Speaker 1 (00:00):
Talking about Florida's universities, the great news story that continues
to get better. And as we take a look at
the annual US News and World to Report Best Colleges
rankings that have come out, digging down a little bit further.
It's not just the case because when you're number one,
it's just you know, well, we're still number one. That's great,

(00:20):
But that doesn't mean that we aren't still improving in
the state of Florida. When you drill down, you see
that we very much are. So the performance of many
of our universities was on display yet again in an
improving way. So if you take a look at the
public university rankings, University of Florida number seven overall last year,

(00:42):
number seven this year as well. Then Florida State University
number twenty three last year, number twenty one this year,
so it's a too point rise two rank rise. University
of South Florida number forty five last year, number forty
one this year, so another advancement of two spots. Florida

(01:03):
International University number fifty last year, number forty nine this year.
Continue to see the trend. BAM you number eighty one
last year, number eighty one, this year, Florida Atlantic University
number one oh three last year, top one hundred for
the first time this year number one hundred, that's a
three spot game. University in North Florida number one twenty

(01:26):
six up to one twenty two, up four spots. You
take a look at a when you include all colleges
and the privates University of Miami number three, number sixty
three both years, and then you get into like the
regionals and we really shine there. Rollins College the number
one regional university in the South last year and this year.

(01:50):
Stetson University was number eight or number nine among the
regionals last year, number eight now and Florida Polytechnic University
number one regional last year and this year. So it's
kind of like either right at the top in terms
of outcomes and performance or continuing to gain while advancing

(02:10):
towards the top. So it's a really impressive story about
our university system, which is the top trank top ranked
to get again this year according to US News and
World Report,
