Speaker 1 (00:01):
W r k O presens Boston's only nightly sports betting show,
The Gambler with Adam Kaufman. Now from nine till midnight,
your home to talk spreads, props, totals and more. Hey, Doc,
And what's the harm of bringing back a little info
in the future? Now, maybe we could place a couple
of deaths. The Gambler starts Now, all I have to

(00:23):
do is bet on the winner and I'll never lose.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Kears, Adam Kaufman, what's.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Up everyone, Welcome to Thursday. This is The Gambler with
Adam Kaufman. Welcome in. I am here. Dan Watkins is here.
Hey Dan, Hey, Hey, what's up? So we have got
a fun night ahead, a little bit different than typical
Thursday obviously, when we would normally do just loads and
loads wall to wall football going back weeks at this

(00:53):
point there would be college football this time of year,
with the playoffs especially, it's that much more. NFL is
going to be football during the second hour of the show.
Very much looking forward to it. We're going to for
the first of a couple of times, I think, because
we'll do it again with some different people next week,
just different perspectives, different cities, different people involved. We'll get

(01:15):
the writers or radio people's perspectives in the respective super
Bowl cities Kansas City and Philadelphia as we inch our
way because God does feel like a long wait, doesn't
it inch our way out to Super Bowl fifty nine
in New Orleans? I think if we bring that up
enough times, maybe Dan, you know, somebody here in management

(01:36):
will listen say.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Like, yeah, how you think she'll go? Is that how
that works?

Speaker 5 (01:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Radio Row, Yeah, it starts on Monday. You should be
there for it.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Seriously.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I like that idea.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Let's pitch that we might be there by ourselves at
this time of night. But fine, good, you have the
whole auditorium or wherever they are.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Not as many people parading around. That's when it's gonna
be a little tough to get guestsed. That's the only
thing I've done, the Radio Row thing a few times.
And if for yeah, for our time slot or people
that work this time slot national radio, like usually the
routine you're kind of working all the time, you know,
outside of your shift, because you're marching up and down
Radio Row throughout the day when it actually is busy,

(02:15):
trying to get guests, and then pre record them so
you can air them later on at night. So actually
your show other than when you're taking callers is pretty light, Yeah,
kind of a light lift. But no, we'll be here.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
That's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
We've got a lot of good stuff planning. We're going
to you know, we'll be talking plenty about the game,
as we have been. We've gotten great perspectives throughout the
week already, Aton Shander on Shopper on with us last night.
We had Wes Reynolds Bison on with us earlier this
week tonight, beat Writers radio people, Dusty li Likens, he
was on with us last week talking about the Chiefs
ninety six to five, the fan and Casey. He'll come

(02:50):
on with us a little less than an hour from now.
John McMullen, first time around the show from Sports Illustrated
covers the Eagles, specifically for SI. He will join as well.
In the next hour, we'll continue to look at prop
betting opportunities, the right ways to approach betting on the
big game, line movement or lack thereof to this point
in terms of sides and totals and all of that.

(03:13):
All of it is in front of us here in
this opening hour We're going to be joined by Tom
Cassally from CBS Sports Line. Get into some college basketball,
a lot of late games tonight, a lot of late action,
including of course, multiple show picks. I've got the parlay
hasn't even started yet. I know I've got the Washington
State one. So this and I did this to myself.

(03:35):
I can only complain about myself here for this one.
You may remember toward the end of last night's show
when I was kind of hamming and hying about what
I wanted to give for a parlay pick. I said, boy,
the play I really like is Laker's minus six and
a half, but I don't want to do it because

(03:56):
I'll probably use it in my bank roll repair, use
it as a leg there. I'm not certain they'll cover
no ad. But I do really like this double edged
sword right here, both to Mike Keister, because I didn't
play the Lakers minus six and a half as a
show play. They, by the way, are up forty points
in the fourth quarter against the Wizards. I'd say that's

(04:18):
sweat free. But I also the day got away from
me and I never put out a bankroll repair, so
I just didn't use the Lakers and I would have
had that. I mentioned it too last night. I said,
I don't know what the third leg would be in
the college basketball street, so who knows, maybe that would
have been the leg that lost it. Anyway, but two
of the legs, and again we've got the tape, go

(04:38):
back to the podcast. Two of the legs most definitely
would have been a couple of favorites in the NBA,
the Lakers and the Cavaliers. Well, the Calves are up
by twenty points, so two of those legs wouldn't have
been a problem.

Speaker 6 (04:49):
Dan.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Now, maybe again I would have sunk it. In the
world of college basketball. It's not like we haven't been
on the wrong end of bad beats with that. God,
how about last night when we signed off, it was
looking very much like you were in no problem with
that under felt pretty sweat free. Our guest leg wasn't

(05:13):
gonna be an issue. The problem was gonna be me.
It was gonna be Pods, because Pods with Steve Kerr's
unpredictable rotation, wasn't gonna show up all of a sudden.
Pods in the second half gets hot, fourth quarter, Yeah,
brings it home for us. Justin Perry was the guest
leg right, he got it done. And as soon as Brian,

(05:35):
you know, because we'd signed off alerts of silver text
that pods got home even hit that plus money plus
two whatever ten.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Plus play plus two forty.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
I'm looking at it him and going, oh no, Dan,
yeah your play. It's got like thirty seconds left in
this game. We need no more points. Yeah, no more points.
Next bucket kills us I had.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
I had a twenty point cushion with two minutes left
to go. It was like two thirty seven I think,
and those teams were at one twenty six combined, and
then all of a sudden, just three pointers start, you know,
going in and free throws, and UNLV is down ten
points and they're still fouling, and it just it was
a parade to the free throw line and guys just

(06:16):
you know, hitting uncontested layups. And I'm driving home listening
to the Utah State Radio broadcast, which those two goobers
there you don't having the time of their lives. Well,
I'm like about to punch my radio. Uh it was yeah,
it sucks. We had we had the miracle cash on
one end, and then just you know, something just snatched fross.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
And it was so annoying too because between the like
I'm watching it on the Action app and between the
straight missing obviously, but also the parlay. More notably, it
was we literally went from like what would have been
a plus you know, five and a half unit day
to minus three and change something like that just on

(06:59):
that one bucket. Yeah, the one bucket swung US eight units.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
It sucked.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
So it was the double jerk for the show yesterday.
I jerked one parlay, you jerked the other, which again
I said this yesterday. If you're hitting two out of three,
you have to feel good overall about the process, you
know those that that means you're not completely canceling out
with juice, but you're coming pretty close to canceling out

(07:26):
with the parlay being a full unit play as well.
But man, I thought we were going to get that
one home. I really did, and that was that was
a bummer. So we started a new Tom Casally CBS
sports line, as I mentioned, is going to join us.
I didn't. I don't know if you ever pay attention
to this stuff on your Twitter account. This has nothing
to do with gambling. It's just an aside because I
just stumbled upon this, So I am one of those

(07:47):
people probably shouldn't be just tell it. Let's say a
little bit behind the curtain, a little bit more about
me as we do this show for a couple of
years now. I'm one of those people that like, if
if you unfollow me on Twitter, block me on Twitter?

Speaker 4 (08:05):
What it like?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
It fine? Like everyone has a choice as to who
they want showing up on their feed, even though with
this for you feed it doesn't matter anyway. You just
see everybody's tweets that you don't care about anyhow. But
what I do wish existed. I wish there was the
place that you could go to find out, you know,
like who.

Speaker 4 (08:25):
Who uh, who unfollowed you?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Not necessarily who unfollowed you, but if someone blocked you, okay,
like if you know, like if if you get blocked,
I wish there was a you know, you're not gonna
get like a notification about it, But I wish I
wish you could, like Google on some random Twitter related website,
like you know what, what accounts have you blocked?

Speaker 5 (08:44):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (08:45):
And the only reason I take note of this or
would notice this is because I generally have a pretty
good idea of the number of people that I follow,
not that follow me, but that I follow. And so
if I see that number go down but I didn't
unfollow anyone, it's like, oh, well, either someone un like
blocked me, or someone had their account suspended or something

(09:07):
like they've disappeared or deleted or deleted or whatever. Here's
the whole reason I bring this up. I saw this
for me, this number go down by a couple of
people recently, one of them pop back up. Whoever it was,
I have no idea. I didn't like dig in to
see like cross reference or whatever you went through like

(09:29):
Charlie Day with the with the corkboard, I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
It's aton. I know it. It's one of a five accounts.
Yeah right, But I just stumbled upon the mystery one
that was missing because I'm trying to put out our
show promo and I'm wondering, why can't I find Tom
Cassally well, like where like he's I know his Twitter

(09:56):
because I've typed it up enough times, the Tom Cassally,
why can't and I find it? So I search for
it just to see it, like does it exist? Like
not that he would intentionally block me or something, but
so his it. I I'm looking like at all these
all these people that got Matt Moore is going to
come on with us a little bit later on from

(10:17):
Action Network to talk through NBA.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
He very recently was having some sort of a back
and forth on Twitter with Cassally. So I try I
load up that conversation, you know, because I searched it
and that's what popped up. And when I try and
click the tom castally, it says this account doesn't exist.
H So we're gonna have to ask Sally what the
hell happened to his Twitter account?

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Interesting?

Speaker 5 (10:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Right, what's he doing out there with all these robots? Yeah,
you gotta be careful.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
To spend it. I hope not for some reason.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
I mean I I I want him to clear this up.
I can't imagine you just deleted his account.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
Do you have any like athletes or anybody in the sports,
like sports world that's blocked you that you know?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
There's only one that I know of, which is Isaiah Thomas.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Really?

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Yeah? Wait?

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Which which Isaiah?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Great question, the one with the extra a, the one
who used to play for the Celtics, who is currently
in the G League with the Salt Lake City team
whoever they are. I don't know why specifically, because I've
never talked to him ever, and I've done a Celtics
podcast for years, and I going back to that time

(11:30):
when he was here, very big supporter of Isaiah Thomas.
How could you not be, like, I can't imagine there
were a lot of people that hated Isaiah Thomas. But
there was one thing that I think kind of timed
out with the blocking with me noticing the blocking anyway,
because it'll say, like you go to the account, it's
like you're blocked, you know, during this whole like King

(11:54):
in the fourth nonsense that was happening for Celtics fans
that remember. One thing I was very vocal about was, yeah,
I mean, you can be the quote King in the
fourth and score twenty points per game the fourth quarter
with a ridiculous number. It wasn't that it was like
eleven or twelve, but you know what I mean, go
off for these all when you're you know, a defensive

(12:17):
liability on the other side, allowing just as many points.
You have to do that, like just to even it out,
you know what I mean. And and so I think
there was a little bit of a fense taken there, gotcha.
But also and this was not intended as disrespect. It
was like truly just like no different than something we

(12:37):
would do on this show. Just kind of thinking strategically
at that time. And I won't like dig back for
all the numbers or whatever, but there was there was
real data that's supported because remember the Celtics looked a
lot different back then than they do today, where they
just have top to bottom talent on the roster. They
could not score with the second unit. The bench was
awful starting five largely because of it, and all start

(13:01):
at the time pretty good, nothing off the bench, right,
And so he's had so much or had had so
much success in his career as like a sixth man,
as a reserve, as a as a microwave, a bucket,
you know, coming off the bench. I suggested, you know
what put him on the bench, like, don't change his minutes.
You know he's just not starting, like still playing the

(13:21):
same amount. Just lead the second unit and you'll get
all of that stuff. And so un like that, I
don't think he liked it. No, So that is that's
the one that I'm aware of. What about you?

