(00:00):
Now wr KO presidents Boston's only nightlysports betting show, The Gambler, with
Adam Kaufman covering spreads, props, parlays and more. The Gambler starts now
here's Adam Kaufman talk about living upto the hype. Game two between the

(00:21):
Warriors and Lakers. This is anail bier. Now, granted there's a
lot of game left in this one, but Golden State after a Clay Thompson
three pointer up by seven points withabout three minutes to go in the opening
half. A very interesting game. When it comes to how to live bet
this thing, something we'll get intomaybe in a little bit. We've got

(00:41):
a jam pack two hours show, our final show of the week, Remember
The Gambler with Adam Kaufman and Iam Adam Kaufman. Hi, how you
doing Hope Ball as well? Thisshow comes at you Monday through Thursday,
which makes this our Friday in amatter of speaking. The weekend begins tomorrow
and just in time for Game twobetween the Celtics and six Ers tomorrow evening
at seven thirty, which is whatlike twenty one ish hours from now,

(01:03):
and I'm very very much looking forwardto watching that we will preview some of
that game tonight. Look, maybeit's some player props, think about how
we want to bet that one,but again live betting this monitoring hockey is
something we will do. The Pantherstook down the Maple Leafs three to two,
which means the under hit boooo isright Boa killing the people's parlay,

(01:27):
never mind disappointing a lot of peoplebecause the money was definitely on the over.
That is Dan Watkins, who ofcourse joins us on a nightly basis,
and we will have a crowd ofvoices in this one, maybe even
our producer e J. Pacheco. We will have Nick Whylan in the second
hour from Rhoda Wire talking about theNBA and following along on this Lakers and

(01:49):
Warriors game and coming up in abouttwenty ish minutes twenty twenty five minutes,
we will be joined by Chris Carney, who owns Rainham Park, which of
has partnered with Caesar's Entertainment Partners toopen a retail sportsbook location in Massachusetts.
With the Kentucky Derby coming up onSaturday, we will preview the Ponies with

(02:09):
Chris very much looking forward to thatas well. But I think where we
need to begin, Dan, isthese surging Boston Red Sox, who have
now won sixth straight. They scoredthirty two runs in four games to sweep
the Blue Jays. They've moved pastthem in the standings. They have jumped
from last in the division to thirdin a span of less than a week.

(02:30):
They've won more games against Toronto fourin a weekend than they did all
of last year in nineteen tries. And obviously all is going well for the
Socks as they now head to Philadelphiafor a weekend series. But I gotta
tell you one. I've said iteach the last several nights. Bet the
over. Always bet the over. When the Socks are involved, it's gonna

(02:51):
hit more often than not. Ithit once again tonight in convincing fashion because
there were a ton of runs scoredin that game and Brian Bao he outdid
Chris Kevin Gosman, which was greatbecause a lot of the money was on
Toronto tonight, So that made peoplesome money if you had some faith in
the hometown. Nine And I thinkyou know an area that we can dive
into in a little bit after Istop my monologue here, Dan, is

(03:14):
you know, really considering how youwant to bet, maybe some of these
player props and total base props andthat type of thing. Definitely the way
the Sox are tearing the absolute coveroff the ball right now. Oh yeah,
and let's go back to that, just betting blindly betting the over when
it comes to the Red Sox.Something I've been doing since the start of
the season is anytime Chris Sale takesthe mound, I just absolutely hammer the
over. It's five and one sofar. It finally didn't hit this past

(03:37):
Sunday, I think it was itwas Saturday or Sundays last start, and
it just missed by one run too. But they're in Philly tomorrow night,
so it's Boston Philly weekend apparently,Adam, did you know that Red Sox
or Philly put it together? Fully? Yeah? I just I just did
right as we were coming on here. But yeah, I'll be betting the
over blindly tomorrow night. The Socksare at Citizens Bank Park, then the
Celtics take on the Sixers. Ray. I think that they're like right across

(03:59):
the street too. But yeah, the Red Sox, I'm not fully ready
to like buy in, like youknow, they might actually have a chance
to win the Pennant. But atleast they're going to entertain us this spring
in summer, and they're going togive us something to watch in baseball Season's
not going to be just a completewaste of time around here. So I'm
actually very excited about that. Howmuch does this suck, though, like
you said, Boston Philly weekend, which, of course it is if you

(04:20):
look ahead to Sunday. Now,I am certainly just in general, like
as a person, I am asucker for afternoon baseball. I love afternoon
baseball. But as you get alittle bit older, and I'm a little
bit older than you, Dan,and you know, I've I've got three
kids, so my weekends are alwayspacked with their sports, which you know

(04:41):
there are there are no legal Vegaslines on those. Of course there probably
should be on my softball team, because the over would always hit in that
one. Uh you know, evenif the over was set at like twenty
seven, I think the over wouldalways hit in that in showball games,
I would hope. So yeah,it's the real lack of defense, not
not pretty out there, But whenit comes to this upcoming weekend, I'm

(05:03):
kind of I didn't put this togetheruntil I just actually looked at it as
we were talking here. I'm upsetnow because the Socks, who I do
have a renewed interest in with theway they are playing, Not that I
ever wasn't interested, but I ammore interested, more invested now. They
play Sunday at one thirty five, right smack in the middle of the day

(05:24):
when I'm going to be coaching myfour year old soccer team, and at
three thirty are the Celtics. Sothey are overlapping. Why game four of
this series, this second round series? Does this have to come at me
at three thirty in the afternoon?Give me this in prime time? Look,
I mean, if you want tolook on the bright side here with

(05:45):
this, at least they're two hoursapart compared to how I feel like.
At least sixty of the eighty twogames between the Bruins and the Celtics all
winter long are on the same night, at the same exact time. Yeah,
so at least you get a littlebit of a you know, a
breather there in the These baseball gamesare moving now, which God bless the
pitch clock. It has been sucha wonderful revelation for the sport, and
it's just been so great to watchthis year, so that that Red Sox

(06:10):
game could be just about wrapped upby the time the Celtics tip there.
But I like the afternoon Sunday gamewhen the NBA does that, so I
don't really have a big problem withit. Clay Thompson has caught fire.
He is seven of twelve and twentyminutes has nineteen points to lead the Warriors,
as opposed to the twenty one, which is a game high for Lebron
on the other side. But Ipoint this out because the Warriors are up
by now eleven points, although theLakers are shooting free throws, but eleven

(06:33):
points, well, you need itwith respect to the spread. And I
fully get that, like you know, bet, you know, root for
your bets always whoever you are. That's that's what you got to do.
That's the way it works. ButI also would like to have a game
like and it is it is rightnow as we approached the half. But
I don't want this to turn intowhat the Celtics and Sixers became last night.

