(00:01):
Now wr KO presents Boston's only nightlysports betting show, The Gambler, with
Adam Kaufman, covering spreads, props, parleys and more. The Gambler starts
now here's Adam Koffman. What's upeveryone. Welcome in wark O, Adam

(00:25):
Compton. As you just hear, this is a brand new show across the
iheard network of ports on Warko herein the Boston cluster of you are listening
locally, it is The Gambler withAdam Coffman. I am Adam Compton.
I don't know if that makes methe Gambler or if we're just all gamblers.
Well, I know we're all gamblers. The proof is in the pudding.
The money will tell you. There'sbeen what three quarters of a billion

(00:49):
dollars probably spent on mobile sports bettingsince March tenth, never mind retail,
which is obviously a much, muchsmaller part of the business, just since
Massachusetts when live with mobile back onMarch tenth. It really has been of
course launching with March madness, goodtiming, and then you have the NFL
Draft and of course NHL NBA playoffs. But we are approaching a billion dollars

(01:14):
wagered by some of you out therelistening, and many many others who are
not who we hope will over thecourse of time. And this show.
This show is going to fixate onall things sports betting and sports fandom and
how you spend your money. It'snot going to get into the nitty gritty
of your typical sports talk show drama. We're just kind of worried about the

(01:36):
numbers and the stats and the cashand all of the important things that ultimately
impact our wallets, which is whyI'm beginning this show kind of pissed off.
To be perfectly honest with you.My god, my lord, what
a terrible, absolutely terrible twenty four, twenty six hours whatever it's been over

(01:59):
at the Garden. This is justah. I know, it's not supposed
to be easy. If it waseasy, everybody would do it. I'm
not the only person out there whois listening or who is a part of
this show to have his wallet impactedby the Bruins season ending loss yesterday or

(02:20):
the Celtics series opening loss today justmoments ago. It ended what like fifteen
minutes ago. I am so incrediblyupset about what has happened the last couple
of days, and I can't helpbut feel and this is not the case,
obviously, but after the Bruins gamewhere you're up with a minute left
and you lose, and then theCeltics game where you're up with a minute

(02:43):
left and then you lose. Man, I was watching that game with the
stresses, all the stresses of agame seven. You would think the way
I was biting my nails, sittingin the fetal position on the couch,
twitching, shooting my any family memberaway who would come near me, ignoring
texts on my phone, you wouldthink the Celtics season just ended too,

(03:08):
not the fact that they could turnthings around and win this series in five
or six. It was a badnight. I mean, the first half
of that game, both teams arejust shooting lights out at an All Star
game, lack of defense, efficiencyof shooting, giggle as you watch short

(03:29):
of way. But the Celtics defense, which I really did believe was going
to show up in the second half, it never did. So we will
recap some of that. Let metell you a little bit about this show,
though, because I feel like I'mkind of already off and running,
because emotions are just running high andI'm ticked. I am oh God,
like sitting on my hands. I'mso upset. And that's even with like

(03:51):
making a little bit of money sofar tonight on parlays within that game or
prop bets within that game and obviouslyfalling short on anything everything that attached the
Celtics money line to it like afreaking idiot, because that was supposed to
be the easy hit of the night. Never is. How many times have
we've been burned by that? Butthis show is going to come your way

(04:14):
ten to midnight Eastern time, Mondaythrough Thursday, right here wherever you are
listening, be it on WRKO onthe radio, if you are finding us
online on the WRKO website, ifyou are listening just by telling your Alexa,
hey Alexa, play WRKO. Weappreciate it. Either way however you
are listening, the fact that youare out there, we do appreciate it,

(04:35):
and we will take your calls overthe course of these couple hours as
well, So please do be apart of the program and in that respect,
and we will get used to givingyou the call number. There will
even be a text line that wewill give you as well. Not tonight
we're getting all of that situated. But the phone number if you want to
be part of the show six oneseven two six six six eight six eight,

(04:58):
by all means call in, celebrateyour good bets, vent about your
bad beats, whatever it may be. We want to hear from you again.
Six one seven two six six sixeight six eight. You can always
get me on Twitter at Adam M. Kaufman. I'm on Instagram as well.
I think that's the same handle. And I'm not going to do this
alone. I know I've been monologuingfor a few minutes, but I Am

(05:18):
not going to do this alone. We are going to have guests industry experts
every single night, both hours.Oftentimes we will do multiple guests. Today
we're going to do one. EtonShander, you may be familiar with him.
Used to host a national radio show, The Shander Show. He's been
part of the iHeart Network in thepast. Right now he is over at