Speaker 4 (13:34):
I have one as well?

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Is it Kurt Schilling.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
It's not Kurt Shilling for most people.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
I feel like, not that I know.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
I've never I mean I've I've always enjoyed I mean,
I I loved Kurt Shilling as a player. Yeah, like
I one of my favorite pitchers ever.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Sure not as much as a human.

Speaker 4 (13:47):
Yeah, yeah, but I've well, I've I've also always enjoyed
his baseball analysis. I mean, a fantastic analyst until he
you know, goes way off the deep end. But still Anyways,
no same time period as a Thomas and Boston Sports
also a Red Sox pitcher. Okay, Drew Pomerans. Yeah, I
think I might have got a little mouthy one night

(14:08):
on Twitter going off on Drew Pomerans. But but I
don't think I tagged him into tweet like the coward
that I am. Sure, So I think he searched his
name out probably one night after a bat those guys. Yeah,
and then I was definitely going off because just the
big sweeping curve ball every night was then just getting
launched over the monster. Yeah, so that was like twenty

(14:28):
seventeen ish. He've blocked me. I'm still locked.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
Yeah, No, I mean there were and look, there are
a lot of sensitive athletes that and sensitive people. There
are a lot of sensitive people in the gambling space.
I mean if you pay attention to Like even some
guests of this show will just go on and on
about how they just like zero tolerance, Paul Sy, I
block who it like. I'll tell you what. I don't
think I've ever blocked somebody. And I'm not I've muted.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
I mute a lot.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
See, I don't. I I don't think I have anyone
muted either. I just like, and I'm not going to
pretend like my skin is so thick that it never
gets to me. Like there there are definitely some tweets
that you know not so much now but maybe you
know of yester year that would put me in a

(15:18):
bad mood, but not not as much.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
And now it's just like all right, let's let's hear it.
Just get it off your chest, like it's I don't
I don't want you because if you're muted, like you're
just screaming into the void, who's that good for? At
least let me receive whatever it is that.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
You know, gotcha. Yeah, I don't mute people for coming soft.
I think the muting and no not for coming on.
Just soft are posting NonStop and it just turns into nonsense.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Oh that's different.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
Yeah, I'm like, okay, I don't need to read this
every single day, right, No, I'm.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Talking about the like the people that target you in
the mensions.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Yeah, no, I don't. I don't block any air mute
any of those.

Speaker 7 (15:54):
No.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
If you just want to mute people that you find annoying, yeah,
and you just don't like that, don't even know you
necess They're a whole handful of those that I have
considered beating that. I haven't believe me.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
Taking up time scrolling through all this nonsense.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, so I just walk and give out bets. Some
do all right, let's step aside.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
If there are games to be played, there are bets
to be made. I'll bet you twenty bucks. I can
get you gambled at forty end of the day.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
No way, or give me three to one.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
On five to one.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Here, get ahead of line movement, find in game value,
and hear the latest insights from your favorite industry experts.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
This is my gambling.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
If I win, we all win.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Tell your smart speaker to play that gambler with Adam
Kaufman on w RKO on iHeartRadio, hour.

Speaker 3 (16:52):

that full name wherever you get your podcasts. Track our plays,
tail them if you wish over on the Action Network app.
The Gambler with AK is the hand. A lot of
football this week, even more next week, no exception. Tonight.

(17:16):
Let's get into tonight's little version of our Chiefs Eagles
Super Bowl fifty nine preview with someone who was kind
enough to join us last week inviting him on back.
Dusty Likns covers the Chiefs among other teams there in
Kansas City for ninety six five the fan. I'm sure
very excited that he's got two more weeks to talk

(17:38):
about this team, and who knows how much longer after that,
with all of the comparing dynasties and looking at New
England versus Kansas City, and Tom Brady versus Patrick Mahomes,
Andy Reid, Bill Belichick, on and on and on and
on and on. We did some of that last week.
We don't need to do it today. But you're one
step closer, Dusty, gotta feel good out there.

Speaker 6 (18:00):
It feels great. It's it's almost to the point where
it's surreal because I know you you guys that do
the Patriots like you remember this all too well. That's
not I didn't mean to do Taylor Swift or I
really didn't, but it's it's I really didn't.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
I promise. I know it sounds biased, but.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
It's in the water out there now, man, it's just
in your blood. You can't you can't avoid it.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
You know.

Speaker 6 (18:23):
I'm going to the bar room in the high fade.
I'm getting my beard trim perfectly. You know, Man, I'm
screwed for life. It's like the early midlife crisis that
this is it. Cancel me now, No, it's it's interesting
because it's, uh, I mean, I'm sure you guys are
used to this. I mean, it wasn't that far long
ago that you guys were doing this in your prime.

(18:44):
And I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm kind of
a Patriots fan. And I know that sounds weird to say,
but it is what it is.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Well, and we know that expression all too well obviously,
so we appreciate that drop. But look, uh, not not
how much has change from you know, the open to
where we are now what five days later? Basically, Chiefs
won a half point favorites. The total forty nine and
a half it opened at. There's still some of those
out there drops down to forty nine forty eight and
a half depending on where people do their shopping. But

(19:16):
I think most notably, this is a rematch of what
we saw two years ago, very high scoring game. It
was the field goal walk off win by Butcker for
the Chiefs thirty eight to thirty five that started this
run of a potential three peat here. And what's interesting, Dan,
I don't know if you run into this, I feel
like most people that I talk to, it's like I

(19:38):
think the Eagles are going to win, and it's not
even with bias and rooting for it, Like we around
here are certainly rooting for Philadelphia because you know, God forbid,
we feel threatened. We don't want to have you know,
the Patriots didn't threepeat, the Chiefs can't three peat. But
I feel like a lot of people do genuinely in
their heart of hearts at least they're saying they believe
the Eagles are going to win. And yet I'd be

(20:00):
willing to bet Dusty when all's said and done, when
you start looking at splits and all that, like the
bulk of the money is going to be on the
Chiefs because who has the nerve to bet against Patrick
Mahomes At this stage he just underdog in the playoffs,
short favorite in the playoffs. Whatever it is, dude doesn't
seem to lose. So what's the attitude out there? Is
there a is Are there any nerves or is there

(20:23):
an expectation that this you know, you got another barade
around the corner?

Speaker 5 (20:28):
Yeah, I don't think it's nerves quite yet.

Speaker 6 (20:30):
Now I think if you were to do this again
next week, which willing to if you need to, But like,
I don't think there's nerves yet because again, this is
the third.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
Straight year we've been here.

Speaker 6 (20:40):
This is kind of like week before Christmas, right, like
you know that it's coming. But if you get excited
now or you start to let the nerves sort of
like swell in your system, then you're not doing yourself
any good.

Speaker 5 (20:53):
I think we go back and again.

Speaker 6 (20:55):
This is why I continue to say this, like I've
started as I've gotten older, like to appreciate.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
The patriot way and the way that they said it.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
I mean, obviously Julian Edelman on rich Isis Show is
fantastic audio, like that guy used to hate him. But
also like, you know, you get to this point in
this franchise where you know, I think this year is
a little bit different because they went fifteen in two,
fifteen to one. Realistically, let's be honest, Week eighteen didn't matter,
but fifteen to two, that's the record. That's what says,

(21:25):
and you tell yourself, yeah, the regular season, but you know,
like you guys would do in your dynasty, run the
regular season in start till January, and like great teams
that have in March madness, like, yeah, conference plays cool,
there's rivalries.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
You might win some, you might lose some.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
You get to the Big twelve, the Big the SEC Tournament,
the Big Ee whatever it is, and it's kind of like, okay,
now the gear's just starting to move. And then you
get to the games that starts to really matter. And
I'll be honest with you, the AFT Championship game, everybody
in Kansas City knocks in their stomach. It is Josh
Allen is the MVP. It is Buffalo. Like eventually they've
got to win one. Right, Well, now we do the

(22:01):
same thing next week when Philadelphia and.

Speaker 5 (22:03):
Kansas City play.

Speaker 6 (22:04):
You go back to the old days and when it
was always who's playing quarterback, who's coaching? Is it Brady
is at Belichick? Yep, it's both of them. Okay, I'm
gonna take that advantage. So when you look at this
game and you think of Okay, it's Sirianni and Jalen
Hurts versus Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, I think you
have to no bias at all. I think everybody in
the world would say you take Mahomes and Andy Reid.

(22:25):
The other thing that kind of sticks out is that
in matchups in the Super Bowl, when this team has
played the other team before and one, that team is
four and oh. Most recently last year, Kansas City played
San Francisco, a rematch of Shanahan versus Reid and Andy
Reid one. So you can throw in all the numbers,
But when I look at this game, I look at
it as an opposite approach with a way I looked
at it with Kansas City versus Buffalo, where I said,

(22:47):
whoever wins the coin toss and is able to defer
will win the game. That actually held up. Kansas City
got the ball in the second half. If you remember
Josh Allen through that dart to Hollis in the end
zone made it twenty one sixteen, and everybody in Kansasy
he goes okay, their heart beats still alive in this game.
I think it's the opposite. I think if Kansas City
can get the ball first, go down and score, they

(23:07):
put a little bit of pressure on the Eagles offense.
Their offensive line is a little banged up. Obviously they
have a week to get better, but a lot of
dnps on their injury report today. Again, I know we
have a week, but if you get the Philadelphia Eagles
behind and you get the ball first, you got to
think that Sirianni or whoever calls plays is going to
go away from the running game because they have to.

(23:28):
And you have to understand that Patrick Mahomes on the
other side, we know that field goals don't beat Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
You can't run the ball. If you're behind, you.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
Put the ball in Jalen Hurt's favorites or Kansas City.

Speaker 7 (23:37):
I get it.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
It's one and a half, but I really like the
Chiefs in this matchup. But again there is an if
so facto and that is number twenty six.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
It's take one.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Barkley, so Dusty. We used to love doing the coach
quarterback thing around here. Brady Belichick for everybody did first,
any of you, Quinn, Ryan or whatever. But I will
give you the counterpoint though, Brady Belichick. First Peterson Foles
did not work out in our favor, and we were
pumping up train the entire week going into that game.
But what I do want to ask you is the

(24:05):
Chiefs are twelve and zero in one score games this season.
Is there any sense of the feeling that just like
one of these eventually isn't going to go our way?

