Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome to The Brian munt Show and thank you for listening.
It's time for today's top three takeaways. Helpful, useful, repeatable. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
I hope you had a great weekend and now there's
a lot of good stuff going on. We had some
some mostly peaceful protests right still going on. I think
the peaceful protesting straight through the night. Yeah, I mean,
just Joe, My question for you is this, how often
(00:44):
do you find yourself making it through the weekend without
looting at least a store or two.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
That's what I forgot to do this weekend. Oh my god,
I did some cleaning around the house this weekend. I
completely forgot to go out and loot.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
You didn't do the looting, no, I mean okay, Well,
well surely you said at least one.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Car on fire right now?
Speaker 1 (01:06):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Not this weekend? Have you thrown any steph at cops?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Well, what's wrong with you? Yeah? I'm not a protester.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
I don't even think I know you any of a Yeah,
neither are they.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
I'm not a peaceful protead.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
So just you can't annoying, can't make this stuff up.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
We've seen cars destroyed and set on fire, bottles and
rocks being thrown by protesters, highways shut down, those projectiles
being thrown at officers. We've also seen officers using smoke
bombs and flashbangs to disperse the large crowds. The LAPD
has declared an unlawful assembly, meaning anyone who stays in
the area can be arrested. President Trump taking over the
California National Guard against California Governor Gavin Newsom's wishes. He's
(01:48):
also threatening to send in about five hundred active duty
marines if things don't calm down. Newsom warning the moves
are and will only inflame and escalate tensions, and he's
urging demonstrators to stay calm.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Have been flamed and Newsome he's gonna be really careful
not to get too close to the scene.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
You know, they say he's there, I mean he gets
to close their product.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, hair's gonna go up quick. I mean, gotta be
careful about that. Hey, I have a question.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
So if you throw something at a cop and you're
not screaming when you do it?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Is that considered peaceful? I don't see why not?
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Okay, all right, just wonder I mean I clearly you can,
you know, set cars on fire, loot stores, and you're
still not writing at that point. So I mean a
little projectile at a cop. I mean again, who hasn't
done that at least every other weekend of their life?
Speaker 2 (02:37):
They've learned nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I mean not since the the mostly peaceful protesters as
CNN depicted as you saw the fire behind them in
the shot during the twenty twenty BLM riots. Not since
then have we seen in real time on display. Why
it is that your legacy news media has no credit, Billy,
(03:00):
and these people deserve absolutely no credibility. It is just
and I don't have any data on that yet. I'm
going to look forward throughout the day and I'll report
back to you tomorrow. But I will bet you overwhelmingly
people see through this. People already don't trust these people,
the news media, and then they're going to pull this
(03:21):
crap again. How many people are for illegal immigrants? How
many people are for things on behalf of the illegal
immigrants being set on fire, looted, and law enforcement and soldiers.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Having steff thrown at them. It just it is interesting.
I don't know if you saw Governor d. Santas's thoughts
on this. So he wrote on x that it's an
upside down world. Just really quick wanted to read this. Essentially,
he writes that foreigners illegally enter the US burn the
flag of the country in which they want to stay,
(03:56):
while waving the flag of the country.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
To which they refuse to return.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Oh, when you think about it, like troning, yeah, I mean,
well done, governor. So yeah, So we dive into my
takeaways a bit further beyond the b l A peaceful protests.
Trump versus Musk ended quickly. And by the way, Trump
is winning, I want you to think back. I mean
(04:23):
Trump actually already won big lely. You had a low
energy Jeb Little Marco still gets a kick out of
this again. Crooked Hillary, the deep state, the impeachments, the
January sixth Committee, the law fair campaign, Ron, the sanctimonious
speaking at the governor, slow Joe, crazy Cotola, and now
(04:47):
you could add I guess I don't know the other
rocket Man.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
See, Trump doesn't.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Actually have a nickname for Elon Musk. So I was thinking,
what would an appropriate nickname for Elon bef Trump?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
And I was thinking the other eye in Trump's I
mean in Musks. It would be a compliment, right potentially.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah, So at first glance, you might take a look
at the Battle Royale that escalated quickly last week between
President Trump and Elon Musk and think, you know what,
couldn't possibly be any winners here, aside from potentially Democrats
sitting back with popcorn just watching this thing happen and
you know, praying that the presidents would they don't pray,
but just watching the president's agenda implode from within. But
(05:30):
if any of us have learned anything about Donald Trump
and his personal or political life, is that he might
lose occasional battles. You know, he always wins the war always.
You know, some wins come quicker than others. And it
was on Friday I first implied that the remarkable dispute
that went from zero to Jeffrey Epstein's territory within a
(05:51):
few hours may have actually done Trump a hugely important favor.
As I mentioned on Friday, Elon probably did Trump with
favor by going full nuclear on him. Had he simply
opposed the dab the Diabolical Bill. There's a strong chance
that he might have been able to kill it given
the significant influence that he had grown in GOP circles.
