Tap room off Herndon in one sixtyeight. I mean, the roof has
zero leaks. It's comfortable in here. There's a nice crowd. They've got
food trucks in the parking lot. There's not even puddles in the parking lot
that I noticed. And the foodtrucks tonight are Growbox Sushi and Nanobyites with
your dessert. And we're talking Bulldogsbasketball. That's what's on the menu tonight.

(00:22):
Big home game coming up Saturday night, seven o'clock, the only meeting
this year with Colorado State, whofeatures the preseason Conference Player of the Year
in Isaiah Stevens, and the Bulldogslast home game was a ton of fun
against the Air Force Falcons last Saturday. In fact, that marked the first
career double double for a young mannamed Enoch Bowatchie, who backed that up
with another double double at UNLV theother night, and he's going to back

(00:46):
it up with his first parents hereat Crowing Wolf tonight. So we're looking
forward to talking to Enoch in thesecond half of the show. In the
first half of the show, we'vegot assistant coach Von Webb, who did
such a great job last time hewas here. We wanted him back that
and and the head coach had alittle bit of a knee problem tonight.
Coach Hudson, man, he can'tcatch a break. Coach, He's he's

(01:07):
really been hurting physically this year andkind of like Eduardo Andre playing through the
knee pain. Coach Huts got areal bad need tonight. His knee is
terrible. He's he has had somuch, so much bad luck. Uh,
physically it's it's it's ununbelievable. Buthe could barely walk. I mean

(01:27):
he can't. He didn't even standup. Yeah, and he had to
use crutches. So you know, when it rains, it pors. Literally
it's today, it is literally raining, it is pouring, and for the
Bulldogs, it's been that kind ofseason as far as encountering adversity. But
I'm sure you've been around teams, coach, we're talking to assistant coach vond
Web where sometimes it took going througha whole lot of things you didn't expect

(01:49):
to really realize what that team wasmade of and what a group of young
men was capable of. You're onecorrect, I definitely have been through this
before. And when your weather justgood things usually happen in the end,
because you never you can't control it. There's things you can't control. You
just deal with it. You dealwith and you learn from it. As
you learn from it, you growfrom and as you grow from it,
you come together. And that's whatthese young men have been doing. And

(02:12):
I've watched our guys compete, getbetter, compete, get better, compete,
get better. And I'm looking forwardto the second half of the season,
you know, as we go.Yeah, after this game against Colorado
State Saturday night, you'll be atthe halfway point of the Mountain West season.
And I do want to talk aboutthe game in Vegas Tuesday night a
little bit. I asked coach Hutt, you know who couldn't be here tonight

(02:36):
because severe knee paint. He's inas Coach web just said, he's on
crutches. We hope he's able to, you know, stomp up and down
the sideline on Saturday when the Ramscome in with Isaiah Stevens, the preseason
player of the year in the league. I asked him, you know,
what to say about the game andTuesday if there was anything he wanted to
pass on. And the first thinghe said was the ten worst minutes of
basketball he's seen. That was thestart of the game. You guys came

(02:59):
out really, Oh my god,I'll never say that was that was bad.
I mean, it really truly was. And you go, it can't
get worse than this. It onlyhas to get better, you know,
and which is actually really good. We've never played that poorly offensive. We
looked like we were scared our ownshadow, you know, at some point,
and and we didn't execute, Wedidn't play together, we didn't look
for each other. We didn't didn'tscreen, didn't cut, didn't pass,

(03:21):
it didn't we just didn't do anythingthrough the ball to What we did was
throw the ball to the other teamfifteen first after Yeah, we threw the
ball to them, and and that, you know, and then things got
better. Our guys settled down andgot themselves, you know. They after
at halftime they had a little talk, and those guys came out and played
a little bit better than the secondhalf. And I guess that's the question
I have to ask. And ifyou had all the answers, obviously,

(03:42):
maybe it wouldn't have happened right rightright, you know, how does how
does that happen? How does thatflat of a start, you know,
to fall behind twenty to five outof the gate. Have you figured out
why that happened? And what didyou guys do to wake them up to
the point that when this guy Enochthrew it down made it one point game.
And then second well, I'll tellyou what we didn't. We didn't
have to do a whole lot. They kind of they kind of took on

(04:05):
us on themselves. Isaiah, he'llstepped up and was a leader as he
normally is, and everyone else justsent tended to follow his leadership from that
point forward. It wasn't a wholelot more that we could do. We
couldn't. What were you gonna tellthem? You know, there wasn't a
thing scheme wise. It was justlike, okay, we're not playing basketball,
and so they had to get theirhead out of there, keister and

(04:26):
come out and play, you know, technical technical term. We're talking to
assistant coach von Webb. Enoch.Boachi is here as well. We're here
till seven o'clock at Crow and Wolf. Yeah, Crowing Wolf's open when it's
raining. It's a great place tocome hang out when it's raining. I
don't know if they have trivia goingtonight. Last time we were here,
they had trivia right when we weredone. I know they've got a bunch
of different things for you to drink. They've got the sushi truck in the

(04:47):
parking lot, the dessert truck inthe parking lot. And we're talking bulldog
hoops till seven o'clock. We'll getto Enoch in a little while. I've
got a couple of questions already comingin for Enoch Boachi. Do you have
a question, Coach von Webb. You can cent it our way, use
the hashtag ask fs if you're onTwitter or that x app. You know
that Vegas game the other night.I do want to talk to you a