Speaker 6 (24:16):
You know that's the thing, right, we did that last week,
like Bill's Chiefs in the playoffs. Eventually the Bills have
to win this year? What was the narrative nationwide with
the Chiefs. They're winning, but it's not impressing me. They're winning,
but they're beating teams by by three, like Carolina, they're
winning by a block field goal. It's kind of almost
like it's foreshadowing to where it's like you have so

(24:39):
many reps and so much time knowing how to beat
teams with with less on the clock or in close games.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
So yeah, twelve we ohs. Fantastic number.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
But again the counteract that you think about it, like
the team that has more experience winning those close games
you would think would have the advantage. You would then
double down and say that you'd have more an advantage
of in tight scenario games. They've already played two of those,
Houston and Buffalo.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
Last week.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Philadelphia got Jaden Daniels, who's a rookie, who's a stud,
who's probably the fifth best quarterback in the NFL, and
at least in my opinion, from the year he's had
and the promise he shows. But I would say that
like Philadelphia hasn't really played a team quite like Kansas City.
I know these two teams are completely different from two
years ago, but the fact that Kansas City has all

(25:30):
those close games on their resume, and not only that,
but two of them very close back to back in
the playoffs, I think the advantage would swing towards a
team that has a the experience in the playoffs. Be
the guy that plays quarterback that just seems everything seems
to slow down when the lights get brighter, and yeah,
I mean, twelve and zero is a good number. But
I mean, hey, Taylor Swist's favorite numbers thirteen, so why

(25:52):
not make it thirteen in a row?

Speaker 3 (25:55):
He can't help himself.

Speaker 5 (25:57):
Look, I swear I'm not a fan. I swear I'm
not a fan.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
You you are a closeted fan, I think is what
we'll call it. The Yeah, that's right, the game two
years ago. You know, obviously there's there's been some change,
but at sort of at the most, at the core,
with the most important guys largely the same. You know,
Patrick Mahomes versus Jalen Hurts, Travis Kelcey, obviously, DeVonta Smith,

(26:21):
AJ Brown, you know, Dallas Goddard, I mean, obviously Sakwon
Barkley is a notable exception, a very notable one. But
you know, you could look back at what we saw
from that game, which again Cruz passed the over narrow
win by the Chiefs. Mahomes passed for three scores, even
on an injured ankle, ran for almost fifty yards. Pacheco
was more of a factor than I anticipate he'll be

(26:42):
in this game, largely because I think he's been kind
of usurped by Kareem Hunt, but Kelsey went six for
eighty one scored Juju Smith. Schuster, who was there, came
to New England. Now he's back there again. He had
seven catches in that game. Hurts passed for three hundred
plus ran for seventy accounted for four touchdowns by himself, Goddard,

(27:03):
you know who people have been just drooling over on
our show this week, six for sixty, knowing how bad
the Chiefs are against the tight end position. Brown went
for almost one hundred. Smith did go for one hundred.
Is there anything from that game that we can take
into this one in terms of how to bet it?

Speaker 5 (27:21):
Yeah? I mean.

Speaker 6 (27:23):
I would say that one of those receivers will do it.
I would assume that McDuffie will probably have more focus
on AJ Brown. The other scary part two about those
numbers is that AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith are two
years more experienced. Both studs a wide receiver than the
Titan narrative is true, although that didn't really work for
Dawntin Knox and Dalton kon k Dalton Kate actually could
have had more yards when he dropped the ball, but hey,

(27:45):
you know, the rest had nothing to do with that, again,
I'm not worried about that, but I think the sake one,
the sake one factor is the biggest one because that takes.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
Pressure off Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 6 (27:57):
And I think the other big one is the fact
that aj Brown about to Smith or more experienced. I mean,
those guys are gonna be better, They're gonna have you know,
they're gonna be out there. They're they're superstars for a reason.
I mean, I think the combined for these two teams
is what twenty nine and five. We shouldn't be surprised.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
If these are the two teams in the Tuper Bowl.

Speaker 6 (28:14):
But I think if you the big question for me,
though that's still unanswered, is what's the true health of
their offensive line? Because the offensive line that's injured is
their center and their guard. And the two guys that
are gonna be disruptive in this game that can be
a massive impact are Charles a.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Minihew and Chris jos.

Speaker 6 (28:31):
Who play right over those two positions. Now, again, it's
the playoffs, everybody's injured, but this is kind of massive
for Philadelphia.

Speaker 5 (28:38):
So if that is the case, that's gonna make things
tougher for Saquon Barkley. That's gonna make things tougher for
Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 6 (28:43):
But I'm like you, guys, like I see their weapons
across the field, I'm not shying away from that. I
understand that they're there.

Speaker 5 (28:50):
I'm like you. I love the over I think this
game is electric. I think it's one of those you know,
what do you want to call it?

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Thirty eight thirty one finishes maybe, but it's you know,
to take in from two years ago to this year,
everybody's more experienced. The Chief Corps is still there, but
whereas the Chief Corps has gotten older, the Philadelphia Corp
has gotten riper, and they've added an even more bigger
of a spring flower in Saquad Barkley. So it should

(29:17):
be a competitive game. I like their weapons, but I
trust this defense, and I trust Bagnola, and I just
the way he disguises things and can make things interesting.
And again, the big question mark is how healthy that
offensive line is for Philadelphia.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
What was really interesting about the AFC Championship game to me, Dusty,
is that Travis Kelcey was basically non existent in that game,
at least in the passing game. I mean, it looked
like he was blocking, you know, a little more than
he normally does, but just two catches on four targets
for nineteen yards. Now he goes against this Eagles defense,
who with Nakobe Dean out, this guy, Orrin Burks is

(29:50):
probably going to be covering Travis Kelcey, And that did
not work out for San Francisco last year. In the
future in the Super Bowl as he stepped in for
Drake Greenlaw at half time when Greenlaw went down, and
Burke's allowed six catches on six targets to Kelsey for
fifty yards and a touchdown as well. So I'm expecting
to see a lot more Travis Kelcey than we saw

(30:11):
in the AFC Championship.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
Game, would be.

Speaker 6 (30:15):
I mean, the topic around here, at least for us is,
you know, we're talking about life after Travis kelce Is
this it? Do they win the three pt Does he
propose a halftime and is he right up into the sunset?
There's one year left on his contract. Does he come
back for one more year and do the Swan song deal?
You know how a lot of guys do that? Or
is that kind of his bag these days? I don't
know for sure. The other thing, that kind of goes unnoticed,

(30:37):
and maybe this is and if I am being biased,
you can call me out or you know, play a
sounder of a hammer being a homer. But like Travis
Kelce was almost more effective without getting the ball. I mean,
Juju Smith Schuster two catches on sixty yards. He's running
a parallel route that Travis Kelce runs. But the Buffalo
Bills decided to brace Travis kelcey leaving Juju Smith Schuster

(30:58):
wide open and eating you alive. You look, first Trive,
the Chiefs had it was Hollywood Brown, Hollywood Brown, Hollywood Brown.
And then we never hurt of Hollywood Brown again because
then they focused on him and Kelsey, and then we
went to Juju Smith Schuster and then xavier're Worthy, who's
been exceptional as a rookie. Who Andy Reid compared to
DeShawn Jackson. I don't know if we're there. I don't
know if we're there quite yet. I think that's the
cool like comparison. But again, player CompCert are wild these days.

(31:22):
But yeah, I mean, you got to think that.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
This is it for Travis.

Speaker 7 (31:26):
This is the super Bowl, this is his big game.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
You gotta think he shows up.

Speaker 6 (31:30):
I know what was it two for nineteen and you
just mentioned in the last game, But he does more
without getting the ball.

Speaker 5 (31:35):
He draws attention.

Speaker 6 (31:37):
To use a basketball analogy, if you have your stud
in the middle, you can get people to draw inside,
ticket outside, use your role players to kind of beat
you until they say, okay, enough of this, then we can.

Speaker 5 (31:46):
Go to our stud. Now.

Speaker 6 (31:48):
Obviously, last of the injury kind of opened that up
for Travis Kelcey and it's like a you know, a
dog looking at a child from mahomes. This guy can't
cover him. I'm just gonna attack them no matter what.
But again, he can be effective without actually catching the ball.
Again as take if you want. But I mean, who
had Juju Smith Schuster going for sixty yards last week?
Who had Hollywood Brown be the number one target in
the first drive and then xavier' worthy taking over. It's

(32:10):
kind of weird to say, but like you kind of
use Travis kelce without using Travis Kelcey at times.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Dusty lichens again ninety six to five the fan Casey
Radio Dusty, we always enjoying hop on. Obviously, I'm just
assuming you will be in New Orleans, so enjoy Radio
Row the whole atmosphere, and you know, don't don't take
advantage of or don't you know what's what's the right
way to put it. Don't don't make light of the moment,

(32:37):
all of this because it it as as much as
you know the Patriots added for twenty years. In retrospect,
it feels fleeting worth aar right now, so it enjoy
every second of it.

Speaker 5 (32:50):
There.

Speaker 6 (32:51):
Yeah, man, we're we fly out Sunday, we stay till
the following Monday, so hopefully it's a three people. But hey,
like one thing we always say in our show is
is don't take this for granted. And you know, we
know where we were from twenty twelve to twenty fifteen
until Andy Reid came in.

Speaker 5 (33:05):
You guys were the ones that paved the way. And
I will say this before I get off.

Speaker 6 (33:09):
I know a lot of people will say that the
three p will surpass Brady if Mahomes wins. I don't
believe that Tom Brady was a three time Hall of
Famer in three different decades of his career. However many
years he played fifty years, He's still got a long
way to go. A three Pietz nice, it closes the gap,
but again, Tom Brady will still remain supreme, at least
in Dusty Likens mind. Who does Kansas City Sports Radio

(33:29):
grew up a Chiefs fan until Mahomes gets to the
age of thirty six thirty seven, we can then have
that conversation, but he's still miles and miles of yards behind.
Who is the greatest of all eye? Which is Tom Brady?
And shout out Julian Edlman and what a stud.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Agree with all of it, Dusty Michens again, Casey Radio,
Thank you, Bud. We'll talk again soon. We're going to
step aside and we come back. We will have John
mcmallanon with us from Sports Illustrated, get the Eagles perspective.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Locks Leans and everything in between.

Speaker 5 (33:58):
It says here we should work in team.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
It wants to be my spator.

Speaker 8 (34:02):
I don't think you should be doing too much gambling tonight.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Alan gambling does anything about gambling.

Speaker 5 (34:08):
It's not gambling when you know you're gonna win.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
Now back to Boston's only nightly betting show.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
The Gambler with Adam Kaufman.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Listen on the iHeartRadio app or your smart speaker.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
Our thanks once again, Dusty Lichens ninety six five of
the fan in Kansas City. I'd say there's a confidence there, definitely,
not an arrogance, but a confidence business like. Yeah, you
might say, well, he's going on a business trip out
there to Radio Row in New Orleans. Maybe John McMullen

(34:45):
will be there as well covering the Birds. He is
at a variety of outlets, including Sports Illustrated on Twitter
at j F McMullen. John, Welcome to the show. How
are you.

