Faith Freedom Florida. This is the Brian Mud Show. Yeah,
Brian Mud and Joel Mackin with you. Protecting the Palm
Beach is a tribute to those who serve and sacrifice.
Brought to you by the Good Greek's Bureau and Good
Greek Moving and Storage. And this is the weekly feature
design recognize those who paid the ultimate price and service,
(00:24):
but also the service a reminder of what are police do?
You resk every week that every day that they go
to work, they put into badge, leave their family never
knowing what might happen next, really rough situations. In recent years,
LDS rose by seventeen percent nationally. Last year, three hundred
and forty two officers shot in the line of duty.
We had in total one hundred and sixty seven heroes
(00:45):
in the line of duty. We lost last year, eight
in Florida. Now, the pace this year has been lower
than last year. That's the good news. The bad news
we still have lost seventy two heroes in the line
of duty so far this year, including five in Florida.
And we've lost these heroes since the previous update. In
Citrus County, Florida, Deputy Andy Learra died due to injury
(01:05):
sustained when he was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic.
In May of twenty twenty three. Andy Is survived by
a wife and two sons. And Boca Ratone Senior FHP
Trooper Craig Gaines died due to entry sustained while providing
security at FEU Stadium for the Florida A and M
game on September ninth. A Navy veteran, he survived by
(01:26):
his wife and three children. In California, Officer Ray Brantis
killed on patrol when his vehicle was struck by a
semi trailer. He survived by his wife and three children.
In Louisiana, Deputy Charles Riley murdered while interviewing a suspect
in a sexual assault investigation. During the questioning, the suspect attacked,
Charles grabbed a gun fired at two deputies. Suspect killed
(01:47):
with return fire. A Navy veteran, Charles survived by his
wife and two daughters. And Missouri Officer Henry Franklin murdered
while serving an arrest warrant in a homicide investigation. Upon
arriving at the suspects residence, officers were fired from the inside,
fired on from the inside of the house. After a
five hour stand off, the suspect found dead of a
self inflicted wound. A Navy Guard veteran, Henry is survived
(02:11):
by a wife and four children. And as we reflect
on those we've lost police, remember the families of the
fallen as well. Average age forty two, average tour of
duty is twelve years. In addition to losing seventy two
law enforcement professionals in the line of duty this year,
there are forty nine widows in one hundred and twenty
five children who've lost a parent. This is you're reminder
back to badge and spread the word
