listening and welcome back to the Brian Mudshow.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Time now for today's top three takeaways.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, hey, there, we're going to talk a little tortoise activities,
some slugs, some slots, and also some lions, tigers and sharks.
What do you think a lot of the animal kingdom
covered here as we make our way into this Tuesday.
Do hope you had a very enjoyable Memorial Day weekend
while paying homage to the reason that we're able to
(00:43):
enjoy that weekend, any weekend, those who who paid the
ultimate price for our freedomen as. Certainly the President did
that yesterday. On that note, this was what it sounded
like with President Trump at Arlington National Cemetery.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Every child that lives in peace, every home that is
filled with joy and love, every day the Republic stands
is only possible because of those who did what had
to be done when duty called.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Amen.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
So now let's talk tortoises, some slugs, some sloths, lions, tigers,
and sharks. What do you say? Which is my top
takeaway today? As you're probably wondering what in the world,
So if you could be one of those animals, or
let's just say for a minute that you had to
(01:33):
be one of those animals, which would you be, jiel
Are you the tortoise, slug, sloth, lion, tiger or chart.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I'd be the lion. I want to be the king
of the jungle.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Because it comes with a lot of responsibility.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
I think I could handle it. Okay, I don't want
to be one of those slow moving creatures.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Okay, that's for sure, all right, and a shark I'm
not good underwater.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
So personally, by the way, as a animal and nature lover,
I do have a great appreciation for tortoises and slots
in particular. Yeah, this like's not so much, but I
certainly wouldn't choose to be one as much as I
love water.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Kind of like I was thinking about this.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
The shark is interesting because AND do love the water,
but being a man all much more of my thing.
So I would prefer to be you say, lion, I
go tiger. I'd be the tiger king. Okay, just not
that one.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Not that one.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
But by the way, I mean, this was one of
the things that was kind of crazy in the Perthace.
I was thinking Tiger king is because Joe Exotic was
back in the news recently. Don't know if you heard this,
but Joe Exotic, who is in the year I forget
if it's like five or six now, if it's twenty
one year sentence in the plot to kill Carol Baskin
(03:03):
of the Tampa area be cat rescue, I mean, just
the whole thing nutty. But anyway, Joe Exotic back in
the news because well, recently, his husband, who is evidently
a Mexican illegal immigrant, was supported by ICE and he
was deported after having previously been detained for what appeared
(03:26):
to have been participation in a human smuggling operation. I
just can't make it up. Cannot make it up. That
just sounds apropos for Joe Exotic, doesn't it that he
would be married to an illegal immigrant involved in human
smuggling that was deported. But anyway, back to the animal
(03:47):
kingdom stuff. If you had to vote for one of
those animals to represent your interest, Okay, so I ask
you which one you'd want to be if you had
to vote for one of them in the animal kingdom
to represent your interests. What's it gonna be going to
vote for the tortoise, the slug? They are going to
vote for the sloth. You vote for a lion, maybe
a tiger, or a shark. So this takes me to
(04:10):
my second takeaway today, which party aligns with each of
the three? But first, speaking of sharks, and it's the
fifthieth anniversary the Summer of Jaws, and they have all
kinds of things going on where it all took place.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
Half a century after Jaws terrified moviegoers, Martha's Vineyard, where
the movie was filmed, is embracing its blockbuster legacy. The
Martha's Vineyard Museum is featuring Jaws at fifty a deeper dive.
It's an exhibition of rare photos, props, and oral histories
from locals who helped bring Amity Island to life.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Here you go, Maybe De Santis can send some more
woman fluffies up there to take pay. By the way,
can you hear Martha's Vineyard anymore without thinking of Martha's migrants? No,
every time I hear Martha's Vineyard, all all I can
think of is Martha's Migrants.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
It's just.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
It was well branded. DeSantis never did send them to
Joe's Beach though. That's still one thing he put out
there he just did not deliver on. I guess it's
not too late, but it just doesn't seem like you'd
be right at this point anyway. So yeah, which party
aligns with each of the three? So here's the reason
(05:24):
I'm bringing this up today. Recently, a Democrat party researcher
who works with party online pollsters, conducted a study of voters.