(05:08):
little bit more about it. Ikind of felt going in it might be
an uphill climb for the Dogs givenwhat they were celebrating that night in Vegas.
Forty years the Thomas and Mack guyslike Danny Tarkanian and Eric Booker were
back celebrating some of their first teamsin that arena. It was also the
first chance your team had to goup against UNLV's new talent. And there

(05:29):
seems to be new frontline guys inVegas every year, and this year they
brought in the Boone brothers, Keelanand Kleeb, and at different stretches of
that game, both of them werea little too much to handle. What
was your impression first time going toeto toe with that tandem. Well,
you know what, we're not mistaken. Weren't they at Pacific last year?
Keelan was Walem was in Oklahoma stateisode. The one with the braids was at

(05:53):
Pacific. The Romans scored twenty points. Was at Oklahoma State. Yeah,
you know, and them two togetherare pretty good. Now, you know,
they're not bad at all. Andour guys, I think our match
up with them, but they theycame ready to play, and uh,
they're talented. They're in the veryrespectful young men is what they are,
because they're won't with the braids.Came up to me before the game.

(06:14):
He goes coaching. You know, all these talked. We were talking about
last year and the whole nine yardsand everything and then but he was very
very nice, very respectful even afterthe game. But those those kids can
play. Those kids can play.I don't take nothing from him. They
came ready to play, and thenour guys when they decided they were going
to play, they did, uhthink he need a little bit more help,
you know, down the stretch, and he didn't get that. But

(06:39):
I know Edwardo's mee was not feelingwell, you know he was. He
was hobbling on it and was movingvery slow and very tentative, and he
got himself in foul trouble and itmade it difficult. He and I can't
do it by himself. The guysgot to step up and help. If
our guys do that, when theydo step up up each other, we're
not too bad. We can competewith anybody in this conference well. And
there are some samples that certainly demonstthat. And we're going to get to

(07:00):
previewing Saturday's matchup with Colorado State. That's a seven o'clock tip at the save
Maart Center. You can get yourtickets now, go Bulldogs dot com two
seven eight dogs. The baby Raceis happening at halftime on Saturday. Have
you ever seen the baby race?Coaching always in the locker room. I'm
in the locker room. But I'veheard I've heard good story, they heard
funny stories about it, but I'venever seen it. It's highly unpredictable,

(07:23):
that is for sure. Highly unpredictable, kind of like your team this year
a little bit right. I meanthere's been some ups and downs, as
you said, at times you playedwith anyone in the league, evidenced by
that huge comeback against Boise State, who just wanted to pit by the way.
Yeah, with thirty five from MaxRice, I do want to talk
to you a little more about theUNLV game because fans will have their chance
not too long from now, lessthan two weeks away Valentine's Night. In

(07:45):
fact, UNLV is coming to theSave Mart Center an eight o'clock tip on
Valentine's Night. So make those planswith you, sweetheart right now. Ladies,
if you're guys a basketball fan,get them tickets to the game.
That's the way you do it.And guys, if your lady's not a
basketball fan yet, what are youwaiting for? Introduced him to a little
hoops up there at the same MarkCenter February fourteenth, eight o'clock against UNLV.

(08:07):
Fans will see those Boone brothers. They'll also see a freshman point guard
for UNLV, Indedaon Thomas Junior, who you'd never know was a freshman if
you just showed up and watched thegame. Was that young man pois or
what he had so much poison? His crazy part. I've been knowing d
Down since he was a youngster, and you know, his dad played out
there. His dad was a prettygood player, yep. And he played

(08:28):
on the team out of San Diegowhen I had the Jalen Greeney Leap program
he had. He played for dreamVision, Okay, And the first time
we played him, I think webeat him twelve to fifteen something like that.
Next thing, he wasn't there,he was hurt. He came back
off an injury and it was thesecond half of the of the the travel

(08:50):
season. Yeah, I think hegave us forty two or something like that.
I mean, he was just sonice. But he plays for such
a good pace and he just makeseverybody else bet doesn't force any thing.
You don't rattling, you don't throwthe ball away. He takes smart shots.
He's just very, very poised basketballplayer, and he does not play
like a freshman. Yeah. Soit'll be a challenge when the Rebels come

(09:11):
here, but challenge the Bulldogs willbe ready for for that rematch on February
fourteenth. You can get your ticketsright now and you can get those tickets
for Saturday night at seven o'clock tipagainst Colorado State. We're going to break
down that matchup with coach Von Webbwhen we come back. Still to come.
Enoch Bowachie jumps aboard. If you'venever met him, you want to
come see just how big that handis that swatted that shot like it was

Wolf tap Room in right off ofHerndon in one sixty eight. Beautiful place
to come on a rainy Central Valleyevening. Food trucks are in the parking
lot. You can get sushi, you can get dessert. Of course,
it's a tap room, so youknow what that means inside and we're here
till seven o'clock tonight talking Bulldog basketball. We've got assistant coach von web Pinch
hitting for Justin Hudson, who's oncrutches today. He's really been going through

(13:20):
it physically and we certainly hope he'sall good for Saturday night at seven o'clock
when Colorado State comes to town. The Rams have been in the national rankings.
They've got the top player in theleague in Isaiah Stevens, the fifth
year senior point guard who might havebeen a unanimous choice for preseason player a
year in the conference. I didn'tsee the voting, but I know I
voted for him, and I don'tsee why anyone wouldn't vote for him.

