Now WRKO presents Boston's only nightly sportsbetting show, The Gambler, with Adam
Kaufman covering spreads, props, parlaysand more. The Gambler starts now Here's
Adam Kaufman. I'm nervous, I'mexcited, I'm antsy, feeling a little

(00:24):
frisky. We are on the eveof the Eastern Conference Finals in the National
Basketball Association. Our beloved Boston Celticswill play host for Game one at the
TD Garden to the Miami Heat.Jimmy Buckets, Jimmy Butler, all the
he is him stuff. We'll findout. We'll find out if he can
carry over what he's done, notonly in previous postseasons, but especially this

(00:46):
year in the previous two rounds.Game one of the East Finals tomorrow,
which means twenty four hours from now, when we are starting up this show,
we will be just past halftime, early third quarter, probably in a
full body sweat. But tonight, tonight we get to just relax, we
get to preview it, We getto give you best bets. Joe Delira
from the Action Network is going tojoin us in about fifteen minutes. Join

(01:10):
us for the better part of thishour review what is happening in the NBA
tonight where I will tell you ifyou're not watching, the Nuggets are absolutely
throttling the LA Lakers, absolutely cruisingin Denver in Game one of that said
NICOLEA. Yokich continues to just beon another damn level. This dude is
gonna have a triple double before theend of three. He has nineteen points,

(01:32):
sixteen rebounds. He had a dozenI believe in the first quarter and
seven assists along with a couple ofblocks already, and he's done that stat
line. He has achieved that intwenty three minutes and oh, by the
way, seven of ten shooting. He is one of the best, if
not the best, player in theworld for a reason. Folks pay attention.
And as somebody just tweeted me,I'm kind of worried about the Nuggets.

(01:53):
Yeah, if you're a Celtics fan, you're worried about the Nuggets.
If you're feeling a little scared, you should. You should. You should
feel a little petrified because whatever youmay think of the Miami Heat and how
destined oddsmakers believe the Celtics are toreach the NBA Finals and once again represent
the Eastern Conference, whether it isLA and Lebron Anthony Davis and that history

(02:15):
of the LA Lakers on the otherside, or as I believe it will
be and have believed it will beand already tweeted earlier tonight, I think
the series is over if the DenverNuggets are on the other side. No,
they do not have that experience.Their guys have not been there before.
But I'll tell you what, thisteam is good. This team is

(02:36):
so good. I got people textingme the Nuggets are a buzz saw.
Who knew Denver even had a team? Is what the casual people are saying.
If you have not been paying attentionto Yokis in recent seasons when he's
been winning multiple MVPs and just feelinglike as long as he had a healthy
corps around him, they had somany injuries in past years, as long
as they had a healthy grouping aroundhim, they were going to be dangerous,

(03:00):
incredibly dangerous. And here we are, so we will continue to live
sweat this one. I love thatthere are mid game prop bets that you
can you know, like, well, yokach have a thirty thirty game.
It is insane what he is doingright now that people obviously have the opportunity
to bet on. But will LAeven make this a game? Will turn
into a blowout right now, it'sa sixteen point game. With about nine

(03:21):
and a half minutes to go inthe third quarter, we will find out.
I am Adam Kaufman. This isthe Gambler with Adam Kaufman. Dan
Watkins is here. EJ Pacheco, our producer. I mentioned Joe Dlea will
join us in a little bit inthe second hour. Jeff Ulrich, We'll
be back. He will only beour second repeat guest. It was Aton
Schander who was the well he killedthe People's part Lay. He didn't do
it alone, but it killed thePeople's part Lay band. We love a

(03:44):
tod Dad, we do. ButI can't. I can't really talk either
because my Chicago Cubs are just gettingsmacked around in Houston tonight. So Dan,
you took him on the plus oneand a half run line? I
did? Yeah, if you wentmoney line, I did. I took
him money line solo, as Iwas hinting that I would. I thought,
you know, with Justin Steele onthe Mountain things we're looking good tonight.
But nope, the Houston Astros area very good team despite what their

(04:05):
record is just twenty two and nineteen, same record as the Red Sox h
one tonight two. By the way, look at look at that, stopping
the bleeding at four games. Butyeah, the Cubs just getting smacked around
in Houston tonight, So not lookinggood all around. And what I got
a peek on your pick two here. What are we at? Two to
one in the bottom of the secondSo trending, okay, maybe a chance

(04:26):
maybe one leg. Yeah, it'dbe nice to get at least the one
leg. And I've been playing allof them separate too, so I would
like to hit you know, asyou should, I mean through two weeks.
You know of the previous two weeks, the brief history of this show
twenty one two and what do wesay, twenty one two and one something
something like that was the straight legsof the part lay. So yeah,
I've been killing it for a coupleof weeks, and we were due for

(04:49):
we were for a miss. Wewere it unfortunately came tonight. So Delia
will help us with the people's partlate tonight. Maybe we can get off
on better footing tomorrow. But asI was saying, all Rich will join
us in the second hour. Hewill offer some NHL thoughts. He's a
big hockey guy. But he willalso most importantly start our two day preview
of the PGA Championship. We willhave him tonight. Jason Sobel from the

(05:12):
Action Network will be back with ustomorrow. He is there at the event,
so that'll be great. Love forwardthat later in the week on Thursday,
Chris Carney from Rainham Park will comeback with us help us preview the
Preakness. So we got a lotof great stuff going on this week.
But you just mentioned it, Dan, the Boston Red Sox. First of
all, uh EJ. Can Iknow you got the Chiching sounder. I

(05:33):
know you have that. We needto also get I don't know, like
the money, money, money, money like we need today? Yeah,
can we do that? Is thatlegal? Can we can? I think
we as as an iHeart station,I think we can pay for that.
We're you know, mostly music. We need that because the Boston Red Sox,
it's laughable. The over is freemoney. You did the math yesterday,

(05:57):
Dan, and with tonight, Ibelieve it is now what twenty eight
thirteen and two Christ Season that theover hits for the Red Sox. Ye
tonight. I did play it.I was I was a little skeptical,
but I did play it. Ofcourse, nine to four. The win.
Unfortunately lost a parlay because I neededDevers to have a hit. Every
other leg hitting there. He wentover four. But he might have been

(06:17):
the only guy that didn't have ahit. Let me. It was him
and Valdez and Valdez he didn't evencount. He just got here. So
I'm not even gonna hold it againsthim. Everybody else as far as I'm
concerned, had to hit. Butfor Dugo, big night for him.
He had a double. He youknow, scored three runs. Masataki Yoshida,
who was up over three hundred withhis batting average now three ribbies,

(06:38):
he doubled. He tripled. Theguy as an animal Turner had a good
night, drove in a couple ofruns. He homered, as did Tristan
Costas up to six. Jaron Duran, who I'm not the biggest fan of.
I'm not, but he's having agreat ear. We're getting to the
point where I just wanted to dhbecause did you did you see the play?
He made it in the center fieldwhere he tried to dive after a
ball and it ended up costing theRed Sox. But that I gave up

(06:59):
a home run the very next batterto the very next batter. Yeah,
I mean it doesn't matter. Obviouslythey won, but yeah, it's the
instincts, the wherewithal in the outfielddoesn't seem to be there for him,
not whatever reason now and Nick Pavetta, he wasn't very good, but whatever
they won. That's that's the keyhere. So nine to four, and
like you said, stopped the bleedinginto the losing streak. They had dropped,

(07:21):
as you said, four in arow. It had been six of
seven since the eight game winning streaks, so you know, trying to get
back on the right footing for them. Hopefully, there's a lot of stuff
that we are going to be sweatingtonight. I don't know what you've still
got out there, but for me, real big on the West Coast baseball
games. So keeping an eye onArizona. Padres are absolutely killing me right

(07:45):
now because they're down five nothing inthe second inning to the Royals, and
I on the Dodgers. That gameis just getting underway. So these are
these are money line bets. Theseare run line bets. There are some
parlays involved. The Padres are reallyticking me off though, because this that
should have been and they could comeback again second hitting, but I mean
that should have been a relatively easyw and I should have been on paper.

