Speaker 1 (00:04):
Faith Freedom, Florida.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
This is the Brian mud Show.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Today is Happy Friday to you, Happy Friday to our
White House correspondent, John Deckers. Today is a very eventful day.
And John, you know, we take a look at President Trump.
He laid out the deadline for Russia to end the
war with Ukraine today or else, and the or else,
I guess raising tariffs. We've already seen that done in

(00:30):
the name of Russia on India, so kind of set
usuff for what's going on here.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Well, that's right, So the deadlines today. The President asked
yesterday whether he's going to push that deadline down the road,
and he essentially said no, and that means that he'll
pull the trigger, the trigger on what happens if Russia
does not come to the negotiating table. Tougher sanctions, tougher
tariffs on Russia. One tariffs on Russia that doesn't do

(00:58):
much for them. US Russian trade is very minimal, but
there's those secondary terriffs and the President has already pulled
the trigger on that. As it relates to India fifty
percent tariffs. Reason being is because India purchases such a
significant amount of oil from Russia. Fueling their war machine.
Very interesting to see whether China will also have secondary

(01:20):
terariffs applied to China in the sense that China is
actually the largest purchaser of Russian oil in the world.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Yeah, to your point, eighty percent of China's energy comes
from Russia, and that has largely been why Russia hasn't
suffered financially. Their trade deal with China after the Ukraine
invasion is really kind of an allowed thing. You know,
if you take a look at the view of the
possible John, it could get really interesting that way, because well,
you have countries like Belgium but still buy Russian energy. Oh,

(01:49):
by the way, you have several European nations, including Hungary,
but also France. France a big buyer of LNG natural
gas still from Russia. And so a lot of people
I don't think are aware of this any thoughts along
those lines about countries that otherwise theoretically have been handled
with on the negotiations up to this point.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Well, you raised a really good point about those European countries.
It's the reason why the EU cannot push through tough
sanctions as it relates to Russian oil in the EU.
It's because of those members that you mentioned. Hungary is
so dependent on Russia for its energy needs, and that
is one vote that you need. You need unanimous consent

(02:33):
in terms of everything that the EU wishes to push through,
and you're not going to get unanimous consent when Hungary
is so dependent on Russian oil.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
All right, So we'll watch all that today. Another deadline
of sorts, and you know, obviously you're focused on what's
going on in DC, MQ and A today talking about
this census. We'll ask you real quick about this. So
the Supreme Court twenty nineteen five to four decision again
the census question, are the citizenship question? Do you think

(03:05):
there's any chance or what would the landscape be from
a legal perspective, perhaps that the Supreme Court reconsidering something
along those lines as President Trump is pushing towards another census.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Brian, anything as possible. You know you would normally under
everyday circumstances. Tell you, when the Supreme Court takes up
a constitutional issue in one term, it's not going to
take up the same exact constitutional issue two terms later
or three terms later. But that's what you're asking me,

(03:39):
and I heard your intro. You know it is a
different Supreme Court. Amy Cony Barrett is now on the
Supreme Court, so she hasn't taken up this constitutional issue.
So is it possible that the Supreme Court could revisit
this particular issue. Absolutely, it's possible. It's just that they
don't normally do it. But we've seen some things that
I guess you could have normal with the US Supreme

(04:02):
Court over the last few years.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Good perspective, big development with Israel, as Israel has now
moved forward with what will be a full occupation of Gaza,
Gaza City, with an idea that there will be a
new council basically created that eventually they will turn control
over to that will not be the Palastinian Authority or Hamas.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
That's right. You know, I'll have an opportunity today. I'm
in the pool, so I have actually a few opportunities
to ask ask the President some questions. And now that
Israel has voted to essentially occupy all of Gaza, I'll
ask the President about that. What are his feelings about that?
You know? The President asked a similar type of question

(04:45):
just the other day before this happened, and he said, essentially, Brian,
it's up to Netanyahu, it's up to the Israeli government.
He doesn't want to meddle in that. But you know,
let's face it. You know, the US has in the
past interjected itself in terms of certain issues related to
the region, related to the Middle East, and I would

(05:08):
not be surprised if the President has given it more
thought to see whether that is a good idea as
it relates to the future peace in the region and
future peace for Israel and its security.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Great update, appreciate it as always, John, have a great
weekend you.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Too, Thanks a lot, Brian, talk to you next week.
Bye bye.