Speaker 7 (34:56):
I'm doing well, Thanks for having me.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
Absolutely well. Tell us is you know our previous guest
and no shock Kansas City Fan, Kansas City Radio, all
of that. But there's a confidence that we're going to
see a three peet out of the Chiefs. So what's
the level of confidence in Philadelphia surrounding the Eagles.

Speaker 7 (35:19):
Well, I think the fan base is confident, especially coming
off the NFC Championship game. Uh, you know, do you
think about that performance and some of the angst with
the Eagles passing game this season evaporated? Uh? You know,
I think people get a little bit too high on

(35:40):
it up week a little bit too low. That's the
nature of the NFL. But I think everybody looks at
this Eagles team and says, you know, this is this
is a pretty talented group and if they play well,
if they bring their A game, they're probably going to
beat anybody. But they have been brought to their A

(36:00):
game every week and sometimes it's been a struggle and
it's built a little bit differently than was expected, leaning
on Saquon Barkley in the offensive line. So but you know,
when you win, and they kind of shifted. They had
a very early by week week five, and that's when
they shipped it away from a lot of passing where

(36:24):
they were turning it over too much, to very very
run centric, almost risk averse offensively, and Jalen Herts has
throwing one interception. From that, they're plus ten in the postseason,
haven't turned it over, and if they don't turn it over,
it's going to be very, very difficult to beat the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
So, John, you mentioned that offensive line. There are some
injury concerns there though, with Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens.
What's the latest with those guys as still about ten
days but still about ten days to go until kick off.

Speaker 7 (36:57):
Yeah, they practiced today the Eagles. If those guys are out,
they're obviously going to try to manage them to the game.
Can't talked after the NFC Championship game, said he's going
to play land and is certainly going to try to play.
The question is how healthy are they so, and that's
unlikely they're going to be one hundred percent, but if

(37:19):
they're somewhere close to their normal range of effectiveness, you know,
this is one of the best offensive lines I've ever seen.
And offensive line has been a strength in Philadelphia for
a long time since Chef Stalin got here, and this
might be the best group they've ever had. It really is.

(37:42):
I was talking to a former GM the other day,
Texan with them, he said, and he was the first
one who said it to me and brought up He said,
it's one of the best offensive lines of all time.
And I started thinking about it, and it might be.

Speaker 5 (37:54):
That's how good they've been.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Going back to the bye week, which was in early
by weeks, Philadelphia has won all but one game, and
that loss was just by three points to the Commanders,
obviously in late December. So look, the Eagles have been
just terrorizing opponents. Some of these are close games, one
score games, and lord knows, like Dan Gavis a stat

(38:17):
earlier Chiefs twelve to zero in one score games this year.
The Eagles fully capable of winning close games as well,
but they are just getting better and better as the
playoffs have gone on. You know, sort of made relatively
light work of the Packers. You know, won a close
one very much. You know, could have lost that game
against the Rams, and then Blue Doors humiliated the Commanders.

(38:38):
To me, and in a way, I'm kind of stating
the obvious, but I don't feel it can be understated here.
You match up these two teams from what we saw
two years ago, and a lot of the key players
are there, but there's one overwhelming difference, and it's Saquon Barkley.
If Saquon goes for one hundred and fifty yards and

(38:59):
you know, not even just rushing, maybe call it one
hundred and fifty total yards, scores one or two touchdowns,
I don't see how the Chiefs win this game. So
putting it very simply, is Saquan the X factor to
you in this contest? And how could the Chiefs even
attempt to slow them down?

Speaker 7 (39:18):
Well, you have to be very disciplined, number one, because
if you don't keep your running gaps, he's.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
Going to cut it back, and what.

Speaker 7 (39:27):
Sets Saquon apart from Eagles have had a very good
running game since Nick Sirianni has been here, but what
sets them apart this year is his home run ability.
So if you look at the opening offensive play against
against Washington, it's a perfect example. Was just tremendously blocked
to the point he went untouched for about twenty twenty

(39:50):
five yards down the field. Now, typically if that were
Miles Sanders in years past or DeAndre Swift, it's a
twenty twenty five yard game, and now it's a sixty
yard touchdown. That's the difference of Saquon Barkley, ultimate home
run hitter. And you know, Saquon was talking today and

(40:11):
to his credit, he's very grounded for the season. He's
thirty yards away from breaking Urell Davis's all time record
for regular postseason most rushing yards, so he's definitely going.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
To do that.

Speaker 7 (40:24):
It's one of the great seasons in NFL history for
a running back. But he you know, he's very grounded.
He points out, if it wasn't for the offensive line,
if it wasn't for everybody else, any running back of
five guys are in the backfield, he said, I'm not superman.
I can't make five people miss. So it's more than
just Saquon, but his ability to hit that home run.

(40:49):
And you know, I like the NBA comparison as well.
He's going to get his points. He's going to be
twenty five to thirty point score. You don't want him
to hit fifty and you want to make them work
for it. So if he gets to one seventy five
to two hundred, you're done. If you hold him to
one twenty five and you make them work for it,

(41:11):
then you have a chance.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
So the stat I keep seeing this week, guys, over
and over and over again is that Patrick Mahomes is
nine to zero against Vic Fangio. I feel like that
stat's a little misleading, John, because this Eagles team, this
defense that he has this year much more talented than
any of those Denver teams or those Miami teams that
he's had the past few seasons. Have you dug in
on that a little bit? Just curious your thoughts.

Speaker 7 (41:35):
There, Yeah, Vic, I mean you're right about the well,
first of all, wins and loss are not a great
quarterback stet, but number you know, certainly it was a
mismatch most of the time. You know, when Vic was
the head coach in Denver, obviously tremendous Kansas City team,
so that eats up most of those games. But if

(41:57):
you look at them individually, Big has held Patrick Mahomes
to some of his lesser passer ragnings, still finds a
way to win the game, and that's been you know,
Patrick's history. But yeah, I know, if I'm the Eagles,
I'm not looking at that number in panicking because this
is a very different defense. Number one defense in the NFL.

(42:21):
One of the great turnarounds. By the way, if you
talk about the Eagles in their season, everybody and understandably
because people like splash and sizzle and they talked about
the offense and the playmakers in the two thousand yard rusher,
but they were arguably the worst defense in the NFL
at the end of the twenty twenty three season, and

(42:42):
Vic Fangio comes in and they're number one, And you know,
those are old school NFL stats, but even the advanced
that's very good defense, a very good defense, and the
fact that he was able to turn it around and
you see the improvement of young players like Jalen Carter

(43:03):
and Nikobe Dean before he got injured. Dack Baond comes
in and they signed Zack Bond to be a backup
edge rusher and a special teams player. And Vic gets
a look at him and says, I think he can
play off ball linebacker. And he's a finalist for Defensive
Player of the Years. It's probably been the most amazing

(43:26):
story about this team, even though it maybe doesn't grab
the whole nationally that to turnaround on defense.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
So how do you expect this game to play out?

Speaker 7 (43:39):
I do think the Eagles are the more talented team
from one through fifty three, you know, But the Chiefs
have the cheek code. I mean, if it's close and
Patrick Mahomes has got the football, I like Kansas City Cancers.
I mean that's the nature of what it is. But
you have the great coach quarterback combination against the team

(44:03):
that has a better roster and similar if you think
about two years ago, Chief swun thirty eight thirty five.
I think it's going to be a close game, probably
not quite as high scoring as that. But if it's
a close game, it's hard to bet against the Chiefs.
I gotta be honest.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
We say that a lot around here, don't we Dan,
Oh yeah, it's hard to put your hard earned money
against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City. Well. John McMullan again
Sports Illustrated among other outlets on Twitter at j F mcmallon.
Not sure if you'll be heading down to New Orleans,
but if you are safe trip, enjoy it, Enjoy the game,
and it'll be a lot of fun to watch for sure.

(44:44):
It's not the matchup that we around here we're rooting
for for the sake of new Blood. Would have been
nice to see Buffalo and Washington. But you know, I'm
sure the NFL is going to get its viewers.

Speaker 7 (44:55):
Well, yeah, I will be there, and you know it's
like my I don't know, well super Bowl. I would
have liked the time off to be ho. We got
to keep going.

Speaker 3 (45:06):
Yeah, you see, you don't get the ring, you know,
the same motivations as these guys, exactly, John, Thank you
so much. All right, thanks, check, all right, we will
step aside, come on back. Check out how our evening
show plays are doing. Chasing multiple people's parlays and much
more for you and again NBA coming up top of
the next hour. Bank Roll repairs between now and then

(45:26):
as well.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Certain did someone jerk the people's parlay.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
If someone has to be the jerk, I hope it's
you or the guests. I don't want to be the jerk.
I don't want anyone.

Speaker 4 (45:36):
I pray it's you.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
I would like us all to hit all of our
plays every single night. But if someone's got to be
the jerk, I don't want to be the jerk. I
don't want to be the one that ruins it.

Speaker 4 (45:44):
No one likes being that guy.

Speaker 1 (45:46):
Go with your gut and lock into Boston's only nightly
sports gambling show.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
Message to our listeners the second Adam asks a guest
about their opinion on his leg of the parlay.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
Take the opposite nig Gambler with Adam Kamp and returns
now on.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
WRKO and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
We're gonna give you bankroll repairs for tomorrow or the weekend,
however it shakes out, probably tomorrow, being honest, close out
January hopefully on a high note. We'll do that next segment,
but just to check in on show plays. Right now,
it's a bloodbath at the moment, but there's a lot
of time. Things are live, but there's a lot of

(46:28):
red right now we need some swings. We definitely do.

Speaker 5 (46:32):
So.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
The only show play that has been decided is Dan's
bankroll repair, which unfortunately didn't get home, looking like it's
going to be hooked by Morehead State. Everything else here
perdue fort Worth is the Donaldson experiment play took it
on the chin yesterday after three straight ws and looking

(46:52):
like he may be sitting at two in a row
because we need PFW to cover five points and right
now trailing by seven with about nine minutes to go
in that one. Now Dan has CSB minus two and
a half right now, what a three point deficit. But

(47:12):
very early on in the second half.

Speaker 4 (47:13):
Yeah, they were down like seven or eight a half time.
They're on a little run here to start the second half.
So hopefully they keep it going and take control of
this game, this one. And we actually only need him
on the money line in the parlay, by the way.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
True, also true this if we even get to the parlay,
this one hurts. Aton Schander gave us Memphis minus one
seventy on the money line now again full half to go,
but down by ten at the break against Houston. Now,
in fairness, it's not just Memphis. Both sides are missing
a key player. John Morant was ruled out for the Grizzlies.

(47:47):
That happened today, and then shortly before the game, Shane
Gun was ruled out for Houston. So that's two, you know,
it's that's that's kind of a that's even right.

Speaker 4 (47:57):
Get selected to the All Star Game. Tap out for
the night, pretty much, gotta go celebrate.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
We need to run out of the grizz in the
second half to bring that one home because again that
is a one point seven unit investment for us, that
particular parlay plus three eighty eight. Obviously it's in dire
straits at the moment. Washington State, who I have minus
eleven late in the first half, up by one, so
need a strong second half right there. The other parlay, however,

(48:28):
we have cow Baptist minus seven and a half. I
think actually was minus six and a half. That's what
I meant to type in.