(05:40):
odd Shopper, part of the Stochasticfamily, very successful in the betting space.
Man who nails parlays what feels likeday after day, and he's going
to come in a lot happier thanme because it just so turns it turns
out that he is a He's aPhilly guy, me being a Boston guy.
He's a Philly guy. Thought thatmight be fun, idiot, So

(06:02):
we're gonna do that tonight. Butit's not just guess. There will be
a regular lineup of contributors to thisprogram, none more often than Dan Watkins,
who was back in our WRKO studios, who will be part of this
show every single night, Monday throughThursday, unless of course he's on vacation
or taking a day off or somethinglike that. You will also hear from

(06:24):
Brian Antonelli on this program, nottonight but in the future. And EJ
is our producer extraordinaire also a callscreener, so he will be the voice
that you will hear if and whenyou call in again. Six one two
six six six eight six eight.Dan and I we're texting at points during
that game, probably until I justthrew my phone at a wall, which

(06:45):
is why the screen is now indented, which is awesome. Hey Dan,
that was fun. Yeah, Adam, I'm glad you kind of started off
of the monologue there, because I'vebeen sitting here in silence, still staring
at TNT. It's now in thecommercial the Sun's Nuggets game. But God,
was that just pathetic by the Celticsthere how they close that out?
And let's hope that this show goesbetter than that final pass from Malcolm Brogden

(07:06):
Right, it won't. Why howcan I believe in anything positive anymore?
I thought for sure, and thisis this is the I really like,
they're all right, we know, like a cardinal rule of sports betting,
right, don't bet like a fan. Try and bias from the equation as
best you can. And I dothink generally I am pretty good about that

(07:28):
generally. And I've been burned byit. I can't tell you how many
times, but generally I am goodabout that. And I promise you whenever
I'm giving out picks on this show, if it is a pick that I
genuinely believe in, which will beninety nine percent of the time versus one
that it's like, this is,this is from the heart, This is
I don't know if it'll play out, but this is just what I what
I you know, It's it's likewhen I every night I will just throw

(07:51):
a little bit of money on aBoston parlay like Red Sox and Celtics or
Red Sox and Bruins or whoever, like, whatever the combination is, I
will do the Boston parlay simply forme. I just do it for me.
It's not a lot a lot ofmoney. It's not going to break
the bank roll. If it doesn'thit. I'll be happy if it does.
But it's not gonna get me richeither. It's just one of those
I do it from the heart becauseI just I want to root for the

(08:11):
local teams every once in a while. That will happen. With that Bruins
game yesterday, they were down andI made a bet. Turned out it
hit. It was it was agood bet. The line I don't remember
what the line was, but theline was, you know it was it
was plus money for the Bruins.I think it was the I'm trying to

(08:31):
remember now. I believe it wasthe Bruins plus one and a half goals
when they were down two to one, and you know it plus money.
And so I put a decent amountof money on That paid off obviously,
because I felt, you know,if they come back and win, great,
but either way, I believe it'sgoing to be close. So I'm
confident in this bet and it didhit, and I gotta tell you this
is where like don't bet as afan came into play. I considered,

(08:52):
I looked. I even looked withlike two minutes left in that game,
at the fact that you know Bruinsare up three to to as I don't
know, like bad things happen,I'm gonna maybe I'll put a little money
down on plus five hundred to goto overtime. Na I can't. It's
too negative. It's too negative.I can't do it, and I didn't
do it. But I thought aboutit because it's a reasonable kind of bet,

(09:16):
and even you know, I've gotenough money on the Bruins that it's
it's it's almost like hedging your fateto some degree, Like if if I
do get burned, god forbid, they go to overtime and they lose this
game, at least I'll get alittle money back on that. But I
didn't do it. Instead, theywent to overtime and I put more money
on the Bruins, just like tonightwhen the Celtics were you know, close,

(09:37):
and the money line was never likeeven when it was tied down.
I don't know if you looked atit, but I go to the live
lines at one point and it wastied with I think three or four minutes
left, and the money line wasstill like minus three fifty for the Celtics.
Yeah, like it still wasn't evenstill wasn't even remotely close to a
good number. But I've seen nowwith a lot of favorites all across sport,

