Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to the Brian Munt Show, and thank you for listening.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's time for today's top three takeaways. Helpful, useful, repeatable.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Is the Senate's a d O Way, the Party of
the Legal Immigrants and Vans's Dance. My top three takeaways
for you all this Wednesday. So let's start with House
Speaker Mike Johnson. He was on with Sean Handity last night.
This is no longer just a House bill. It's not
a Senate bill. It's a bill of the people, of
the hard working American people, and we are going to

(00:35):
deliver it.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
It's the Bill of Joel.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
It's the it's the Can we just call it the
Joel Bill?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yeah, although I like the Bill of Joel not to
be confused with Billa Joel.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
That's what it sounds like if you say it fast
Bill Joel.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
My top takeaway for you today, The Senate version of
the O BBB A became just a and maybe DA.
I'll explain barbecues, booze fireworks annoyingly until two in the morning,

(01:10):
maybe later, because it's on Friday this.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Year, at least you get to sleep in.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
How late how light is too late in your view
to do fireworks.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Well, in general, I would say, you know, midnight.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
You know, I'll give you till midnight, even though that
is late, especially if like last year, it was on
a work night. Yeah, but I think it's I think
it's fair, you know, celebrate. I don't think half the
people even know what they're celebrating anymore. But uh yeah, anyway,
I've got a cynical view.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
I'll give it. I'll give it. I'll give it till midnight.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I mean, you might be right by the time you
start talking about midnight later, because it might be that
they just had so much to drink that they're just and.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
The next night of the night after, I mean, are
we still celebrating.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Well this weekend, I bet it will because it's on
a Friday. Yeah, the weather's going to be an interesting
dynamic and all this too.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
See all that factors then.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
But anyway, so yes, barbecues, booze, and fireworks. There's all
be things that will be happening on Friday. What probably
won't be President Trump putting pen to paper on the
one time one big potentially aesthetically pleasing act you know
where it gets some mores here, But you look at

(02:21):
the rhight Angler might go kind of beautiful and if
you just I mean, in some cases the works might
have been concealable. You'll put all the makeup on there. Yeah,
the Act when it was passed by the Senate became
just that the Act in the end. That is because
in a maneuver so petty that only Chuck Schumer would

(02:42):
do it. Just prior to the final Senate vote, good
old Chuck you, as Rush would have said, forced a
motion to rename the One Big Beautiful Bill Act the
Act by invoking a section of the Burg Rule, you know,
one of the arcane rules of the Senate, named after

(03:02):
the former Democrat KKK organizer term longtime senator, So good
old Chuck You then literally went on to say that
because of the formally esthetically pleasing Act, he said, people
are going to get sick and die. That is a
quote from Chuck Shammer. People will get sick and die.

(03:24):
And shaking your head, Joel, that's how bad this is.
You will get sick and die.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
So why would they get sick and die?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Well, you know, because people are going to be made
to starve and we're not going to you know, keep
giving people who eat bond bonds on ac counch and
don't do anything ever medicaid anymore.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Oh got it.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Yeah, he didn't clarify that. I'm just I'm filling in
the blanks for him. I think he might have some
additional reasons. I mean, I personally think there's a far
better chance of people like getting sick and dying because
they've been puking up listening to Chuck.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
But can we call them up Chuck then?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Yeah, Verrey, exactly, very good, very good. But anyway, here's
the thing, and it's a considerable one. As a reminder,
the House version of the bill only passed by exactly
one vote, and just as was the case when Jad
Vans cast the tie breaking vote yesterday, you need to
look no further.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Than Texas Rep.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Chip Roy, a reluctant YA vote on the House bill,
originally to find another no vote. Now he spent much
of the day yesterday saying stuff like this, while being
particularly critical of the latest incarnation of the A. Roy said,
I am tired of swamp creatures, so called conservative ones.