(13:43):
Let's talk about him for a secondwith assistant coach Von Webb in a little
bit. We'll get Enoch Bowachie jumpingaboard with us as well. If you've
got questions for either, gentlemen, you can send him our way online use
that hashtag ask fs if you're onTwitter or what they call the x app
these days, which web. IsaiahStevens. You've seen him for a while.

(14:03):
What makes him so special? Whatmakes him so tough to beat?
Because that's it. I mean,it's he's tough to beat. He makes
winning plays. He finds a wayto lead his team to victory. Yes,
you know Isaiah's is I would justI would call him a winner.
You know, he's a winner andhe's a fighter. He has a supreme
confidence. He's not even six feetbut you know he plays like he's six

(14:24):
' five. Sure does when he'son the floor. That's what. That's
how, that's how you see him, because he just all the confidence in
the world. You know, he'svery respectful, plays hard, leads his
team and knowing people that know Isaiah, that's what they've always said, he
said, he's always been a leader. He's a consummate leader, and he's
the best worker on the team. That's just who he is, you know.

(14:46):
And those are the kind of coach, those kind of players. As
a coach you love to have.If you have those kind of players,
you know you got a chance tobe successful. And that young man has
done it. You know, he'smade big shots. He's taking big shots.
He wants the ball in his handswhen the money's on the line.
I mean, that's just who heis. That's his DNA. And Nico
Medved clearly a good coach. They'rea well coached team. The way they

(15:07):
share the ball, their offensive efficiencyhas been impressive for years. Isaiah Stevens
doesn't have a David Roddy with himon that team anymore. But what he
does have is something interesting, alittle different philosophy. And I'm interested in
your take on this what Nico Medvedhas done there. He's gone out to
get key players from outside of Divisionone basketball so his post player that Enoch's

(15:30):
going to be matching up with anddealing with the forty year old footwork for
a guy in his twenties. AndPatrick Cardier on Saturday Night got him from
Division two Hillsdale College. You gotJoe Palmer comes off the bench with a
D three player. Joel Scott, who he added this year is another D
two player. So three of theirregulars are guys who were starters and showed

(15:50):
that they could handle less than Divisionone basketball. But now they're playing at
the D one level. It's kindof unique, is unique, but I
think the key to it is probablya test into their work ethic. You
know those kids, and they werealso probably overlooked coming out of high school.
And you know, because a lotof guys do not recruit the high
school seniors, right, they justdon't do it. But they'll they'll look
at kids, and when you likethem, you seem like, okay,

(16:11):
let me see what happens to Let'skeep an eye on them, and you
recruit them a little bit for thebounce back. Back in the day,
that's what we used to do.But now if they you know, you
recruit them a little bit, andif they go to a D two and
they have success, and you knowthe kid, you know what he's capable
of, and you feel he couldfit in your style of play. Then
you go get them and that kid, uh Cardier. It played well against

(16:32):
us last year every time we playedthem. Man, you know, he
just came right from D two,but he was a D two All American.
But still yet And I don't thinkthat the level of play dictates how
good a players can play, whathe can do on the floor. It
doesn't really, you know it doessometimes it doesn't translate just because of the
D two plays. I mean,no, I I've seen guys playing an
AIA go play Division one and goto work and play basketball just no matter

(16:52):
of what SYSTEMIA. And like theNico does a great job offensively. Those
guys fit his style of play, and he recruited to his dollar play well.
And he's got the ultimate facilitator inIsaiah Stevens. And that's one thing
that's impressed me about him. Evenfrom his freshman year. You can see
how gifted he was and know hecould probably score twenty five a game if

(17:15):
he wanted to, But a lotof times he might go the whole first
half without looking for his own shot, just getting everybody else feeling good.
Oh. I was just telling somebodythat today because I was watching film yesterday
and day before, the before, and I'm going this guy here, he
picks and chooses when he decides hereally wants to go, turn it up
and play. That's what he doesbecause he's not selfish. He's very unselfish.

(17:36):
He's very team oriented. But whenhe feels this team needs him to
step up and get it done, that's when he'll start going to work and
they'll give him the ball, lethim go. You know, they'll make
sure that he gets it. Sothat's what you got to be ready for
because anytime he can turn it on. So how do you coach up the
Bulldogs defensively to deal with the guy? Are there some things that you can
do to disrupt him a little bit? I mean, he looks like the

(17:57):
guy who's never rattled, who canmake the tough off balance forty foot or
to win a game because he hasa few times. But are there some
things maybe you can do to disrupthim and throw them out of their rhythm
that they're so good at establishing.Yeah, yeah, you know, you
change the scheme up a little bithere and there, do some different things.
You can keep somebody in his faceperiodically. You can be a little
bit more physical with him, youknow. You can take things away from

(18:18):
the top of like don't let himget the ball from time to time.
Make it more difficult for him tobe able to just go flow and play
and make make other people step upand play the game, you know,
and just don't let him get comfortableif he's not comfortable, if you make
him uncomfortable, make him get comfortablewith being uncomfortable, because if you don't
let him just do what he wants, he's not He's not He ain't Jesus