(09:58):
hockey and basketball, these layoffs, like even I think even the Bruins
when they were trailing at one pointyesterday, we're still minus on the money
line. Yeah, first period. But but this is this is what I
will do. I will I willjust I'll like pile on like throw good
money after bad feeling like it's youknow, well this is smart like that,
as opposed to sort of taking offthe green rim glasses, you know,
the Celtics goggles and saying like thisis they're playing like crap, like

(10:22):
yeah, they may steal this one. And I never, I never felt
over the top grade about this gamein the sense that obviously I had them
on the money line all over theplace, but I never had the conviction
to bet them to cover the points. I never thought that that like the
Celtics to me, were and Iwould have been pleasantly surprised, but in

(10:43):
my head they were never going towin this game by the ten and a
half points. No, definitely,I didn't even consider it, and I
almost wonder, and this is somethingI want to get into with Aton.
On the other side, there's apart of me that thinks, man,
you know, there's they they playso down to their competition, you know,
no Joel embad tonight, it's settingup for a great night for Boston.

(11:07):
You know. The series line tobet the Celtics, it opened at
minus two ninety at one of thebooks I was looking at, and by
the time the series started, nojoke, it was like minus six hundred
for thee Because of all the Joelembiid. You know, he may not
even play in the series. He'sgot a torn you know, ligament in
his knee and all these rumors thathave been circulating, and obviously we know

(11:28):
he didn't play Game one. Butthat's all the stuff that I was looking
at and thinking, you know, maybe this is bad, you know,
like not not bad to the pointwhere I thought they would lose clearly,
but maybe this is bad that Ebadis not out there. The Sixers are
going to be a quote unquote badteam. Celtics aren't going to take them
seriously, and this crap happens justlike it did multiple times against the Hawks.

(11:54):
I don't know if this is atrend, if this is a sign
of things to come, if weneed em beat out there for Boston to
actually care a little bit more, but it seems like too little, too
late when they try and put theirfoot on the gas in some way or
get stopped when they haven't getting stopsall day, and then it's just bad
turnovers and no offensive rebounds. Iknow they had that little flurry at the
end, we're smart, got acouple, but generally speaking, you know,

(12:16):
killed on the glass in that respect, stupidity, the broad didn't turnover
made me want to jump out offreaking window. And it's just like this.
We'll get into the metrics of itin terms of the money and all
of that, like I said, but the needless to say, emotions are
running high after this one. Absolutely. It was. It was like watching
the Celtics against the Magic this year. How many times did they lose to

(12:39):
Orlando three times? Yeah, itwas. It was just brutal and that's
just what they do. I mean, I was almost expecting. I was
talking to EJ before the show, how it was just waiting for the Celtics
to go up, you know,by ten fifteen points in the third quarter,
then all of a sudden, letthis team back into it. They
never got up that big, butit was it was just a pathetic showing
about the Celtics down the stretch.I can't even be happy about the Red
Sox off the Blue Jays right now, just because of the and again killed

(13:05):
the Boston parlay. Red Sox didtheir job. Celtics, where were you
massive favorites? All right, we'regoing to take the first break in the
history of the Gambler with Adam Kaufman, but rest assured we will return.
Aton Shander is going to join uscoming up for the next couple of segments.
Dan. Obviously, we'll continue tobe part of the conversation as well.
We welcome you. We hope you'reout there listening, and you know

(13:28):
this is new. It takes timefor people to find us, obviously,
but we're grateful to be here.I'm thrilled to be here, and I
hope you guys are enjoying what you'veheard so far. Again, make sure
to call in be part of theshow. We'll take calls with the guests
as well. If you'd like toget knee insight. Six one seven two
six six six eight six eight. That six one seven two six six six

(13:48):
eight six eight. We will beright back. Sick and tired of old
sports talk and want to get rightinto the action The Gambler with Adam Kaufman.
As you covered, call us nowin six one seven two six six
six eight six eight. That's sixone seven two six six six eight six
eight. The Gambler with Adam Kaufmanwill be right back after this on w

(14:11):
r KO live lines, locks andlong Shots. Now back to Boston's only
nightly betting show, The Gambler withAdam Kaufman on six eighty w r KO,
streaming live on the iHeartRadio app,or tell your smart speaker to play

(14:33):
w r KO on iHeartRadio. I'mjust looking at Twitter from the Celtics post
games. These players obviously stock andcommedia from Gary Washburn Boston lob Al Horford
said defense was the main issue ingame. Money you don't say really,
he admitted, shocker, the Celticsdidn't a fear as locked in after embiid

(14:56):
was scratched, been a weakness foryears. What did I just say in
our entire opening segment? This iswhat they do, Adams say, Adam,
They let thirty three year old JamesHarden have his first forty point game
in over two years. He hadn'thad forty points in a game since,
like March of twenty twenty one.He had forty five tonight. What a
infuriating it look like it was twentynineteen again. You know what, here's

(15:20):
here's something that I'm going to doperiodically during the show. Is I didn't
even think think about this until duringthe break. This is this is my
effort to try and make myself feela little bit better or worse depending on
the night, but hopefully better.Right now, well, well we can
we can workshop a name for itif anyone wants to be part of this.
Well, like you know, theperiodic check in on Kaufman's bets.

