Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, sure enough. AI in the workplace? AI in the workplace?
What do you think of AI in the workplace? What
comes to mind, Joel?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
What do you think of I think that robot that
replaces me better not be better looking.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
That is your big concern. But yeah, I did pick
up that you think you're going to be replaced by
a rhythm.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
I think there's maybe not a robot, but you know, yeah,
AI in general, I think eventually Okay.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
So Michigan Congressman John Malar, in a recent hearing on AI,
have this to say about it.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
AI is not just another tech breakthrough. It will shape
our economy, our military, our diplomacy, and our national security
for decades to come.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Will it be taking your job? You know? When you
think of AI becoming part of everyday life in the workplace,
is that what you think of? And the answer for
actually most people is yeah, I'm at least concerned about
that happening. Peer Research Center study found fifty two percent
of Americans we're worried about the impact of AI in
(01:25):
their workplace, with additional research showing that thirty four percent
think that the robot or the algorithm whatever coming for
their job, that AI will replace their job entirely in
the workplace. Well in time, there's no doubt that a
bunch of changes to the workplace due to AI will happen.
(01:45):
Many already have started, and there's no doubt that some
jobs will end up going away because of the technologlogical changes.
But actually, for those that have begun to use AI
in the workplace is what it's been a net pose
and that's not according to the employers. A new study
entitled Artificial Intelligence and the well Being of work Workers
(02:07):
following the impact of AI in the workplace. It ended
up finding with eighteen thousand, five hundred employees studied across
various industries, eighty percent of employees benefited. They said they
benefited from its use. In fact, they reported higher job satisfaction,
(02:28):
better physical health, greater efficiency leading to slightly fewer hours
worked without any negative impact on wages. And what this
shows is that there likely is going to be a
situation where AI becomes a creedive to the overall work
environment for many people. Remember, for example, how the advent
(02:49):
of consumer Internet was going to theoretically eliminate just about
all retail and you know, so many jobs to go.
Could you imagine going back to reforming your job with
alt the Internet? No? And there you go.