(18:40):
out there on the court. Youknow, he's still man, you know,
so we just try to put somepressure on a little bit. You
know, I don't think I everthought about that. And Jesus were on
the court, What does his gamelook like? Oh, he's not missing,
come on, man, but hemight turn the other cheeks. There's
a whole bunch of places we couldgo with that. But what we're hoping

(19:03):
is that we see you at theSave Mart Center Saturday night at seven o'clock.
A home court advantage could make abig difference. It was a very
energetic crowd against Air Force and theDogs one by fourteen. In just a
few minutes, we're going to talkto the star of that game, Enoch
BOLWATCHI, who had a breakout doubledouble against the Falcons then did the same
trick against UNLV and block five shots. I think one of them might still

(19:25):
be bouncing toward the sphere over therein Vegas because he spiked it so hard.
We'll talk to Enoch in a bit. I see some questions coming in
on Twitter for him. Maybe havea question for Coach Web before we wrap
up with him. When we comeback, I want to talk to him
about something very near and dear tohis heart. It's a little bigger,
a well a lot bigger than basketball. And we'll also talk about that matchup

(19:45):
Saturday night with Colorado State. It'sthe Bulldog Basketball Hour here at the Crow

welcome back to the Bulldog Basketball Hour. We're hanging out here at Crow
and Wolf. It's high and dryinside. Well drive from a rain perspective,

(23:10):
I suppose with what's served here onthe menu, it's a little different
connotation. But it's raining outside,it's nice and warm inside, and we're
talking Bulldog basketball. The Dogs hopingto heat up against Colorado State Saturday night,
seven o'clock at the Save Mart Centeronly regular season meeting between Fresno State
and Colorado State, so obviously thewinner of that head to head matchup would

(23:30):
have a tiebreaker when it comes toseating implications for the conference tournament in Las
Vegas in March. Preseason player ofthe Year Isaiah Stevens will be here.
The Rams also have a guy who'spretty fun to watch who transferred from Colorado
in Nieck Clifford, whose arms looklike they're as long as Enoch Boachis,
don't they coach? Have you seena guy six six who's got that kind
of wingspan? You know, it'scrazy. We were talking about him in

(23:55):
pre practice today in our meetings, and that kid is and long and active.
Yeah, he's always active. He'sreaching ins and he goes get rebound.
Looks like his arm just keeps tretching. Usdroud like, come home,
man, you gotta mature. Heput a body on this guy because he's
long and he's very, very active, you know. So it's going to
be interesting with him because he's anotherhe's a big threat. He's got those

(24:18):
go go gadget arms. He alsohas been a little foul prone, so
maybe the Bulldogs can get him ina little foul trouble on Saturday night at
seven o'clock, we're talking to assistantcoach Vnwebb, pitch hitting for coach Hut
tonight, who's dealing with some injuriesof his own on a team that's had
its injury bug this season. Sowe certainly hope Coach Hutt has a speedy
recovery and is out there Saturday nightat seven o'clock when the dog shows Colorado

(24:38):
State, we're gonna hear from EnochBowatchie the Bulldogs breakout start the last couple
of games. Let's talk about Enochcoach Okay, because you know, early
in the year we can see theathletic ability. We can see that he's
really explosive, but especially on theoffensive end, you could tell he was
still trying to get a feel thefield. He's displayed the last up games

(25:00):
is light years beyond the first coupleof weeks of the season. How do
you account for that? What's madethe difference for the big man hard work.
He works harder than most players, any player I think I've seen here
in the last two years. He'she puts extra time in. That's what
he does. And you're right hewas. Initially I was so concerned about

(25:21):
him being able to score a basketballover the post. I was just like,
ahm, I get his feet, you know, was like watching the
guy at at the party that standson the wall because he can't dance.
You know, you aint me,Oh sorry, but he just going.
Man, he didn't, he didn't. He didn't understand the movie. His
feeding up positioned his body and awhole that. But because of Titus and
and and George, those guys workwith the posts, and they with him

(25:45):
every day, every day, everyday, every day, and they're going
at it every day every day.And Eli takes it and they're all over
him. You know, we're allall over him. But he takes it.
And he's gotten better and better andthe best is yet to come.
I mean, he's just now, just now starting to figure things out offensively.
Defensively, he's ahead of the game. He had five four or five

(26:06):
deflections the other night. And there'swhy I keep keep track of that.
And I was so proud of him. I'm like, okay, so,
but that builds his confidence. Andwhen his confidence comes defensively offensively, he
gets better. And that's that's reallyhow it should be, you know,
it should be about that defensive inthe floor first and then offense. But
I tell him before every game,I'm gonna ask you to ask him what
word I tell him. I givehim a word before every game. I'm

(26:27):
not gonna I'm not gonna say I'mgonna let you ask him to see what
he says. See if you Isay it to him before every game.
And when he does that, that'swhen he plays so well. I'm so
proud of him. I'm so veryproud of him. Well, we will
ask him here momentarily, but beforewe let you go and let you enjoy
the rest of the night. Hereat Crowl Wolf Tapper right off of one
sixty eight and Herndon. Here inClovis, we're talking to coach vond Webb.