(08:07):
I mean, all season that teamshould be much better than they are
twenty and twenty two, eleven andeleven at home, and it's looking like
Royals are the Royals are so bad. I mean them in Oakland, it's
it's going against them. Targeting themis is is a good strategy every every
night except for tonight it looks likeapparently, yeah, we'll see a long

(08:28):
way to go. Yeah we're herefor a couple hours. Lakers still down
by twenty halfway through the third Quarter'sincredible. He would be one of those
guys and I don't know how itwould play out in terms of whether you'd
be a head or behind, probablybehind just lave averages. But he's just
he's the kind of guy that thatmakes you want to bet him to have

(08:48):
a triple double every game just aboutyeah, you just it's it's it's one
of the it's like devas And again, this would have failed to it's like
Devas with the over one and ahalf total bases, or like we say,
and this one does hold true moreoften than not Red Sox with the
over, because it's these are justsome of those bets that you're drawn to.
So we're gonna talk to Delayer ina little bit. He's going to

(09:09):
join us in about five minutes. But I was looking If you've never visited
covers dot com and Dan, I'msure you have. It's a great website
with a whole bunch of great bettingstatistics. I was looking at some trends
between the Celtics and Heat as westart to help people place their bets for
tomorrow. We were talking with AtonChander last night about how with this Seas
game, really he's just not beena whole lot of movement. You know,

(09:33):
the spread is still eight eight anda half points depending on the book
that you're looking at, money lineoverwhelming Favorites and Celtics. I'm seeing them
at minus three seventy right now.The over under has stayed right around ten
to twelve that range. I'm seeingit two ten and a half right now.
But some trends so the under, some of these stats are a little

(09:54):
silly like the you know, howhow do the Red Sox do in the
rain on a Tuesday night after arain delay earlier? You know that kind
of thing. So the under isfour and o in the Celtics last four
Wednesday games. Okay, that's thanks. I was starting with that. But
more notably so the over six andone in the seas last seven games following
a straight up win of double digitssix and one against the spread their last

(10:18):
seven games playing on two days rest. The over is five and one of
the seas last six games following aagainst the spread win. The overs five
and one of the Celt's last sixgames following a straight up win. If
you're more interested, and I couldgive you Miami two, but if you're
more interested in just straight up headto head, the over is eight and
two in the last ten meetings inBoston. Okay, and it is a

(10:39):
low total here that it's I know, Boston's really cracked down defensively and we
should be mindful of that. Buttwo ten and a half it's a low
total. You know, it's comparedto West, where it's like thirteen points
higher. The heat are thirteen andfive against the spread in their last eighteen
meetings in Boston. Just putting itout there, it's putting it out there.
Get point spread right now, doesn'tmean the he'll win, just means

(11:01):
they would cover in the example ofthose stats. So we got a lot
coming up. We got a lotof good stuff. We want you to
be part of it. Six oneseven, two six, six six eight
six eight. That's six one seven, two, six, six six eight
sixty eight. We're gonna take adeeper dive into this series. We will
look at props, best bets fromDelia. He has been covering the NBA

(11:22):
very very closely. If you checkout his his Twitter feed at Joe Dalia.
He's been putting out picks every singleday, his favorite bets of the
day, and they they hit moreoften than not. I've been paying attention
to him, and we will alsosee what's going on with this Nuggets Lakers
first game. If there's anything thatwe should be live betting while we're on
all here together, or on topof that, if you know there's there's

(11:45):
anything with respect to the series goingforward, bets that we should be placing,
so be with us again. Sixone seven two six six six to
eight six eight to be part ofthe show. De Lara on the other
side from Action Network, It's TheGambler with Adam Kaufman. Sick and tired
of bold sports talk and want toget right into the action. The Gambler
with Adam Kaufman. As you covered, call us now with six one seven

(12:07):
two six six six eight six eight. That's six one seven two six six
six eight six eight. The Gamblerwith Adam Kaufman will be right back after
this on WRKO. We are backtalking NBA. That first segment were really
bounced around everywhere as we sort ofgave you the appetizers at the table for

(12:30):
the show. All good stuff. But Joe Delira, NBA writer and video
contributor to Action Network, NBA BEThosts the Catch That podcast. You can
find him on Twitter at Joe Deliajoins us here on The Gambler with Adam
Kaufman. Joe, what's going on? Man, Hey dude, what's going
on? Man? We're watching thiskindam blowout right now in Denver, in
LA right now. So we're areYou're supposed to be an entertaining game.

(12:56):
I mean, it's entertaining if yougot money on Denver. I guess yeah,
if you took the spread, you'refeeling great. Yeah, yeah,
exactly what's going into this series orthis game? I mean, we'll obviously
talk quite a bit about Boston, but since you brought up the game that's
going on right now, and it'sDenver up by twenty at this moment,
just comfortably ahead. Bruce Brown, they're showing him on TV having himself a

(13:18):
great night so far. What wereyou expecting coming into this one, whether
it's Game one or the overall series. I mean, look, I think
Denver. I think Denver is really, really, really good, and I'm
not surprised. I'm a little surprisedby the current number right now that it's
a twenty point lead, but I'mnot really surprised that Denver's winning at home.

(13:41):
They have dominated at home just sofar, and like I think that
they should have what they should be. They're the best team in the West,
so I wouldn't be surprised to seethem in the NBA Finals, especially
after this kind of performance to startthe series. So I can sometimes be
prone to I could be a reactionaryif you will. Joe and I tweeted
out, you may have seen it. I tweeted out early in the first

(14:03):
half, Nuggets are going to theNBA Finals. Like I've seen enough.
I've seen enough. And that's notme not having respect for obviously guys would
championship and Championship round experience in Lebronand Anthony Davis and so many guys around
them. I just think this Nuggetsteam, as you said, best in
the West, and as we talkedabout in the first segment, when they're

(14:24):
healthy, because they really have notbeen with you know, they've they've had
many of their key players out thelast couple of postseason runs when they've come
up short. Yeah, when theyare healthy as they are right now.
This team and we've never seen itat this stage. They've never had the
opportunity, but they are a wagon. Yeah, man, I mean think

(14:45):
about it. The last time wesaw them relatively healthy, it was what
in the NBA bubble and some ofthe guys like MPJ is not the same
player he was then that he isnow, Like he's so much better.
Is at like the height of hispowers? You're seeing Jamal Murray, he's
kind of he's pretty much healthy now. But then this acquisition of Aaron Gordon,
they sold out for him a coupleof years ago when they went and

(15:07):
got Aaron Gordon, like he wasgoing to be their guy, right,
he was replacing Jeremy Grant, andyou were like, all right, Aaron
Gordon, we're gonna spend our money, we're gonna spend our past space on
him. We think he's the piece. And then you had the Jamal Murray
injury. So this is really thefirst time, like you said that,
they've been really really healthy, andthen you've got incredible contributions from KCP has

(15:28):
been incredible. Rookie Christian Brown hasbeen dynamite, and then the other guy,
Bruce Brown, has been also reallyreally good. So it's tough.
You know, if you're getting,if you're a ready a good team,
and then you're getting really good rookiecontributions and then all your role players are
stepping up, that's that's a realtough team to beat going into this game

(15:48):
one, because we were talking aboutit last night, the Nuggets were slight
favorites, you know that. Idon't remember exactly what the line was,
but let's say it was Ballpark minusone forty or something like that. In
the late were plus one, whateverit was. I mean, it was.
It was about as close to aPickham series on you know, from
a betting perspective as it could havebeen. Now, just again liveline,

(16:08):
I'm looking at it and I'm seeingto win the West, the Nuggets at
minus two fifty, the Lakers atplus two thirty. We're already seeing the
separation. We're already hearing from peoplesaying that, you know, based on
what we've seen, this is goingto be a short series. Again,
anything can happen, and injuries andall that stuff. But if tonight is
a reflection of what to expect goingforward, do you think this will be
a short series? Well, Imean, are we really going to expect

(16:33):
Denver to score one hundred and fortysix points for one hundred possessions? I
mean that number is bonkers, right, So, I mean, look,
it's still they're doing that. It'sstill I mean, it's seventeen point game
or so right now. But youhave to expect at least a little bit
of regression, right and Darvin Hammis not unwilling to make adjustments. So
I think that we'll see something Idon't. I don't think this will be

(16:55):
a super quick series. I think, well, I think we should see
the series go six games at least. I think if I were a Lakers
fan, well one, I'd befeeling not great about what's going on.
Although it's still fourteen point, stilla fourteen point game, and we're not
even quite at the fourth quarter. So it's you know, anything could happen,
obviously, But where I was goingwith that was, you know,
at least Anthony Davis has had himselfa great game one, a very efficient