(06:55):
Like that's great if you're a Celticsfan, and I'm all about that,
But because I have no beyond propbets and parlays and that type of
thing. I have no rooting interestin this game in terms of who actually
wins the game. I want anice, tight game. I want to
keep the starters out there. Iwant an opportunity for these guys to hit
their overs. I don't want thisthing to get out of hand. Yeah,
but don't you want Dennis Shrodder tostay on the bench as long as

(07:16):
possible, not playing this game asmuch. I mean, he's at one
assist. We got the people's parlay. It's live tonight. As we're going
on the air here, we're waitingfor a rupe Hen's goal and Dennis Schroeder
has assist total. But look,I mean I gave out a bunch of
picks on my social media's at DanWatkins Radio, as I do before the
show here. I'm two and twogoing into this game tonight, so I

(07:38):
want to, you know, makethe people happy and hit here. So
I would like to cruise to agolden state. Win the mistake that I
have made the last couple of daystoday especially, and we'll see maybe I
will be rewarded for it and itwon't be a mistake at the end of
the night, this game is goingto determine a lot, and I mean
a lot, a large percentage ofmy bankroll. I have been betting stupid

(07:58):
Dan, and I recognize that Iwould never see there are there's a difference.
I would occasionally during the show,we will make live bets, or
I will tell you something that I, you know, have a real strong
lean on, or whatever it maybe, and I will tell you if
like, oh, this is abet I think you should make. This
is a strong bet, and thisis a strong straight bet. And I
emphasize that because I have been bettingdumb. I have been doing way too

(08:22):
many parlays. I know that parlaysas a general rule, as a better
they are stupid, they are idiotic. They will cost you money, not
make you money. But you're alwayssort of just chasing that carrot, that
that pot at the end of therainbow, that you know. I just
I am addicted to the idea ofthe parlay so much so that I am

(08:46):
now getting myself and not not literaltrouble. I'm not like you know about
to you know, call the gamblinghotline, but I with respect to my
bankroll, I am I'm betting alittle uncomfortably toward parlays, and I need
to. I'm this is basically thisis an intervention. Yeah, you need

(09:07):
you need a night where you're justgoing completely straight bets. Yeah, I
do. I need to, LikeI need to self impose a time out
and say not not even like don'tbet, just no parlays. You can't
no parlays at them for like threedays, only straight bets and maybe even
no prop bets. Maybe just justoutcomes with respect to you know, if
it's baseball run line and and evenif I want to bet totals, and

(09:31):
certainly the money line is always somethingthat that we'll talk about. But but
I man, this this Lakers game, especially Lakers Warriors, I am.
I am parlay happy, uh andI hope it doesn't absolutely kill me tonight.
So looking at the live lines hereas we had to half time of
this game, the Warriors are currentlyfavored by ten and a half over the

(09:54):
Lakers here at sixty seven fifty six, so it's an eleven point game at
halftime. They're expecting that to continue. If you do think the Lakers can
come back at all here and thisone, their money line is plus four
seventy right now, and the totalis at two thirty four and a half.
Our Guy e j Our producer whois a lebron stand says, they
absolutely will. You have to doit. You have to take it.

(10:16):
You know, one thing I didput in as part of a parlay,
I just need I needed a legto just lift it a little bit.
So this was not you know, the line on this particular leg was like
minus six fifty or something. Itwasn't you know, there's no value in
it betting it independently, But itwas Lakers alternate spread. I want to

(10:37):
say plus. I think just toprotect myself, I did like plus twenty,
figuring that if the Lakers don't outrightwin this game, they're absolutely not
going to get their doors blown off. But I do kind of wonder do
the way Golden States use the ball? Yeah, and we were looking at

(10:58):
almost the exact same situation as theCeltics last night. Right, you have
to get home team down O onewith a very disappointing first game. You
know they've been to the finals theyear before, obviously got Golden State with
four championships. You know they weregoing to bounce back and respond at some
point and they weren't going to godown two at home. So I really
liked the six and a half pointbet tonight. That's why I took it.

(11:18):
So in game one a couple ofnights ago, when Shrug Hero was
here from DraftKings, we had alot of success with this. I made
three live bets during this game, all of which hit, and they were,
you know, they were different things. You know, so and so
to have X number of points orrebounds win or whatever. It may be

(11:39):
different combinations that are offered depending onthe book that you're looking at. I
am looking at some right now,and I am curious if any would be
appealing to you right now. Keepingin mind that the Warriors obviously are up
by eleven points at the break. One of them at plus five hundred odds
is the Warriors to win and Stephto have thirty points. He has eight
at the break. Yes, Stef'sbeen very quiet, but you know he

(12:01):
loves that third quarter, so hedoes plus five hundred odds. I mean,
it's it's not a bad one.It's not a bad one. I
mean, I think the Golden Statewin is a lock there. So now
you just need to make sure theydon't blow the Lakers doors off here down
the stretch. You also need himto get hot, if you if that's
really believe he'll get hot. He'sonly taking two three pointers so far.

(12:22):
Well, and I was gonna say, if you really think he's gonna go
crazy, plus thirteen hundred odds islike the Warriors to win and Steph to
make six plus three pointers, whichhe did in Game one. Okay,
okay, thirteen hundred. Like yousaid, he's only one out of two
at the break right The one I'mlooking at right now, Adam is Clay

(12:45):
Thompson's point totals at thirty point five. You can get that at minus one
forty. Right now, he's atnineteen points. So I'd like to think
he's gonna get eleven points here inthe second half. EJ just said he's
putting money on the step bet EJcan I can't tell half the time whether
you're in my ear or whether youare actually on the air, which if
you can put yourself on the air, I don't even know if you have
the ability. Which better you areyou about to make here? We'll figure

(13:11):
that out during the breakout. Yeah, I was, I wasn't sure yeah,
well, early first week technical stuffthat we're working our way through.
We're going to step aside when wecome back. Let me see here what
time is it exactly. We're comingup on ten twenty, so yeah,
we'll do one more quick segment andthen we will be joined by Chris Carney.
Talk a little ponies coming up inabout ten fifteen minutes, So stay

(13:33):
with us if you want to bepart of the show. Six one seven
two six six six eight sixty eight. That's six one seven two six six
six eight six eight. Dan Watkinsis here as always. I am Adam
Kaufman. This is the Gambler withAdam Kaufman on w RKO. Second half
San Francisco underway between the Warriors andLakers, Game two of their second round

(13:54):
series. Obviously LA took Game one. We will see what happens. And
great to be back here with youon this show. I'm Adam Kaufman.
We're going to go to our guestline and switch gears. Talk to ponies
for a little bit. Chris Carneyowns Rainham Park, which was founded by
his father, ninety four year oldGeorge some years back. Chris, how
are you. It's good to haveyou on, Adam, Thanks for having

(14:16):
me. Everything's calling good. We'regetting ready for a big weekend at Rainham
Park. Dad's good ninety four.I mean he is living a full life.
He's trying to go again. Theodds are with him. I think
he's gonna make it hundred. Ilove it. I love it. So
Rainham Park partnered with Caesar's Entertainment Partnersto open a sports book retail location in
mass that was announced back in midJanuary. Of course, how's everything going

(14:39):
here as we sit in early May, Everything's going good, no problems at
all. Had a meeting in theGaming Commission today. I'm trying to get
my suitability in the order and tryingto get rolling. Caesar's has already gotten
the approval because they're online and they'reup and running. As you saw in
Massachusetts five hundred and thirty six millionthe first month in only twenty one days
online. I'm betting the state madenine million. Not a bad take.

