Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to the Brian Mud Show. Thanks for listening.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Passion plus talent is unstoppable. It's time for today's Top
three takeaways Sports.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Betting and poker, skedtles and the Bigger one.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Too by Top three takeaways for are you on this Friday?
Happy Friday? Happy Friday to you. I hope it is.
That is, if you can be happy in a world
in which we've had a partial federal government shutdown for
(00:37):
twenty three days. We're in day twenty four. How have
you made it this far?
Speaker 1 (00:43):
It's creepier than Halloween.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
The Senate left town for the weekend without a deal
to reopen the government. This after Democrats blocked to build
a pay essential workers during the shutdown. When asked by
Fox News, House Speaker Mike Johnson shot down the idea
of the House voting on its own measure to pay
air traffic controllers, service members, and law enforcement, saying it
would face the same fate in the Senate.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
It would be a waste of our time, and it
would take the pressure off Chuck Schumer to get his
job done and open the government again.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
This is what's so infuriating.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Air traffic controllers. Next pay date is October twenty eighth.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Now, in all seriousness, it is just absolutely unconscionable that
Democrats continue to vote against federal employees who are reporting
to work as scheduled, voting against them actually getting paid
on time. How can anybody wou any intellectual honesty think
that's acceptable And it'll take like your godless souls and slenders.
(01:37):
News media do they report on this. That is what
they are doing. Democrats have repeatedly voted against people who
are going to work every day getting paid on time.
If you had any honesty in your news media, that
would be a huge story. And by the way, the
(01:59):
reason the Democrats are not doing this is for the
very reason that I am facetious.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Every day. We don't need thirty four percent of the
federal government.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
We don't, and they realize that if they actually voted
to pay those people, we just do this permanently. We
never need to bring the thirty four percent back. You're laughing, Joel,
It's true, that makes sense. Yeah, that's the reason they
won't vote for it, because you don't notice the difference.
You don't need thirty four percent the federal government there,
(02:27):
we don't.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
The only way, the only.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
Way they can exact any leverage is by not having
these people paid and so their use as pawns.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
It's pretty diabolical, right.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
But again, when you have no morality, when you have
no conscience, when you throw God out, which is what
the left and the Democrat Party has done, that's what
they do. And on this note about your goddless souls
and slanders news media, this is what they care about.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
So that's my top takeaway.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
And this week we've had bombshell evidence produced by the
Department of Homeland Security that shows that FEMA literally made
life and death decisions based on political affiliations and got
an ownership for nearly four years under the Biden administration.
What we learned is had victims of at least four
hundred and ninety one emergencies that FEMA responded to, including
(03:19):
two hundred and thirty three declared disasters between August of
twenty twenty one and January of twenty twenty five, or
potentially denied assistance due to political affiliation or gun ownership.
We learned that in Florida this included periods covering the
impacts of Hurricane Sally, Ian Nicole, Idelia, Debbie, Helene, and
Milton in addition to ration of tornadoes. But that apparently
(03:43):
isn't enough or really of any concern to your godless
Soulston's letters news media to even report on it. I'm curious, Jell,
have you come across any local or state outlets other
than us that have done this nice?
Speaker 1 (04:02):
It's really remarkable.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Should be the single biggest story in the state this week,
should be the single.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Biggest story nationally this week.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
For years under the Biden administration, life and death decisions
were made by emergency responders based on political affiliation and
gun ownership, and nobody reports on.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
It other than us. What does that tell you?
Speaker 2 (04:35):
It tells you everything you need to know about the
credibility or lack thereof, of your news media at large.