(17:19):
twelve of nineteen so far, he'salmost at thirty points, not rebounding quite
at the level that we would expect, but still time for him to get
his typical ten or so. Youknow, he's blocked a couple of shots.
If there's something that's maybe giving mea little bit of pause, it's
I don't know why Lebron isn't sortof going into takeover mode out of you

(17:41):
know, some level of desperation withwhat's been going on. He's still kind
of facilitating. He's only taken adozen shots and he's hit most of him.
He's just you know, not likethis is the kind of game that
you expect Lebron to say, allright, like what is happening right now?
I need to take twenty to twentyfive shots, and also Dennis Shrewder.
The expectation for me, for sure, and I think for a lot
of people going into this game wasDennis Shrewder as being part of this starting

(18:04):
five. He was going to beimpactful, he was going to be someone
that was going to, you know, get double digit points. And he
still could. But he's you know, he's only taken two shots right now,
including a made three pointer. Hehas been very very quiet in this
game. So I think there aresort of ups and downs in terms of,
you know, the specific personnel forthe Lakers thus far. Yeah,

(18:26):
I think that that's a good pointthat you raised about Lebron, right,
So, I mean, historically Lebronin game one actually has not been great.
His performance in game ones, especiallyas an underdog, not particularly great.
And I think he really takes thesegame ones as an opportunity to like
assess the situation oftentimes, especially asan underdog, and just kind of see

(18:47):
where the series is going. Imean, at the end of the day,
if LA leaves Denver with a split, they won the games in Denver,
right, So, I think rightnow, the fact that this game
is still as close as it is, and it feels like Denver is going
like you know, their offense hasbeen unstoppable, and it's still a relatively

(19:10):
close game. I think the Lakerscan leave this game and say like,
all right, like we feel kindof good about the situation. I think
the point that you're raising about DennisShrewder though, is particularly interesting because I
thought he would get uh, youknow, a little bit more scoring opportunities.
But it does seem like he's playing. He's the minutes are there right,
like you know, we're seeing himnow again to close the third quarter

(19:30):
and probably start the fourth quarter again. But I think he needs to he
needs to shoot, to shoot theball a little bit more to maybe help
spread the floor for this Laker's offense. I think that would probably be a
little bit more impactful, at leastfrom an offensive perspective for him. I
don't know if you were watching asyou're talking to me, and I almost
started I had to show you respectby by not laughing while you were talking,

(19:51):
but I almost started giggling because thethree pointer that Yokis just hit at
the buzzer from right and Anthony Davis'smug and there was nothing Davis could do
but just laugh walking back to thebench. This dude is on another planet.
He is up to thirty one, nineteen and twelve through thirty two minutes
through three quarters. It's still agame. It's a fourteen point game.

(20:15):
Again. This is like, nolead is safe in the NBA. But
what Yokich is doing right now,I this is part of And I'm like,
I'm a Boston fan. I wantthe Celtics to not only go to
the NBA Finals, but win thechampionship. But I love I love Yokich.
He's one of my favorite players inthe league. And I love that
he is now on a He's oftenon a national stage Joe obviously, with
so many nationally televised games, butright now, where like this is it.

(20:38):
This is all people have to watchon this night unless you're watching baseball.
For him to be doing what heis doing and sort of bringing in
more casual eyeballs than he typically would, it's just I mean, this guy
is a unicorn, like he isa true one of one. Yeah,
I mean if you couldn't ready forthis, I think right now he currently

(20:59):
has the third best VPM in aplayoff ever, right, so it's o
nine Lebron ninety one MJ this year, Yogi, and he's barely started the
conference finals. Like, I thinkhe's going to shatter some of these numbers.
I mean, what he's doing rightnow is mind numbing. I mean,
and you're right, unless you haveLeague Pass, it's been tough to

(21:22):
watch Nuggets and I don't even wantto get into the you know, like
some of the TV thing in theblockouts, it's hard to watch him even
if you're a local fan, right, but he's I try whenever I like,
I pay for Lead Pass, Itry to watch as many Nuggets games
as I can because I just lovewatching this guy play basketball. What he's
doing right now is incredible. Imean, he's operating at the height of

(21:45):
his powers. He's doing a littlebit of everything. And I think the
thing is people always knock him forhis defense, and defense isn't really that
bad. He does what he's gotto do defensively. But what he's putting
together from an offensive perspective and theway he can make this offense run,
I've never seen anything like it.It's like you take one thing away,
he does something else, you know, it's like, oh, you don't

(22:07):
want him to drive. Well,I'm just gonna shoot at three and I
can do it relatively efficiently. Soit's really hard to say, like,
I can't see any other scenario whereLebron is not usually the best player on
the court, but in this series, you know, what yoga is doing
is just it's it's mind numbing,it's it's incredible. I've never seen anything

(22:30):
like it. Joe, we needto break, But listen, I'm gonna
give you a homework assignment. Overthe next break or two. We're gonna
have you for the rest of thehour, and the next segment we're going
to talk about what's you know, the Celtics and heat and betting Game one
and everything that people should be thinkingabout. We start to touch on that
a little bit in the first segmentof the show, but you're gonna help
us obviously coming up. But inthe final segment of the hour, we
do something here on the show. It's called the People's parlay where we build

(22:52):
a parlay. I offer a leg. Dan, who you've not heard from
yet, he will offer a leg, and you are to offer a leg,
and the three of us we willbuild a parlay together. We will
play it together. We will sweatit tomorrow, and there I will tell
you also, because it's a commonquestion from our guests, there are no
rules in that. Whichever book youwant to use. However much money you

(23:14):
want to put on the parlay thatis up to you. Could be a
dollar, could be one hundred dollars, and that's your business. But we
are going to play the parlay together. So I want you during your breaks
here to start to put in alittle bit of your research so you can
pick your favorite pick for tomorrow night. All right, sounds good, I'll
be doing it, all right, fantastic. Joe Delaire from the Action Networks
with us. We will be rightback on The Gambler with Adam Kaufman.

(23:34):
Need a Vanda, bad bad bets, you come to the right place,
tell us about it. Call sixone seven two six six six eight six
six one seven two six six sixeight six eight, or if you're listening
on the iHeartRadio app, use thetuckback button. The Gambler with Adam Kaufman

(23:55):
will be right back after this onWRKO. Well don't look now, as
the expression goes, or maybe look, but continue to listen to us.
Put that TV on mute. Ifyou're turning it on. The Nuggets are
only up by eight with ten minutesto go in the fourth quarter, one
o eight to one hundred as I'mlooking at it right now, and Anthony
Davis continues to be a beast.Lebron's starting to get more aggressive, Reeves

(24:17):
Hotchi Mora off the bench having goodgames. Obviously, Joker Murray. It
balanced attack out of Denver, butit's mostly the Yoka show. Dan,
I don't know if you have looked, if you haven't had it open,
don't don't cheat. The over underin this game was what two twenty two
and a half something like that. You want to guess what the live line
is? Two fifty two fifty four. That shattered us? Just incredible,

(24:42):
all right, Joe Dhlaire Action Networkback with us here. We've we've been
so focused on the West that Ifeel like we need to remind ourselves,
never mind the listening audience that theCeltics and Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals
Game one tomorrow way way more important. So Joe sees eight point favorites going
into this one. They are comfortableseries favorites. Never mind on the money

(25:02):
line for this the overunder a muchmore modest, right around two ten to
eleven, depending on where you're looking. What are your impressions of this series
and in particular this first game thatstarts in about twenty two hours in Boston.
I honestly think that Boston is dramaticallyovervalued, even though they're going to
win this series. Right, SoI think that Boston they're the rightful favorites

(25:30):
for the title based on the factthat you know, I think the Western
Conference Finals is a little bit morecontentious, right, they should dominate Miami.
But the thing is with Boston, and like you guys, you guys
would watch you guys watch Boston,I'm sure much more than I than I
do. Right. They always seemto like let teams hang around, and

(25:52):
that gives me a little bit ofconcern. Right, So I think this
number, the number is long forthem, but I do think that they
win the series. Like on paper, they should sweep at worst win in
five games. But can you Mything is with this, I struggle to
see this being less than six games, just because I think that they're gonna

(26:14):
let Miami just hang around enough andthen you have Smo, you have Jimmy,
you have the rest advantage. Whichis significant and especially in Game one,
right with Miami having been off asignificant amount more days than Boston.
Yeah, I think that Miami's gonnapass for maybe two wins here. Do
you have I completely agree with that. I would love to be wrong.