Speaker 4 (48:35):
We got it. So the straight is six and a half.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
Straight was six and a half.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
The parlay leg is seven, all.

Speaker 3 (48:40):
Right, so I do need to change that. The straight
was six and a half on ESPN, which is where
we advertised it, and they are currently up by ten.
Hopefully that you know, six versus seven, seven versus eight whatever.
Hopefully that won't matter anyway. But they're up by ten
late in the first half. Franz Wagner six quick points.

(49:00):
But that's still where he is. We need him at
twenty four. He is early in the second and Hawaii,
of course, that is later. That's, you know, an hour
and change from now. It's it's basically tomorrow. As we said,
where is Fogner. I just want to see what is
He's played ten minutes, shot volumes three for six, so

(49:20):
just need him to get hot. The good thing is
we know as long as he's out there, he's going
to keep shooting, so hopefully and it's a close game too,
so hopefully it won't be a minute's limit or anything
like that. We'll pay attention, we'll track it as the
show goes on again. Bankroll repairs next segment. I know
you had some thoughts on Travis Kelce and what his
impact in this Super Bowl is going to be with
his future fiance alongside.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
Yeah, that's right. Don't forget Taylor's there too. She was
there at the AFC Championship game though, and he didn't
really have that good of a game on the stat
sheet as we were talking about just two catches. But
right since Nikobe Dean got hurt for the Eagles, Philly
has been getting carved up by tight ends the past
few weeks. They were one of the best teams in
football in the regular season covering the tight ends. But

(50:02):
I think Dean was a big part of that. Now
and you look here at the past two games, Tyler
Higbee seven catches fifty four yards and touchdown, Zach Ertz
eleven catches one hundred and four yards in a touchdown.
And now this guy, Orrin Burke's who I was talking about,
stepped in for Drake Greenlaw. Remember when Drake Greenlaw like
his calf popped or the torn achilles whatever last year

(50:22):
in the Super Bowl. So Kelsey, he held Kelsey and
check in the first half. Second half, Kelsey goes off
for ninety two yards and when Burkes was on him,
Mahomes just picked on him six for six fifty yards
and a touchdown. I think Kelsey's going to be a
decent look next week. I don't know if we want
to jump on that early, but we got like a
sixteen and a half still sitting on FanDuel right now.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
So we've found that middle ground from where he was
in the first playoff game, Divisional Round one.

Speaker 4 (50:50):
Yeah, he was sixty eight or whatever he was right
against Buffalow.

Speaker 3 (50:53):
Sixty and a half, he said, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
Which I think is a decent number. And then six
and a half catches I believe too. At plus money
to the.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
Over, I'd be more interested in the yards than the catches.

Speaker 4 (51:02):
Yeah, seven is a lot. But when you look at
how the Chiefs receiving has just been split up this postseason,
it's like Kelsey has eleven catches and Worthy as nine
or vice versa. Yeah, Worthy as eleven, Kelsey is nine,
and then nobody else I don't think has more than two, right,
So it's those two guys. Kelsey had a good super
Bowl against the Eagles last time. He's had like three
straight good super bowls anyway, So I do think Kelsey

(51:25):
is a solid Look. I mean not that's you know,
groundbreaking analysis or anything like that, but.

Speaker 3 (51:29):
No, but I mean he he has like it's it's not.

Speaker 4 (51:32):
The data is there more than just like, oh, I
gotta bet Travis Kelcey because its Taylor Swist's boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
Right, and it's it's you know, Travis Kelcey in a
big game, Travis Kelcey in the playoffs. Like we say,
we always say throughout the regular season, like he's going
to show up. They're going to you know, take off
the bubble wrap in the postseason. But like you said,
two for four for nineteen and what was a three
point game last week? I absolutely thought he was going
to be more involved in the second half when Mahomes
quote unquote needed him and he was not too. Yeah,

(51:59):
he wasn't the first look, So in last week he's
not there in age like that. I mean, we just
had Dusty on Bleg. Is he going to retire? I
mean I don't think so. I don't. I don't think
he's he's done now.

Speaker 4 (52:11):
He's got some big time like statistical milestones that are
well within reach. Next year he can get like top
ten all time and.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
Right, yeah, he's I mean, he's not going anywhere. But
it's not the he's not the shoe win investment that
he once was because again he's old football old anyway.

Speaker 4 (52:28):
But he can still get open.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
He can all right, Yeah, we should think about that one,
and you know we can we can readdress it a
little later in the show. Whether we want to lock
it in as a show official play, We'll step aside.
Come on back with bank row repairs for Friday.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Now back to the Gambler with Adam Kaufman on six
eighty w RKO, streaming live on the iHeartRadio app, or
tell your smart speaker to play w RKO on iHeartRadio.
It's time for you your bank roll repair powered by
today's collision.

Speaker 3 (53:09):
Before we start with these bank or repairs, Dan, I'm
gonna ask you. We've allowed Rob Donaldson to invest in
Massachusetts related plays for the sake of what he's doing.
Can we do so we never have?

Speaker 4 (53:23):
No, Yeah, we can. We talked about this. We're still
responsible for the unit. Okay, all right, I'm not gonna
call you tomorrow and make sure. Hey'd you drive to
Rhode Island today? Are you in New Hampshire?

Speaker 2 (53:37):
No?

Speaker 3 (53:37):
I just I think it's it's good that our listeners
know that we're not just like giving out plays and
not doing it like with you know, we were riding
with them, they're riding with us, you know, so that
in and of it, it feels a little disingenuous. If
I'm making a play that I can't make unless I
leave the state.

Speaker 4 (53:55):
Right, Yeah, you might have to go get gas in
New Hampshire or something tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (53:59):
I mean, I'm only I'm not far right.

Speaker 4 (54:02):
It's very middle of the day on the workday. You
can get up there and back pretty quick.

Speaker 3 (54:05):
Very doable.

Speaker 5 (54:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (54:07):
Just figured i'd ask what do you have for your
bankroll repair?

Speaker 4 (54:11):
Two legs college basketball. Yeah, it was tough because there
are a lot of Massachusett schools in action tomorrow night
that I like wanted to throw in. Would have been
nice in a BR, but I settled into New York schools.
Let's go with Marist and Niagara, both on the money
line plus one nineteen on MGM.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
Okay, I don't love this, so just good start. Well,
I just want to, you know, be like, there are
some plays that I love, there's some that I don't
when putting together a bank roll Repair or any other
play for the show. So it's important that people know
I don't love this particular BR. But it is plus

(54:47):
one to eight on both FanDuel and DraftKings, two in
the NBA, two in college all money line favorites. Part
of the reason I don't love what I have here
in the NBA is just backing heavy road favorites is
a little nervy and be a little nerve racking. Nevertheless,
I think the Nuggets aren't a great spot in Philadelphia,

(55:09):
And though it scares me to say it, I think
the Celtics hurt a solid spot at New Orleans. Pelicans
are banged up. Celtics expect to have everyone injury reports out,
They expect to have everybody available. Can they actually string
together wins? We'll see. So that's Nuggets Celtics, Quinnipeac. So

(55:33):
we'll go to Connecticut for that one. There you go,
Quinnipiac at home against Fairfield, that all Connecticut matchup. And
then here's the other A excuse me, Merrormack. We're gonna
take Merrormack at home? Agounst. I think it's Mount Saint Mary's.
They're playing sets. Nuggets Celtics, Quinnipeac, Merrrimack plus one to

(55:56):
eight both FanDuel and DraftKings. That is what I I'm giving
you a couple of road favorites in the NBA, couple
of home favorites in the world of college hoops. We'll
be back with Matt Moore.

Speaker 1 (56:09):

out every single day at least after shows Monday through Thursday,
available to you expanded here in twenty twenty five to

(57:18):
three hours a night, nine to midnight Eastern, where we
are breaking down everything, truly everything. I mean, there is
not a stone that we don't turn over looking for
opportunities to make some money, that's for sure. Plenty of
Super Bowl previews, not only this week but next week,
podcast form available to you because that information it doesn't

(57:41):
go stale. Some of the nightly stuff we don't podcast
all of it because again, you don't care about a
preview of a game that happens later tonight that's already finished.
But we are going to look ahead to tomorrow's slate.
In the NBA, we got a lot of teams in action.
We're just telling you about some of them during the
bankroll repairs in the previous segment with the Celtics, for instance,

(58:04):
who have just been so up and down, so incredibly
inconsistent and unpredictable, and you know, even when heavy favorites
sometimes just lose outright. But then again, you do have
those games like we saw against the Bulls where I
foolishly took Chicago plus fourteen and a half, thinking maybe,

(58:27):
just maybe Jason tatumill sit. He didn't. He played. No,
Zach Lavine, we knew that one. I think you had
a kid. I think that's the personal time that he's
getting right here, missing a few games. Congrats to him
if that's the case, he and his wife obviously, but
the Celtics Blue Doors at home to cap a brief
little homestand there split with Houston. Chicago should have won

(58:49):
that first one against Emoo Dooka and his Rockets, but
twenty two point win against the Bulls, and the pattern
generally continues Dan going all the way back to January third,
outside of one little two game win streak out West
Golden State and the Clippers when they survived the JV

(59:10):
clips as I keep calling them, that night when nobody
played like you couldn't have named half their players. I
don't care how big an NBA fan you are, But
other than that little two game win streak, it's been
every other, every other, every other win loss all the
way back to January Third's that's alternating wins and losses
for one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, four,

(59:36):
fourteen or fifteen games here other than obviously that little
win streak about ten days ago. Can they make it
two in a row at New Orleans tomorrow to cap January?

Speaker 4 (59:46):
So winning two in a row would be nice. How
about covering two in a row? So I am on
covers dot com right now, Okay, I'm looking at the
Celtics game log from this season. They have not covered
back to back games since the very first two games
of the season.

Speaker 7 (01:00:02):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (01:00:02):
Yeah, so you go, it's like there's a lot of
the selling's have been horrible against the spread this year,
so obviously there's a lot of losses in there. Sure,
But you got the closest thing was New Year's Eve
against Toronto, they won, they covered. That was that they
beat Toronto by over fifty points that night. The next
night they pushed a three point spread against Minnesota, and
then they covered the following night. So that's close there.

(01:00:24):
But they have not covered in back to back games
since the very first two nights of the season. And
obviously they had the big win last night against the Bulls.

Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
The only guys on the injury report for this game
Al Horford left big toast brain he's probable, Sam Hauser
the hip and pigment he's questionable. So again, you're I
don't know if we're gonna call it their eight most
important players. Six aren't even on there. And your top

(01:00:54):
where do you put Horford? That's really the question. Your
your top five at the very least are available, maybe
six with Horford getting up there, in age obviously. I
know we'd like to call him ageless, Allen whatever else,
But this is not a game. Knowing the Pelicans are

(01:01:14):
as short as they are, dealing with injuries as they are,
you know, I'll pull up.

Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
Who's Ingram's been out for a week now, He's not
right back for a little bit. De Jontay Murray's a
game time decision.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
Zion should be out there, I.

Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
Would assume, so he's not on the injury report.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Right even still, and this one's a little little narrative
street for you and I don't I'll double check. I
don't think we have any props up for this game.
Let me just see real fast. Sometimes yeah, nothing, I'm
not seeing anything right now. Brdue fort Wayne just lost

(01:01:52):
by the way, So sorry Donaldson. This one's a little
narrative street. But Jason Tatum, as we know, he had
been named an All Star starter. That had already happened.
All Star reserves came out today, Jalen Brown is an
All Star once again. Immediately there's a little like I'm
even getting this from Celtics fans over text messages, you know,

(01:02:14):
friends of mine. Should Brown really be an All Stars?
He really deserved it. Should he have made it over?
LaMelo Ball? Should he have made it over? Trey Young?
Should he have made it over?

Speaker 5 (01:02:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
There are a few guys that that you could consider,
you know, maybe just maybe. I know we're in this
era of positionless basketball obviously, but you know, should should
he have been there? As opposed to Jared Allen, Tyrese Maxi,
some of these guys that were that were snubbed. Sometimes

(01:02:50):
Brown reacts to people questioning him. This could be a
this could be a Jalen Knight, could be a first
quarter Jalen Knight. Those pop up from time to time
on the road. Sure, we'll have to see what the
number looks like. But fined to guess twenty two and
a half as well?

Speaker 4 (01:03:08):
I was twenty one, twenty two, Yeah, right in there.
I mean, he's just he's extremely flaky lately too.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
Yeah, well that's and that's what I mean. I don't
think he should be an All Star quite frankly, I
don't think he's listening. See what his career numbers are.
Against the Pelicans, he's averaging twenty points, but in terms
of he.

Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
Has back to back games with twenty eight points, so
he's actually had a good week.

Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Yes recent games against the Pelicans. There was the one
a few weeks ago he only dropped sixteen. He actually
really filled out the box score sixteen eight and seven
in thirty nine minutes before that seventeen. The other game
last year twenty two, did drop forty one in January

(01:03:56):
of twenty three, a couple of years ago. Seems like
a lot of his higher scoring games against the Pelicans
were kind of the middle of this sample size of
fourteen games that he has against them in his career,
which obviously dates back quite a ways to twenty sixteen
when he came into the league. But I feel good

(01:04:19):
about them in the bank roll repair. I do think
we're going to see consecutive wins now, whether they cover
consecutive games, as you brought up that I'm not so
sure about. There are some intriguing matchups though, that we
have in front of us in the NBA tomorrow, and
one play I'm thinking about anyway. Haven't made my official
call yet in terms of what I'm going to do

(01:04:41):
for my parlay pick when we put something together, hopefully
a little bit later on, but Milwaukee Bucks lay in
three at San Antonio could be a good night for
I just I subscribe, right or wrong. I subscribe to
the whole big players respond in big matchups with other

(01:05:03):
big players on the other side. I know this isn't
a quote unquote big matchup, meaning like the Spurs are great,
They're not hell. The Bucks aren't great necessarily. That's why
the spread is what it is. But the whole Wemby
versus Yannis, I think we're still at the point where
Yannis responds to that, where we get the I mean, one,

(01:05:25):
he's having an unreal year.

Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
Didn't he just have a big game against San Antonio.

Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
That I'd have to pull up? But I feel like
this could be one of those like thirty five point
fifteen rebound Yiannis games. Wemby isn't consistently taking games over
really in any way. I was going to say, like
scoring wise, but you know, the rebounds are usually there. Honestly,
some of the rebounding nights are a little inconsistent too.

(01:05:52):
But I think the whole dueling bigs. Lillard's been really
hot lately. He's been very, very good, so that does
take away a little bit for from Yannis, But I
think those guys are props to look at in this one.

Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
So those two have matched up twice in their career.
I'm just looking at Giannis's stats right now. Last season
forty four points, fourteen rebounds, seven assists at San Antonio.
This season, I think we were on him this Yeah,
this was back. This was earlier this month, January eighth,
twenty five points, sixteen rebounds, eight assists. I think we
had like a Jani's twenty five points or something that night. Okay,

(01:06:25):
we were on a light so in just thirty six.
What about Wemby on the other side of those Wemby
on the other side, I think has struggled.

Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
I bet they're modest.

Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
So last year he did have twenty seven points, okay,
nine rebounds, yeah, five blocks, Yeah, I mean those those
are it feels like they're always.

Speaker 3 (01:06:43):
Going to be there. I mean, he's he's got to
be what's the averaging He's got to be averaging what
like three blocks a game two and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
I don't have that in front of me. But this
season a month ago, in that match up at Milwaukee,
just ten points, ten rebounds.

Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
I was just gonna pull it up quick because I'm curious.
Now he is averaged four points, four blocks a game.
Three point nine. Not bad, It's very good. Yeah, I
mean he is consistently I mean he's good for at
least one block literally every game. But I would say
he's consistently two three, And then you have those outlier

(01:07:18):
games like, you know, eight blocks against he had fourteen
blocks in a back to back with Memphis earlier this month.

Speaker 4 (01:07:26):
Wow, it's just not.

Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
Franz is up to thirteen, by the way, good keep going.
Not halftime yet, it's half time, okay, Magic have four
guys in double digits already, well obviously Ben Carro.

Speaker 4 (01:07:43):
Yep Carter and Cole Anthony. Huh, and they're losing by
nine points.

Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
That feels about right. I mean it's it's until Franz
takes over. Hopefully he will at some point for us,
but until he does, they generally, I feel like early
in games, they generally spread it around. All right, let's
step aside. We'll come on back more NBA, some other
things on the docket as well a little bit later on, hopefully.

(01:08:14):
A People's Parlay has mentioned trying the effort getting hold
of Matt Moore, and we will have him if we
can get him.

Speaker 2 (01:08:24):
Not every bet can be a winner you gotta have
two things to win. You gotta have brains and you
gotta have bulls. Hey, you got too much of win
or not enough for the other. But as long as
you come out ahead, green is green. Profit with us.

Speaker 3 (01:08:38):

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Back with You Air on The Gambler with Adam Kaufman.

Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
So I mentioned that.

Speaker 3 (01:08:59):
Matt Moore Action Network was scheduled to come on with us,
there was a little bit of confusion. I'm texting with
him right now, and he actually did just say, ah,
you know, like my bad had had this in my
calendar wrong. I could pop on right you know, right now,
if you want me to. But we already during the

(01:09:21):
commercial break, made an executive decision, which was, when it
looks like we can't find the person that we have scheduled,
we go to the bullpen, you know, we call him.
Why is he alrighty a lefty? Honestly, I don't know.
I've never actually met him in person. I'm just gonna
say the righty because I'm a righty. So I'm gonna
and and I feel like there are more righties than

(01:09:42):
lefties in the world. I'm gonna be biased. We're gonna
call him the righty. We're going out to the West
Coast and we're bringing back Eric Linquist, Odd Chopper and Stochastic.
You know part of it too, Dan is we had
a Ton Shander on with us last night or what
was his twenty fourth appearance on this show, and I

(01:10:03):
just looked and Lindy before this one was sitting at
twenty three. Oh, and we can't. We can't let Aton
hold that twenty four all by himself.

Speaker 4 (01:10:13):
For twenty four hours.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
Nah ah, no way, Lindy. How are you pal well?

Speaker 8 (01:10:20):
I kind of sad. No, I mean, obviously, Aton Schander.
I don't mean to do that to him. I don't
want to do my colleague like that. But you know what,
I suppose, winning is winning, and it's good to be
on here last second with you boys.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
We always appreciate your flexibility. So it's a it's weird.
It's like we had a guest, we couldn't reach him,
so we schedule Lindy and then we bumped the original guest.
Basically is how that happened. But nevertheless, we're going to
get to a lot of NBA where I need to start.
Though we have not even brought this up on the
show yet, but you are very in a way connected

(01:10:54):
to it. Has your colleague Greg Ehrenberg been indicted yet
for his of the Terry Rosier betting scandal.

Speaker 5 (01:11:05):
So far? No, there are moments.

Speaker 8 (01:11:06):
You know, it depends on the day, because I spent
a lot of time with Greg Arenberg on the airways
during the course of a week, and you know, I
think you guys are probably familiar how this goes.

Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
You kind of get in.

Speaker 8 (01:11:17):
The middle of something that's as close to marriage as
humanly possible, and you get frustrated with each other from
time to time you want to lash out, and you know,
I want him to get roughed up a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:11:28):
I don't want him to go to jail. I just
want I just want something to happen there. But for
the people who.

Speaker 8 (01:11:32):
Don't know, I mean, this is just one of the
more insane stories that I can ever remember, because there's
a part of me that thinks that the NBA legitimately
look into trolling on Greg Ehrenberg because he was making
fun of people who thought that because the player got
injured that somehow, some way they were connected to gambling,

(01:11:53):
which is just so asinine. Do not be one of
those people that is yelling rigged at ending.

Speaker 5 (01:12:00):
Ever, it is truly the.

Speaker 8 (01:12:02):
Most absurd twelve hours of work I can remember.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
So for anyone that missed it, Terry Roseier is now
being investigated for, you know, kind of John Day portering
himself in a game as a member of the Charlotte Hornets.
He's of course with the Miami Heat right now a
couple of years ago, and what you need to know,
he's been on with us before, but it's been a
long time. But for people that are unfamiliar with Lindy's

(01:12:31):
close personal friend here, Greg Ehrenberg, who I used to
work with a little bit as well, you just you
need to know his personality, which is that of someone
who is exceedingly sarcastic and is just out there trolling
the general public on a daily basis. And he put

(01:12:52):
out a tweet. Now this was what the timing of
it is larious, Dan, if you don't know. So this
was March of twenty twenty three when all of this
was happening, and Arenberg played Terry Rozier under six and

(01:13:12):
a half assists, yes, and he tweeted out with his
bet slip. At least I was on it today. Got
lucky when I was fed some inside info that Rosier
was leaving in the first or second quarter, depending on
game flow and liveline, so that his unders would hit.

Speaker 8 (01:13:31):
And it's just magnum opis, Adam, it is truly, it is,
truly his magnum opis, and it will never.

Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
Be topped because it's exactly what happened.

Speaker 5 (01:13:43):
Yep, it truly is.

Speaker 8 (01:13:45):
And again he's done this with fifty sixty players. Because
you go to odd Shopper and you check out portfolio
ev ninety eight, ninety nine percent of the bets that
you're going to get on a daily basis or unders,
And I'm always combining knows, rotating those around in bet
slips because from a proper perspective, the public loves they're overs.

(01:14:05):
And when you're talking about one hundred, one hundred and
twenty one hundred and fifty props that you might be
getting down on a daily basis, somebody is going to
get hurt, somebody is going to fall, turn their ankle,
have something happen, and there's going to be an outcry
on Twitter, and if you just simply search that player's
name and that given point in time, the gambling public
has ran a muck.