But hey, you got a Pooh for Brains player for
the Miami Heat that is found to be involved in
a sports betting ring. Well, now that's a story. Now
we care. Now we found something we care about. Pooh
(04:57):
for Brains pos for the Heat and thirty three of
his thuggish friends. Now that's the story. What does that
say about the stay of your news media? Don't care
about life and death decisions being made based upon political
affiliation and gun ownership, the man, the heat guard, and
(05:19):
the gambling ring, the mafia.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Go with God. Turn towards God.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
You know. One of the things I pray for regularly
that in my own way, because look, this is who
I am right, for better or for worse. Some people
love it. A lot of people love it. I pray
that I can be a messenger for God to bring
people towards God, which is hard to do. When I
am kind of taking this approach, I understand, go towards God,
because if you did, you do the right thing. If
(05:48):
your news media went towards God, they had to report
the right thing. Go towards God solve a lot of
these problems. If you go towards God, you don't give
a rip about the sports betting stuff because you'll never
be involved in that world. But let's start there with
the poof for brain sports betting in poker scandals that
led to the arrest of a bunch of criminally dishonest
idiots and traditional mafia thugs yesterday. So yes, Miami heat
(06:11):
guard Terry Rozier, Portland Trail Blazer's head coach, Chauncey Phillips,
former NBA guard and coach Damon Jones among the thirty
four taken down in two separate schemes by the FBI
on Thursday, Box's Chanley Painter.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Some are accused of illegal sports bets, like Miami heat
guard Terry Rosier, while others like Portland Trail Blazer's head
coach Chauncey Billups and former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Damon Jones,
are caught up in an illegal poker game allectedly run
by the mafia. The US Attorney for the Eastern District
of New York says the rigged machines built victims out
(06:48):
of millions. The NBA has placed both Rosier and Billips
on immediately. Rosier's attorney released a statement calling his arrest
a quote photo op for the FBI.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Okay, so that doesn't say much for the defense. By
the way, the best they got is this is really
bad photo op.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
Or screwed the attorney later, I guess said something to
the effect of, oh, he had an injury, that was
what it was. You didn't want yeah it or yeah yeah,
nothing about the two hundred and fifty grand that was
shelled out at his house.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
So as we as we learned during yesterday's presser the
sports betting scandal and fall to inside information about the
health of players, what was going on with teams, the
actual manipulation of outcomes on the court, often to affect
prop bets. This at times included even faked injuries like
you're referring to Joel and the poker operation which Hall
of Fame player current coach Chauncey Billups actively participated in. Now,
(07:45):
that was a scandal that was run like straight through
the Italian mafia, something like movie kind of you know,
casino royal, kind of materially here sophisticated cheating methods. When
I talk about Pooh for brains, people for the headliners,
here about that. Chauncey Billups is someone who earned one
(08:08):
hundred and seven million dollars during his playing career is
currently earning four point seven million per year as Portland's coach.
The entire alleged scheme he was wrapped up in, like,
the entire thing for its duration doesn't even equal the
value of what he's earned in his career. Additionally, he
owns dozens of businesses, including over thirty Windys franchises, but
(08:30):
as dumb as Chauncey might be the rosier situation takes
the cake. So the Miami heat Guard has earned over
one hundred and sixty million dollars and currently is earning
twenty six point six million per year as part of
a ninety six million dollar fully guaranteed contract. Based on
the early available information on the size and scale of
(08:53):
his criminal involvement, he earned more in a single game,
basically about a half of one game, as what he
personally benefited with that's been evident so far. It just
again pooh for brains, And it's so pooh for brains,
(09:14):
I should just say the word. And this brings me
to my second takeaway, which is the bigger thing. So
the aforementioned weren't just pooh for brains, morons for hire.
There's certain to be the tip of the iceberg. So
here's the bigger picture to consider, and it's among the
many reasons why gambling is not a particularly smart thing.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Period.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
If two people burned well over one hundred million in
their careers and we're earning many millions this year were
involved in these things, what do you think is really
happening with many who are not big names, who don't
have paydays anywhere close to those two. It just so
(09:54):
happened to be the case. The last Friday, I brought
you the information that ninety six percent of people who
bet on sports lose money doing it. Ninety six percent,
and I broke out all the reasons why, starting with
the fact that when you lose, you lose your entire bed,
but when you win, the house still takes an average
of ten percent of what you want, creating almost impossible
(10:15):
winning nods for anyone who regularly plays. And also that
people increasingly do parlays, which only maximizes the likelihood of losing.