(26:36):
I would love the Celtics to takecare of business in five games. It
just sort of feels like, especiallywhen you watch their series against Atlanta and
then against Philadelphia, two series thaton paper should have been much easier than
even this one against Miami. Youknow, those like should have been the
Hawks in five, gentlemen sweep. It should have been the Sixers in five,
you know, probably at worst sixgames, and the Celtics, as

(26:57):
we know, each of those serieswent longer they should have. So I
agree with your sentiment. They tendto just give opponents life, and I
hope that doesn't happen in this Conferencefinals rematch with Miami. But Jimmy Butler,
he does scare the Jesus out ofme. On the other side,
we know what he's capable of,especially this time of year. So all
of that in mind is you're lookingat this, do you have favorite plays,

(27:21):
favorite whether whether it's props or whateverit may be maybe it's the Celtics
against the spread for the first half. I don't know, whatever it may
be. Do you have favorite playsgoing into this game one? And I
will tell you also it is okayif one of those is part of your
people's parlay in the next segment. But but save the surprise if it is
so. Actually, one of myfavorite plays, right is for Miami to

(27:44):
win Game one and Boston to winthe series. You can get that as
high as plus four fifty. Andthe reason I like the hart canto it's
disgusting, right, So the reasonI like the reason I like it is
teams coming off a seven game seriesare thirty three and fifty two straight up

(28:04):
in game one of the following seriessince nineteen eighty eight. So that's one
of my buddies. Raheem Palmer ofthe Ringer. He came up with that.
He like manually fetched all that data. Right, It makes sense,
doesn't it. You know, youget in especially here, you're gonna give
Spoe extra time to coach, extratime to game plan against the rookie head

(28:25):
coach with a rest advantage right fromthe Miami heat. It just seems like
that's how they this would go.That's one of those games that Miami I
think can grab and Boston should stillwin the series. You know, maybe
then they regulate Game two, theybelow Miami out of the water. That's
one hundred percent of spot that Ilike. It's gross, but I think

(28:47):
it's one of those things where therest advantage matters, and it's not even
so much just the time off becauselike Boston's relatively young, right, so
for like al Horford, it's justthat Spoe is going to get that time
to game plan. And I thinkthat with this Boston team where when Jaylen
Brown Jason Tatum, when they kindof get into trouble, they still have

(29:11):
the fault to that iceo ball, and that always I think is scary for
a team that's gonna come back,Like we saw a Tatum just has an
incredible game second, right, butthe ball still like it. When I
was watching it, I'm like, the ball is just sticking. I mean,
it's just that he's making the shot, but the offense is gross,
Like it didn't look cohesive at theend of the game, but he just

(29:32):
was incredible and it's like he's beatingall of that. So I think that
in this spot, coming off thatbig win, you know you still have
to you still have to kind ofgear up again, get ready for a
new opponent that's gonna be very wellcoached. It makes me a little nervous
for It makes me a little nervousfor Boston. In Game one. We
only have about a minute before wehave to break. But how about a
favorite prop for Game one? Ilike Jason Tatum, and I like him

(29:56):
over four and a half assist. He's got over it in ten of thirteen
playoff games so far, averaging fivepoint two, and he went over in
four or six games last playoffs againstthe Miami Heat as well. So the
potentials are there. And the otherthing is they're gonna throw a lot of
doubles in him, I think, and the looks that he's able to give

(30:18):
his teammates are all ultra high qualitybecause the defense is gearing up on him.
Lakers have made this a game downeleven eight minutes to go and change.
If you have Denver with the points, I do just something to keep
an eye on. We'll see we'llbe sweating this one together. Yeah,
I think we might, all right. Yoki is back in the game now,
so yeah, it's it's time forthe takeover again. What a monster

(30:41):
effort by Davis to I'll give himthat needing to get that double double though
he's at seven rebounds. All right, we're gonna step aside. Delaia is
gonna stick around, help us outwith the people's parlay when we come back.
Sick and tired of old sports talkand want to get right into the
action. The Gambler with Adam Kaufman, has you covered call us now with
six months seven two six six sixeight six eight. That's six one seven

(31:03):
two six six six eight six eight. The Gambler with Adam Kaufman will be
right back after this on WRKO.Just keeping an eye on some of the
prop bets that I have. Igot a little bit cute in some of
these parlays, and what I meanby that, I can just see this
multi leg parlay going down because Ihave DiAngelo Russell for just one rebound.

(31:29):
I need one rebound for him.I have the over half a rebound and
he doesn't have it yet, andI'm admittedly I'm getting nervous. I feel
like that is going to be theleg that sinks me. It's always one.
It's like the Derek White didn't havean assist and Lebron. I need
a three pointer from Lebron. Howdoes Lebron not have a three pointer in
this game? I don't understand it. Jodelia from the Action Network is with
us Kaufman Year Watkins here and itis time to build out the People's Parlay

(31:55):
for tomorrow. Folks, if youhave been paying attention the People's Parlay in
a couple weeks of this show, and I will admit not great. Tonight,
not a very rare loss. We'dbeen riding hot. I think we
were what we were six and twogoing into tonight with the parlays and the
just the straits. If you playedthe legs singular, they're twenty one,
two and one. So we wehad been on fire through two weeks and

(32:17):
tonight a little bit cold. SoDlaia is going to help us try and
put things on the right track forWednesday at this point in time. So
Joe, start us off, asI said, any book, any wager,
that's up to you. But we'reall gonna play this. We're all
gonna we're all gonna make this bettogether. So what do you got?
I mean, Like I said,I love I really do love that Jason

(32:39):
Tatum assists play at four and ahalf. Um It's probably my favorite play
in the entire game. So Ilike him to go over the four and
a half. If you want too, I can give you a second play
too as well. I do havetwo spots that I'm looking at here,
well just you know, well,I'll play the Tatum one because that that's,
you know, your favorite, butlet's hear the other one just in

(33:00):
case people want, you know, want an option, all right, I
like Al Horford to go over sixand a half rebounds as well. I
know that they're saying they're going tostart Robert Williams, but his history against
Miami has been buyingamite. In thepast two seasons, including the playoffs,
he's averaging nine rebounds per game againstMiami. So I do like Al Horford

(33:20):
in this spot, and that linea little bit closer to even money too,
if you were looking to boost yourodds. So again, that's that's
up to you out there as youbuild this thing with us, Dan,
what are you as? So Horfordover six and a half rebounds was my
play. I totally agree. Wedid Joe last year in this series he
went over this number in five ofsix games he didn't play Game one and
last year's series. He's also goneover this number in five of his past

(33:45):
six this year against the Sixers,And as you mentioned, they're going to
be rolling out that same same startinglineup as they did in Game six and
games seven against the Sixers, withHorford and Williams both in there. So
I really like Al Horford to goover six and a half rebounds. But
if I had to pick a differentone, I would go with Chicago White
Sox money line. They're going againstPeyton Battlefield of the Guardians tomorrow night.

(34:06):
Cleveland is oh in six in PeytonBattlefield's starts this year. We went to
this this play last week. Ithits, so we'd go back to the
well there as well. But I'llgo with the Horford Horford over six and
a half rebounds, Tatum over fourand a half assist. Let me ask
you guys a question. Do Ikeep this as an all Celtics heat related
parlay or same game parlay? DoI do that? Or do I have

(34:30):
to? All Right, so whatI what I was going I will tell
you what I was going to do. Is I was going to offer Yankees
on the money line in Toronto. As much as it pains me to root
for New York anytime, I justthink it's a great spot, a great
bet, and a really good numberas well. I mean, you're getting
to even money with Garrett Cole onthe mound, so that that is that

(34:52):
is a play that I like.It is one that I will be playing.
But if we're we're making the samegame parlay, then very well,
I'm gonna I know Joe didn't directlysay that that that this is what he
believes, but I guess in amatter of speaking, I'm going to go
against Joe and I'm going to saythat the Celtics are not going to falter
in Game one. But I'm not. I'm not gonna go with the money

(35:14):
line. I'm not gonna go withthe uh with with the points for the
game. And we'll see, We'llsee how this thing plays out. What
I am going to do. Iam going to take the Celtics with the
points for the first half minus fourand a half points. Oh it's not
is not letting me wait hang on? Yeah, well I wanted to do
it, but I can't. Ican't build it it's not let me.

(35:35):
Uh, I mean the Yankees.I'm a New York I'm like, I'm
a New Jersey guy. I'm aYankee fan. So I mean, if
you need to put the Yankees inthe money line there, I mean I
can't. I can't begrudge you thatone. I may I may have to.
Let me just let me see ifI if I build this within the
same game parlay specifically, this issometimes we run into this on the on
the fly here. It's not lettingme either. Yeah, it's no unfortunately.