(04:47):
And he wasn't talking about the gators at Alligator Alcatrazi there,
said I'm tired of the swamp creatures, including so called
conservative ones, gaslighting America when it's politically convenient for them
to do so. We have the majority in the Senate,
we should be acting like it. Truth is, there are
multiple Senators happy to let the Parliamentarian Act as a

(05:10):
foil to preserve the status quo. That's non leadership. That's
service to the swamp. And in reference to the Senate version,
also not ending the Biden administration's Anything But Inflation Reduction
Act that Roy calls the Green new Scam, it doesn't
end it until twenty twenty seven, so it still leaves

(05:32):
that Biden law in place for a whole other year.
Quoting him, this is a deal killer of an already
bad deal. This is a deal killer of an already
bad deal.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
So he's on the fence.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Sounds pretty final, doesn't it.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah, you know, if you're wondering, hey, I thought that
it was, you know, cleared up a House committee last night.
It's going to be maybe a floor vote today. Trump's
be signing this thing on Friday. If you're kind of
surprised to hear my tone on this today, this is
why right here, I mean I don't know how I mean,

(06:11):
maybe President Trump, who was in an actual swamp opening
Alligator Alcatraz when the apass the Senate. Maybe Trump, who
more than anything wants to be signing this thing on Friday,
can work some magic wood, Chip and some of the
other disenchanted house you appears. But I just don't know
how you get from a this is a deal killer
of an already bad deal to taking a phone call

(06:33):
from Trump and going all right. I mean they could,
they could make that decision, but I just wone't count
on it. And that's in part because you know what,
Chip is absolutely right on principle. He is absolutely right
on principle here not to want to support someone what's
in this bill independent of other factors. Can we all
agree that it is entirely unacceptable to continue to pay

(06:58):
for illegal immigrants, including criminal illegal immigrants, to get quote
unquote free healthcare under Medicaid? I understand we can't with
with Senate Democrats, but can those of US tax pay slubs.
Can we release agree, you know what, probably shouldn't be
pain for medicaid for criminal illegal immigrants.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
But here's the thing.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
If this is signed into law, we will be we
already are right now, but we will continue to be,
and I can understand where Roy and some of the
other conservative skeptics are coming from on this. If a
Republican controlled Senate won't do whatever it takes to strip
benefits from criminal illegal immigrants, what the heck?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
What are we actually doing?

Speaker 1 (07:49):
I mean, are they only marginally better than I don't know,
the party of criminal illegal immigrants? My second takeaway today,
But first a word from your president. It's known as
Alligator Alcatraz, which is very appropriate because I looked.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Outside and that's not a.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Place I want to go hiking anytime soon. Just does
he hike at all?

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Does not strike me as the outdoorsman. No, I mean
I could be wrong about that, but not not exactly
the second coming of Teddy Roosevelt that way.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
So you can't see him with the fanny pack.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Oh, I shouldn't see anybody with the fanny pack. Ever.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
That's how much I know about hiking. I would assume.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
HANDI packs are why Europeans don't like Americans. People think
it's Trump and politics. Know, fanni packs, that's a whole
other issue. And if you're hiking with a fanny pack,
what do I know? Definitely do I definitely don't like
your chance against the gators. It's gonna I'll see that
one ago that that one doesn't know what they're doing.

(08:59):
There's great there's great hiking in the Everglades. As an aside,
I mean less people here. Trump say that and they're like, well,
there goes that trip.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Now.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Actually the best hiking and I'll let me amend second
best hiking I've ever done in the state of Florida
is in the Everglades. There's really great stuff, and it
can't be interesting at times. I've been in situations where
Ashley where like, all right, you know, we got gators
on the.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Right, we've got gators on the left.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
I think we think we don't continue walking forward here
and just slowly go this way.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Well, in case, in case the president is listening and
he wants to know where to hike in in Florida,
what is the best place?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Boy, I mean that that's kind of a tough deal.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
There's I don't I didn't mean to take you off
the rails. I thought there was like one place.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
So there's so much great stuff, like around Riverbend, for example,
Jonathan Dickinson's But there are some amazing spots and the
keys as well that you can do that a lot
of people are not necessarily as familiar with and so
to sub Jack could it's a rabbit hole.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
So President, if you are, if you are listening, those
are some places that you can hike.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
So I'm not saying that, although there are gators and
riverbend in a lot of those places too, and I
came across the crocodile and the keys, so.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
My second take takeaway today was was the party of
criminal illegal immigrants. And I'm not saying that Democrat senators
are necessarily themselves criminal illegal immigrants, although I absolutely do
think you might be able to make the case that
poke honest, you know, But what I am saying is
that they have proven to be the party of illegal immigrants,

