Speaker 1 (00:00):
Glad to have you with us. For the third and
final hour of this program. Craig Way, alongside the producer
Cameron Parker, will with you up until five o'clock and
a couple of programming reminders for you, one of those
being that we bring you Longhorn Weekly with Coach Sark
coming up tomorrow, and actually we record the program tomorrow.
(00:24):
The program itself will air on Thursday, but we will
bring you the program there tomorrow if you want to
be there in person for the show taping, it is
tomorrow from six to seven and that'll be at Pluckers
the West Campus location. That's a twenty two to twenty
(00:45):
two Rio grant. Our special guest this week none other
than lifetime Longhorn our sideline reporter Will Matthews. Nice well
Will played. There's some design in all of this. This
is the first meeting between Texas and Michigan since the
Rose Bowls we know, January first, two thousand and five,
following that four season, and it'll be the first time
(01:09):
they've ever played it on either campus. They've only had
the one meeting that was in that Rose Bowl that
also was Will Matthews's final game as a Texas long Point.
He was a senior in that four season and did
some blocking there for Vince Young and also obviously for
Cedric Benson and played in that game. So we'll get
(01:30):
his thoughts on that. Then obviously the thoughts from Sarak
on the matchup with the Michigan Wolverines and all that.
So that's that's tomorrow, so we'll look forward to that,
and I hope you can join us out there if
you want to. The show airs on Thursdays, and once
again it will air on I believe it's airing again
(01:51):
at five o'clock tomorrow, Is it not?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Cam?
Speaker 1 (01:53):
And there another seven o'clock Express game. Pretty sure that's
the case, all right, So I think it'll be at
five o'clock tomorrow afternoon. It'll follow the program here tomorrow
afternoon where where Andrew Zimma will come in as Cam
heads over for the setup to get ready for the
(02:16):
setup for the show since he engineers Long Worn weekly,
and so Zima will be in here with me tomorrow
afternoon and he'll carry you through the four to five o'clock.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
I'll be there for the first couple of hours.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Then on Thursday we have regular show programming on Thursday
and then Friday is when I head up to Michigan
to me, Soy'll.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Be up there that Friday.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
And then of course our coverage on Saturday morning begins
truly Saturday morning, like Saturday Morning cartoons, you know, with
your bowl of cereal. You know, I know some people
like to say kegs and eggs eight o'clock in the morning.
Really the keg part, the eggs I get. We'll be up, Henry,
(03:05):
we'll be up and Adam.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, you guys will be on it eight am. Longhorne's
Game Day tune in, folks.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
And we'll and Roger Wallas and I'll check him from
the Big House there in ann Arbor because we'll be
there pretty early as well, So we will we'll do
that there. We'll look forward to that. So anyway, that's
all coming up for the rest of this week. The
other thing that's coming up this week is the National
Football League. So it does start this week, and it
(03:33):
starts on Thursday night and the uh it'll be the
two time, two time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City
Chiefs who will be taking on at home the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
That's Thursday night.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Friday night, it's Cameron pointed out, it's on Peacock is
Green Bay at Philadelphia, all right, except it's not Philadelphia.
Philadelphia is the designated home team. It's being played in
South Paula of Brazil Corinthians Arena on that one. So
you need Peacock to be able to watch that on
Friday and then Sunday, Cam, I'm gonna cass out these
(04:17):
matchups to you. Didn't tell me if they have any interested.
First of all, Baltimore Kansas City first game.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
I know you're you're up for that.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Oh yeah, rematch of last year's AFC title game. A
Chiefs team that I think only got better. They added
Marquise Brown who probably won't play Week one, Rashi Rice
who guessing won't play Week one. Savior Worthy will be
out there defensively. Another year of experience for those young
(04:44):
dbs and linebackerssive linemen that played so in the Super Bowl,
so high in the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Now, we'll see what the offense week one.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
But then the Ravens, right, you lose McDonald their DC
to Seattle as a new head coach, and he brought
a lot of his eventsive staff with him. They lost
like ten the fifteen players in free agency, so it's
a it's a new look Ravens team almost on defense,
lost a lot of guys. I know they return Lamar Jackson,
(05:10):
they added Derrick Henry, but it's a Ravens team that
I'm not sure Craig is gonna be as good as
they were last year.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Now.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
I know they still Lamar Jackson, they still have Mark Andrews.
Henry should be good if he stays healthy. But the
old lines, all right, I'm not too bullish on this
Ravens team as a lot of people just kind of
assume like, yeah, they're gonna you know, end up, you know,
being there again in January.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Okay, Uh, you'll be working on Friday night, so you
won't get a chance to watch Packers and pulled up.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Okay, I was watching Oklahoma Temple and that was a
pretty brutal Friday Friday.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
Again on Friday night, Okloba Temple. Okay uh. And then
you get the Sunday Okay, I'm gonna pull the Cowboys
Browns getting out of this because you vowed not to
watch it, even though it be no chance, absolutely a
chance of watching that game Sunday.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
It's hard for you to say, I don't even know
what time it's that, which is the best part.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
It's the three twenty five, So you're not going to
have a window to watch anything else pro golf. That
as far as what we care about is done for
the year. You know, the President's Cup wanting to be
until the end of this month, so you got really
no pro golf you need to be watching. I don't
(06:26):
know if anything else that you could be watching other
than the NFL.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
And I'll be watching the NFL, but we'll not be
watching Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Well, I don't know if you're going to get a
game outther than the Cowboys. I'm looking here. I'd have
to find out. You know which games are going to
be on locally, but we know the Cowboys game would
be on. Let's see when when do the Texans play.