Speaker 5 (01:14:27):
They're uncontrollable.

Speaker 8 (01:14:29):
They are absolutely monkeys in a cage that have been
hit up with radies shots. And I can't tell you enough.
Do not be one of those people. But Greg has
made a living off of trolling them, off of betting
unders on the other side of them when they.

Speaker 5 (01:14:43):
Inflate marcts, And well, you've done a really good job
of it.

Speaker 8 (01:14:46):
And today, yes, it was about as good as it gets.
So I can't tell you enough how amazing Greg is
at the trolling department of things, and how unbelievable it
is that this is an actual story.

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
So, Lindy, we have seven games in the NBA tomorrow.
There are some heavy favorites, including our Boston Celtics.

Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
Here.

Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
We were just talking about this game a little while
ago before you came on at New Orleans. Looks like
everyone's available for Boston, coming off of covering a big
number fourteen and a half at home against the Bulls.
Looking a string together consecutive wins, which has over the
last month been something that is very difficult to do
for Boston. You've been doing for anyone that has missed it,
not only the Lindy's Leans likes and locks videos on

(01:15:29):
the on Shopper YouTube page, extensive data filled deep dives
into each game to help people with how they want
to bet these games or attack DFS Daily Fantasy Sports,
whatever it may be. Is it crazy to think the
Celtics could cover a sizeable number again, looking at roughly

(01:15:49):
eleven right now, could move obviously, but eleven at this moment?
Or do you think the Celtics are right to potentially
get upset there by the Pelicans her mind, not cover
the number, but even lose.

Speaker 8 (01:16:03):
Now. I think on the road we're going to see
Boston play a lot of these spots straight up, and
they do have Daniel Tissey's the only piece gotten full.
Jordan Hawkins questionable on the injury report on the New
Orleans side. But look how healthy Boston just got. I mean,
Sam Hauser questionable, pluck. Boston's just been able to rotate
guys in and out, been able to get rest at
opportune times. I'm a little surprised Jason Tatum didn't end

(01:16:24):
up getting rested last time out. They played a little
possum with Chicago, But I think that's kind of what
Boston's going to continue to do all season long. Now
Zion Williamson's back for New Orleans, He's still going to
be one of those guys that's capped around thirty minutes.
I doubt New Orleans is going to be capable or
wanting to really be moving him at the deadline. But
with that impending and now less than a week as

(01:16:45):
of today, Zion Williamson is going to do a lot
on a basketball floor, But can he do enough here
to help them cover the number We've seen Dejohntay Murray
have one of the more difficult offensive seasons I can
remember from a quote unquote star player in the NBA.
Sub forty percent from the field for a point guard.
This is not the Dejonte Murray that we've seen here
of late.

Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
But overall, overall.

Speaker 8 (01:17:07):
This is a Boston team that when you're fully operational
and you have Porzingis, and you have Al Horford off
the bench and Peyton Pritchard doing his things, I do
think that if you're going to dip your toes into
the market where you think Boston just blows them out,
maybe combining it with Peyton Pritchard purely because you get
those extreme runouts. Even with a fully healthy Boston squad.

(01:17:27):
It's more difficult, for sure with White and Holiday playing
ahead of him. But I think there's like a single
game parlay version of back in Boston minus eleven where
I don't find it to be that prohibitive of a number.

Speaker 4 (01:17:40):
Lindy, the Nuggets have really struggled here on this road trip.
They've lost all three games, losing to the Timberwolves, the Bulls,
and the Knicks last night. Favored in two of those
three games and they lost out right. Now they're taking
on the seventy six ers here. They're an eight and
a half point favorite against the Philly team that I
had to double check this. They've won four in a row. Oh,
they've won four outright as dogs.

Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Thank you, Tyrese Maxie.

Speaker 4 (01:18:03):
Yeah, Tyrese max He's playing great obviously. Joelle Embiid, you know,
he plays like one game of year now, probably not
going to be tomorrow night. What do you make of
this matchup?

Speaker 8 (01:18:13):
I think this is a great opportunity to short Russell Westbrook.
So I'm kind of going back and forth on how
they're going to handle this going forward.

Speaker 5 (01:18:21):
But I don't think it could be said enough without
Nicole Yokic on the floor.

Speaker 8 (01:18:24):
This is one of the worst basketball teams that exists
in the NBA. They've always had thin benches, They've always
been able to play through Jokics, and you saw with
foutle trouble. Jamal Murray actually had a really good first
half to keep things in check. But I think the
charm of having Russell Westbrook start in that beginning unit
is starting to wear off a little bit. I was
surprised that instead of benching Russell Westbrook in the starting lineup,

(01:18:47):
they ended up going to bench Christian Brown.

Speaker 5 (01:18:50):
And what did Christian Brown do?

Speaker 8 (01:18:51):
He probably was the best player on the floor for
Denver over the course of that entire game, for beginning
to end.

Speaker 5 (01:18:56):
I think you've got to.

Speaker 8 (01:18:58):
Bring Christian Brown back out on the floor defensively as
opposed to a Russell Westbrook. And I know he's been
out there trying hard. He's been out there doing a
great job in terms of steals and trying to create opportunities.
He put up fourteen, fourteen and four in that last outing.
But I gotta think Christian Brown starts alongside Aaron Gordon here,
sooner rather than later they put Aaron Gordon back into

(01:19:20):
the starting unit. He's their best defensive player period on
the team. That's what he's paid to do. And I
think you want to be out of the curve a
little bit. So the thing I've circled kind of penned.
I haven't bet it yet, but Russell Westbrooks minus won
ten over at bet three six five. He's mightus won
twenty over at draft Kings. I don't even mind that
short the entire portfolio hoping that he doesn't start, because

(01:19:40):
we've seen before Russell Westbrook. I mean, he definitely was
not ever in consideration to be a starter for this
Denver team when the season started. But I think we
see Christian Brown potentially come back into that unit coming
up of a three game losing skid. These are the
ways that you want to be messing around with that
starting lineup now, now with Nikola Jokic in his prime
at the end of this seas when the chips are

(01:20:02):
really in play. So I could see Russell Westbrook being
the major anti beneficiary, if you will, in this Philly matchup.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
Let's break we'll come back with Eric Linquist more on
tomorrow in the NBA and even a people's.

Speaker 1 (01:20:15):
Parlay, locks, Leans and everything in between.

Speaker 6 (01:20:22):
It says here we should work in teams.

Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
It wants to be my spator. I don't think you
should be doing too much gambling tonight.

Speaker 5 (01:20:29):
Alan gambling does anything about gambling.

Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
It's not gambling when you know you're gonna win.

Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
Think now back to Boston's only nightly betting show, The
Gambler with Adam Kaufman. Listen on the iHeartRadio app or
your smart speaker.

Speaker 3 (01:20:51):
Eric Linquist hanging out with us from Odd Shopper and
Stoke Cast to get him on Twitter. At Eric Lindquist
looking at Friday in the NBA. It's, you know, compared
to today, a jacked up slate, but you know, middle
of the road, compared to a bloated day. Obviously a
game that it shouldn't be intriguing, and yet I just

(01:21:12):
keep kind of looking at it.

Speaker 5 (01:21:14):
Here.

Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
I built out, Lindya, a bankroll repair, a builder with
a couple of legs in the NBA, couple in college,
four legs overall right around even money, a little bit
plus money to again, it's a builder, it's a bank
roll repair. As we say around here, and I included
the Nuggets, and I included the Celtics. For whatever reason,
I couldn't bring myself to include the Clippers, who are

(01:21:34):
actually the biggest favorite on the board at fourteen and
a half. Part of that was, you know, the even
like that leg the juice is nuts. It's minus a
thousand thereabouts. But also, I just don't know if LA
is gonna up and out of nowhere rest this guy
and that guy like why won't play or hard and
won't play? Powell gets ruled out Like this team is

(01:21:55):
as bad at that as any other in the NBA.
At least we can look at the Hornets and say,
all right, we know they suck and there's no LaMelo ball,
there's no now Mark Williams is the way to attack
this game. Just go after Miles Bridges, whose points prop
is twenty two and a half, and the latest game

(01:22:17):
against the Nets, he scored twenty three, so we cleared it.
But you take an even deeper dive. It was a blowout,
so we only played thirty two minutes. He shot eight
of twenty one, He missed seven of eighty three point tries,
got to the line of fair amount. He's gotta be
out there, just fire and away. I take him up
to twenty five and consider the plus money at thirty.

Speaker 8 (01:22:39):
So you talked about the thread that I do every
single night at eric Lyn Clostover on X. I broke
this one down pretty in depth because I think there's
a lot of intriguing props. Now, first off, I'll play
Devil's Dad. Gets to what I'm about to say, I'm
with you. Miles Bridges has been ridiculous. When you take
ball Miller, Williams Man.

Speaker 5 (01:22:55):
Off the floor.

Speaker 8 (01:22:55):
Basically, they're four guys in terms of usage at the
highest numbers outside of Bridges, He's a thirty four point
six percent usage, twenty two point one percent of the
straight and sixteen percent total rebound rate. Those are ridiculous numbers.
But Kawhi Leonard, he is a ridiculous human being. This team,
this Clippers team with him on the floor this season,
has a one to twenty three offensive rating in a

(01:23:16):
one oh one point one defensive rating. For context, the Cavs,
they have the number one offensive rating in the NBA
at one twenty one point six better offensive rating than
that with Kawhi on the floor. And then the Thunder
have the best defensive rating at one of four point two.
The Clippers at one to one point one are three
points better.

Speaker 5 (01:23:35):
Than that with him on the defensive side of the floor.

Speaker 8 (01:23:38):
I'm really worried about Miles Bridges because I think just
about all twenty eight twenty nine minutes you're gonna project
KWUI four. He's gonna go up against Miles Bridges. And
on top of that, Charlotte plays on Saturday, so I
am very much targeting the under of thirty three and
a half. I think it's a very inflated number here
on Miles Bridges. As you said before, he only played
thirty two minutes last time out. But if there's one

(01:24:00):
position that Charlotte seen a little bit healthier at, it's
that four, where they could go to some DIA base
who played four next to Mark Williams and Toddage Gibson.
They can go to a Kogie who played the four
at Phoenix as well. They're very short on top in
terms of guards here, putting air daya a long out
there and backup point guard duty. But I think Miles
Bridges is probably the first guy you rest at this

(01:24:21):
game gets out of hand early. I like shorting some
of his props here on Friday.

Speaker 4 (01:24:26):
How about this Bucks Spurs game, Lindy, Milwaukee's favored by
three points on the road in San Antonio. Jannis is
probable for the game. He dealing with a little bit
of a knee injury here. Last time against San Antonio.
I think he had like twenty five points, sixteen rebounds
something like that. We got a rebounds line for Giannis
tomorrow at twelve and a half here. This is something
that he's pretty consistently either right at or smashing every

(01:24:50):
single time out.