(26:51):
You know, I saw something onlinetoday. They were promoting a story
that's going to be on television.Earlier this year, you contributed to a
public service and now there's really anepidemic in our community and in our country
that unfortunately hit closer to home thanyou wanted it. To tell me about
how you're honoring your son's memory andwhat the message is that you're trying to

(27:14):
get out there, Well, youknow, it is an epidemic and in
Femnol is here. It's it's killingmany, many, many, many of
our youth, are our young adults, even adults. It's just it's it's
in the streets. It's here. And for Mession, my mission is going

(27:36):
to be to get the message outthere to anyone that will listen, anyone
that will hear, how important itis to not mess with this stuff,
to be alert, be aware, know what it is, and know as
much about it as you can.Become as educated as possible about this drug,
because it's deadly, doesn't take much. A granual assault of fetnol will
kill you, will kill more thanone person, more than five people.

(27:59):
It's ridiculous, it really truly is. But it's here. And a good
friend, Lisa Smith Camp, youknow, we've had many multiple conversations about
this, and she's she's doing she'sproposal legislation to try to make it more
stiffer on people who get caught sellingthis stuff to people who actually die from
it, you know, making ita second degree murder charge on them,

(28:21):
you know, And I agree withthat wholeheartedly. Losing my son was a
very difficult thing, but it's there, it's out here, and and I
honored his memory. I'm going todo as much as I can to bring
awareness of this wherever and whenever howeverI can. And that's part of where
part of my mission, well,it's going to be my mission moving forward.
Well, and that's a life savingmission, and I'm sure it means

(28:41):
a lot to all the other familieswho've been touched by this the same way
you have. So thank you forhaving the courage and transparency to put that
out there and make a difference theway you are. Yeah, thank you.
I appreciate that. Coach Vaughn Webbwith us here at crowan Wolf will
get to Enoch BOWATCHI in a moment, but I'm going to put you on
a spot, Coach, to introduceEnoch, who's coming up right after this

(29:03):
break. I need you to tellme of all the dunks he's thrown down
in the last two games, andI don't know if you can remember all
of them. There's about ten inthe last two games. Is there one
that as well as you know him, man, as gifted as you know
he is, even made you saywow or raise your eyebrows a little bit
like you weren't sure he could pullthat off. You know what, I

(29:26):
can't remember one in particular. Ijust loves it. I love it because
I know he's great in the pickand roll, right, so he jumps
so well. I always tell meit seems like he got a rocket back
there. You know, he justtakes off. But you know, I
love it when he just gets itand goes up in the crowd and finishes
on top of people's head in thecrowds. I mean that because that means
he's playing strong. That means he'splaying strong, he's playing physical, he's

(29:48):
aggressive. The libs, okay, that was are great, But just to
get it and go up and finish. I'm yelling at him, you know,
I'm screaming at and he just whenhe does that, that makes me
feel good. You're saying, you'remore impressed. You know, the lobs
are fun, but that for him, that's a little easier. You're saying
if he gets it in the halfcourt set with a defender on his back

(30:10):
or in front of him, ora guy on either side of him,
and he just powers up and says, I don't care who's there, I'm
gonna dunk it anyway. That thoseare my favorites right there, because that
lets me know he's ready to play, you know. Catching the lob,
yeah, piece of cake, youknow, but catching and dunking on somebody
for real, for real with acrowd around you. That makes my day.

(30:30):
And a lot of that's a mentality, is it. Oh, it's
all about mentality. And he knowsthat he's stigging it out. I'm so
proud of it. I'm telling him, so proud of him. He's come
so far. He has a longways to go, don't get it twisted,
but he's come so far. Isee nothing but a bright future for
this young man. I really trulydo last question and you said nothing but

(30:51):
glow he thinks about Enoch. Healso has a really nice head of hair.
Did you ever have hair quite thatimpressive? Coach Webb? Nothing long,
but I had a nice little frownof all that was cool with it,
you know, all right now itdidn't look like that. We comb
our hair back then. Guy thereevery day man, you just had to

(31:11):
keep it r I'm with that.Hey, thanks for coming out. Always

Now, what'd you get from thefood truck tonight? Hen if I
can remember, I got the goldenGolden Dragon. Yeah, the golden Dragon.

(35:15):
Was it fiery? Yeah? Itwas? It was? It was
amazing, It was good. Iliked it. So got a lot to
cover with you and not too muchtime. We've got a couple of questions
coming in on Twitter. If youguys haven't seen Enoch play, you're missing
out. He's the six to elevenjunior from Brampton, Ontario, Canada who
transferred to the Valley from Arizona State, and he's coming off back to back

(35:37):
double doubles. Helped the Dogs beatair Force by fourteen points and then in
Vegas on Tuesday night sixteen points, ten rebounds, three steals, and five
blocks. Those last two numbers werecareer highs for the big man, and
Coach Webb said, there's one wordthat he says to you before every game

(35:57):
that he thinks is helping you focuson the right mental approach to the game.
Do you want to reveal what thatone word is? Yeah? Would
you would you like to take aguest before I reveal it? Dominate?
Yes? Is it really? That'sthat's the word that I was flat out
guess and I had no idea. But that's what you've done, you know,

(36:21):
and and you and I talked aboutit in Laramie at elevation. How
you get a little extra lyft, not that you really need it, but
I've seen you it seems like thelast few games there's a different level of
confidence that you're playing with. What'smade the difference for you to know what
you're capable of or know that youcan do something that maybe you didn't try
before. It's funny because it reallystarts on defense. It starts on defense.