(35:59):
I mean I could do commented.Yeah, I could do first half
winn or full time winner something likethat. But I don't know that I
have uh. I mean, it'sit's effectively the same thing. I do
have faith in Boston coming out andwinning this game. If I did that,
it just feels a little soft.I mean, it's it's like plus
three something we can do better. So all right, I'm going to see

(36:19):
what the Yankees does for us ifI put in the Yankees money line.
I like that we do this altogetherwhile we're on too. It's it's it's
the real time building of this thing, and the line's already moving too.
So it's a good time to Yeah, this takes us to I'm seeing this,
This takes me anyway. On thebook, I'm using to write around
plus four fifty. I like thatbetter. So we have over four and

(36:42):
a half assists for Tatum, oversix and a half rebounds for Horford and
Yankees on the money line in Toronto. Work for everybody, works for me.
It sounds great to me. Evenif it doesn't. You have to
play it. I mean, theseare these are the rules, Joe.
But yeah, I feel good aboutthis combo. I'm into this. This
is a fun one. I likethe idea here. I always love a

(37:05):
little collaborative effort. Well, andand as I've said to Dan many times,
because again we we've just I'd loveto take like full credit, I
can't it because it's it's always athird me, a third Dan, a
third the guest. I'm finding ina couple of weeks that we've been doing
this with the absurd success rate we'vehad, it's a lot easier to build
a parlay with other people than tojust pick three legs by yourself. Definitely,

(37:28):
Yeah, everybody gets to make theirfavorite one, so yeah, exactly,
No, it's it's it worked outwell for the groove, all right,
So let me see Bett placed we'reinto that excellent and perfect well,
Joe, I really appreciate you hoppingon with us here. I intend to
bug you again for sure as theseplayoffs roll along, and what well,
while I've got you, we dohave to go in a second. But

(37:49):
while I have you, are you? Are you mostly NBADA delph into the
other sports as well, so wecan bug you in other seasons. Yeah,
I mean, I'm mostly an NBAguy, but come come the end
of the NBA season, I dabblewith a little bit of picture props in
baseball, and come at the endof the NBA season, I'll go into
that. And then I think, everybody bet some football, so I try

(38:12):
to not be. I try tonot be a casual of football, but
we do, we do our bet. Yeah. I was talking to our
buddy, our our mutual friend,Adam Rosenberg, who will get on this
show at some point too. Andthat's he and I were joking about that
earlier. Is that you know, ultimately, like you know, so and
so does this, so and sodoes that, and then the common denominators.
Everybody does football, Yeah, everybodydoes football. That's just the real

(38:35):
the nature of the beat. Souh, it's always fun to getting bet
in and then all of a suddenyou see your account having a lot more
value at the end of Sunday.Yeah, there you go. Joe Delayer
from Action Network, NBA bet CatchCash that podcast as well. So Joe,
thank you so much for hopping on. Like I said, we'll buggy
again down the line. There's apleasure. I really appreciate, appreciate you

(38:58):
having me on. Absolutely enjoy theend of this one. And Denver with
the points hopefully is looking pretty goodwith about six minutes to go in this
one. A lot of good stuffthere, Dan, Oh yeah, definitely.
And I know completely agree about theCeltics. It's probably going to be
at least a six game series becauseas we know, they're going to take
at least one game off where wecome on air here and I can already

(39:21):
picture the open here, the openin my head of your saying you're saying
that you're done with them, thatthey frustrate you to no end, and
then they bounce back, and youknow, and there's probably gonna be another
game, at least one game whereJimmy Butler takes over. So by that
math there, that's at least sixgames. So that's what I'm expecting.
I don't even want to think aboutit. The only thing we didn't really
talk to Joe bout though, isthis ankle injury for Jimmy Butler. That's

(39:45):
true, he's only average averaging, only averaging twenty four and a half since
that injury, and he's shooting justforty two percent, which is low for
him too, So I'm wondering howthat's going to impact. I'm really interested
to see what his ankle and howhe's how mobile he is tomorrow night in
this game. One of the thingsto watch for. Obviously, there are
a lot of things. Well,we'll talk a little bit more about this.
We'll pick up some more with theCeltics and heat when we begin the

(40:07):
second hour of this program. JeffUlrich is going to join us in a
little while, about twenty minutes. We'll talk PGA Championship and how to bet,
how to preview that obviously, youknow whether it's your outrights, your
top twenties, or make the cut, missed the cut, whatever. There
are a lot of different things thatwe will get into long shots as well,
and obviously we'll talk a little bitof NHL. He's a big hockey

(40:30):
guy too. Lay, he's callingin nice and early. We're gonna have
to tell him that he's not onfor another twenty minutes. He probably doesn't
want to sit on hold that long. He's in the coming room. Yeah,
So don't go sneak in a TVshow, all right, Watkins,
This here EJ Pacheco, our producer. I am Adam Kaufman. The Gambler
with Adam Kaufman. How we're twocoming up? Another hour of The Gambler
with Adam Kaufman is coming up onsix eighty w r KO, streaming live

(40:53):
on the iHeartRadio app and on yoursmart speaker. Just ask it to play
w r KO on Heart Radio.Gambling problem Hope is here, Call one
eight hundred and three to two sevenfifty fifty or visit gambling Helplinema dot org.
I was not expecting that to him, let alone first the cover.

(41:15):
The cover didn't happen because yo,kitch, the one thing he did wrong
the whole night. Ye, hehssed to free through the end, so
they pushed. I guess we'll takethe push. Yeah, Look, he
may have gone thirty four, twentyone, and fourteen tonight, but missing
that free you know, yeah, justin okay night, just okay. You
know, well he hits some oversfor me in some other categories, but

(41:35):
yeah, that free throw would havebeen nice. It would have been nice.
All right, let's go back tothe guest line. We've made him
wait far too long. Really,it's like we've made him wait for twenty
five minutes in a matter of speaking, because I was way looking back on
my text message is way too vaguein what time he should be calling you
to come on. So God blesshim, Jeff Ulrich. At least he's
on a different time zone out therein Western Canada. Moose, how are

(41:58):
you, buddy? I'm doing great. And to be honest, I mean,
it's just expected with you at thispoint. So I mean, I
you know, you tell me nine, it could be like nine like the
next year or something. So anyways, whatever, it's not a big deal.
Basketball game was on. It wasentertaining at the end, and yeah,
man, I mean, what alot of people are gonna hate Nikolai
Yokins just because of you know that, just because of one jot, Like

(42:22):
you got to say so it's nJeffrey Cover to be honest, Yeah,
no, it's it's absolutely nuts.Jeff does a lot of work over DraftKings.
We do stuff over there together,so make sure you check that out.
Obviously it's a lot of fun.But in addition to that, you
can find his work at Stochastic,at Matthew Berry's Fantasy Life. He's all
over the place. He's he mightbe standing outside Nick foles house. Anything

(42:45):
as possible with this man. Butas as his Twitter bio, bio will
tell you, and you can gethim at the Fantasy Grind on Twitter.
He is a Louis Eusta's an apologist. That is as good a way as
I know to transition us to golf. The PGA Championship begins in just a
couple of days out of Okill CountryClub in Rochester, and it's uh,

(43:05):
you know, typically well, andwe will do more of a preview tomorrow
as well. But you know,I think the mistake we made, and
it wasn't a major, but themistake we made last week it was we
started really talking about the tourney thenight before and it's like, man,
the podcast comes out and people havealready that they tee off in the morning.
People have missed an opportunity. Sowe're putting a little more shelf life
on this major tournament with you here, So get us started. What are

(43:28):
some of your favorite bets of anykind, whether it's outrights, long shots,
you know, top twenties, dealer'schoice man, What are your some
of your favorite bets going into thistournament? Yeah, for sure. I
mean, look, it's a majorchampionship, so I mean, you know,
I'm someone who really founds the outrightcard. I don't mind the variance.
I usually get futures going with youknow, with major championships, so

(43:50):
I have some exposure already. Butyou know, if you're if we're resetting
the board, we're just looking atit today, there are definitely a couple
of guys and I'm all, I'vealready added one, but a couple of
guys who I think are are kindof just they they've drifted in the odds
or there. There's like, youknow, there's been a shift in the
odds to where I think these people, these golfers are now actually like really
really good values. I'm gonna startoff with Max Homa plus four thousand.