(15:03):
Where are we now? Because Ioften just throw out estimates of the number,
but you would have a clearer idea. I've been saying now as we
approached two months into this thing,Massachusetts just mobile. Never mind retail must
be sitting close to a billion atthis point. Um, yeah, probably
right around that number right there.Like I said, their first months to

(15:24):
online was five hundred thirty sixty million, you know, and it only happened
in twenty one days. Huh.It's second behind New York and the biggest
openings in the country. Everybody likesto bet. Yeah, they're on their
phones, you know. And Ihope to open up my retail sometime this
summer on a temporary it's the olddog Track, and then we're going with

(15:46):
the fifty thousand square foot two restaurants, seven hundred and fifty seats, three
million dollars in TVs. We're gonnahave it, maybe some live remotes for
the Gambler. I love it.I think it's a great idea. I've
got everything in my life from youknow, ice cubes to throw in milk

(16:07):
jugs, so I know what it'sall about about. Gambler. Absolutely love
it. How exciting This is aloaded question, I know, But how
exciting is this weekend when when you'vegot the first leg of the Triple Crown?
And of course, I mean Iknow it's not here, it's at
Churchill Downs, but still the KentuckyDerby. I don't care where you are.
This is an exciting time. Ohit's huge. A friend of mine,
Vinny Viola, he owns part ofthe fifteen forte. Benny owned the

(16:32):
Florida Piants. Great guy. Iwas rooting for him, not to beat
the Bruins, but I'm rooting forhim right now. And you know,
Vinny's a good guy. He ownsit with a guy named Mike Ripoli who
started by them water. So theythrew up thirty million to buy horses,
and the cheapest one won the raceto get in one hundred and ten thousand
playma one hundred and ten thousand atthe sales. Not a bad investment,

(16:56):
no, not at all. Sothis weekend, you know, we've got
the twenty races or twenty horses, pardon me, racing the one to quarter
miles, the winner collecting almost twomillion dollars, never mind stud fees or
whatever else that comes down the line, obviously, but we did have earlier
today some scratches. Practical move lordmiles continue air. They are not going

(17:17):
to participate in this race. Youmentioned Forte as the favorite, and a
lot of people are naturally very excitedabout that, and then you start to
get into some of the long shotsand things like that. What is your
outlook on this race just in termsof, you know, what would you
be inclined to bet a favorite?I mean, it's so infrequent that we
do see a favorite go out andwin this race. So I myself probably

(17:41):
have twenty five in the stable.Myself, I have nothing come close to
going to the Derby, but Ido like two horses, tap at Trice
number five, and I like I'vetalked to Flavor and Pratt and Angel of
Empire number fourteen. I like thosetwo as good possibilities. But let's let's
talk about the Japanese horses. Numberseventeen he's ten to one and number twenty

(18:07):
it's fifty to one. They bothhave chances to get in there. I'm
not saying to win, but Iwouldn't fall them out in long shot specials.
There are a lot of people Christhat are just kind of trying to
figure out how to gamble in thefirst place right now, obviously with the
legalization for mobile being so new toMassachusetts, and you know, their aspects
to the sports book, but thenhorse racing, especially on a sports book,

(18:29):
that's a whole different animal. Nopun intended. So I mean,
what would you tell people that arenovices to this, that are just trying
to sort of find their way andlook for some educated betting tips when it
comes to horse racing. So twoof the biggest things to bet trainers and
jockeys number one and number two.If you go to Saratoga and either Irad

(18:52):
or his brother Jose, then numberone and two in the list. You've
got Slaylon Platt. You came outfrom the West Coast, another great,
great trainer, right, Joe Rosariois going to give you a good ride
at a thirty to one shot. You're not going to have a problem betting
him to throw him in for thesuper. But I mean, if you're
a novice, better right up thebat either better name a number, a
trainer or a jockey. You know, those are the best ways to gott

(19:15):
off small, get enjoyable, andI think you'll have a good time.
You know. Have you a Castellan, a good, good, good horse
guy. He's on the eight,Maggie, great, great guy on the
back of a horse. I hadhim on a horse for me the other
day. Run him a good race, I'm going to give you a horse
on Saturday one on my own.And a horse is coming. I think

(19:37):
it's Richard Dutro back off at tenyears hiatus from part Bird Racing, and
I have a horse with him,Prince of Pharaohs. If she runs in
the sixth race, she's got abit of a price that I like it.
I'm monopolizing this conversation, Dan Watkins, it's here as well. Dan
say hello, Hey, Chris, how are you? I actually do have
a horse here I want to bringup, and that's the s it's Chris

(20:00):
good Good. I have a horseI want to bring up here, and
that's the seven horse Reincarnate. He'sgot John Valasquez on him. He's a
three time winner. His odds aredown to sixteen to one. I think
he opened around fifty to one.So just wondering your thoughts on Reincarnate.
Hello, you can you still hearus? Chris? Yeah? I could
still hear you. Or you couldn'thear Dan. I couldn't hear Dan at

(20:22):
all. Hey, Chris, yougot me now? Strange? Well,
I'll pick up for him. Hewanted to ask you about Well, we'll
get that worked out on the technicalside. He wanted to ask you about
Reincarnate, who as as Dan wasjust talking about, the odds have moved
considerably recently. He was wondering whatyou think of that horse. Well,
let me put it this way.You can't ever leave Johnny vout is one

(20:45):
probably four or five Derby's, acouple of Preaknesses, and Belmont's the guy's
good. If you're gonna put himon a horse and you got a long
shot, I take Johnny vas Noproblems there at all. I'm more of
a super infective play in the inthe in the Derby, I try to
pick two horses and then go withblomb blomb bomb and try to get something

(21:06):
on a big price. But alwaysremember this, the eight horse U is
the number one winner of Kentucky Derby's. But also the number one winner is
usually a Florida Derby winner, whichwould be Vinny Viola's horse forte number fifteen.
So you gotta remember those two thingsright there. I always remember that

(21:27):
when you're betting anything. Very good, Hey, Chris, it's Dan.
I think you got me now hopefullyyes, all right, very good,
All right, So I do haveanother question. You were talking about some
longer, longer money horses here.Is there any shot of a like a
Rich Strike last year going off ateighty to one winning than winning the Derby

(21:48):
any of those long shot horses youlike? You know, you just kind
of kind of looked to see whatthe early speed is going out in the
race. I was looking a little. I'm more of a day off picker,
but I you know, knowing it'scoming on tonight, And I talked
to Pratt just because he rides forme. Sometimes I kind of talk to
the jockey's a ride for me orthe trainers that run for me. You
know, I'm a I'm a bigWestley Ward guy, have been you know.

(22:12):
Um, so some of the guysgive me some of the sprint races
early. You know, if youcheck back with me Saturday morning to shoot
me a texture an email, I'llgive you anything and everything I got.
We usually have something live coming outof the Bond that I like. I
like the sound of that. It'sa good friend. That is a good
friend to have. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I'm usually at Sarah Colber

(22:34):
five or six times. But youknow, when I go by, when
I go to the Bonds in themorning, I usually get you good information.
I tried it anyways, and Ipass it around. Not to say
we went all the time. ButChristophe Clement, his son friends, you
know, different ones. Um youknow, I got Michael Maker, he's
a trainer. We spread it aroundso everybody has to get back to us

(22:56):
and tell us what they like. You know, don't get me wrong.
Do not like sometimes the bether thando likes? So? And then on
the other side of that, isthere one of these favorite horses that you
would stay away from this weekend?Anybody giving you a pause? You know?
I mean it's the board's kind ofevenly spread, let's face it.
I mean, you know, it'sno big, heavy favorite. I think

(23:18):
you could see something easy coming ina long shot. I mean, don't
get me wrong. I was thereat the Florida Derby for four take.
Made a great run coming up thestretch. Ye. He was about five
ye and driving, So I meanthere is some the Florida Derby, the
tough thing. My good friend RichieDutrow, you know, he had big
brown and he said, Connie, can't lose. And I said, you

(23:40):
mean to bet the house on him? He said, can't lose. You
know we won the Florida Derby. We went back to the prekiness. We
won that. We went to theBelmont. I was there. They were
going to make a movie. Iwas going to be the lead guy.
And we didn't everything in the tank. But you know, you go to
my land, mate. It's tough, all right. We were going to
take a quick break, but Chriskyhang on around with us for one more

(24:00):
segment. All right, great,we'll keep talking Kentucky Derby then with Chris
Karney from Raynham Park. Dan Watkinsis here. I am Adam Kaufman.
This is the Gambler with Adam Kaufmanon w RKO. Horrors really opened it
up on the Lakers. Not goodfor prop betting parlays if you're worried about
things getting out of hand and thebenches coming in a little bit later.

