Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, how are you. I hope you're doing well. It's
Chris and Laurie and we're here with the crazy again.
If you're unfamiliar. We do the morning show on Shenandoah
Country Q one O two in Winchester, Virginia, and we
come across so much crazy stuff we just like to,
you know, bottle it all up and share it with you.
First one, we're gonna do very first one out of
the bat. I was this was a news item from
(00:21):
this week. For what it's worth, Queen Elizabeth will have
been gone three years now this September, and the royal
family is selling off some of the Queen's stuff. They
decided it was time Lori to let her range Rover
go her famous range Rovers. She was always chauffeur around
of this. So someone bought Queen Elizabeth's range Rover for
(00:44):
two hundred and ten thousand dollars. Range Rovers are expensive,
but not like them. And then I think to myself,
when I see a story like this, when somebody buys
a celebrities car, you know, what are they Why are
they buying it? Is it because they love the car?
It's got to be because of the celebrit somehow right,
you would think, and that's what gives it the value.
But what do you do with it? Like do you
(01:05):
give your friends? I mean, what else can you do?
You give your friends rides around in the so hey,
hop on in this this land rover. It's gonna be
a lot of fun jumping in the Queen's Ranger River
and then what you're driving them around? He's like, Hey,
you know that seat you're sitting in right now? That
old lady with all the hats, she used to fart
in that seat. What do you what? What? What do
(01:26):
you tell them? Gosh, maybe find whate her hairs in it?
Sell it on eBay Cloner. I don't know Cloner all right,
that would just caught my eye. I thought that was
a good one. And here is one that drives me
a little nuts. So I guess the first time I
was aware of it was about twenty years ago. And
(01:47):
I'll get to that in a minute. Let's start this way.
Former Patriots coach Bill Belichick. You know who that is.
He's got a twenty four year old girlfriend and people
have been calling her a gold digger and all the things. Right,
as you can imagine, they decided that they want to
trademark the term gold digger. No, they can't do that,
can they. Well that's what I said at first, but
(02:09):
absolutely they can. Why do rich people want to trademark
phrases that you and I use all the time? Listen.
The first I heard of this was way back with
Paris Hilton. Remember when she had that show on TV.
Oh I Do Simple Yes, This Simple Life. And she
would always say that's hot, that's hot. Oh yeah yeah.
I thought it sounded like she's using all of her
(02:31):
energy just to say that's hot. Well that's her trademark. Now.
She said I want it, and she petitioned for it,
and she got it in court. She got it. Other
phrases in the English language that are trademarked. This might
surprise you. Let's roll also Emrol Legassi his trademark bam
oh okay, that's him. Taylor Swift owns the phrase this
(02:56):
sick beat. You can't use it without paying. Taylor did
not know that, yes, ma'am. And yes, the NFL does
hold the trademark on the Super Bowl. I know that. Yeah, yeah,
for sure. And they've been trying to trademark the Big
Game as well as I understand. Oh wow, h Yeah,
(03:16):
I will never talk about it again exactly. We'll just
we'll give it a stupid name. We'll have to and
everybody will have to know that we mean super Bowl, right,
Stinko Kazoo, Hey, Kazoo, coming over for Stinko Kazoo. One more,
one more crazy uh that we heard this week and
(03:38):
this I loved this one so Down in Lee County, Florida,
in the middle of the night, a guy heard a
noise as he was trying to sleep. He looked out
his window. He spotted some dude going through his neighbor's garage.
And this guy, he didn't think twice. He ran right
out of his house. Remember he just got up from
ben he heard, right over to the garage. He tackled
(03:59):
this guy, jumped into action, I mean, like a superhero,
held this dude down until the cops came. Awesome. The
best part of this story is this, Lorie. The guy
who jumped into action, got out of bed, ran across
the lawn, not not even wearing slippers. He was still
in his bedclothes. Now, let me make an aside. This
(04:20):
guy all his life, as I understand it, had wanted
to be Batman. When he was a kid, he wanted
to be Batman, and then he just loved Batman. And
here he is tackling a guy, a criminal, wearing what
he was wearing to bed a Batman Wonsie. I love it.
(04:45):