(36:47):
And when I know what I'm doingon defense, that confidence that I
have on defense, knowing that, you know, if the shot goes up
mean but I might block it,or if I don't block it, I
know that I'm gonna hit my manand get say, you make sure I
keep the team to one possession. That translates onto the offensive. And you
know, so it's like they camedown on us, we shut your water

(37:07):
off. Now we're coming down. And we were a pretty good offensive team
in my opinion, So I don'tthink you're gonna shut our water off.
So that's how I see it.You know, I'm hearing you say that.
I'm thinking that might be something Ican work into the broadcast with Coach
Q one of these nights shutting somebody'swater off. Yeah, you know,

(37:29):
and that the one block you hadthe other night that proceeded a technical foul
called on number thirteen for Fresno State, I think did more than shut the
water off. It like broke allthe pipes, flooded the Hall street.
What happened there on that play?Because I mean, to me, it
looked like you were slapping a buzzeron a game show or playing Whack a

(37:51):
mole or I mean, it waslike the ball seemed like it was half
the size of your palm the wayyou smashed it out of bounds. There
walk us through that play and whyyou ended up getting teed up. So
before I blocked it. It's weirdbecause certain times before I blocked the ball,
and it kind of feels like, you know, things are in some
emotion, so that one just lookedit just looked like it was right in

(38:14):
front of me, like it wastoo easy. And then once I blocked
it. I'm not sure if y'allbe hearing it, but sometimes I so
usually say the same thing all thetime when I blocked a Sean and I
always say get that out of here, you know, because I'm so into
it. And then it's almost likeI was watching myself in third person.
And then I was like, Yo, this is a crazy block, Like

(38:35):
that was crazy, and then Isaid, uh, what the and the
rest he thought I was saying itto the player, but no, I
was actually like I was reacting likeeverybody else understands, like, yo,
that blocked was crazy, And thenhe teed us up. Yeah, so
you didn't know your own strength. You surprised yourself. Yeah, so just
like y'all watching, who'd be surprisedat some of the stuff I do with

(38:55):
some of them. I'm out therelike, wow, I can't believe I
just did that. So it wasit was a dumbfounded moment that drew an
exclamation that probably next time you'll tryto hold back. Yeah, for the
most definitely, most definitely. Youknow, I did get one little block
on my buddy Nate this morning inour game with my left hand inside my

(39:15):
head. I said, get thatout of here, but I didn't say
it out loud. And the scienceof blocking shots, it's clear that you're
getting a better feel for it.Yes, although, man, if that
was a slow motion, why don'tyou just grab the ball and save the
possession? Come on, now, that was crazy. That's It's funny because
when I was on the line, when I was watching for the free you
know, I low key could havegrabbed the ball in there. So one

(39:39):
of these days you white seen medo that. Yeah, do you have
a different feel calibration now for forwhat you can get to in that part
of your game? Like before youtry to block it, but you weren't
sure you get there. Do youhave a better feel for what's blockable what's
not. Yeah, it's still it'sstill It's still a part of my game

(39:59):
that still trying to get better at. But a lot of the times,
if I feel like I can getit and I don't get it, I
know that I made the shot harderfor the defender, So now he has
to change his shot, and moreof the time, if he has to
change his shot, he's probably gonnamiss. So and then I'm ready to
go rebound or I got trust formy guys who are going to be back

(40:20):
and next out and get that rebound. If I don't, you know,
get it because I'm trying to attemptto block the shot. So yeah,
and you're a little greedy when itcomes to rebounds, man, I've noticed
that the last couple of games thereare a couple of rebounds that your teammate
probably was a little closer to andyou kind of maybe told him to get
out of your way too. Amseeing things there is that actually happened?
No, No, that's actually happened. I'm really trying to get every every

(40:40):
rebound. Every I'm trying to getevery rebound, every rebound, every shot
that goes up, I'm trying tomake sure that the other team doesn't get
it, and sometimes my awareness isnot great, so a lot of the
times sometime you'll see me say somethingto a teammate who got the rebound or
maybe I got it in i'might getout of here, But I'm not actually
knowing that I was my guy,it's one of my teammates. So I'm
just making sure I don't get ifI can find a or aker someone who's

(41:04):
running. So, yeah, wellthat's that fits. That's what we've been
seeing. Here's a question that camein on Twitter from Christy, one of
our favorite Timeout club star warts. What oh Christy, And she's listening right
now, so I'm glad you saidhi, and she wants to know.
I don't know if this might bea tough one for you. Had answer
man. She says, what isEnoch's favorite part of his games his game?

(41:29):
Blocks, rebounds or dunks. Ohthat's a hard one, right,
that's a hard one, Christy.Everyone else says hello. By the way
here at cron I'm gonna have tosay I want to have to say the
dunks. Yeah, the dunks forsure. Sometimes I'm surprised by how far

(41:53):
out I can be from around thebasket and just two steps I can just
get there. I'm like, dang, I know I'm making it hard on
the other team right now. Well, it's a telltale sign that that's the
case. When you take off fromoutside the paint, you hold the ball
up around the top of the backboardand the guy's trying to block your shot
and he can only reach to yourelbows. That's kind of a telltale sign

(42:15):
that that's what's going on. AndI think it's it's refreshing for people to
hear you talk about it the wayyou are, that you're surprising yourself.
Sometimes there's going to come a timewhere you don't surprise yourself anymore. And
I think we're getting closer to that, right, I mean, like before
early in the year, sometimes youcatch it on offense and it looked like

(42:36):
you were thinking, Yeah, youknow, where do I go? Am
I supposed to pass? Do Igo up? Can I make it from
here? Can I get to therim? It seems like now you know
a whole lot more. Yeah abouthow hard you are to stop? Yeah,
I feel my instinct has gone better, and just knowing where I'm knowing
where I am around the basket hasgone. It's gone a lot better.