(44:13):
I mean again, if you're lookingat the board right now, you know,
Max Homa was a player who's probablyup the plus twenty five hundred for
this event. At some point afterhe had won, he's drifted down and
I don't really there's really no reasonfor it. I mean, this is
a golfer who has all his winshave come on tough courses, all of
them. You know, you atQuail Hollow, TPC Potomac, which is

(44:34):
actually pretty close here and actually verygood comparable for Oak Hill in my opinion,
and also Riviera, So you know, like this is a player who
just handles tough conditions. Well, this course is a long parted avenue with
really juicy rolph. It's it's gonnabe tough. And Max Homa, who's
a player, can handle that.So there's no no way he should be
double Patrick Candiley in this kind oftournament. I think that's a very very

(44:57):
good out right now. We're justjust looking at the board right now.
Again, player I'm I already hada little bit exposure to, but I'm
happy adding to at that number. And then my guy who I really feel
like people are just again like they'rethey're into but aren't as into as they
should be. And it's Jason Dayand he's plus twenty eight hundred, and
again I referenced the guys below him, Fenwe, Canada, Lexander. I

(45:17):
mean, we're talking about the formernumber one player in the world who just
you know, went out and shotsixty two against Scotti Sheffley last weekend.
If this guy's as confident as helooked, plus twenty eight hundred as an
askalute bargain. So right off thebat, those are those are the two
outrights I'm looking at today. Iwill say I do like Fenwe. I
have exposure to him as well goingdown the board. Really like Tommy Fleetwood's

(45:42):
number two. But you know,if you're looking for a couple of guys,
elite players with good numbers, Ithink Day and Homer are the best
available right now. Jeff, whatdo we see out of Rory McElroy this
week? It's been a disappointing yearso far at big tournaments. He's missed
the cuts, miss cuts at boththe Players and the Masters. He tied
for forty seventh Wells Fargo. Itused to be you know, so far
this season it's been the big threeat the top, with Scheffler, Ram

(46:06):
and Rory. But now Rory's fallenoff there and it's really just a big
two. So what do we seeout of him? I mean, I
think you know, Rory McIlroy's majorrecord speaks for itself. He may not
have won, you know, sincetwo thy fourteen, it's almost a decade,
which is insane, but nine toptens in the last fifteen major championships.
You're probably going to see Rory bounceback. He's just too good not

(46:30):
to. Um, you know, the news is, you know he's been
looking at this hard, at hisswing, going to coaches, even talked
to Tiger Woods about his swing. You're probably gonna see Rory have a good
Weekum do I love him for thewind here? The number is certainly good
enough as plus fourteen hundred. Again, like we're almost he's almost in the
same realm as guys like Kamali andchoflay now on DraftKings where I think it's

(46:52):
it's it's fine, but it's notreally the setup that I'd wanted for Rory.
He likes more scoreable conditions, youknow, high rough It's not really
what I'd want. Um, SoI think you'll see Rory bounce back A
top ten would not shock me atall. But I think that what you'll
see from Rory is as the seasongoes on, you'll see him potentially return

(47:12):
to form. I like his chancesat the Open. He's won at hoy
Lake before. But this week,I just think you'll see him play well.
I think, you know, hemaybe scanted some kind of backdoor top
ten. I fully expect he'll bounceback. I'm just not there with him
in the l right market at all. And what about Terrell Hatton. He's
playing really well right now, backto back top five finishes the past two
weeks. I'm looking at plus thirtyfive hundred to win, plus seventy five

(47:35):
plus seven fifty top five plus threethirty top ten or do you have any
exposure to him? I mean Hattonis super reasonable, Like it's you know,
I mentioned those you know Day andHoma. I think Hatton au plus
thirty five hundred is super reasonable aswell. He's got He's played really outside
of like a two stretched tournament,he's played extremely well. Um. I
think the tougher conditions actually helped him. He's very consistent off the team's not

(47:59):
going to get in touch double there. I think this is a fine setup.
So you know, hadd is oneof those players I may look bad
Wednesday or do something with potentially onthe daily fantasy side as well. I
just think it's it's a solid number. Of My problem with Hatton is I
always just wonder what his absolute upsideis. We've seen him blow up in
majors before. He's only got onewin on the PGA towo it doesn't mean

(48:21):
that much. But I'll be deadhonest, if I'm targeting a player,
you know kind of to break through, I want a little bit of a
bigger number, and I want someonewho especially with the guy who I'm just
not sure about talent wise. SoI've brought up Fleetwood before. You know,
those two players, I just don'tthink there should be that big a
gap between them. I think TommyFleetwoods played extremely well the season two and
Fletwood has a far better major championshiprecord than Hadden too when you look at

(48:45):
the long term. So I don'tmind Haddon. I would not shock me
if he broke through. I justlike the number that you're getting with Fleetwood
better at plus sixty five hundred.I really think if you want one long
shot player to really hammer home inthe l Right market at you know,
plus five thousand are bigger Leawood? Is that Matt you should be targeting.
I like that, play like thatplay a lot. And then are you
targeting any live guys this week?We really haven't talked about the live at

(49:07):
all on the show yet. Yeah, no, absolutely, And I'm glad
you brought it up because you knowyou are still getting a bit of a
live discount. I'll call it onsome names, you know, Dustin Johnson
and Brooks Keepka. I mean Dustin'sa plus three thousand, another completely reasonable
number in my opinion. Again, not my favorite play or anything this week.
But the guy I really like isa Lwaukee Neieman a plus seven thousand,

(49:29):
And I don't just necessarily want abet Neeman in the l Right market,
but he's minus one twenty for atop forty. This is the players
made the cut in each of thelast nine major championships. He's played.
Is T sixteen at the Master's acareer best finished there. That's typically since
the PGA has moved to May,that's been a real good indicator, Like

(49:49):
if you play well at the Masters, generally most of the players who played
well there played well again at thePGA Championship. It's just a short turnaround.
Uneman's a really, really talented player. I love this kind of set
for him. It's iron base, you know. Um, it's just a
tough golf course, which is againyou know, Nieman's got wins at Riviera,
is third at Memorial. I reallylike that for a top forty at
minus one twenty. The two gamesI'm targeting there, Ricky Fowler, Jaukee

(50:14):
Neeman. I think both those guysreally good numbers. And the last guy
I gotta ask you about is Jordan'sspeek. Looks like he's gonna play that
risks. He's got the tape allover. I saw some photos from doing
his practice round today. You gottascroll pretty far down the board to find
him. What it's he at plusforty five hundred to win, plus eight
hundred and top five. How doyou feel about speed this week? Or

(50:34):
are you just staying away with thatinjury? I mean it's it's you know,
things happen. You know, wegot the Michael Jordan's flue game things
like that. Who knows, butthere we go. M Jordan's speek with
a bust and risk on the thickestrough the players are gonna see all season
on a tough golf course. Iwant to know part of it. Um.
Yeah, the number is really tempting, but it's it's temping for a

(50:58):
reason. He's injured and you knowhe's not coming in with the kind of
prep he wanted. He wanted toplay last week. I think it's better
just to lay off and again wehave like it's a deep feel. You
know, if it was Jordan's speedagainst like a couple top ten players,
sure we'd be interested. But Maxholm, is there a plus four thousand?
I just mentioned Fleetwood? Is thata bigger number? And even a guy
like Ricky Fowler. I'd rather takeshots with those guys. Jeff, we'll

(51:20):
give you another golf question or twoand mixing some hockey Eastern Conference Western Conference
playoffs getting started this week as well. We'll do that on the other side.
To stay with us, it's TheGambler with Adam Kaufman. Sick and
tired of old sports talk and wantto get right into the action. The
Gambler with Adam Kaufman. As youcovered, call us now with six one,
seven, two, six, sixsix eight six eight. That's six

(51:44):
one seven two six six six eightsix eight. The Gambler with Adam Kaufman
will be right back after this ison WRKO. Who's back with us.
That's of course, Jeff baal Rickfrom DraftKings Matthew Berry's Fantasy Life Stokay to
call over the place, Jeff,we're talking a little PGA championship begins on
Thursday. We'll get to the NHLplayoffs in just a second as well.