(10:48):
both of the criminal and civil offense variety, and that
was evident during the four years of open border policies
under the Biden administration. It is clear based on their
opposition to President Trump's efforts to poor criminal illegal immigrants.
As a reminder, we just last week got a report
from MICE that shows there are four hundred and thirty
six thousand illegal immigrants with known criminal convictions that we

(11:13):
still have not been able to get out of this
country because the court rulings and nonsense.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
They need they need rights. They two process.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I got your freaking due process Alligator Alcatraz. And by
the way, there are another two hundred and twenty seven
thousand that have pending criminal charges against them. But anyway,
thanks to the recent Supreme Court ruling, some of that
stuff should be cleaned up, and a lot of them
may end up in Alligator Alcatraz. Of course, the old

(11:43):
dad call your Training Transition Airport that is now officially
online and able to house thousands of detaining is the
largest detention and deportation and facility in the country. By
the way, I mean on the whole alligator thing with
Trump yesterday, it was an instant classic the audio because
the marine won in the background just it's not to
come across well here so and plus the visual with
his hand was better anyway, but it was just amazing

(12:05):
when he said, snakes are fast alligators. We're going to
teach them how to run away from an alligator. Okay,
if they escape prison, don't run in the straight line,
run like this, And he's waving his hand as his
eggzag pattern. And you know what, your chances go up
by about one percent.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
I like how you transcribe it down to the Okay,
it like I thought it was fact.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Yes, and I'm pretty precise.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
And by the way, the facility is fully up to code,
including ac How many reports have you heard in your
goddless soul since Lender's news media or lies? Joel pointed
out that Representative Lewis Frinkle is just lying about this, So.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
It's sweltering conditions.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
You know what's sweltering is the repressive nature of your votes.
You're my representative and danger to represent me or the president.
That's the Trump definitely deserves better representation than her. But
perhaps it was as clear as it's ever been based
on actions taken by Democrats in the Senate over the
two day Voterama extravaganza, We're not once but twice all

(13:11):
most all Democrats and one theoretical Republican, Susan Collins, voted
against Indian medicaid access for illegal and criminal illegal immigrants,
which means, by the way yesterday that jd Vance missed
the moment. My third takeaway today jd Vance missed the moment.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
On this vote.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
The Ya's are fifty, the Nays are fifty the Senate
being evenly divided, the Vice president votes in the affirmative
the bill as amended is passed.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
So yes, he was that tie breaking vote to pass
the Senates a no. As the President of the Senate,
he did not lead. Now, the reason medicaid for illegals,
which is a non starter for Conservatives in the House,
remained in the bill was because the Senate parliamentarian rule
that those benefits couldn't be cut through the reconciliation process
and instead needed sixty four votes. Both Senate votes subsequently

(14:05):
failed fifty six to forty four.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
However, had JD.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Vans who overruled the parliamentarian, which is his prerogative to
do and has been done three times previously by Vice presidents,
those benefits would have been stripped, along with a lot
of the waste, Frawden abuse and related government program shenanigans. Now,
at first, when I saw that Collins voted with Democrats
against ending medicaid and related benefits for criminal illegal immigrants, why,

(14:33):
I can only imagine must be just a bleeding hard thing.
But anyway, Collins did do that, she voted to it
was her and then almost all Democrats.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
But in that moment, I.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Wondered if Vance didn't overrule the parliamentarian and enforce the
vote because he needed the Colins vote in the end
to actually pass the bill. I would understand that political calculation.
I might not agree with this, but I would understand
and where he's coming from strategically. But here's the thing

(15:04):
that proved not to be the case, because he didn't
need the Collins vote. He didn't have the Collins vote anyway.
He cave to Collins, it would seem, and she voted
against it in the end, along with all Democrats, Ran
Paul and Tom till Us anyway. So, whether it was
a political miscalculation on his part or because he became

(15:27):
weak kneed about what would be said about him for
overruling the parliamentarian, Jade Vance missed the moment to do
the right thing on this, which is, you know, it
is something that if he had done, maybe maybe he
would be able to get the House on board in
time for Friday's Independence Day festivities. I mean, that's the

(15:48):
irony here is if he did the right thing, not
only would it be the right thing, and there's a
much better chance the House go along with this.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Today we'll see what happens.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
I mean, maybe Trump really can have that kind of
influencer over the House freedom of clocks. But again, I
mean when when you say when you say what Tripp Roy,
Trip Roy said that this is a deal killer of
an already bad deal.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
I don't know how that changes today.
