Speaker 1 (00:01):
We're back. It's the Craig Way Show with Hall of
Fame broadcaster and voice them that Texas Longhearts Craig.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
How about we give away an opportunity to win something.
You can do that via the iHeartRadio app and the
talkback feature. We're giving away a pair of tickets to
see Jelly Roll on November the nineteenth. That'd be a
week from Tuesday. Yeah, yeah, twelve days from now, obviously,

(00:41):
Jelly Roll at Moody Center on November nineteenth. This is
how it works to have a chance to win. If
you don't already have it iHeartRadio app, download it on
your phone, real easy to do, doesn't cost anything. You
download that, then you search for AM thirteen under the zone.
You'll have two buttons come up. One is a white

(01:02):
one like in the shape of a triangle, and that's
just if you want to listen to the programming. But
the one for the contest is that red button with
a little white microphone on it. Tap that red button
with a white microphone and then you just leave us
some message. It can be up to thirty seconds, and
don't have to be thirty seconds. It'll be five seconds
if you want just don't go over thirty. Would you

(01:22):
leave a message saying, Hey, yeah, I was hearing on
Craigway Show. You guys were giving away tickets Jelly Roll.
The keyword today is roll roll, just like jelly roll roll.
That's the keyword. And you have to say that in
the message and say I was listening to Craigway Show
or had to mention the keyword role. I want to
be in the contest. You're You're inered at that point.

(01:43):
So it's as simple as that. So hopefully you'll take
advantage of the opportunity and maybe be able to win
a pair of tickets to see Jelly Roll on November
the nineteenth at Moody Center. Okay, give us a little
NBA review from last night, Kim, Starting with your team,

(02:05):
the Oklahoma City Thunder who lost for the first time
after starting the season seven to zero.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
But they fell to the Denver Nuggets last night. A
good game, getting out to the very end. Okay, see,
I had a chance to tire or win it. Julian
Straw through with the block on Shay. But yeah, capped
off a tough little road stretch for Oka. See, they
played at Denver last night. They were home for Orlando,
but then they played at LA at Portland. So it's

(02:33):
like four games in a span of I had a
seven eight days and you know, you play in that altitude,
you know, I think there's a little bit of a
tired effect or the second half of that game, Oka
see looked a little bit more lethargic than Denver did.
But Russell Westbrook had a Russell Westbrook prime type game.
Jolkic played well. So if you're going to get you know,

(02:55):
twenty four points out of Westbrook, he's gonna shoot fifty
percent or higher from beyond the three point line, good
chance that team is gonna win. So a tough loss,
but okay, see he gets much needed three days off
before a showdown with Golden State later this week. In
Golden State, speaking of Craig.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, let's let's go to that because two things. First
of all, the fan base thing. You notice the uniforms
the Warriors are wearing these days. Have you seen that?
Is it the old phil Francisco It's really the old
Philadelphia Warriors jersey. It's white with the gold trim and

(03:35):
red trim and Warriors in red block print capital lettering
outlined in blue. Now I think they had them. They
kept on that their first year or two in San
Francisco before they went to just exclusively blue and yellow.
But that's really their Philadelphia Warriors uniforms. They've been wearing
those lately and it's been doing them well. How about
them going into Boston. And we're gonna get into a

(03:56):
couple of things here about teams and players feeling a
little bit of tea. Yeah, so let's first start with
Golden State in Boston. How about the Celtics players wearing
the Team USA. I guess what would you call warm
ups the warm up tops To make a point at
Steve Kerr about hey, hey, you should have played our guy,

(04:20):
Jason Tatum Moore should have played him? Hey, I think
they did okay the way he did it, I think
they did okay. And then, by the way, if the
Celtics and they are still the best team in the league,
I don't deny that for a second. They're still the
team to beat. They are the defending champions. But if
they needed any reminders of why Team USA won, it's

(04:42):
because the guy who helped Team USA win did it
to them last night, Steph Curry.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Great point, Craig's watching the pregame showing ESPN last night,
Richard Jefferson and a few other people who I don't know,
because they changed their lineup every three months. That's ridiculous.
Bring please, bring back Jeff Van Gundane. But they're pushing
this whole Jason Tatum first Steve Kerr thing. And this is,

(05:09):
you know, ESPN's turned into the first take thing where
it's like every segment has to have a scorching hot
take that will get clicks and views on Twitter.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
And it's like they're the one who walks in and
throws the stink bomb in the room and.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Walks exactly exactly. So it's hard to really take these
pregame shows with too much a grain of salt. I
guess it's the correct phrase there. But they're pushing the
Tatum st Steve Kurr thing, and you know, maybe there
actually is some animosities from Jason Tatum, definitely from Jalen Brown.
But to your point, Craig, Way, the Team USA won

(05:42):
the gold medal. They won. They won. So when people
are saying, yeah, Jason Tatum should be upset, Okay, maybe
you should have played better, he did not deserve to
be in the starting lineup or close any of those
games out because he was not one of the five
best players on that team. In the argument for Jalen Brown,

(06:03):
if Jaylen Brown's on the team, do we know they
win gold? We know what happens if he wasn't on
the team, they win gold, because they won the gold medal.
We've seen it, and how many times by the way
we heard this phrase, this team was not constructed.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Jalen Brown was his. It wasn't is not constructed for
the way that team had to play.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
It wasn't. And you know what, Jalen Brown may be
a huge part of Team usay in the future, but
with the amount of ball handlers that were on that
roster last year, he did not make any sense. If
you're a Celtics fan and you're pissed off, sure, okay,
you know whatever, he was files the MVP, Okay, but
then you go the last night's game, Craig and you
mentioned them warm up stuff, and you know, Boston crowd

(06:44):
boo and Steve Kerr and all that. For whatever reason,
I guess it's just Boston. But then Steph Curry comes
out and just absolutely torches the Boston Celtics, you are
one of the best defensive teams in the league. And
it's like, yeah, you know what, Steph Cury, he was
the best player in the Team US. I know Lebron
won the Most Valuable whatever stupid award, but Steph Curry

(07:05):
was the best player for Team USA this past summer.
And when Steph Curry plays like Steph Curry last night,
like he did last night, he is one of the
best players in the league. In Golden State seven to one,
five and zero on the road, and they're doing with
a lot of young guys, some guys that going into
the season he thought, you know, we're ready to write
this team off. Now it's still early. It's we've only

(07:27):
been through two weeks and Golden State can lose five
to the next six and we're talking about, you know,
is the time to blow up the Warriors. But interesting
dynamic the Steve Kerr first, Jason Tatum bit, but Steph
Curry actually was the one that came out and delivered
the knockout.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, four and nine beyond the arc, seven to seven
of the foul liney wild out of twenty seven pints,
and Buddy Healed had a critical three in that game,
he was four for seven beyond the arc. He had
twenty points in the in the game, so Buddy healed
was a factor as well. We've got some other NBA
able to get to because there's more saltiness in other places.
We'll get to that when we continue on sports Radio

(08:04):
AM thirteen under the Zone and the iHeartRadio app.
