stuck around given the team an ovation. Texas is two
and oh. They're one and oh in the Big House.
Final score this afternoon for Dan Arbor, Well Texas, Long
Orange thirty one, the Michigan Wolverines twelve. Commanding, impressive, all
(04:46):
of those kinds of things. And now it's a matter
of dealing with the success and tomorrow. Marcus Framan, the
head coach of Notre Dame, words not to believe the hype.
So it's on to game number three, coming off a
(05:08):
most impressive performance in game number two of this twenty
twenty four season. Good afternoon, everybody, Welcome to the program
on Sports Radio AM thirteen under the Zone. My name
is Craig Way. Glad to have you with us. Thank
you so much for making us part of your monday.
Good to have you with us. Always a pleasure to
be joined by the producer of the program. We put
together that fine montage, and he is Cameron D. Parker.
(05:32):
The d on the Birth certificates tans for the team
that went into Cleveland and kicked the Browns all over
the place Dallas. And even though Cam had said he
wasn't gonna watch it, maybe I don't want to rethink
it a little bit. I don't know, know, you're still
shaking your head. It's September, Okay, it's September. I'm not
(05:54):
saying this is the year of the Coup. I'm just
saying they were pretty impressive yesterday.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
They were, and they were impressive in September of two
thousand and twenty three, and twenty two and twenty one
and about twenty But uh huh, right on part Well,
I'll tell you what else, Timber Dallas Cowboy football.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Tell you what else is impressive. What we found out
yesterday about Dak Prescott's contract, It is done highest paid
player in National Football League history, at least in terms
of average salary per season, four years, two hundred and
(06:33):
forty million dollars, two hundred and thirty one million of
it guaranteed an averaging sixty million a year. It's the
largest per year average contract in NFL history.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
What do you make of that two hundred and thirty
one million dollars guaranteed a million more than what Deshaun
Watson got and if you watched that game yesterday and
you're like, wait, this quarterback makes one million dollars less
guaranteed and the other one Yeah, that's the Cleveland Browns
for you. A great uh great team other than that,
besides the Shaun Watson. So congrats to Dak Prescot. A
(07:08):
lot of people freaking out about the the sum of
the contract. Guys, it's twenty two percent of the cap,
and the CAP's going up every single year. And for
those Dak stings senn't get down the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
I hear that.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
But then who's going to be your quarterback next year?
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (07:23):
You're gonna what sign Drew Locke, Mike Lennon, Joe Flacco. No, no,
you need you need to have a capable, above average
quarterback to really contend in this football league and win championships.
And from what I read in the highlights, because I
did not watch the game, line watch it, watch it?
Did you see?
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Were you watching any NFL Red Zone? And I did.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
I watched red Zone all the way up until about
the three thirty games, and then I wasn't able to watch.
I was mostly just on Twitter, following, texting, updates stuff.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
So you didn't see one play of the game live.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I saw passing through a restaurant the Browns last drive
when it was thirty three to ten. Ten.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Yeah yeah, okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
But uh but from what I heard, Dak Prescott, Ceede Lamb,
Micah Parsons, the three best players on the team and
the three most likely highest paid players on the team
next season when Michael gets paid, were played like that.
So if you're a Cowboys fan, you're looking for some hope,
Hey those guys, you know some are like, hey, well
once they get the money, get the paycheck. Now, they
still played great.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
I've never ever had and I heard what you're what
you're saying, and I've seen it on social media. My
brother was one of the people that was he didn't
like the guaranteed money. Like, do you really have a
question about Dak Prescott's effort and attention to detail? If
you do, you need to re examine it because that guy,
(08:50):
it's never been about that. He has never not given
every single bit of his emotional and physical energy and effort.
He's never given that. Now, mistakes sure, problems in postseason games, absolutely,
though not all on him. Injuries Yep, it's happened there
(09:10):
as well. But you could never ever question his effort
for his drive and his enthusiasm and intensity for victory.
And the latest example was him going into training camp
and going through training camp with that contract status completely
up in the air, exactly right, and not worrying about
it and going on. So I don't think you can
(09:31):
ever question any of that if you want to, if
you want to talk about some of the other things,
but he hasn't done enough to prove it that kind
of money. I don't disagree with you, except that this
is the market now. And by the way, a lot
of these people who are complaining are the same people
who complain that Jerry Jones didn't spend enough money on
the team, it doesn't care enough about the team and
(09:52):
says it makes fun of him, saying I'm all in.
I think paying Dak Prescott when he paid him, I
think paying Ceedee Lamb when he paid him. Jerry is
audience in that respect. He is now in terms of
making the right personnel decisions on certain things and money
on the other areas and stuff like that. The argument stands,
I understand that, but not in the case of these
(10:14):
two he took care of the business. Now can he
do it with my caparsits. We'll see about that going forward.
In the meantime, the Cowboys did look in Preston. We'll
take a look around the NFL. But we've got a
lot to get to obviously. In recapping the Texas victory
at Michigan, we brought you Long Worn head coach Steve
Sarkesian's weekly news conference live. This morning's part of our
(10:37):
Long Worn's Monday presentation, and we've got highlights from the
news conference. You'll hear some in each hour of the program,
so we'll do that. You'll hear from sark We do
have inconceivable this hour, as we always do. We have
some baseball notes we'll get to, like I said, a
lot of football to discuss NFL, Cowboys, Texan, the rest
(11:00):
of the NFL. Yes, last night Sunday night game disappointing
though it was for me is a rams highly entertaining game.
It was, and it did kind of help out my
fantasy day. But anyway, hopefully, hopefully your Monday is off
to a good start. We're glad to be with you
and we'll continue right here on Sports Radio AM thirteen
under the zone of the iHeartRadio app,