(42:58):
It's almost like I got eyes behindthe back of the head, like I
just I just know where it is, you know. So my field has
gotten better tremendously. See, CoachWebb wouldn't be able to hide those eyes
in the back of his head likeyou can with all that hair. That's
that's the way that's working. Yeah, we're talking to Enoch Bowachi Bulldog big
Man who's coming off back to backdouble doubles. Christy Good. Question,
dunks was the answer. And letme ask you what I asked Coach Webb.

(43:21):
You know, I asked him whichone of year ten plus dunks the
last couple of games did he likethe most? How about you? Do
you have a favorite? Yes?Which wanted me? It was against air
Force. I'm thinking I think youknow, I think you know exactly which
one I'm talking about. And theball after I dunked it. After I
dunked the ball, the ball actuallybalanced on top of my head. I

(43:44):
was outside of the lane and actuallybefore the play, uh, I actually
had a lob opportunity that I couldhave got I was pointing in the air.
It was either poulp or Ze whocouldn't have got it? And then
actually I think it was who couldhave threw the lob. Day didn't throw
it. You know, it waslooking I'm a little bit. And then
Pope cut through the zone and heflashed, so that brought up the top

(44:06):
guy and then he's seeming to shorea dunker and I was outside of the
paint two steps and just both ofthem just mmm. I was like,
I was shock. That's what itlooked like. Hold the ball as high
as you can because nobody can getit up there, and eventually it's coming
down through the rim. Yeah, and then it landed on top of you.
I did. The other one inthat game that scared me a little

(44:27):
bit was the alley U you caughtthe lob like I forget if you caught
it at your chest. I rememberthat one too. You had to pull
it back up, yes, dunkit in and then I thought you were
going to hit your grill on therim. Have you ever done that,
you like, smacked your nose oryour teeth up there? No, No,
I don't think I've gotten that high. I don't think I've I feel

(44:47):
I get, I get. I'mpretty sure I get that high, but
I don't think I've gotten to thepoint where I hit my mouth or something.
Well, let's keep it that way. Got to keep that million dollars.
I know. We had another realgood question coming in for Enoch bow
watching. Let me see if Ican find it right here. This one
was from Caleb, who does theBeware of Bulldogs podcast. So they had

(45:09):
you on that podcast yet, No, I don't think all they need to
get you out there for sure. They're basketball guys too. He has two
questions. Actually, this first oneI think I know the answer to.
But we'll see. What are theodds we see Enoch take a three pointer
when they leave them open? MI don't know. I don't know.

(45:35):
I feel I'm definitely capable, butI feel like I got guys on the
team who are have a higher percentersthan I do, so I would definitely
find them open. I'll get themopen because I believe I said really great
screens. So you know your screensare hard to get around. Yeah,
but speaking of your shooting, wecan tell you've been putting some work in
on free throws. How much moreconfident. Do you feel at the line

(45:58):
now than say, first couple weeksof the year. I feel like if
I go into the line, I'mgonna make two for two. That's the
mindset. That's the mindset. Yeah, and here's the second part of Caleb's
question, I don't you might well, maybe you could do this yourself,
or maybe the you know, mediarelations department wants to help out with this.
But he says, when will wesee your signed posters of you posterizing

(46:21):
those poor souls? I don't know, I don't know. I mean,
if it's a poster, dunket.I ought to actually be on a poster
or be on a poster maybe whenthey all can come out, you know,
print out a poster, and I'mmore more than happy to sign it.
So yeah, just don't want itup in a ball and dunk it.
Yeah, that wouldn be good. No, it's time for a break.

(46:44):
When we come back, we're gonnalearn a little more about Enoch Bowatsie,
where he comes from, what he'sall about. Your chance to see
him throw down a few dunks, block a few shots, and grab every
rebound in the building is coming up. Saturday night, seven o'clock against Colorado

was the word dominate? Dominate, dominate, That's what coach Webb tells him
before every game. That's what he'sbeen doing the last couple But let's learn
a little more about the biggest Bulldogon the roster this year. On the
roster it says you're from Brampton,Ontario, Canada. What can you tell

(51:30):
us about growing up north of theborder? Nice? This is different,
is different compared to you know,America. And one thing that I'm in
mind right now because they get cold, they get us a little bit.
Yeah, I guess it gets coldup there. Basketball has definitely grown in

(51:52):
Canada a lot. I'm happy about. You know. Usually is you know,
looked as hockey and stuff like that, but you know, the the
grow through the fan base of theretard rafters and stuff like that. Basketball
has definitely grown a lot. Andas you can see in the NBA right
now, we got you got yougot some you know, guys representing us.
So but yeah, Brampton and Brampton'samazing and you got some some real

(52:13):
hoopers come that came out of there. So yeah, and you said representing
us. It reminded me this offseasonyou got to play for a little bit
for Team Canada. What was thatexperience? Like, Oh my gosh,
I love going back home and playingfor Canada. Like it's just it's like
a so real experience and it's suchan honor. Like a lot of people.