(24:22):
But we'll see, still a longway to go in that one, hopefully,
Kaufman Watkins back with you. ChrisKarney, owner of Raynham Park,
is here with us as well, previewing Saturday's Kentucky Derby. And we were
Chris just in the last segment talkingabout a lot of the which horses do
you look for? And you mentionedobviously, the trainers and so many other

(24:44):
aspects of what you know makes agood horse to invest in in a big
race like this. What about thehorses to avoid? You know, which
which are the Whether it's specific onesthat you want to fade, or just
general rules of thumb when it comesto is to stay away from? You
know, Putch is a great Imean, he's a great trainer, but

(25:06):
I mean they're sitting on three hundredhorses. You know, bath food.
He's got his problems right now. He's sitting on horses, but all West
Coast horses. You know, I'mmore of a guy that you know,
has a stable. It's might beone hundred or less. The guys are
really watching the horses Bred Coxes thatway. You know what I'm saying,
he really watches his horses. Youlook at certain race tracks he spots a

(25:27):
horse Bred Coxes. He's a he'sa big Churchill guy. You know what
I'm saying. He does well withhis horses. You know, ask Newson's
a good guy for the Derby underCod too. You know, Cross has
got a horse that's fifty to one. And then don't get me wrong,
but he also has Angel of Empirewith flavoring Pratt who I talked to the

(25:48):
jockey, so I put him ina good spot there. What about post
position, I've heard some people liketo stay away from, like the first
four post spots on this race.Well, it depends on the weather and
how deep the rail gets over thereat Kentucky. I mean, I don't
see any rain in the forecast sofar. But if it's raining, you
know, they float the track andeverything rolls to the inside. It gets

(26:11):
a little deep. That's why you'llyou'll see a few of the old tapes
when it's deep in the inside. The horses blow to the outside and they
have a better chance. But youknow, you might get a speed demon
on there. And look at thebook a little bit more tomorrow, and
you get a speed demon out there, and all of a sudden burns the
pace out and you get a coupleof them that stot looping and they got
that late speed, the dangerous andat a high number. It's even better

(26:33):
you were talking about getting, youknow, not well, I mean,
I guess I could call it insiderinformation, right, you know, just
from your connections and knowing the peoplethat you know and the trainers that you
know, getting all this information, you know, Saturday morning and sort of
finalizing the direction you want to go? How much? Because I'm not someone
who knows a whole lot about horseracing, I'm not going to pretend that
I do. As we sit hereon a Thursday night, you know,

(26:56):
I don't know twenty hours away fromthis race, how much line movement is
there? You know? How like? Is it is it bad to bet
now versus waiting till that morning? Is it good to give yourself an edge
right now? How does it ultimatelywork from a strategy perspective? It takes
a lot to move the lines downthere, you know. I mean they're
gonna bet millions of dollars a littlebit better than twenty million in that race

(27:18):
there alone. So I mean,this is a day. There's a couple
of days in racing you want abet. Today's one. I mean,
Saturday is wanting them for sure.Even the Oaks is a great day because
you're going to get value, andthen the Breeders Cup is second and none.
You know what I'm saying, There'sthere's one hundred million dollars the in
bet in the day. You nevermoved the needle. You see something you
like and all of a sudden boomyou bring you'll bring it in. Yeah,

(27:45):
I mean I got some rainers, you know, like like Camo and
the under Cod Camayo, or havesome horses. You know a really good
trainer. You've got Actress. Youknow, he's a really good trainer for
me. I mean, Actress isdangerous at any given time. You know,
just a kid, he's right ontop of it. He's a betting
trainer. He bets himself. Youknow a lot of the trainers just go

(28:06):
out there for the watch, justyou know, the ones with the betters,
you know, they're on the edge. And when it comes to how
you're betting Saturday and how you're allocatingyour funds, Let's say one of our
listeners says, twenty five dollars theywant to put down Saturday. How would
you recommend that they do that?Would just go all straight picking winners or
maybe some exacts, some trifectas.I'd stay away from the trifectors. Just

(28:29):
if you don't have a lot ofmoney, it's tough to get that reach.
Yeah, you might get a hugeprice and it's great, but you
know what if you like a horseand the horses twenty five to one,
there's nothing wrong with betting them inthe place. He gas twenty five to
one at place is probably gonna bringyou twenty five dollars in the middle,
and then if he wins, forgetabout it's even better. You know,
you're at the fifty dollars spot. But I would stay away from the trifectors.

(28:51):
You know, an exact is agreat thing, but you're in a
limited budget. Either, go wina place in the game. Good to
know. Yeah, I was gonnaask you a little bit about about that
too, just as Dan said, the allocation of funds is it? You
know, are you more inclined towant to spread it out in general amongst
multiple horses, or do you tryand really hone in on one or two

(29:15):
that you really like most and justyou know, place place the outrights.
You gotta make it. You gottamake a stand. They said, you
gotta pick a horse, and yougotta go with it. Good dad and
different. You can't spread too muchbecause you'll never have enough. Like I'm
anna pick five guy, I'd ratherhave pick one staunch winner. If you
win, no problem at all.Basically, I'll do a bullet with an

(29:36):
all a bullet, meaning that's thehorse, and I'll take all in my
pick five and just hope for priceslike Saturdays the hope for prices day.
I mean, you could see apick five paye hundred and fifty thousand dollars
like nothing, and you can havetwo favorites and part of the pick five.
You know, I'm not saying aguy with twenty five bucks to pick
five, stay start off small, maybe you'll win a place and go from
there. Are very swade value Saturday. Hear that at him. It basically

(30:00):
is the same thing as sports betting. Stay away from the parlays. Yeah,
pretty much. I'll never learn mylesson. So well, look,
I won't hold you to it becauseit's not Saturday morning yet. Things can
change information moves, obviously, Butfor you right now, what are you
picking? I'm probably gonna go withthe five. You know what I'm saying.

(30:22):
I just I mean, Louis Eyeis a good thing, Todd Pletch
is a good thing, Kappa Trice. But I would also go with a
backup in the fourteen Angel of Empireand an exacta because Flavan Pratt he's one
of the best jockeys out there, the kid can ride and brad Pox brings
him home at the derby. Sothat's my EXACTA by fourteen and got the

(30:45):
go at the halls and the Japanesehorses somewhere in there. Write it down,
folks, place the bet if atleast if you know you trust the
man with the information. I certainlyam inclined to follow his lead. Chris
Carney, owner of Raynham Park,of course, partnered with Caesar's Entertainment,
a big, inevitably gorgeous retail sportsbooklocation coming to Massachusetts. As he said

(31:07):
midsummer Chris, thanks so much forjoining us. And yeah, let's get
down there and hang out. Huh, come on down. I'll love to
have you guys do a live feed. I'm gonna build a sixty thousand squift
but thirty two million dollar facility. It's gonna be the biggest one in the
country. And I want to haveyou guys there opening night, going to
live feed in many days. Anytimeyou need a baseball winner, you call
me up. Oh you can't.It sounds good to me, not twisting

(31:29):
my arm. I could promise youthat, Chris, We'll be in touch.
We'll let you go. Thanks somuch for hopping on all right,
right, huh, very good?Yeah, you were you taking copious notes.
You're just gonna go back and listento the podcast. I check some
stuff off, but I'm gonna haveto probably go back and refresh my uh
you know, jog my memory Saturday. I'm not gonna place any horse bets
till till Saturday. You know.I think I may just have to send

