb Beaches and the Treasure Coasts. We are tracking
Trump to get a look of all of President Trump's
executive orders and the President he had this to say
before heading to Michigan yesterday.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
We've done everything or it's in the process of being done.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
And no kidding, I mean you did have one hundred
and forty three executive order signed through this first one
hundred days, compared to two hundred and twenty that he
signed during the entirety of his first one hundred and
sixty two during the Biden administration. I mean, it really
has been a historic base in terms of the amount
of executive action that's been taking place, as.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Somebody has been covering it every step of the way.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Our White House correspondent John Decker, who ended up traveling
with the President yesterday aboard Air Force one two Warren
Michigan for his rally his one hundredth day rally.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Good morning, John, Hey.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Good morning to you, Brian. Hope you're doing well today. Yeah,
busy day yesterday for the president's one hundredth day in office.
Busy day today. He has a cabinet meeting. He'll be
meeting with some executives as well, corporate executives as well
at the White House. So keeping up that face, Brian,
and I don't expect it to slow down anytime soon.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yeah, Trump. He had done rallying in a while.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
His dance moves still vintage, had not lost a step
in this old jake yet that going, and certainly the
rockets crowded. It very much felt like kind of, you know,
an election style rally. Even said he kind of missed it.
What are your takeaways from what went down yesterday?

Speaker 3 (01:46):
Well, that's right, you know. So the President started off
his visit to Michigan with a visit to the air
station that he flew into Selfridge, and there he actually
gave a shout out to Michigan Democratic governor. I thought
it was really interesting to see the dynamic between the
two of them mutual respect, and you know, I think

(02:07):
that's good politically for Michigan's Democratic governor. But in any case,
moving from there to the campaign rally. And you know
those folks that showed up in Warren, Michigan for that
campaign rally Macomb County, they waited hours to see the president,
and you know I spoke to a number of them.
They were not disappointed in any way. The President spoke

(02:27):
I think for well over an hour and twenty minutes,
just keeping up that energetic level and ticking through some
of the accomplishments that he's had over the course of
his one hundred days in office of the second term.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
And you take a look at it, he's certainly spent
a lot of time on the border. He put out
fac sheets yesterday about that. You certainly, if you're going
to take a look at all of the executive action
that's been taken, the biggest change, without a doubt, I
believe has happened there. I mean could see, you know,
could see that begin to turn a bit with the
tariff situation based upon what's going to happen here, but
also worked yesterday. Hey, now we're on the precipice of

(03:01):
a deal with India, which would be a you know,
a big development as well. You're you're note about Governor
Whitmer is interesting for a couple of reasons. I think one,
she came to the event, she spoke at it as well.
You know, she recently had been to the White House,

(03:23):
visited the President in the of office, had the interesting
like I'm covering my face with a binder moment. But
that notwithstanding, you have most Democrats that are like, look,
you know, Trump is the boogeyman kind of thing, and
he's still the bad orangeman. And here you have somebody
who could be a leading Democrat contender going forward, I
mean maybe for the presidency in twenty twenty eight, who

(03:43):
is not shying away from the president. And your inference
there seems to be one that it could be a positive.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, well, I do think it's a positive. You know
for Democrats who just you know, want to be never
Trumper's that's all well and good. You know, if you
want to win your district, but you know, if you
want to want to win a statewide election in a
blue state or in a purple state, you know you
have to reach out, reach out, which is what a
governor Whitmer has done. It's the reason why she's been

(04:12):
a successful governor. And I think it's one of the
lessons for any Democrat out there about how to deal
with President Trump specifically, and if you're looking out for
your home state, if you're a public servant looking out
for your home state, wouldn't you want to have a
good relationship with the federal government. Wouldn't you want to
have a good relationship with the President of the United States,

(04:33):
even if they're from a different party. I think you
know the answer to that, Brian, The answer is absolutely
one hundred percent, you want to have a good relationship
with President Trump.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Well, the other dynamic too, beyond the politics of it,
is that he always has the handout. I mean, whether
he says things that you don't like or not even
about you personally, he always makes himself available to the
press for example. I mean, heck's he's doing an event
tonight on News Nation led by Chris Cuomo, you know,
a one hundred day thing. And so he's always willing

(05:03):
to talk to people that are willing to talk to him.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
And there probably is a lesson learned by all that.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Well, look, you know, I think one of the things
that the president likes is a challenge, So you know
he does Indeed, let's face it, he does indeed take
and get some easy questions from some of the new
press that's in there that you know, it sometimes seems fawning,
but he's also not afraid of going into the lions
den and taking some tough questions, and I think that's
what makes him very unique. You don't see that often.

(05:30):
I haven't seen that that often, you know. I think
back to even when President Barack Obama was president, he
bristled when there was a tough question thrown his way,
offended that a tough question would be thrown his way.
And the president President Trump sometimes he doesn't like tough questions.
Sometimes he says, that's a nasty question, but at the
same time he answers that question. I think that's what

(05:52):
makes him different from from some of his predecessors.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
John Great coverage as always, look forward to talking to
you on Friday.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Be well, Thanks a lot, you too, Brian, Bye bye,