Her focus group two hundred and fifty independent voters. You
were asked which animals best described each of the major
political parties. It was an unaided answer. You just go ahead.
(05:48):
What comes to mind when you think of Democrats? What
comes to mind when you think of Republicans? In those answers,
worthy most commonly provided answers rtises, slugs and slaws for Democrats, Lions,
(06:09):
tigers and sharks for Republicans.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Now, we don't have.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
To parse additional details of the study to infer what
the implications are politically, if that's currently the view of
the two parties By those who don't adhere to one.
This characterization is also an extension of what we've seen
in the state of Florida during this off election year,
where through the first third of the year Republicans had
grown their advantage over Democrats in this state by over
(06:36):
ninety three thousand additional voters. And while President Trump's One
Big Beautiful Bill Act now is in the hands of
the Senate, there's continued room for significant political upside for
Team Trump from here if Congress delivers on his agenda.
As it broke out last week, the President's agenda doesn't
(06:57):
it just mean keeping his existing tax policy, and it
actually means a lower overall tax burden still for approximately
ninety percent of Americans by the time they fy all
their taxes. Additionally, there are over twenty two plus million
Americans who would immediately benefit through the end of income taxes,
on tips and over time, and that is likely to
(07:19):
be met with additional positivity. You add in the resources
needed for President Trump to carry out his popular detention
and deportation plan, in addition to the resources necessary to
finish building the southern border wall, among many other things
that he is working on, there's reason to believe that
there is considerable room for political upside for President Trump
(07:42):
and the GOP from here. But first, as we are
talking about aggressive creatures, beware of the duck.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
This from a Florida neighborhood in Cape Quarrel.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
The Muscovie duck is terrorizing people living along a street
in Cape Coral, even trying to chase off reporters trying
to do their job.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
So was she one of the reporters. Yeah, you can
hear that. I'm not very happy with the ducks. I
was not able to I was not able to cover
the story. I was run off by a duck.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Randy Hildreth with WOFL in particular report.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
So anyway, I just thought that was funny.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
So, yeah, there is considerable room for political upside for
President Trump and the GP from here if they deliver.
Without getting into the weeds of economic forecasting, I did
a lot of research around this over the weekend because yeah,
I mean, this kind of stuff is fun for me.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
If the OBBB.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Is passed by Independence Day, which by the way, are
you are you back to being down with the OBBB?
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, you know me.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Okay, So if this gets done by Independence Day, which
is what Trump wants, and the average tariff rate charged
by the US at the end of the year is
not higher than it is today. We are averaging about
eighteen percent for what's being imported into the United States.
So if the average tariff rate is that or less
by the end of the year, I'm showing the US
(09:20):
with a greater than three percent growth rate for the
second half of the year, with the S and P
five hundred and about ten percent higher than it is
coming into trading today. And on that note, the Atlanta
Federal Reserves newest GDP NOW estimate that also comes out today,
and most recently it had been accelerating significantly, with expected
second quarter of growth pacing two point four percent.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
So if we have.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Lower taxes, a faster growth, economy, meaningful progress, and illegal
immigration and deportations which also lowers the rate of inflation
and reduces crime, and a record high stock market entering
next year's election year, the tortoises, slugs and slaws of
the political world might find themselves close to being relegated
(10:03):
to the weeks and the dustbin of political history. There's
obviously a lot that must break right, but the conditions
are set. And as I said, going back to November
twenty twenty one, when ill highlighted for the first time
the onset of the historical political shift with Vetter.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Demographics in this country.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
The re emergence of Trump represented the second coming of
the Reagan Revolution, which early on appears to be having
a similar impact politically in this country.