(31:51):
him a tech Saturday more. Iknow, I've got a guy find out
what's going on. Pass along withsaving that number in my phone, I
can tell you that. Yeah, opening night a Randham Park sounds like a
good time, sure does. Igotta get over there. I've never been
over there, so I would reallylike to. Warriors have really opened this
thing up there. I was talkingabout being conservative and placing a you know,

(32:13):
a leg with an alt Lakers plustwenty and a half. Well,
right now, they wouldn't even coverthat. It's the exact same script as
the Celtics, exact same script.Yeah. Yeah, and we got a
Dallas Stars goal too, by theway, it was not whatever, but
that game's not going over, notthe way they're pacing right now anyway.
One goal mid second period right now? Oh goodness, gracious, yeah,

(32:37):
who was that? Oh? Johnsonscored? All right, Well, we'll
keep an eye on the basketball game. We're gonna go and do a more
detail about that. We haven't evenreally talked about the Celtics six Ers Game
three, which is coming up tomorrownight, so we can do that week.
I just bet it. So wecan do that. Yeah, good,
perfect, great stuff from Chris Carney. If you're just joining us right
now, or you joined part waythrough that conversation, definitely check out the

(32:59):
pond cast when it's posted after theshow for the full chat because there was
a lot of great, great knowledgein there from Chris. So so great
to have him on the show. And we will do it again around Big
Races, no doubt about it.We're gonna step aside here and come back
in just a matter of minutes.I guess it'll be about six seven minutes
or so. We will be back. This is a longer break at the

(33:20):
top of the hour, and inthe second hour we will have Nick Whylan
from Rona Wire with us here andtalking about a whole lot of great stuff
around the NBA and obviously what ishappening Nixon Milwaukee guys. So we got
a lot to talk about there too. Yeah. Absolutely, if if you
hadn't heard coach Bud out the doorfor the Bucks after their number one seed

(33:43):
goes down in the opening round. So Watkins is here, Kaufman ej the

or visit gambling Helpline MA dot org. I hate this game. I absolutely
hate this game. It's going tocost me everywhere. I mean, this
was my bank roll. I hada great Monday, I had a perfectly

(34:29):
fine, acceptable Tuesday. Wednesday. Not good today though, devastating, absolutely
devastating day for the bank roll.Bets stupid, too much in the way
of parlays and props and whatever elseI need I need to. I need
to limit myself a self limitation onprops and parlays straight bets, straight Bet

(34:52):
Friday, your way right bet FridaySaturday, and say it might be no
bet Sunday, depending on how everythinggoes the next couple of days. Watkins
Kaufman. It's The Gambler with AdamKaufman. Nick Whalen joins the show.
He's from Rhoda Wire, Rhoda WireSenior Analyst and also one of very few
people in the Year of Our Lordtwenty twenty three who can pull off the

(35:15):
mustache. It is great to haveNick with us. Nick, how are
you man? I'm doing great,Adam. First of all, you can
grab the both of you, guys. I'm getting this new show. Been
kind of following along on Twitter.Really happy for you guys. Could be
fun to hopefully, you know, make this a regular occurrence. I'll do
my best to try to convey themustache be audio as well as I can.

(35:37):
You could. Well, the mustachejust projects a certain level of confidence
and attitude. I think we allknow that, so as long as that
comes through in your voice, willbe in good shape. No, we
absolutely I know that you and Dango go back quite aways from shows that
you've done together. Over at MonkeyKnife Fight, you and I have worked
together over at DraftKings quite a bit, so really, I guess what I'm
saying is you're just whuring out yourservices everywhere. That's exactly how it goes.

(36:00):
He could not could not be morespot on than business and yeah,
ri ip that to Mucky Knife Fight. A lot of fun, fun times
with Dan breaking down NBA and NFLplates with him. And I heard you
on the intro. I mean, apologies for your bankroll, which it would
have been a better night you.Hopefully you took the over on Tristan Thompson
five minutes played in this game, because it looks like that's where we're heading.

(36:21):
I can't believe he's even still inthe league. Oh god, I'm
I keep forgetting. I keep forgettingevery game and they show him on the
bench and I'm like, what theheck is that Tristan Thompson. Yeah,
they're enough, real wake up call. Let's talk about well, I obviously
I want to talk in particular iswhat are most of our listeners I imagine
care about is Celtic Sixers Game threeand that's tomorrow night. But we may
as well highlight a little bit aboutwhat's been happening tonight. So we were

(36:45):
talking earlier about just both having confidencein the Warriors winning that game. I
don't think you know, I know, Dan bet the spread. I don't
think either of us thought that theWarriors were gonna win going away allah the
Celtics against the Sixers in Game two. But the Warriors weren't going to let
this thing not be a split beforegoing to LA. But are you surprised
with how this thing has played out? Not at all, Not at all.

(37:09):
As someone who's who squatched a lotof Lebron teams in the playoffs in
the past, this is typically howit goes. You know, he'll kind
of decide whether or not he wantsto feel things out in game one,
and if they go like they didin this game one of this series,
you know, sometimes they'll try toput his foot on the gas and grab
that two o lead. And youknow, I was surprised how good the
Lakers looked early in this game.I actually played Golden State minus one and

(37:32):
a half on the first quarter line. It was all over the Warriors,
so they got three and a halfon the halftime line. I thought this
would be a spot where they getoff to a fast start and you know,
the Lakers are kind of playing catchup the entire time instead, And
I heard Dan make a good pointearlier. Just felt a lot like the
Celtics Sixers game last night, whereit's close throughout. You know, the

(37:52):
Lakers did just enough where at halftimeyou're thinking, all right, if they
can come out and just make ashort run here, get this down to
four or five points, maybe we'llhave ourselves a game. But man,
I mean this, this was kindof the full Anthony Davis experience, right
If we know at this point thatthe Lakers are going to live and die
by Anthony Davis, and he's basicallygoing every other game at this point,
you know, he'll give you thirtytwenty in game one and then you turn

(38:15):
around and all of a sudden he'sgonna put up eleven and seven tonight in
thirty three minutes. So long wayof saying, this is exactly what I
expected. This will now be fourteentimes in a row, guys in the
NBA playoffs dating back to the lastfew years, where when a home team
loses Game one, that home teamhas one game two. Wow, what
do we learn then? What dowe learn from? You know, for

(38:35):
people that are just trying to,you know, lick their wounds and put
this thing behind them. As youlook ahead to game three, what should
we expect. What is the rightway to bet this thing, whether you
want to dive in on props orif you just want to stay away and
you're trying to figure out how toultimately bet the game from a straight perspective,
Well, I think if there's onepositive thing you could take away if
you're the Lakers, it's that,Okay, Lebron's gonna likely end this game

(38:57):
playing twenty eight minutes and Anthony Davisgoing to play thirty three minutes, which
seems like a lot, but youknow, by playoffs standards for a star,
that's not that much. You know, the Lakers, you know,
have the rest advantage coming into thisseries. But it was clear at the
end of Game one, I mean, Davis was clearly gassed Lebron, and
to me, it's kind of lookedgassed these entire playoffs. So I would
almost rather if you're going to losethis game as the Lakers, it doesn't

(39:20):
matter if you lose by one oryou lose by thirty five. A loss
is a loss in the playoffs, and you know Lebron basically being able to
take the fourth quarter off. Itake votes well as far as what he'll
look like as the series shift toLA four Game three, But to me,
like I said, it really comesdown to what version of Anthony Davis
you believe we're going to get therest of the series and whether he can
do something he has not done reallyat any point in his career. Guys,

(39:43):
and that is string two or threeor even four really really good games
together. We've seen them sporadically, you know, we see the flashes every
now and then, But ken AnthonyDavis actually lead the Lakers to a win
in the series, because right nowit still kind of feels like Lebron is
gonna have to be that guy.Let's make people happy. Let's talk about
something happier. The Celtics of eventheir series with the Sixers going to Philadelphia,

(40:05):
they were the team the Blue Doorsin Game two, fortunately after a
not embarrassing loss in Game one, obviously, but but going down in a
way that was immensely frustrating as afan to watch. The line is only
two points. The Celts are onlytwo point favorites going into Philly in Game
three, Joel Embiid questionable. He'sexpected to be out there. Caesar.
They're not the massive favorites on themoney line they were the first two games.