But it says something when the universe of sports betters
only marginally perform better than those who buy lottery tickets.
Aside from the reality that the house always wins, there's
(10:37):
the other dynamic in play, unqualified levels of potential corruption.
Virtually every coach, every player is aware of the spread
for their game, independent of prop bets.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
For example, consider this.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
As soon as this went down yesterday, the first thing
actually came to mind was Lane Kiffin, because I read
something back in early September. They're Real was like, huh,
he's saying the quiet part out loud, So.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Lane Keevy you might remember him, former coach of.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
The FAU Owls who that was like what he said
it like in his video after he was hired. When
he was on his rehabilitation tour, he had no interest
in coaching FAU, but he had been kind of disgraced
because he's not His.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Background is pretty awful.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
He's not a person who cares about the players to school,
say anything else. He's just out for himself in the
highest pay day. He's that kind of guy. So anyway,
he'd kind of been disgraced and so he went to
FAU to rehabilitate himself. They had him to do a
video and in that video, if you saw it, he
really did go like FAU Owls, who you could just tell,
(11:47):
I want to be anywhere else in the world than
here right now coaching this team. But anyway, it worked out.
He was able to rehabilitate himself enough to get the
job eventually in Mississippi, which is where he is now.
And we're gonna see how intelligent the brass at the
University of Florida really is because he's actually rumored to
be their preferred candidate to be the next head coach
at UF But anyway, Kiffin said this in September, following
(12:10):
a win against Kentucky that did not beat the spread.
Really glad how the players played, especially in the second
half in the second quarter. They fought hard. That's a
really hard team that plays really close games. So proud
of our guys. Sorry to all the gamblers out there
at the end, but again, they didn't bet the spread.
(12:35):
He was keenly aware of this to me at the time.
I did file that one away, because usually these people
are smart enough not to say the white part out loud.
We Noella Kiffin in particular, not the brightest guy. He
is a good football coach if he wasn't a tool
bag otherwise. But the point is this, they all know.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
They all know.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
The players, the coaches from prop lines. The players themselves
will go and take a look at what their prop
lines are right before the start of the game.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
They know their numbers, every.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Single one of them, doesn't matter the sport or the level.
They know they know the line for the game for
their team. They know every bit of this information. Players
coaches all know, and there are no shortage of friends
of family or say organized crime rings who want inside
information or better still, are just going to flyat out
payoff players or coaches for outcomes. If this is happening
(13:30):
again with guys who are making tens of millions of
dollars per year, you think it's unhappening with the people
at low levels beck that are actually less visible. It's
a lot easier to cheat when you're less visible, where
you're just a role player.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
And so that takes me to my third takeaway today.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
What's almost certainly happening here, where it's almost certainly most
pervasive is where people are not looking. How many professional
athletes are not making the money of their most wealthy
teammates but want to keep up with the joneses independent
of those who have poof for brains and lack of integrity.
But more likely still, how many, say, for example, college
athletes are not on big nil deals, how many are
(14:17):
never going to go pro? How many are hungry for
money and seemingly have far less visibility and perceived risk.
The reality is that the bigger sports betting scandals are
likely to take place with unheralded players at the professional level,
and definitely the collegiate levels straight through potentially even Division
two and three. That can easily affect things without too
much attention. And though I don't know, I suspect that's
(14:40):
what's been uncovered is just scratching the surface of what
really takes place, kind of like that scapegoaded FEMA supervisor
a year ago, fired for passing over twenty homes of
Trump supporters, when in reality, FEMA engaged in political buys
of emergency service for nearly four years across four hundred
and ninety one emergencies, just like Washington, d C. And
(15:02):
the Democrat Party specifically, how they bring out the worst
in people, how many truly good, honest and decent people
are engaged in lots of gambling and lots of sports betting.
And I say that with absolute love and affection for
my friend, the Greek
