Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to the Brian Mud Show. It's the info you
need to start your day in the Bomb Beaches and
the Treasure Coast. As we are tracking Trump to take
a look at all of the President's executive activity, and
it has been considerable. As of today, the President he's
almost signed as many executive orders as he did during
his entire first term two hundred and four as of today,
(00:27):
compared to two twenty during his first term in one
hundred and sixty two orders signed by President Biden and
team autopen. So it really has been his touric the
pace he's been moving at. President Trump has also signed
eighty two presidential proclamations, forty nine presidential memoranda, nine laws,
a lot of news involving him, including some stuff related
to executive orders he's issued over the past week. Big
(00:49):
development with the United States Supreme Court on tariffs. Here's
Fox's shared Halpern Justice.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Has agreed not just to take up the appeal, but
also put the case on the fast track. Arguments are
set for the first week of November. In a challenge
the President Trump's use of an emergency authority to implement
wide ranging tariffs, a group of small business owners and
states aursuing the administration, arguing the President exceeded his powers.
(01:13):
So far, lower courts have agreed. The Justice Department asked
for a quick intervention from the Supreme Court. President Trump
has warned a loss at the High Court would amount
to an economic catastrophe and potentially undo newly brokeered trade deals.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
On that note, the President's just made me full speed ahead,
because again the tariff order had been stayed pending the
appeal to the United States Supreme Court. So he's just
like where we're going. The Executive Order implementing the United
States Japan Agreement, signed it for the past week, and
again that just ratifies what they had already agreed to.
(01:49):
The executive Order modifying the scope of reciprocal tariffs and
establishing procedures for implementing trade and security agreements. Again, this
all the next steps and what he had are announced
in terms of tariff and trade policy with select nations.
He's just acting as though the lower court rulings had
not occurred. The executive order restoring the United States Department
(02:12):
of War that gained a lot of attention, renaming the
Department of Defense. The thing is will not take effect
if Congress does not go along with it the Executive
Order Strengthening Efforts to Protect US Nationals from Wrongful Detention Abroad.
This puts in place putitive actions towards countries that unlawfully
detain Americans. You know, we're just hearing about a hostage.
(02:36):
It's been taken for two years, a student that has
been released in a rock to our embassy by Hezbillah
and so aimed at preventing future situations like this.
