Edwin Ferguson's ignorance, reprehensible conduct, and refusal to take accountability
for his demonstrably false and slanderous statements last Wednesday at
a school board meeting. This was when he referred to
Charlie Kirk as a racist bigot and made references comparing

the assassinated Turning Point USA founder to Adolf Hiller So
on September eleventh, one day after the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
This is the backstory to this. Florida Education Commissioner and
Astukas kimmuts Us issued a letter to educator statewide learning
that public comments celebrating or disparaging Kirk in ways that

could make students or parents feel unwelcome may violate the
state standards and risk teaching certificates. As stated by the Commissioner,
it has been brought to my attention that some Florida
educators have posted despicable comments on social media regarding the
horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk. These few are not a

reflection of the great, high quality teachers who make up
the vast majority of Florida's educators. Nevertheless, I will be
conducting an investigation of every educator who engages in this
vile behavior. The Commissioner reminded educators that derogatory conduct about
Kirk quote undermines the trust of students and families they serve,

while he also stated that public educators are held to
a higher accountability standard than the public at large. So
enery response, Ferguson, while addressing the Commissioner's letter, said this, Okay,
so this is what happened, right, So you go back
to the previous Thursday, right after the assassination, education Commissioner
issues that letter. Then last Wednesday, the next school board

meeting by the pal Beach County School District, you then
had Ferguson respond to the letter by saying, I, as
a teacher, don't miss a racist, a racist bigot of that.
How are you going to lose your teaching certificate for that?
I hadn't even heard of him until last week, but

I know enough now to know that he was not
a good person. It's like saying you can't talk about
Hitler because it might have been Jewish people. He also
referred to Kirk as racist, sexist, anti Semitic, and homophobic,
strong statements for someone who evidently wasn't even aware Charlie

Kirk can tell he's assassinated, which speaks to his generally ignorance,
but also to a lack of due diligence on his part,
overall failure of character, and dereliction of duty as a
leader in public education, notably as it retains the characterizations
of Charlie Kirk only the fourth political assassination of a

non office holder in American history, and the first since
Martin Luther King Junior in nineteen sixty eight. Not only
did the United States House of Representatives pass a resolution
honoring Charlie Kirk last week, but the measure was bipartisan.
It was bipartisan, with most Democrats who voted decisively ninety

eight voting in favor of the resolution. He did have
a four dozen or so Democrats that voted president didn't
take a stance, but among those that decided to vote decisively,
it was nearly two to one even among Democrats in
favor of the resolution. What's more, in the United States Senate,
Senator Rick Scott's resolution to honor Charlie Kirk's birthday, October fourteenth,

as a National Day of Remembrance, that passed with unanimous consent,
so unanimous in the United States Senate, majority of Democrats
in the House. And you have a member of the
Palm Beach County school Board that is saying the absolute

be joining us at ADE forty tomorrow to talk about