(52:36):
The way I see it is alot of people don't get the opportunity
to represent their country. And usuallyif they do have to represent their country.
From from what I've learned, andit's going to war, and what
are the chances that, you know, you go to war and you're making
back home. So for me togo play, you know, a kid's
sport, to represent my country, you know, it's just it's just a
blessing and I have to worry aboutthings like that, tragedies like that.

(52:58):
So I'm so blessed. So andI got to meet a lot of people,
so and they all got to meetyou, which Bulldog fans have enjoyed
doing this year. By the way, the Dogs have the same colors as
Team Canada, so that that helpsas well. And you mentioned that so
many young people play hockey up there. Did they ever try to make you
a hockey player? Uh? No, no, I just I guess I

(53:22):
wasn't surrounded by by that, youknow, type of environment a lot.
So it was more so basketball, and I'm grateful for it. I think
some people did definitely other than ahockey and some people definitely try to get
me to play football, but yeah, that's not my my comfort team.
How can my block a few fieldgoals beats off in the red zone.
Have you ever ice skated before?Though? I think one time, But

(53:43):
I struggled a lot. It wasit was hard. It was Yeah,
no it's not, it's not forme. But speaking of skating, I
did. I was able to rollthe blade a little bit in Canada,
and I thought that was a loteasier. Uh So, if if that's
anything compared to ice skating, thenyeah, I guess, I guess I
can, I can I skipe?Yeah? And you know, there's so

(54:05):
many stereotypes that we Americans have aboutCanadians. My brother lives in Quebec,
by the way, and a lotof Canadian friends here, so you know,
they always want to throw out thea yeah and tomorrow do you say
tomorrow or tomorrow? Tomorrow? Okay, it's very American of you. Yeah,
I did. I've been here fora while. Yeah, yeah,
about a boot a boot? Aboutabout about all right? Yeah, about

(54:30):
my accent and kicking in probably ifI got another phone from my friends,
I'm back home maybe right now.I don't think y'all get to get much
of that. Is it hard beingso far away from your family? At
first, our first one when Ileft home, but not that I've been
away for a while. I'm usedto it now. But when I when

(54:51):
I did leave home when I wasyoung. I was all probably like thirteen,
thirteen, fourteen, So that's whyI you know, i'd give him
homesick and stuff like that. ButI, like, you know, I've
gotten older now I'm not as homesick, but I definitely do this family back
home. So when you were onlythirteen and only about like six six yeah,
six six six five, Yeah,I was a big I was a

(55:12):
big kid. So tell us aboutyour family. What's uh when we're talking
about you on the Mountain West Networkand Coach Q's you know, reacting to
you swatting the ball into Selma fromthe Save Mart Center. Who's cheering for
you back home? My mom,my mom, my mom, and my
brother and my dad. My momshe's a chef, so she works at

(55:32):
a nursing home cats for a lotof a lot of the elderly. And
then my dad, who was aretired truck driver, you know, he
do the long haul drafts California, that Chicago, New York, stuff like
that. And then my brother wasa former basketball player in Canada. I
played collegiate ball in Canada. Sothey're the ones at home who are cheering
for me and and for me,So how tall. Is your brother my

(55:57):
brother? He didn't the lottie likeI did. Like he's six three,
but I still that's still tall.Well he ought to be able to help
you with your handles then, right, Yeah, no, most definitely,
most definitely. And is it truethat you're taking after your mom a little
bit in the kitchen, those littlechef skills. And yeah, yeah,
I found I definitely found a newhobby and cooking. So yeah, over

(56:21):
there, chefing down a lot ofa lot of pasta's, different type of
pastas to lasagna, spaghetti, alfraido, you know, whatever, whatever
you name it. I'm in there, you know, trying stuff. So
carbo loading for takeoff on game day, Yes, exactly, exactly. So
we're almost out of time with Enochbow watch you we wish we had more

(56:42):
time, don't wait. Isn't thisfun? It's even more fun watching him
play. And you can do thatSaturday night, seven o'clock at the Save
Mart Center. Tickets at go Bulldogsdot com or two seven eight Dogs.
Oh. Here's a good question fromTim Schiller, listening in the Mohave Desert
right now on his smartphone app.He wants to know if you like poutine.
The famous Canadian delicacy poutine. Yes, yes, I do. I

(57:05):
do tell everybody what that is.So tine is and you correct me if
I'm wrong. But it's fries yeah, with cheese on it. Yeah,
and then you add some gravy andit's like cheese curds, right, yeah,
cheese curds, uh huh and gravyyeah, and gravy and it's like,
uh like a like a staple backin Canada. It's like traditional,
you know, just like just likea syrup is you know, syrup in

(57:30):
Canada. So yeah, poutine islike a stafle back clone. So poutine
I like, I like, hutinis really good. Well, if I
can find an appropriate way to workit into a broadcast sometime on one ear
you done, all will think aboutthat little bit. Maybe poutine will find
this way on good In Coach Whitepresented by Table Mountain Casino Resort, where
every day is lucky and every nightis epic, but late, easy to

(57:52):
drink, easy to enjoy, Pompeyes, the official chicken Sandwich of the Dogs,