(40:30):
Part of that is the fact thatthis game obviously is on the road.
Only one thirty of the book I'mlooking at right now. The over
under consistent with the first two games. It's two fourteen. We were just
talking in our last segment about someof the props. How would you bet
that one? I think you're right, Well, what you're alluding to is
that the book is a little conservativehere on the Celtics. I know they're

(40:50):
at one and a half or bothof today, and that's now up to
two where I'm looking over at draftings. It's funny because if you kind of
read between the line, you knowthis is a one one series, yet
often minus two forty on the seriesline right now, and if you look
into futures even any something like finalsMVPs like Jason Datum is a runaway favorite
right now at plus two fifty. So I think there's belief that you know

(41:12):
that the Celtics are going to bein good shape in the series. I
would be pretty comfortable taking the Celticsminus two tomorrow night, and it's going
to be a wild environment on theroad. This is kind of developed into
a mini rivalry, although it's beena bit one sided these last couple of
years. But you know, it'sinteresting. I think the Sixers are in
a very similar stot with James Hardenas the Lakers are or with Anthony David
right where it's just, you know, we saw the flash from James Harden.

(41:35):
We saw his version of what AnthonyDavis did in Game one in Game
one of this series, and thenhe comes tumbling back down two or fourteen
from the field last night in Gametwo. He was awful in that game.
Obviously, you know, the statusof MBID is going to weigh heavily
on this series as well. Ithought it was interesting that he came out
and said today, you know, hey, this is normally a four to
six week injury that I'm dealing within my knee, and I you know,

(41:58):
I think we could take that forwhat it's worth it. I think
stars will often say things like that, but you know it's hard not to
view that as ay, okay, well, we're kind of laying the groundwork
for if this series go sideways.Hey, I wasn't one hundred percent,
and I think a lot of peopleare thinking the same way too. You
look at the money in the splitsright now on Visa and seventy five percent
of the bats, sixty one percentof the handles on the Celtics minus two,
and then a lot of people goingfor the over tomorrow night as well.

(42:21):
Nick, what do you think aboutthe total in this one? I
would be always keep hitting those twopoint yeah. Right. We saw Boston
put up one hundred and twenty onein Game two, and you know they've
they've put twenty of fifty one fromdeep, which of course you can't always
expect. But you know, Phillyonly put up eighty seven in that game.
There's six of thirty from beyond thearc. I mean, that's the

(42:42):
game that that kind of mirrors what'sgoing on tonight. Although you know,
the Lakers not being able to getto the line in this game has been
an interesting subplot as well. ButI mean, the totals down at two
fourteen right now, I'm pretty comfortabletaking that one over at this point.
I think I think we also forget, like what an adjustment it is for
a team like Philly going from outMBD to to all of a sudden Ebid,
you know, seemingly a couple hoursbefore the game, and now it's

(43:02):
being like, hey, I'm backthat. That's a big adjustment to make.
Literally what Joel Ebid is in thelineup it in terms of pace the
play, in terms of who thingsare running through. I think James Harden
struggled to make that adjustment. Sois Boston going to go twenty fifty one
from three in Game three? No, I don't think they will, But
I also think Philly's going to doa little bit more to pull its weight.
You know, you could easily seethis being you know, a one

(43:23):
fifteen to I don't know, youknow one away type of game that that
pushes over pretty easily. So Nick, you being new to this show,
something we like to do is calledthe People's parlay. Which is the easiest
way to explain it is we arethe three of us. In the next
segment, I'm not putting you onthe spot right now. I'm giving you
the break coming up in a momentto prepare yourself. But in the next

(43:45):
segment, before we let you goat the end of the show, we
are going to build a parlay,a three leg parlay ourselves. You will
have a leg. I'll have aleg, Dan, We'll have a leg.
And the only rule is that youhave to play the parlay. You
can put however much you want towin invest in it, whichever book you
want to use, that is upto you. But you have to play
the parlay and live and die byit right there with us. It hit

(44:07):
on night one, Night two,two out of the three legs hit.
It was our guests who missed, and then no pressures. Yeah, and
then tonight, Uh, We're We'retwo out of three so far with the
third still in progress. But butI gotta say I'm not feeling too optimistic
about it. And once again, that's the guest leg. So the the

(44:30):
pressure is on you to not letus down, Let let us Dan and
I let the listeners down if anyone. I want you to be the one
that that guides people to h tothe bank basically, So I want you
to think about that during our breakhere, see what bets you really like
in terms of props for tomorrow orwhatever it may be. However, whichever

(44:50):
leg you want to pick, we'lldo that when we come back. Work
for you, hey, This isan immense responsibility, guys, but I
accept all right, perfect Nick, whyland rona wire, He's going to day
with us more NBA talk and ofcourse building the people's parlay will be on
the other side, it's the Gamblerwith Adam Kaufman. Well, it's a
blowout. It's a blowout in Sanfran which, by the way, the

(45:14):
San Francisco people will tell you theydon't like that. They don't like San
fran the same way Boston people don'tlike Beantown. So I guess I should
pay that a little bit more respect. Steph Curry, this is like Tatum,
right, I mean, not nearlythe same degree, but Tatum having
seven points in a blowout wins.Steph Curry sitting there on the bench chewing
his gum dropping dimes tonight most playoffassistants twenty fourteen only twelenty points. Only

(45:37):
twenty points for him and a blowoutbecause yeah, I guess he was creating
points in other ways. They're justdrag limping to the finish with free throws
in this one. A couple ofminutes left and it's basically a thirty point
lead for the Warriors. So greatlots of fun. We were just talking
about what to expect tomorrow night fromthe Celtics and Sixers Game three of that

(46:00):
series. I'm inclined to put moremoney on the Celtics covering that two point
spread, I really am. Butthat's not the only game going on tomorrow
night. Let's bring back Nick Whylanfrom Rhoda Wire. You also have the
late game on ESPN part of thatdouble header ten o'clock Eastern. It'll be
the Suns and Nuggets, with Denverkind of comfortably ahead after taking a couple

(46:22):
of home games in that series upto nothing going back to Phoenix. A
lot of people Nick expected Phoenix tobe the team that would not only come
out of the series, but ultimatelyreach the NBA Finals. This is a
huge hole to dig out of righthere. Part of it is obviously the
injury to Chris Paul. They're notquite the same team, but Kevin Durant
sort of laying an egg as well, and there's a there's a lot of

(46:42):
talent on the other side, ledby, of course, the two time
MVP and Nicola Yokich. What's yourview of what's going to happen this weekend?
Look, you said, a lotof people thought the Suns would cruise
through the West end. I wasin that basket. I really was.
I think, you know, thebiggest mistake that I've made, you know,
that's far as these playoffs, isunderrating the Denver Nuggets. I think
really, of all the teams thatare still alive right now, they're the

(47:05):
only one that has not had asingle like what the heck is going on
here type of game. You know. I know, they dropped one to
Minnesota, but they had like fourchances to win that game, laid and
just kind of had some flukey playslike they have. They have been on
Bruce control for the most part inthese playoffs, and Phoenix is the team
that I thought, you know,I threw out the argument that they they've
only played eight games together. Youknow, they'll they'll kind of learn on

(47:25):
the fly. They have so muchtalent. No other team can match that
top four and you know, asit turns out, I think we're still
seeing some growing pains with Kevin durantUm, and you know, it does
feel like he's really struggling in theseries, and he's still averaging twenty seven
and eleven. So we have toalways say, buy Kevin Durant standards,
but I think Phoenix is going throughsomewhat of an identity crisis like this Still,

(47:46):
when you watch this team, itstill feels like Devin Booker's team.
But when Kevin Durant's on the team, you want it to be his team.
Your Booker's played better between those twoguys in this series so far.
DeAndre Ayden still just kind of loston both ends, doesn't really seem to
know what his role is. Andthen you remove Chris Paul from the equation.
I'm really surprised, guys that thatthe Sons are still four point favorites.

