Speaker 1 (00:04):
The news you need to start your day in the
bomb Beach, is at the Treasure Coast. This is the
Brian Mud Show. It is. And we're going to take
a look at better registration updates for some of our
key counties or local counties. Also, we have a new
update that's speaking of voting and speaking of district's territories.

(00:25):
The state, we're going to have new maps. It looks
like there's going to be an effort at this Governor
de Santis saying that this spring he's going to call
a special session. Box is Carbon Roberts with the details.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Florida joins what some label a redistricting arms race to
redraw congressional districts ahead of the midterm elections. GOP Governor
Ron de Santa says he's calling a special session of
the Republican Legislature and explain why he's waiting until late April.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
There's a Supreme Court decision that's going to affect the
validity of some of these districts nationwide, including some of
the districts in the state of Florida.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
While President Trump is pushing GOP liedestates to withdraw their
congressional maps to benefit Republicans. Governor to Santa says, Florida
has a real need to update its maps.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
We've had ten years of population change and just since
COVID easy.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
We'll see where it goes. And I have but one request.
Whatever outcome results in the president and made for that matter,
not being represented by Lois Frankel. That's the it's the
one must and all that. So I brought you the
veter registration update earlier this week, and what we saw
is a yet again, over the past month, Republican momentum continued.

(01:40):
Republicans netted close to ten thousand more voters over the
past month of Democrats. Yet again, the Republican advantage over
Democrats now well over one point four million voters. And
so many of the storylines have not necessarily been red
counties in the state running up the score with increased

(02:01):
voter registrations, although it's been part of it, but it's
been that the once big blue counties in some cases
are no longer blue anymore, like Hillsborough and Miami Dad
that flipped last year, or the ones that are still
blue are at risk of flipping, maybe as soon as
this year. For example, counties like Duval Osceola and Palm
Beach County. So let's start in Palm Beach County. At

(02:24):
the peak of the Democrats advantage in the Palm Beaches,
the advantage was one hundred and thirty eight four hundred voters.
That is now down to fourteen thousand, six hundred and
fifty five. Republicans netted another eight hundred and fifteen voters
in the Palm Beaches over the previous month. Palm Beach
County could potentially flip at some point this year if

(02:45):
the trends hold heading into the midterm cycle. Republicans gained
ground in Duvall over the past month. The Democrat advantage
is now at a record low at under forty six
hundred voters there. We continue to see Republicans make gains
in Hillsborough County, Indian Reverick County, Martin Miami Dade another
big gain for Republicans there at the past month. The

(03:06):
one place where Democrats had a better month Aziola. It
was only by a little bit, but the Democrat advantage
of Republicans back up to about twelve one hundred voters.
Democrats netted fifty two there, so the trend line remains intact.
And the bigger storylines. For the most part, the side
of Azila over the past month remain intact as well.