(06:13):
But now that he's gone to that place, he gives
Gio Peers the political freedom to act independently of his opinions.
And the bond between President Trump and his supporters is
far far greater than the affinity that had grown from
Elon within the GOP. So yeah, even with Trump in
the middle of the Battle Royale with Musk, he'd already
(06:33):
achieved a strategic advantage he needed by Musk overplaying his
hand by effectively stating that Trump had stuff in common
with Michael Jackson and what he did at the Neverland Ranch.
But over the weekend, the winds kept coming for Trump
in the feud. Musk got back to posting about SpaceX
(06:57):
in Tesla exclusively. Save a couple of reposts about Argentinian
President Ivy or Melae, whom I do have a man
crush on because he's just amazing, and one from Senator
Mike Lee, there was nothing targeting Trump over the weekend
except a d escalation. On that note, it was also
(07:19):
on Friday that I mentioned. I really don't know how
you could ever walk back the statement that, yeah, by
the way, uh, Trump was in the Epstein files. That's
the reason there wasn't full disclosure, hasn't been a cheat
yet Well kiddingen d. The point beyond the question remains.
(07:41):
But the most literal sense, you didn't have elin trying
to walk it back. There was just kind of like
a total deleting of this situation, as in Musk deleting
the related inflammatory posts that he made about Trump and
Epstein on Thursday. And I guess it was just kind
of like, nothing is the hear folks. Takes me to
(08:05):
my second takeaway, Nothing to the ear folks, just pretend
as though I elon Musk never posted anything about Trump
feenling to Epstein that way. On this note, Office of
Management and Budget Director Russ Vote on Fox New Sunday yesterday, the.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
President's moving moving on.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
I think the president and all of these headlines are
are missing the fact that the president is the leader
of this administration and the one that is driving the agenda.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Right. So here's the other bigly important thing.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
There had been fear by many on the right that
must fight suddenly decide out of retribution in the few
to back Democrats instead. As I suggested on Friday, that
was unlikely to be the case because in reality, I mean, shoot,
he had become more fiscally conservative than the president and
most Republicans.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
The reposting of one of the.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Most considerate conservative senators in Mike Lee and praise for
President and Melee, whom is the most impressive and successful
physical conservative in the world, that is a clear cut
sign that he's not turning left. So this is why
Trump has won almost immediately and extremely decisively. Musk's nuclear
(09:15):
maneuver put an end to his grip on many in
the GOP, providing cover and a much clearer path for
the OBBB. Musk has now attempted to make the nuclear
launch just kind of like disappear in a de escalation
of hostilities, and Musk is back to focusing on his
core competencies, which by the way, are also part of
President Trump's big picture objectives specifically allowed to SpaceX stuff.
(09:40):
So when Trump came down the escalator pulling out one percent,
did you give them much of a chance being president?
When the Access Hollywood tape dropped just before the twenty
sixteen election. Did you think that was the final nail
on the coffin? When Trump lost the twenty twenty election
and then January sixth happened, did you think he would
subsequently win the biggest election victory by a member of
(10:02):
the GOP since the nineteen eighties. Did you think when
the stock mark is sold off by twenty percent after
April's Liberation Day tariffs, that we've been talking about the
potential for the S and P five hundred to hit
an all time high this week. Did you think last
Thursday afternoon that what Musk did would immediately work to
Trump's advantage. Trump's ability to thrive in the face of adversity,
(10:27):
it's unlike anything that we've ever seen. Every single time,
it's remarkable. You know what else is remarkable shrinkage. I'm
not talking about George Casantrasa, you know, style shrinkage here now,
I'm talking about a trade deficit shrinkage. Speaking of which,
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt with Maria Bartromo yesterday
(10:49):
Sunday Morning Futures.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
We want China in the United States to continue moving
forward with the agreement that was struck in Geneva. The
administration has been monitoring China's compliance with the deal, and
we hope that this will move forward to have more
comprehensive trade.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Talk as we continue in my top three takeaways today.
Good morning, I hope it is for you. Speaking of
Trump's wins and the financial markets. President Trump has only
completed a couple new trade deals, but already the tariffs
effectively done over half of what his primary purpose, beyond
all of it was designed to do.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
What was the number one purpose?
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Eliminate the US trade debt, the deficit, and get this,
Trump's already more than halfway dot there. The Commerce Department
reported that April's trade deficit dropped by what do you think,
fifty six percent? Fifty six percent. In fact, when was
the last time that April's trade deficit was as low
as it was this year? You have to go back
(11:46):
to twenty twenty, when, obviously April twenty twenty, very little
shipping around the world was taking place at the onset
of the pandemic. So Trump is winning the trade war two,
and he doesn't appear to be tired of winning. Joel
looks like he might be maybe a little.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
Bit today, No, just tired in general, Okay, so it's
not not the winner winning now, okay, well that's good.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
I'm glad you're not tired of winning.