(48:06):
So I know they're at home.I know they have, you know,
two of the three best players inthis series. But not only losing
Chris Paul, but the drop offfrom Chris Paul to the rest of these
guys that are suddenly going to bethrust into real meaningful minutes in game three,
that's what concerns me the most.Like Campaign has not been good in
this series, and beyond him, they're gonna have to dust off Landry Shammitt

(48:27):
like we're gonna see Tory Craig,Joshua Cogi, Damian Lee like maybe we
see some more ish Wayne right,Like, they just don't have a ton
of options beyond Chris Paul. Ifeel like you're making up names. I'm
sorry, sound like like NBA LiveOh wait, creative player. I was
listening to all that, Nick,I really was quiz me later. But
I as if this night couldn't getfreaking worse. You know. I took

(48:50):
the under in that game that justoh I took the under that and I
for a while it was projecting tosoar past it by like fifteen points,
so I'd already kind of resigned myselfto losing that bet. But I took
two twenty six and a half. That was the line. He just ended
one twenty seven to one hundred.I lost it by the hook. Bad

(49:12):
beats, bead beats the hell ohman, a Lonnie Walker floater with seventy
seconds left. We'll go down inhistory. What a jerk, he's He's
off the Christmas card list. Allright, let's go back to the game
of the series. We were justtalking about, how are you going to
bet it? How are you gonnabet this one? Coming up tomorrow night?
The Suns are four point favorites.Where I'm looking right now, and

(49:34):
obviously you know favorite on the moneyline at home. Although it's it's not
drastic, it's not like it's minustwo hundred or something. This has a
larger over under than what we weretalking about with the Celtic Sixers game,
a little closer to the game thatjust happened to twenty five. How are
you gonna bet this one? I'mgonna take Denver with the points, Guys,
I think this is this is kindof a gift right here. I
I you know, I know Phoenixcoming home that that should change the dynamic

(49:58):
a little bit, but I I'mreally surprised, like I said, that
this line has held at four invitedto Chris bauld News and obviously that that's
baked into it at this point. But it's a two man show now for
the Phoenix Suns, and even whenit was a three and a half man
show if you want to count Jeandraytonand that they've really struggled in this series.
I mean Game two was alarming.I mean Denver did not play well

(50:20):
in that game and still won byten points. And I know they at
the home court. Jokis was reallythe only guy who showed up for the
Nuggets in Game two, Jamal Murrayat one point was one of eleven deep
into the fourth quarter. He finishedjust three of fifteen, and he's a
plus fourteen. I mean, that'sthat's just really really concerning. And I
don't know that just moving the seriesa little bit south from Denver to Phoenix
is going to magically solve these issuesthat I think a lot has been made,

(50:44):
you know, of the math equationthat does not work out in the
Suns. Saber to me, Ithink they read a lot of the same
things we did after Game one andsaid, hey, we need to shoot
more threes, and you know,Kevin Durancos two of twelve from three,
like they're just not comfortable playing thatstyle. None of their role players hit
any three a Kogie, Lee Payne, Dory Craig, those guys were like
over eleven combined. Again, thoseguys should shoot slightly better at home.

(51:06):
But I think Denver has just lookedlike the better team. They looked like
the deeper team. They look likethe team that has carried over, you
know, from the machine it wasfor most of the regular season, whereas
Phoenix is still trying to find thatidentity. So I'm more than happy to
take the Nuggets and get those fourpoints. It is where the majority of
the handle is right now. Iunderstand that. I understand that for sure.

(51:28):
You know, it is tough tosee Phoenix, you know, possibly
getting swept out of the series.I mean, if they fall behind three,
oh, this thing is over andthat that just doesn't really line up
with what I expected to happen twoand a half weeks ago. But I'm
okay with that situation, I reallyam. I think Denver is in a
really good spot right now. Ifeel like they're coming out of Game two
saying look, we didn't even playthat well, it's not like we're lucky
to be up to oh like,we still feel like we have another level

(51:51):
to go up. So the People'spart lay, let's do it. Before
we let you go, I wantto talk first for a moment about last
Nights, which was Jeff Paul Rick, who of course you know very well
as well Nick. He joined uson the show. He was part of
the People's parley last night, anduh, Dan, we had to sweat
this one. But Dan took theOrioles on the run line. It hit
I took Dennis Shrewder's under assist propit hit. Jeff is a jerk and

(52:17):
decided to be a show off,and he's I'm gonna, you know,
if we're making a parlay, like, let's have some fun. His idea
of fun obviously is not making money. And he took Ruppe Hints with a
goal for the start. We gota period to go, still happen,
but but right now Dallas is upthree to one and Rupe Hints, who
had three shots in the first period, now has four through two periods and

(52:40):
does not have a goal yet,and he is in danger of being the
second straight guest to sink a parlaywhile we have done our part. So
it is it is up to younow, Nick, as we build the
people's parlay for tomorrow night, andyou being the guest, I will let
you start. And as I saidfor anyone that missed it, the rule
is you have to play the bet. You have to sweat this along with

(53:02):
us. So where are we going? I've got my book open, I'm
ready, all right, guys,I got a few options jotted down.
I will say I do love tobuy as Harris over twenty one and a
half points plus rebounds, that's hitin sixth right, he's gone over that
number. We hit that on theRoadawire NBA show last night. But you,
guys, your Celtics fans, I'mnot I'm not submitting of Philadelphia seventy

(53:23):
six ers. Bet on this show. We're going to get the same bet
and we're taking it with Al Horford. Over thirteen and a half points and
rebounds for Al Horford, He's beenhovering around this total basically every single game
in the playoffs so far. Gethit in two of the last three.
It did not hit in Game two, kind of an anomaly game where Boston
had that thing wrapped up midway throughthe third. Al Horford just needs to

(53:45):
start hitting some shots, guys, and I think he's going to clear this
pretty easily. The rebounding has notbeen the issue. I think he's gonna
play a lot more than twenty fourminutes. In Game three, he went
one of eight from beyond the arctwo of ten from the field in Game
two. If he's just marginally better, I really love this one. He
averaged sixteen points plus rebounds per gamein the regular season, so I think
we're getting a friendly number. Ilike that too, and Joe Missoula was

(54:07):
all over I'll taking eight points eightthree pointers last night. He was loving
it. So I'm sure Al's gonnahave the green light tomorrow. And I
again, I do want to offeran option though, because for you know,
some people, depending on the bookthey're using, they can't combine you
know, combos with certain other bets. So if they can't do the Horford
rebounds assists, Harris rebound prop theover, that's what you said. I

(54:31):
had the same bet for to buya Harris at twenty one and a half.
I'm just looking at the Draft Kingssports book. You know, they
offered those player combos, so ifyou if you're using Draft Kings, you
shouldn't have to build it as aparlay. They will offer that if you
just want to take Al Horford's reboundprop though it's at six and a half,
Okay, Dan, go ahead,Yeah, I'm gonna go. Cubs
money line at minus one sixty orminus one sixty six, depending on where

