(00:23):
out, so I would get ticketsright away improv dot com. How are
you feeling, man, I'm feelinggood man. I cannot believe the summer
is over. I didn't this startlike eleven minutes ago. It did.
I don't know what happened, butit's it's over and we're here now,
and we got to get ready forthe holidays. I guess right. Yeah,
it's Thanksgiving in four minutes. Getready, Nica. Isn't an hour?
(00:46):
Man, hurry, Yes, I'mgonna get a Kolonica for Hanka La
for Hanka, My guy, JeremyPiven. You know we love you,
man, honestly, man, You'vebeen doing well. You're you're staying healthy.
Aptely man, I'm doing really welland everything is all good, you
know. Uh my people aren't strike. Not white people. I mean actors,
(01:08):
well a lot of them are white. There are white actors there is.
How's how's your mom doing? Man? Thank you brother, She's doing
really well. I'm going to seeher in a little bit and it's thank
you for asking. She's she's amazing, and uh, I'm very lucky to
be you know, one of thefew actors that is performing now. It
(01:30):
gets to like get up on stageand do some stand up comedy. And
so I bring her out and sheshe as you know, she runs lines
with me, doesn't do lines withme? Runs lines. That's right,
that's right, that's right. Takeit easy. Yeah, there's a big
difference, big difference, for sure. Jamie Piven, I want to make
note that you've been performing your entirelife, right, You've been performing your
(01:56):
entire life, and there's really neverbeen a break. There's never been a
off. Well, today is aday off. And I tell you,
you know, with the strike andwith the pandemic, it it gives you
pause and you get to reflect, and you know, people need to just
embrace it. We can't fight itfor the moment for sure. For sure.
(02:20):
Hey, Jeremy, you know whatI've wanted to ask you as well,
coming from theater and doing stand upcomedy, is there is there a
likeness there? Does that feel thesame? You know? It's fascinating.
I feel like when they do anotherdocumentary about stand up, I'd love to
be a part of it because Ican show you a different angle that.
Yeah, I've been on stations Iwas eight years old, and I've been
(02:40):
doing improv, sketch comedy and allthat stuff, and that prepares you to
feel very comfortable and be present andutilize your timing. But there's there's no
substitute for writing. So writing thestand up you know, I've been I've
been touring to twenty seventeen, whichto stand comics makes me an infant,
(03:01):
but to you know, as civilians, you know, six seven years,
that's something. Even though I've beenon stage for forty years, there's no
substitute forget it, for writing, and so it's been an incredible journey.
And when people come out to closeout the summer with me at the Breya
Improv and they look at me andthey go, wait a minute, what
(03:22):
happened to Jeremy Piven? Why ishe performing in them? All? I
will let them know why. That'sa fact. Yeah, you know what
I also learned as well, JeremyPiven had some very big scenes obviously an
Entourage as already gold, and therewas some heavy monologue, a lot of
heavy lifting, right, and youtreated that like theater and it was almost
one take. Yeah, I meanthe theater background really helped me with that.
(03:46):
And the way that Doug Ellen, who you know wrote and created Entourage,
the way he shot it, itwas a little bit of an omage
to Scorsesey. So a lot ofthe shots we didn't we didn't cut the
close ups, we didn't do anyclose up and the shots were all kind
of constructed in in one take andit was an honor. It didn't feel
like theater. That's amazing, man. Jammie Piven bre Improv Labor Day,
(04:09):
Weekend, Improv dot Com. It'sgonna sell out and I'm not supposed to
talk about it. But uh,my new film Sweetwater drops September first on
Hulu. I didn't say that becauseI'm not allowed to promote anything. I'm
saying that. I like that veryclever. Very There's a loophole, brother,
(04:33):
there's there's always atole. Yeah.Well, That's what I was trying
to get you guys to do.But yeah, Sweetwater on Hulu. Yo,
