Welcome to the Carolina Podcast Network.I am Trevor Marini. Excited to be
joined again this month by Kent Yelverton, the manager of the North Carolina State
Fair, back again to talk aboutall the new foods at the fair this
year. Kent, thanks so muchfor coming back, Trevor. I told
you I'll come back when we hadnew foods to talk about, So let's
talk about them. This is goingto be the biggest podcast of the year,

I think, because in this envelopeI've been I couldn't open this until
today because today is the day thatthe new food is being released at the
fair. So we're nice open itup. Do you do you know yet?
I've seen a little snake preview,but I might learn something today too.

though, So here we go.We've got This is a list of a
few of the samples. We haveover thirty new foods. But just to
name a few of them on thesavory side of things, ezels or something
good food truck as listened to this, Trevor bacon wrapped candied lapeno pimenta cheese

sandwich. I don't know how youcan go wrong. You have bacon and
how can you go wrong? Candiedhalapeno and pimento cheese all in. You
can't go wrong with that. Youcan't mess that up. That's a good
That's a great one to start with. At the Raging Cajun we have of
Cajun style and do a sausage corndog with Mardi Gras mustard dip can We're

two for two. I gotta tellyou, we're two for two. The
Cheese curd Shack Deal Pickle flavored deepfried cheese curds. You had me at
cheese and everything's deal pickle these days, right it is. Yes, last
year we got a debut the dealPickle Pizza. That will be back this
year as well. Lawrence and PerryBarbecue is bringing the slop Bucket. Elaborate

on what is the slop Bucket.It sounds it sounds delicious. Actually,
it's a little bit of everything Ithink see it. It's a long description,
but it sounds delicious. And youcan see the full list. By

day at the fair and then there'ssweets too. I know we don't we

don't have to cover the whole list, but what are waffle chicks? Oreo
Brownie blast brownie baked inside a Belgianwaffle and then treated to a white chocolate
syrup and topped with Oreo crumbles.I'm supposed to be on a diet,
but we have talked about all winnersso far. I don't know how you
follow that. I think you followit by going to the fair and trying
all these new foods. And ifyou want to go to the fair,

what do you need to do?Buy your tickets now, that's right,
and where can they do that?You can still get great savings on advanced
tickets NC State Fair dot org.You can buy ride online. You'll get
your tickets, you can get yourrides everything right there. We've got great
packages. Say you've even more moneyand come in. When you get there,

you've got your tickets. You don'thave to in line to buy tickets.
You get in that much faster andstart enjoying your day. And this
list is so big, you saidthirty it was thirty two new foods.
Yes, thirty two new foods thisyear. And the fair is from the
twelfth to the twenty seconds. Sothat's ten days. I can't do math,
but you need I think you needto. You need to go there

a bunch of times. I thinkto try all the new food. I
don't think it's possible to do everypiece of new food. What one thing
that we like to do on staffis buy the new things and share them.
That way you can try more.Do that with the folks that come
with you to the fair, Sobring your whole group of friends and then
you can try a little bit ofeverything exactly great. So there's I'm looking

at the pages of all the greatthings about the fair and there's just so
much. I know. Last timeyou were here we talked about all the
new entertainment, all the competitions.What else is happening that you're excited about
this year? So we have aa lot of special days. We talked
about some of those last time.UH do not forget Hungry Relief Day sponsored

free with six cans of food,but also a great day for savings.
One thing to to think about whenyou're coming is where are you gonna park?
Everybody wants to know where to park, go online. We've got that
information. There plenty of plenty ofparking. All parking operated by the North

Carolina State Fair is free. We'vegot lots that are right off of Wade
Avenue, lots that are right offof NC fifty four. Easy in on.
Our remote lots will shuttle you rightto a gate and you'll come in
and start enjoying the fair. Andwhat's can you share? What prime time
with the pack is? So ithappens that the fair opens right when the

pack is starting their their practice forthe season. So for the last couple
of years we've been able to workwith them. They have a special event
over at PNC Arena for their fans, but then those fans come right on
over and enjoy the day at thefair. So we enjoy doing that joint

promotion with our friends over at NCState And they can take advantage of the
eight dollars admission when they present theirschool i D students with student I D
s at it. Yep, Ican't I know that you are a busy
guy, especially this time of yearwith the fair opening in about a week
and a half. So anything elsethat you want to share before you go.
I do need to get back andget a few things done, but
we do look forward to seeing everyoneat the fair. This year, we

did fail to mention Senior Citizens Day. Senior Citizens Day is Tuesday, October's
seventeenth. That is a day thatall of our visitors over sixty five can
get in free and also that morningwe'll have a special event for them on
the north side of Dorton Arena witha free biscuit and and beverage as well

as some entertainment UH for for oursenior citizens. So look forward to that
day. Just look forward to UHto having everyone out. We know the
weather's going to be perfect and UHlooking forward to it well. Super exciting.