(52:06):
But you know, we you offeredus a bunch of outrights that you're sort
of dabbling around with guys that youlike, whether it's Maxhoma, Jason Day,
Tommy Fleetwood, maybe Dustin Johnson asa live guy, some Rory McElroy
potentially to sneak into the top ten, some Tom Forties, Joaukee Nieman,
Ricky Fowler. That's just kind ofa review of some of the things we
talked about last segment. We didn'treally talk about John rom or Scottie Scheffler,

(52:31):
and I know part of that isbecause it's a little boring, right
like they're the co favorites that it'syou don't have this this long shot number
or anything like that. Like I'mseeing plus seven to fifty for each of
them. But at the same time, Ram has seven wins his last thirteen
months, Scheffler has six his lastfifteen months. At a certain point in

(52:51):
time, do you overthink it?Oh, yeah, for sure. I
mean, look like we're we're ina little realm of golf where the favorites
have just been cleaning up. Imean, you mentioned Scheffler and Ram I've
been I've just been getting it done. And it's it's been more of a
trend too, Like it's not justthem. I mean, you know,
Fen now is one events as favorites. So you know, golf betting is

(53:14):
fickle, Like we've we've we wentyears where it was really good Toad,
big favorites like that, and wegot like thirty forty one winners. We
go, like, you know, every every week. It just seemed like
we'd be getting someone like that. But um, you know, right now
the favorites are getting it done andum certainly you know they're the top two
players in the world. They deserveto be talked about. My my take

(53:35):
on them this week is, youknow, if you're going to bet one
and I'm not, I mean,and I think it. It's it's I
do think that the best strategy ofthis week is still to start further down.
It's just such a deep field, and I really do think that.
You know, you'll see more playersplay a little bit more consistently as the
year goes on and win more. But if I was starting wanted to be
John rob Um, you know,I think Rom is still the superior player.

(53:58):
Nothing against Scheffler, it's really close. But John Rom at the top
of his game is the best playerin the world. The fact he's you
can even get him at a biggerodds right now on DraftKings a plus seven
fifty versus plus seven hundred, Ithink is interesting. I mean, I
didn't really expect that, but neitherof these players from a setup. It's

(54:19):
interesting how these players have approaches eventbecause Scheffler took a couple of weeks off,
played last week, he was lightsout to start, wasn't so good
on the weekend, and then Romhasn't played for three weeks, so again,
like they're they're taking a bit ofa They're both taking different approaches to
this event than what we've seen favoritesdo in the past. Concerns me a
little bit concerns me enough, certainlynot to take them at that short number.

(54:39):
But if you're just hell bent ontaking one, and I would certainly
lean rom We'll get to hockey ina second. But one other guy,
what about Patrick Cantlay? You knowhe's eighteen to one. Looking at him
right now, there's there's a littlebit of value he is. His best
finish wasn't twenty nineteen this tournament. He was third comes in top ten finishes

(55:00):
in a dozen events this season. If I were to sound like you for
a moment and sound smart on golf, I would tell you that he's second
in total driving, eighth and greensin regulation, sixteenth in strokes gained putting.
So how do we feel about Cantleycoming into this thing? I mean,
Klay's an incredibly strong player. Imean, you know, he's He's

(55:22):
all over leaderboards this year too.He smashing the ball. The Tina Green
game has been great. He hasn'treally like kind of got it all together
with the putter yet, which iskind of why he hasn't won yet.
He just about one at the Heritage. But you know, he's a player.
He's probably the best player in theworld without a major. It's either
Hammer, Xander Shockley, I'd say, I mean, you could throw a
fee now in the mix there, but certainly a player people are expecting the

(55:44):
breakthrough soon, and I really don'thave a problem with it. I think
that again, if you're taking thestrategy of fading the favorites, you could
even start with both Xander and Kamway. I mean, these are two players
who are just they're in the contentionall the time. They're they're one big
beak away and it will happen forI think for both of them eventually.
But um cali Is is certainly aplayer who, um, you know,

(56:07):
I have no problem with this weekwon't shock me if he wins. I
think his number has been bent downto a point where you know there's there's
better options than the board, likeI mentioned day at Home obviously, But
at the same time, Lai isa very very high quality player, um,
and you know, I think thiskind of course where it's gonna play
tough, it's not super super longand brutal like a US Open. I

(56:30):
think that I think it's a prettygood set up for him. So I
have no problem with them. It'sjust how you've gone constructing your card.
You already have exposure to him,are you okay? Just taking the plus
sixteen hundred and maybe shortening your betson other guys. I've Cali is great.
Um, it's just you know,he's got a breakthrough in the major
and I would the only thing I'dsay is he hasn't really done enough in

(56:51):
majors to deserve this number, Butthe talent is so obvious that you know
he may just end up paying off. Anyways, all right, let's make
it a little bit of hockey becauIs. You're not just a golf guy
or obviously a football guy. Everybody'sa football guy, it seems like in
this space, but you are verymuch a hockey guy. And you know,
we're down to the final four, not necessarily the final four we would
have drawn up. We would likeBoston to still be around, You would

(57:14):
like Edmonton to still be around.Instead. It is Florida in Carolina for
Game one tomorrow on Friday, Dallasin Vegas against the Golden Knights. The
Hurricanes are the outright betting favorites towin the Stanley Cup, obviously favored in
the East, whereas Vegas favored inthe West. Overall approach to these series
in terms of how you're going tobet them, if you're going to bet

(57:35):
them. Yeah, So, Imean, you know, right now,
I really like the Hurricanes. Iknow they're the favorites, but that is
kind of where I would be going, you know, if you're just looking
at future's odds right now. Todayit's the team who you know, everyone
expected after I expected out of troublebecause they were down their wingers and it
just hasn't materialized. They've got reallygood depth scoring. I think they've got

(57:57):
the best goaltending left in the playoffs. I mean, you know, again,
Sergey Babroski has been brilliant, butI just don't know how much longer
that will last. I have myI would have my concerns, and Florida
has been, you know, laxeddefensively, and I really think that the
number of shots are allowing and chanceswill will really hurt them against Caroline,
who's been was very very opportunistic againstthe Devils. So I don't trust the

(58:22):
Golden Nights goaltending situation enough. Ilike the way they played against Emmonton,
obviously, but the Oilers also kindof handed them that series by starting Stewart
Skinner all the time. Um So, I think the Hurricanes of plus two
twenty five is a that I reallylike. I also kind of like just
betting the Stars in that series againstVegas. Again, the Stars gave up

(58:44):
some goals, they they got downagainst the crack and a couple of times
that they're resilient. They came whenthey needed to come and play, they
came to play. They have agoaltending edge with Jake Ottinger, who again
been a little bit up and down. When when the difference between the Stars
and the Oiler's netminding is when theStars needed their net minor to bail them
out, he bailed them out andthe Oilers never got that. I think

(59:06):
the Stars can beat the Vegas GoldNights, so I would take I would
take the Stars there on the seriesand then Carolina in the outright market for
the futures. I'm out in termsof awards for the con smythe as we're
thinking ahead to obviously the most valuableplayer the Stanley Cup Final or for the
playoffs in general. Sebastian Aho isthe favorite right now. I'm seeing him
at plus six fifty, Jack Eichelbehind him, at plus seven fifty,

(59:29):
and then you know you've got guyslike uh Kachuk and Stone Goldies, Freddy
Anderson, Sergey Erbrovski. What areyou thinking, I'll be dead? Honest,
I haven't given much consideration to thisaward. But you know, you
know, if you're if you're ofthe opinion of you know, like that
Carolina is a is a good bedand and they're they're the best team.

(59:51):
You know, basically if you're followingwhat I'm throwing out, certainly looking to
Anderson and Aho at those numbers makesa ton of sense. I mean,
Brent Burns is down there, Martiniquas, um, but you know, are
those guys like like Niquas could couldwin, but he have to go on
an absolute heater, I think toget real consideration, especially over Anderson and

(01:00:13):
Aaho, I mean, you canconceivably take both, you know, Aho
and Anderson and maybe just you knowheades that way. But I do like
those numbers on on the Carolina players. Um. The other way to play
it, though, is you know, looking at the Dallas Stars, You're
still able to get some pretty bignumbers here. I mean, you know,
Jason Robertson is a player at plustwenty five hundred. I mean,

(01:00:35):
if he has a big series againstthe Golden Knights, um that number could
get real small, real fast.So something to think about there. I
know the scoring has kind of beenall over the place on Dallas, but
m rupe Hansen is the other guy, A big guy on Dallas I really
like. I know I mentioned himthe last time I was on and he
just had a fantastic end to thatseries. But him sick Dallas makes it

(01:00:57):
through would be a good target. But again I just stick with Carolina guys.
I really think they're they're positioned extremelywell to win right now. I
think when you were wrong with us, you picked rupe Hains to have an
anytime goal on the one night ofthe whole playoffs that he didn't score goal,
right actually that whole series, itwas like the only game of the
series they didn't score. We dohave to wrap but very quickly just looking

(01:01:19):
ahead to the game ones in thisseries in terms of just some of the
early money and handling all of that. The only kind of consensus between these
two games are just in general isthe overs. People are chasing the overs
over five and a half goals ineach of these two games, do you
do you think that trend will willbe profitable at least for game one?

