(00:03):
in to the number one afternoon showin LA from two to seven pm on
Reel ninety two three. We're gonnaaddressing like extreme time to my Kicken.
When you come through away, buddyDip, take away your things and go

(00:29):
out, says, show me youcan come down, Come down The signa
Selina Gomez is on the Cruise ShowReal Night two three. Yeah. Shout
out to DJ Fuse. He putthat inshow together. He always does that
for the artists. But literally thiswas my favorite one because right off the

(00:52):
bat, I just want to tellyou you have always been my it girl.
I grew up watching you. Sofor this moment, full circle moment
for the single single soon is outnow, I did want to ask because,
like in the very beginning of thesong, it's like talking about like,
Okay, should I write a note? Should I leave it in your
jacket? Have you ever broken upwith someone by text? Because I have

(01:14):
I actually never have, no,Okay. I definitely like I try to
do the awkward avoiding kind of thing. Okay, but I'm pretty good at
at sucking it up, I guess. And with single soon. Do you
write those type of songs because youhave a very close relationship with your sister
and I love seeing that on socialmedia. I think everybody does. Do

(01:34):
you write stuff like like single soonwith her and mind to empower her to
like, hey being singles? Okay? I think she's a huge reason that
this album, you know, isactually coming to Fruition because she's I'm just
so proud of who she is.And I wanted to make this this whole
album fun, like I really did, and all of it's just meant to

(01:56):
make you movement, to make youfeel something. It's nothing going to bring
you down. And I just I'mreally excited to see what people think of
the new stuff. Yeah. No, and I'm super excited to the album.
Were you recording any of the songsand pairs, because I know you
did give us a little sneak peekon Instagram. Yeah, I was doing
some some touch ups. Yeah,it was fun. That's awesome. And
like I want to go back tobecause in your documentary, which was amazing,

(02:19):
by the way, in the closingminute you said, I'm at peace,
I'm angry, I'm sad, I'mconfident, I'm full of doubt,
I'm a work in progress. Isthat still true? Of course? I
think I'll always be that. Yeah, And it's just more about having a
relationship within myself and understanding what isgood for me and what's not good for
me. And I think it'll alwaysbe a process growing up and figuring it
all out. But I'm so gratefulthat I walked through some of the hardest

(02:44):
moments in my life and I gotout of it. Is that what's something
that you would say to twenty yearold Selena now that you're you're in your
thirties, that you're like, reallyreally doing this right now? No,
I don't have any regrets. Ithink if anything, I would just probably
remind myself that I don't have totry that hard. That's a good one.

(03:06):
I feel like we're always so hardon ourselves, especially like with social
media and like just with our mentalhealth too. I mean, you're a
huge advocate for mental health. Iknow that everybody like very much knows that,
and it's so awesome to see thatbecause even through Rare Beauty the Rare
Beauty Fund, you know, you'readvocating for mental health and that's so important
to you, and I just loveseeing that thank you so much. Yeah,

(03:28):
and then also too, I sawthat you were with Carol G on
your Instagram. Is there any chancethat we could see a collab come in?
I mean maybe maybe, I meana b iconic because have you guys
ever even talked about that? Yeah? Yeah, for sure. Yeah,
I love her. She just likewe bonded over my birthday and ever since
then, she's just been like thatthat girl, like she's awesome. Honestly,

(03:52):
those birthday pictures, I was like, I opened it and I literally
showed my boyfriend was like, thisis what I want to be, like,
this is what I want to looklike. It was amazing. I
hope the birthday party was great. It was great. And then, like
I said, a rare beauty Honestly, all the products are amazing. What
does it mean for you to be, like, you know, one of
those really like I guess pretty much, very few latinas that make beauty products

(04:16):
for people like us, Yes,I think I Honestly, I'm beyond thrilled
of what we've been able to do. I mean, the moment we started.
We came out with forty eight shades, and that's something that was always
crucial from the beginning. And itdoesn't matter, you know what you if
you like a lot of makeup,a little makeup, whatever it is,
it's I didn't want it to beSelena Gomez. I wanted it to be

(04:38):
rare beauty and the products are reallygood and that's what I stand by.
But at the same time, apercentage of the sales goes to the mental
Health Impact Fund that I've started,So it's just it's been such a gift,
Honestly, I'm so grateful. Yeah, And it's so cool because you
can like do what you love todo. And you said it in your
documentary too, where you want musicto be that gateway of doing what it

(05:01):
is that you're passionate about. Definitely, and that's so amazing. And I'm
going back to the single. Yousaid it was written six years ago.
Do you even remember the writing processfor Yeah, No, I do.
It was really fun. I justremember feeling like one of my girlfriends was
single and I was in a placein my life where, oh, you
know, every girl goes through it'sdevastating being single, but I was going

(05:26):
through a little bit of that andshe was just so happy being single and
I craved that. I really Iunderstand that now. Yeah, it's been
five years since I've been in arelationship, so I'm so used to myself
and getting to know who I amis the most important part. And it's
funny because like I had posted, you know on my Instagram story once you
had dropped the visuals and everything, and my boyfriend text him He's like,

(05:48):
hey, we're good right. Iwas like, yeah, I'm just reposting
Selena. It's fine. It's totallyokay. I don't like iver promised,
it's not. Yeah, No,it's totally okay. But the studio session,
do you like have to have peoplearound you or is it just you
and producing? No? I definitelyprefer working with just my engineer and myself.
Producers do come in every now andthen. Obviously it's their song too,

(06:12):
but I like doing it on me. Well, we're super excited for
what's to come. I'm super excited. I can't tell you how much I
really love you and admire you. It's been a pleasure. Son A go
