Speaker 1 (00:05):
Facts, integrity, and trust. This is the Brian mud show.
Most people live within a NTUA, Most wouldn't recommend it.
I'm getting this. Look at Joel, let's go an I
identify with.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
This never recommend it.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Wow, it's pretty uh, pretty strong. So I meid the
ongoing debate about potentialary forms of property taxation a separate
but also impactful debate about homeowners association specifically. I got
a question about whether they should be banned altogether. That
is something that a state legislator has been talking about
(00:46):
but has failed to produce. There still is not a
bill that has been filed for the upcoming state legislative session,
so it appears unlikely serious debate is going to happen
in starting in January about whether we're going to put
an end to a in the state of Florida. But
what we do have is new research on what most
people think about their right joys ans are very similar
(01:08):
to what Joel was just saying. Not good, not good.
You can see how you fit into the mix here.
This is a recent study that was conducted by two
by ten home buyers warranty and take you through just
some of the things that I think a lot of
people will identify with here what they had to say
about the rhoys. You got forty seven percent of people
(01:32):
who are dissatisfied.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
With the HI Jack.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Okay, So I mean we're talking just out of the jump,
you know, you're talking basically half right and half of
people like no on the HOI. You got then all
of these about fifty percent, you have fifty four percent
that have said they've had negative experiences with the HI.
Think about that most residents of a community. Most we're saying, yeah,
(02:00):
bad things.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
That's pretty bad.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
You fit in that camp too.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I haven't had any specific experiences with myself and the HOA.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Now, okay, well that's good. Fifty five percent of hoas
have rules the average homeowner does not agree with.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yeah, a lot of arbitrary stuff.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
You can get a lot of that, for sure. Sixty
three percent of homeowners and this is the big one here,
I think sixty three percent of homeowners and in HOA
would not recommend living under one absolutely that speaks volumes.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Doesn't it?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
One of the things that I found to be somewhat
somewhat funny. But I mean, I guess it stands to reason.
Who is happiest what group of people within an HOI
are the happiest with the HOI.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
I would say, like the board president, the.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
People running it right, yeah, yeah, and that it adds
a little bit of power. And even there the numbers
aren't overwhelming, but sixty two percent of HOA board members
say they like serving on their community's board. Obviously they
like it more than the people that are living under
their decisions. So there is that. Here's something else that
(03:14):
thought was kind of interesting in the mix. Here the
top three pros of an HOA these days, there was
only one that got above fifty percent, and that was
neighborhood appearance. Neighborhood appearance above fifty percent, nothing else. The
other two though, two and three resale value in security
(03:36):
and safety. On the top three cons of an HOA
these days, two reached above fifty percent, so most people
saying hi, thies, yes, rules and covenants. And then the
third that fell below that was poor management.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
You know, a bad HOA could also hurt resale.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Oh, no doubt so absolutely. Yeah. So the report tells
a pretty specific story of how people feel about their
current living situation, and maybe this tells the biggest story
of all seventy percent of homeowners in an HOA currently
say that if they are going to relocate in the future,
(04:17):
they'll make it a priority to not live in the
community with an HOA, So that probably is the biggest
tell of all.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
All right, well, you know it's cold. I don't have
to tell you that. There are Veterans Day celebrations across
the Palm Beaches. Bring your jacket or at least your hoodie.
Uh and the Treasure Coast. Several cities have them. I
have a rundown. You can just head to Florida News
on our website and you can check that out.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Bring jacket or at least your hoodie.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I have the hoodie with me.