(01:01:40):
You know, I actually I wouldlean under. Um. I don't know
about the Dallas Vegas Golden Nights one. Necessarily the goal sending there probably scares
me a little bit too much. But I think Florida Carolina I could definitely
see going under in game one.I actually as some of the bets i'd
written down here just for that gameunder one point five goals in the first
period at plus one L five.Carolina is a tight team at home.

(01:02:02):
They're not going to allow a tonof chances. And again, like Webrowski
has played fine, you know, and even if Forda gives up a bunch
of shots, there's no guarantee thatCarolina, you know, comes through with
a couple of goals. So Ikind of see that first game as one
I'd like to kind of take theunder on again the Dallas Vegas one.
I just feel like both those teamsare capable of scoring like three goals in
three minutes at any time, SoI'd probably be more prone to go over

(01:02:25):
there. But certainly the first gamethe first series Eastern Conference I could see
being tighter than people think. Ireally could. I will. I won't
be shocked if it's it's just alot of close games. Jeff, I
love you, buddy. Thanks forhopping on with us. Okay, man,
have a good one. Thanks John. We'll do it again. Jeff
Alrech always so good. From DraftKings, from Matthew Berry's Fantasy Life.
Also from Stochastic. A lot ofgreat PGA and NHL talk right there.

(01:02:50):
We will come back and put thisshow to bed. Need a vent about
bad bets. You've come to theright place. Tell us about it.
Call six one seven two six sixsix eight six six one seven two six
six six eight six eight, orif you're listening on the iHeartRadio app,
use the tuckback button. The Gamblerwith Adam Kaufman. We'll be right back

(01:03:13):
after this on WRKO. I've gotthe Dodgers on the money line tonight,
and so I'm just kind of watchingout of the corner of my eyes.
We were talking to Jeff, andI think it was Freddie Freeman. I'm
not positive, but final out ofthe previous inning flew out to the warning
track with a man on the homerwould have tied the game. I got
him run line. Yep, stilltime, still time. I'm already looking

(01:03:38):
ahead to this game to these twoteams are playing tomorrow afternoon, three thirty
East East Coast. First pitch,Sonny Gray on the Mountain. He's been
dominant this year, absolutely dominant, lights out well, So that in mind
as we do put this show tobed, we look ahead to tomorrow,
dream about our bets. What aresome of your favorites tomorrow? Yeah,
So I really like that White Soxmoney line play that I mentioned in the

(01:04:00):
People's Parlay segment. That would havebeen my backup pick besides the Horford rebound
prop. Going against Peyton Battlefield hasbeen a cash cow so far this season,
as I mentioned before, Cleveland ohin six when he gets the ball
to start the game. So Ilike the White Sox and they got Mike
Clevenger on the mountain, so alittle old team revenge there factor as well.
Sonny Grand the amount, I'm interestedto see what his strikeout props going

(01:04:24):
to be. He's been just he'sbeen amazing, to say the least,
at what he's been doing lately.Nine strikeouts in his last start and he
only worked into the sixth inning. He's just kind of refound his form from
like five six years ago. Solooking forward to that one A lot of
day baseball, I mean, theYankees Blue Jays series is getting interesting.

(01:04:45):
You know. You had the AaronJudge thing Monday night. Aaron Judge homard
again tonight. By the way,he's got like the five home runs in
his last four games. And thenyou got the Domingo Herman got thrown out
of the game for stuff on hishands. That was something that came up
earlier in the year, and thentonight he finally got caught and tossed.
And then Nolan Arronado has homered infive straight game. He did it again
tonight. He did. Oh.I really thought about playing it, and

(01:05:05):
I was like, na, he'snot gonna go all griffy and just keep
the streak alive, man. Andit was like plus four forty or something.
Really, I didn't even yeah, maybe even more than that. Yeah,
it didn't even didn't even like crossmy mind to look at that today.
I just didn't think he would dofive in a row either. It
very much crossed my mind. ButI didn't do it. I did not

(01:05:27):
do it. Um, you know, I tell you the best thing,
as you're talking about Sonny Gray andpeople like that, the best thing I
could have done for my bank rollso far this week is that I have
not gone crazy on strikeout props, because I if I went, I backed
off on him too. Yeah,if I went back and looked, I
would be willing to bet that.I mean, obviously I've and I'm this
like, I'm sure this is trueof most people. This isn't unique to

(01:05:49):
me. But I would be willingto bet the vast majority of my losses.
And I'm probably down more than Iam up when it comes to strikeout
props specifically, but I bet thevast majority of my losses are by the
hook. Probably. It's not like, you know, I wasn't reading it
right, you know, It's likeI had under five and a half and
the guy had eight. You know, I would be willing to bet the

(01:06:10):
majority are by the hook. Oh, So that's It's just it's crazy.
Absolutely. It's One of our guestslast week mentioned this when we were talking
baseball, that they kind of justpumped these numbers up because people love overs,
yeah so much. I think thatwas it might have been Matt Meiselman
talking to us about that. Soactually I was messaging earlier with Ariel Epstein,
who you make as the prop queen, does a lot of stuff for
Points bet USA MLB network as well. Want to get her on the show

(01:06:34):
maybe next week so she can tellus how we should be betting strikeout props
because I need to be better.I need to be better. Obviously.
The key focus tomorrow night in termsof our main interest level is going to
be the Boston Celtics and we'll becoming on just after halftime, So looking
forward to that and curious to seesort of any line movement or any of

(01:06:55):
that during the day, what goeson as far as some other things that
I am on tomorrow, And I'venot place the bets yet. I'll do
that in the morning. I liketo just sort of, you know,
let the bank roll finalize tonight beforeI start getting heavy into tomorrow. But
I'm sure I'll be on the Diamondbacksin Oakland again, likely on the run
line as well, Orioles against theAngels. I will be, you know,

(01:07:15):
going after Baltimore for sure, lookingat the run line. Maybe with
this Brewers game in Saint Louis, the Braves in Texas another one that's intriguing
the Braves in general and the moneyline. He hasn't given up a run
in twenty five innings. Yeah,in Spencer Strider, who is the NLSI
young favorite right now. He hasbeen terrific and of all, he can't
do that forever. He actually,Strider's the only guy who I trust on

(01:07:40):
a strikeout prop because he has justbeen striking out like ten a game.
It's true. It's it's like Striderand Joe Hay are the only two guys
with strikeout props that I that Ican be comfortable with. But meanwhile,
there's still stuff that I'm sweating tonight. So we're gonna see, like I
said, what the what the bankroll with the record, what the ROI?
All of that stuff looks like atthe end of the night. A
lot of that is going to bevery dependent on this West Coast baseball,

(01:08:02):
but a lot of great stuff tonight. I'll work terrific. Obviously, I'm
looking ahead of the PGA Championship aswell as NHL. We'll if Jason Sobel
with us tomorrow from the Action Networkto join us once again second straight week,
help us preview the major He's outthere in Rochester. We will have
someone yeah, on location in inin the golf house. We'll have to
ask him about that. Who he'swith. Well, please, I just

(01:08:26):
want to say, Ghos, Spursgo, we got Wimby number one pick,
Spurs are rebuilding. Let's go thisguy, Eja. I know we
didn't. We didn't even mention Wmbanyamaat all in this show. Off to
San Antonio the next you know,David Robinson, Tim Duncan elite number one
pick that has fallen into Greg Popovish'slap to make the skirt the Spurs relevant
again and uh and probably will soyeah, but sorry if you're a Detroit

(01:08:48):
Pistons fan, that obviously did notwork out terribly well for you tonight,
falling out of that top four entirely. Uh, maybe we'll spend a little
time on that tomorrow, but again, Celtics will be our main focus.
Well, if someone on to talkNBA with us, looking forward to that
and just great stuff, great stuffoverall, and obviously earlier in the show,
Joe Dahlia a lot of good stufflooking ahead of that series and talking

(01:09:10):
about the West as well. Sofor EJ. Pacheco, Dan Watkins,