They're in the early window. They play a noon game
at Indianapolis, so you know that one can be on.
(06:56):
You know that's going to be on KI and then
the early game.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Let's see if we're.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Guessing, uh for Fox, would it be Steelers, Falcons? Don't
think it'd be Titans, Bears. Let me pull up the
could be Panthers, Saints, it could be they show the
Saints a lot. I'll pull up right now, what what
schedule we're getting for NFL for for our local areas?
Speaker 2 (07:21):
So oh, I better know what we're getting. Go ahead
week one, let's see here, I'll pull up, uh, pull
up the map. Yeah, I'll bet I know what. I
bet I know what's coming on. Well, hold on, I'm
gonna guess.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Uh, Ki of course is going to have the Texans
game at Indianapolis. That'll be the early CBS window contest. Here,
I'm trying to find out the TV map. I see
the announcers.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Schedule for it, but I kind of locate to the
schedule and the maps and give me, give me a
second here, Craig, Okay, all right, uh uh?
Speaker 2 (08:01):
That the.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
I'm trying to see which which network has the doubleheader week.
I think Fox has the doubleheader week, so that would
be in fact, I'm pretty sure on that, so that
that would mean your only option for a late afternoon
window it would be the Cowboys game on that.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I'm guessing it's not been posted yet because I don't
see anything very very surprising. If you want to know
the announcers cruise, I can yeah and tell you, yeah,
tell me that. So let's say, and Charles Davis of course,
Iron Eagle, Kevin Harland, Trent Green.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Wait Iron Iron and Charles Davis have which.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Game New England Cincinnati? Okay? Yeah, makes sense that this
is all the early window.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Okay, Jack's still at Miami, Kevin Harland and Trent Green, Okay,
Houston and Indianapolis. The Three Men broadcast booth from CBS
Andrew Kettalon, Tiki Barber, and Jason mccordy, formerly on Good
Morning Football, who now is kind of working for both
the CBS and ESPN.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
I Okay, you're gonna get that game is the early game?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Okay, Hey, you know, maybe we'll see a little Adie
Mitchell from Anthony richardson Arizona Buffalo, Tom McCarthy, Ross Tucker,
and then Jay Feely.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
All right, you won't get that one in this morning.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
The Lake games, uh, Las Vegas and the Chargers, Jim Nansen,
Tony Romo, Uh okay, all right, and then Den Brant Seattle,
Sparrow Didius and Adam archill Letta.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
All right, who's doing the uh who's doing the Carolina
New Orleans game for Fox?
Speaker 3 (09:40):
That'll be Chris Myers of course, and Mark uh Sheriloff Shriliff.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Sriliff, is that Mark Sla Mark Slareff? You sure? Okay? Yeah,
all right?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
And the game that I was gonna guess for the
early Fox window Vikings Giants.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Who's on that call? Kenny Albert and Jonathan Fillmo Albert Okay.
There are Fox's number two broadcast crew, which remember different
this year because of Tom Brady come into the mix
or Joe Davis and Greg Olsen. They're doing Pittsburgh at Atlanta,
and then Adam Adman and Mark Sanchez the Sanchiz Tennessee
at Chicago. Fox Late that new broadcast team of Kevin
(10:18):
Burkhart and Tom Brady doing Cowboys Brown Cowboys Browns and
then Kevin Coogler and Daryl Johnston former Cowboy Washington at
Tampa Bay. Now for the other broadcast Friday Night in
San a Polo Peacock, Noah Eagle and Todd Blacklitch.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Of course that'll be on Peacock.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
You think maybe they would want to do that one
remotely considering all the crap going on in Brazil. A. J.
Brown says, I can leave his hotel room the entire
time he's.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
There, he's gonna go to the stadium.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Besides going to the stadium, so he's gonna say, sticking
his room the entire time.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
He's worried about safety. Yeah I would too. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
And who's doing the Sunday night. I guess it's Trico
and Chris Collins. Oh my Derek coffee. He's just been
talked to him and pretty gay. He just he just
loves He has no hard feelings about.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
This is great. We're just so back. Fuck ball is back.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Bike to think that I'm that close to seeing my
team play, but I can't stay over an extra day.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Yes, that's right, you're so close that I have you
thought about it?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I thought about it a lot, But I can't do
anything about it.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
I can't get back in time for the Monday press
conference or long warm Monday stuff there.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Yeah, there are duties to perform, you know, so do that.
But maybe I'll get to see him later in New Year.
We'll see.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
All Right, we're gonna hear some more long Worm TWN
