Texas defeats defending National Champs Michigan with blowout win

The final hour of the program begins with a look back at the Longhorns' 31-12 win over Michigan at the Big House.

Texas had very much its way, you know, the vast
majority of that football game, holding Michigan eighty eight yards
of total offense. It was a fun trip. It was
a trip without a great deal of rest. We had,

I think our flight out Friday morning was six thirty
in the mornings, that meant getting up around four am
and then getting off to the airport, and then the
flight home yesterday was six forty three am, which meant
getting up at four am getting the airport. But that's
how it works sometimes would travel you have those quick
early turnarounds. On that. It was a great scene. I

don't think that it as a college football stadium is overrated.
I do not. I think it's a great scene and
fabulous environment. I really do think it's all of that,
and for the log Warns to play as well as
they did in that environment. You can say whatever you
want about Michigan. They're not the team they were last year. Well,

of course they're not. None of the teams that were
in the college football playoffs are as they were a
year ago. Washington is in Alabama, is in Texas isn't.
But Texas may be driving toward being better. Just hard
to tell early because it's such a small sample size.
But you like the sample of what you have seen

so far, no doubt with the way they've gone. So,
I mean that's the part that's impressive is to see
what the long Worns have done about going about their business.
You know, they led twenty four to three at the
half pretty much dominated. They allowed just the one touchdown

So yeah, it was. It was the way that you
hope to be able to play in an environment in
a game like that. It was. It was impressive to
see that workout. So now they get ready for the
UTSA Roadrunners, which it shocked me that they lost in

the manner that they did to Texas State. Texas State,
it's a good football team and GJ. Kenney is doing
an amazing job there. I would have to say they're
the favorites in the Sun Belt Conference. Who knows, you know,
if some of these other G five teams take losses,

even if they win their conference titles, and Texas State
continues to play well and they win, you know, who
knows them? Maybe they might have a chance to be
the highest ranking member of a conference champion and getting
that large bid to the playoff wind up in that

number twelve slot, perhaps because remember how that playoff works,
it's the five highest ranked conference champions out of that
which means one G five is going to be one
of the ones that gets in there because you've got
the Power four with you know the way it sets

up right now, the SEC, the Big Ten, the ACC,
and the Big twelve and then the fifth highest ranking
conference champion. So that means it's going to be a
G five school. Whether it comes from the American or
Conference USA, or the Mountain West or the Sun Belt

or the Mid American Conference, wherever it comes from, it's
going to be a G five league. I'll tell you
what could really help the Bobcats, cause I don't know
if you've looked at the schedule, you know who they
play this week, Arizona State, and they play them in
San Marcos on Thursday night. That's a showcase moment for GJ.

Kenny's team. Arizona State, by the way, is two to zero,
including beating Mississippi State at home last Saturday night. If
Texas State were to find a way to win that game,
then they're really on the radar as they move into
Sun Belt Conference play. So we'll see how that goes.
Texas will play UTSA, whom Texas State defeated forty nine

to ten. It's a better UTSA team than showed for sure,
but they've got some work they're gonna clean up. We're