(54:52):
you're looking. The Coveies have lostsix out of seven, including getting swept
by the Marlins last weekend. Theyreturn home to Wrigley to Moorrow afternoon to
fit face those same Marlins. JustinSteele is on the mound. He's been
there studies four and l with anERA under one five. I like the
Cubs to bounce back and get awin tomorrow against Edward Cabrera, who did
strike out twelve Cubs last weekend, but he also walked five guys. He

(55:15):
is total hit or miss, andI'm expecting him to miss tomorrow at Rigley.
So give me the Cubs. Yousaid run line or money line?
Money line? Sorry, money line? Okay, just just just clarifying.
Yeah, we're not doing the runline sweat again after today. Tell you
what I'm not gonna do is isthe New York Mets anything. No,
they're banned. The Mets are bannedfrom this show. Yeah, lease for
right now. They're they're certainly onprobation for the time being. I was

(55:37):
considering a baseball money line bit,but considering you are you already did that?
I will. I'll mix it up. I'll go back to the props
a little bit. Also tempting toobviously go denver with the points like we
were just talking about, because I'minclined to agree with Nick on that.
But let's let's live a little moreinteresting, not not interesting to the point
of Jeff with an any time goalor something like that. But let's let's

(55:59):
pick out a up. I willgo just to elevate this thing a little
bit with a plus money pick.I'm gonna go Michael Porter's over points fourteen
and a half points. Uh.That's that's That's where I'm gonna tack onto
this thing for tomorrow night, sincewe were talking about that Nuggets game.
So let me see, as Igot plus four seventeen, you have plus

(56:20):
four seventeen, all right, Ihave I have to find Porter. There
we go. I I have well, I I did the al Horford over
six and a half as opposed toa combo, so I took an option
of Nick's. So I have plusfive eighty nine. Okay, right now,
but all right, it's a good, good, healthy parlay. We'll

(56:42):
see what winds up happening. Iwill be rooting for the three of us.
Nick, don't let us down. There's the pressures on guys. I'm
not going to sleep tonight. Ihad no idea what I was walking into.
This is a hornets test. Butthat's the luck to all three of
us, and really looking forward tosweating us out with you guys. Yeah,
this will be a good time forsure. I as you said right
off the hop when you came on, I hope this is a regular thing.

(57:04):
Love to have you be part ofit. It's great that you already
have a history with the both ofus, and for sure we come at
the people Monday through Thursday. Solet's do this more often. Hey,
absolutely, guys, appreciate you havingme on it. To grat again on
landing the show. Best of luckgoing forward. Thank you, sir Nick
Whylan from Rhoda Wire. He willjoin us again sooner than later. I
promise you that we will step aside. One more segment to go and then

(57:24):
we're gonna call it a week. The first week in the history of The
Gambler with Adam Kaufman. I can'tbelieve I need to live sweat a rupe
hints goal right now. Thanks,Jeff. Couldn't have picked like a shot
proper or something like that. Yeah, I mean I went with William Kneelander
earlier, and that was one ofthe picks. I tweeted out he had

(57:45):
six shots on goal, so Iplayed the shop prop along with his anytime
goal scorer. But I still can'tbelieve Toronto's down out two. At the
same time, it's just it's it'sunbelievable. I mean, I guess the
advantage is there's a there's a prettygood pay out if it actually happens to
hit. But man, I don'tknow. It would really save my day.

(58:06):
Yeah, I mean the Golden Stateone, you know, brought me
back to you know, a somethingthat's stomachable, if that's even a word.
I thought I had a bad dayyesterday, today much worse. Yeah,
I'm already looking at some already lookingahead to tomorrow. Love that over
in the Socks game, as we'vetalked about the Celtics. Loved the Celtics

(58:27):
lay in the two points, andthen I don't have a good feel on
this hockey game tomorrow night. Iguess it's gonna wait for Timo Meyer's status
for the Devils. But Carolina isjust a completely different animal when they're home
in their own building. The Bruinsfound that out last year. The Islanders
were actually able to win a gamedown there, But I don't. I
don't like Jersey without Meyer, Soif he's out, I'm probably I might
even go Carolina puckline yeah, Iguess, well, I wouldn't be surprised

(58:52):
if I just didn't bet it.But if I was going to best the
only game now, it doesn't meanI need to bet it. Dan,
Yeah, but I Adam, We'veonly been working together for a couple of
weeks here prepping this show. ButI think I think I know you pretty
well at this point. What you'regonna do. Yeah, it's just don't
parlay it. Just don't parlay it. I'm done. I'm done. There
will there will be like I'll dosomething. I will do maybe one parlay

(59:15):
involving the Celtics tomorrow as opposed tolike seven or eight. Like I probably
add for this Lakers game tonight, like a freaking fool. If I was
going to bet anything with this Hurricanesgame, and you're right, I probably
will, I will probably sprinkle somethingon the Hurricanes money line. That would
be the I'm not touching the overunder. I know that most of the
money in the handle is on theover. I'm just not going near it.

(59:36):
The money line only on minus onefifteen, right now, That's what
I mean. It's the handle.Yeah, it's it's not like we're talking
about minus two hundred like you youknow, you're essentially doubling your bet if
you, you know, ultimately gowith this. That's why, like you
don't even need to mess around withthe puck line now you know you're not
getting a huge advantage there, No, you're not. Actually didn't even look

(59:58):
at the money line. I figuredthey would be a little bit of a
bigger favorite than they are at all. But they are banged up. I
shouldn't say that. I shouldn't saythat because now that I'm actually looking at
at the puck line, where I'mlooking is plus two ten, So that
is obviously considerably better than minus youknow, one twenty or whatever on the
money line, right, but yougot to really have some conviction. Yeah,

(01:00:20):
and it's gonna come down to that, and we won't know until right
before. It will be a gametime decision with Timomeyer tomorrow night. It
was a game time on for Gameone, so I won't don't see why
it would be any any different forhim tomorrow. Yeah. Uh No,
Baseball, I guess is where Iwould tend outside of you know, our
our conviction and the Celtics covering thespread. If I was to live anywhere
tomorrow, it would probably be instraight baseball plays and at the moment,

(01:00:44):
what I can tell you if youwant to follow the public or the sharps
is a little bit of both mixedin obviously, But Cubs are popular,
although it's not great on the moneyline. Same thing with the Mets.
Who has stand said they're they're onprobation. Orioles are an immensely popular pick
in Kansas City. Uh, I'mactually surprised you're looking at today's Am I

(01:01:05):
looking today? Yeah? Yeah, they're playing the Braves. They're going against
Max Free tomorrow. All right,I got tomorrow open now, all right,
rinse and repeat, we reset theWell, wow, the Cubs right
now are uh, ninety nine percentof the handle is on the Cubs run
line over the Marlins. Yeah, wow, ninety nine percent of the hand.

(01:01:28):
They've lost six out of seven andthe Cubs they started off really hot,
they've come back down to earth here. Well, let's be honest,
that's about I'm gonna make. Uh. I mean, can we only have
a money line in the parlay? So yeah, yeah, exactly. But
in terms of some popular picks onthe money line, I'm looking at this
over in the Blue Jays, Piratesgame and nine runs. Yeah, I

(01:01:51):
mean over, So I'll tell youovers are well. The unders popular in
the Cubs game. The over ispopular in the Orioles Braves game. It's
poper in the Tigers Cardinals game. It's popular Dodgers Padres money lines a real
popular pick for the Diamondbacks, forthe Braves, for the Mets, although

(01:02:12):