Speaker 8 (01:24:52):
Yeah, with Kuina wear out on the floor, you get
two bigs not quite of the Cleveland caliber where it's
Milbley and Allen out there, but Bath out of Baio
is basically playing your glorified power forward physician with khalil Ware.
This rookie is now ascended near the top of the
board at every Rookie of the Year market. I think
what's difficult about the Miami San Antonio part is that
there's no penning injury news. I mean there's no penning

(01:25:13):
injury news books. This is the most projectable of all
your main sports MLB high variant sport.

Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
Sorry, Lindy, Sorry, I gotta cut you off. Milwaukee, San Antonio.

Speaker 8 (01:25:24):
Oh, Milwaukee, San Antonio. Excuse me, I was gonna say.
I was looking at Saturday's game. Miami and San Antonio
play each other there as I look at Milwaukee and
San Antonio. Yeah, AJ Green, same thing applies. San Antonio
completely healthy. Milwaukee on the other side, AJ Green the
only piece that sitting questionable there in that spot as well,
you get these really efficient numbers because again books can
really really pin it down.

Speaker 5 (01:25:45):
Brook Lopez, the.

Speaker 8 (01:25:46):
Honist, and Teacupo, ironically enough, very similar to what you
have on the Miami side, bam Adebayo and khalil Ware.
So you're getting another complimentary bigs. I will say this though,
that benefits you. Is Milwaukee the dead last, dead last
basketball team in terms of defensive rebounding percentage allowed to
their opposition. Over eighty percent of rebound opportunities are are

(01:26:09):
rebounded on the defensive side. This is something going back
years and years with Doc Rivers where he doesn't like
cherry picking, he doesn't like getting beat in transition, and
so he almost gives up offensive rebounding opportunities for his
team at the behest of just getting back on defense.
I think that could be an awesome opportunity for Victor
Webbinyama to potentially come in snag a bunch of boards in.

Speaker 5 (01:26:31):
This one, plus a little bit closer.

Speaker 8 (01:26:33):
Spread than you might expect with a healthy Lillard and
a healthy Yawn. It's at two point thirty one for
a total and a three and a half point spread,
Milwaukee being favored slightly, So I don't hate that. Look
whatsoever looks sort of efficient, but this might be a
good lead, like a good ladder opportunity where if you
get fourteen to fifteen defensive rebounds, you know that even
though Milwaukee's much better at the defensive rebounding side of thing,

(01:26:56):
you're going to have Wenby at seven to four to
find a couple of those offensive boards just by default.

Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
Yeah, Lindy, I just is it me? Or's the spread
seem too short? Like Milwaukee minus three and it's three
and a half at most places now, but there is
still a three out there? Feels like the play on
this one.

Speaker 8 (01:27:13):
Yeah, it's tough because Stefan Castle is a young rookie
that I really really like. He struggled of late. They're
actually questions on whether or not they were going to
keep starting him. Keldon Johnson's getting thrown out in a
lot of trade discussions revolving how Sacramento, Phoenix, Miami how
they might handle the trade deadline with Dearon Fox, Bradley Beal.

Speaker 5 (01:27:34):
And one Jimmy Buggler at the Cancer.

Speaker 8 (01:27:36):
That is, all of them kind of getting thrown out
in trade discussions with some kind of links to San
Antonio and Kelden Johnson, somebody who hasn't been playing a
lot of minutes here of late, but a young enough
piece still at this point in time, he's still only
twenty five years of age, still is a little bit
left on the bone. Potentially just such a poor defender
that I can't imagine a lot of teams going out.

Speaker 5 (01:27:55):
Of the where to go acquire him.

Speaker 8 (01:27:57):
But I have this actually closer to like one point spread,
so I would be actually looking more on the San
Antonio side than a decent enough team there at home
and Victor Webinyama in these kind of spots, I mean,
it's it's really hard. It feels like a pass overall.
Even though the data is kind of swinging me towards
the San Antonio side, nothing says that you have to

(01:28:18):
put your money on it, just because you know it's
looking at a point and a half, two points. I
think when you come down to a possession or two
like that, especially like a high variant team like Milwaukee,
you know they're going to be out shooting threes. With
Lillard a number of pieces off the bench, AJ Green
if he ends up playing in that one, Brook Lopez,
a big five that is out there on the perimeter,
You're running into more high variance basketball than I'd probably

(01:28:39):
want to deal with with just a three point spread.

Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
I guess the interesting time we need to get to
the people's parlay here, so let's do that. Lindy is
as familiar with the parlay as anybody. The numbers well
kind of shan to esque. I'll be honest with you.
You're five and.

Speaker 5 (01:28:56):
Ten Conkey lab with Konki.

Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
I know, I know, but we didn't catch the parlay.
You cash lad, you're five and ten. Your your personal plays,
but the parlay is one in fourteen. So let's be better.
Let's be better. Start us off. What do you have?

Speaker 5 (01:29:17):
I'm obsessed with this play?

Speaker 8 (01:29:19):
So you had brought up, you know, a number of
different reasons to potentially look at the pra of one
Miles Bridges. I'm looking at the pra of a different
big and a different spot. His name is none other
than Daniel Gafford. I've been riding the Daniel Gafford train
so so hard because one of the things that you've
always worried about with Daniel Gafford isn't his play on
the court in terms of acquiring stats. It's can he

(01:29:40):
stay on the floor defensively at times when you get
some of these shorter fives that can really stretch him
out away from the basket where he likes to roam.
He's always been good at blocking shots, always been effective there. Well,
wouldn't you know it? Derek Lively is out for a
long time, Dwight Powell is out for at least one
more game, and Maxi Kleban now he ends up joining
the in injury party had undergoing. He had a surgery

(01:30:03):
on his right foot. He broke it entirely, going to
be out for the rest of this season. Daniel Gafford
gets guaranteed playing time and outside of Washington where they
clabbered him by twenty two he only played twenty four minutes,
still put up eighteen and eight lost by the hook
on it. He's absolutely eviscerated this number. Eviscerated it in
five of the six games without Derek Lively here, And

(01:30:25):
I think that that can't be emphasized enough. When Jason
Kidd can't make up his mind on things, he generally
screws it up and he finds ways of just diluting
all the minutes of his bigs. But Nagie Marshall only
played fifteen minutes. There's not really a small ball option
here in Detroit. Even if Isaiah Stewart gets suspended, you
have a six to nine Paul Reid behind him. He's
almost guaranteed the absorb some of those minutes. They won't

(01:30:46):
go to five. Tobias Harris at the five with Gafford
on the floor. Gafford should destroy this Detroit front court
twenty seven and a half pra. It's minus one twenty.
I do not care about some of the inflated juice there.
I like the PRA this a little bit more than
the points plus rebounds, which I've been riding of late.
This is my favorite play by far on the card right.

Speaker 4 (01:31:06):
Now, Dan, all right, so I'm pumped to get to
talk about one of my favorite college basketball trends that
I've been tailing for the past month or so. Kent
State Guys. They are one of the slowest paced teams
in the country. They are fourteen and four to the
under this season when the total in a Kent State
basketball game is one forty two or higher, they are

(01:31:26):
a perfect seven to zero to the under. Tomorrow night,
the Golden Flashes they take on the Akron Zips, the
total sitting at one forty five and a half on
bet MGM. Let's scoop up that under at minus one fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Okay, I'm gonna circle back to the NBA. I know
Lindsay said that he skews to the other side, but
I'm gonna go with my gut on this one, and
that is the Bucks minus three. Obviously, I prefer the
three to the three and a half. But in three
matchups since Wemby has entered the league, we have seen
just you know, because I don't want to go beyond that,
we've seen these teams play three times, obviously, and the

(01:32:01):
Bucks have won all three by margins of Let's see
thirteen four and most recently the meeting this year, which
was only a few weeks ago. Sixteen. I think at
all likelihood Giannis goes crazy. I think, I mean we
were talking about the numbers earlier, what he has done
against Wemby in only a couple of head to heads.

(01:32:22):
I think Giana is gonna have a big game. You
want to invest in is over for points or PRA,
I'd fully support it. I'm just gonna take the Bucks.
Who I know, road favorite. That can be a little dicey,
be a little nerve racking. Nevertheless, I'm gonna do it.
I feel like the spread just a little too thin
for me anyway, the line maker that I am so
Bucks minus three is what I'm putting out there, Dan,

(01:32:45):
Are we able to shop this yet? Or do we
need to wait?

Speaker 4 (01:32:48):
We only have one option right now, guys, and it's
on DraftKings and Lindy. It is with Gafford at twenty
nine plus or PRA.

Speaker 5 (01:33:00):
Well, we're gonna have to. We're gonna have to. Maybe
we can wait here. I'm looking around the.

Speaker 8 (01:33:05):
Board here right now, I got twenty seven and a
half PRA minus one fifteen at bet three six five.

Speaker 3 (01:33:11):
Yeah, we don't have that here, Sad, I know.

Speaker 5 (01:33:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
Or I can do my good ones, or I can
do points and rebounds at twenty five and a half
on DraftKings right now, I would prefer.

Speaker 8 (01:33:21):
That, Yes, twenty five and a half points plus rebounds.

Speaker 5 (01:33:24):
It is just fine.

Speaker 8 (01:33:25):
The main thing is that I'm kind of using the
books against them against themselves. You've got the two and
a half assistant plus one forty, but I'm getting twenty
seven and a half as opposed to back in twenty
five and a half on the points plus rebounds. There
when you have the two and a half and you're
getting that extra half into your pocket, it can be
valuable going to the PRA. So that's kind of what
I'm looking at with it getting that extra hook. I'm

(01:33:46):
happy with points plus rebounds though.

Speaker 5 (01:33:48):
Over on DK.

Speaker 3 (01:33:49):
All right, well break, we'll come on back with all
the parlay details and those numbers on DraftKings. Lindy, thanks
for coming out of the pen once again. Let's hit
this thing tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Did someone jerk the people's parlay?

Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
If someone has to be the jerk, I hope it's
you or the guests. I don't want to be the jerk. No,
I don't want anyone.

Speaker 4 (01:34:06):
I pray it's you.

Speaker 3 (01:34:07):
I would like us all to hit all of our
plays every single night. But if someone's got to be
the jerk, I don't want to be the jerk. I
don't want to be the one that ruins it.

Speaker 4 (01:34:14):
No one likes being that guy.

Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
Go with your gut and lock into Boston's only nightly
sports gambling show.

Speaker 4 (01:34:22):
Message to our listeners the second Adam asks a guest
about their opinion on his leg of the parlay.

Speaker 1 (01:34:27):
Take the opposite Big Gambler with Adam Kaufman returns now
on WRKO and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
So your people's parlay for Friday, Dan is giving you
the under in the Akron Kent State Game one forty
five and a half. We have the over twenty five
and a half points plus rebounds from Daniel Gafford, and
I have submitted the bucks minus three. Put those three
together available to you on DraftKings plus five fifty six.

(01:34:59):
That is your people's for tomorrow, Dan.

Speaker 4 (01:35:01):
Yeah, sweet looks good, good looks feels like it's good looks.