(15:41):
All right, I'm looking at someof my settled bets from the first point
of the night. That way,you know, people will hear whether I'm
any good at this or terrible atit, or I'll read you the bets,
you know, not the amounts butI'll just I'll tell you what what
I'm keeping an eye on uh MasatakaYoshida two plus total bases that in the
first inning with a double, Sothat's done. There was a boosted promo

(16:04):
that I saw online that I capitalizedon of Tatum and Brown to combine for
sixty plus points. That was boostedto plus three hundred. There you go,
So thank you fan Duel for that. Oh. I had Jalen Brown
over twenty four and a half bythe way, I thought I was golden
in the first quarter. He hadwhat sixteen in the first he was on
fire, and then he just disappeared. Fourth cal Quantrille of the Cleveland Guardians

(16:27):
under three and a half kse hefinished with two. That's a hit over
ten runs between the Red Sox andBlue Jays. Thank you for Toronto's late
comeback. So that hit with thesix five win this one. Jayson Tatum
over fourteen and a half rebounds andassists finished with sixteen. James Harden under
six and a half rebounds. Thatwas a hit. Tobias Harris, here

(16:48):
was a sweat for you. Undertwenty six and a half points, rebounds,
assists. He finished with twenty sixoh a parlay that hit Tatum thirty
plus points, Brown twenty plus points, Maxi twenty plus points, and Hardened
twenty plus points. So that wassuccessful. This put just so you think
I'm not perfect, because I promiseyou I'm not. This parlay flopped because

(17:11):
Derek. This was I did ahow many legs did this have? I
don't know, this was ten oreleven legs just for giggles, but it
wasn't a massive achievement thing. Itwas plus five hundred overall because White,
Smart and PJ Tucker all missed.I needed them each to hit one three
pointer. None of them achieved that, so that was a miss that was

(17:32):
unfortunate. I don't know. Wecan review some other stuff a little bit
later on. I'm keeping our guyhanging and he emo certainly does not care
about the success or failures of mybets, or if he does, it's
it's purely on a friend level andnothing more. Aton Shander you know him
from Odd Shopper. You know himdepending on how long you've been listening to

(17:52):
national radio The Shanders Show. Hedid that for sports Map for a while
and also has been part of theeye Heart Network on a sister station of
ours, The Gambler. Fittingly enough, the show is The Gambler with Adam
Kaufman. But there's a station forI heard the Gambler in Philadelphia. That's
right, Philadelphia. We come toyou from Boston. He comes from,

(18:15):
evidently the city of winners tonight.Aton, Are you there, buddy,
I'm here, my friend, loudand clear, probably in a much better
mood than we are. I look, I'm always My mood always depends on
how my betslip is at the endof the night. So I, first
off, I was with you rightdown to the final second as the Sixers

(18:36):
won the game and sealed it inthe end, right to the final second
with that under twenty six and ahalf pra a for Tobias Harris. So
I was on the verge of beinga little disappointed at his rebounds under his
rebounds prop but no, look, overall, this was a gift, and
you guys gave us a gift.I heard you talking about it, both

(18:59):
you talking at it beforehand. Thiswas clearly a team that thought they could
sleepwalk. And look, that doesn'tnegate Jason Tatum's efforts and Jalen Brown's efforts
and Malcolm Brogden's efforts by any means, but my goodness, without the MVP
of the league e let and Isince March of twenty twenty one, was

(19:25):
that like the bubble or pre bubble, I mean, my goodness, James
Harden look revived to maybe like doublethem at the end as opposed to you
know, sending Al Horford out tothe three point line to guard him.
Are we I'm not. I'm nota huge attack the coach guy. I'm
just not. I think coaching inthe NBA in particular is something that is

(19:47):
vastly overrated when you have a contendingteam. I think if you have a
rebuilding team or even a bad teamthat's trying to find its way, you
know, if you're perfectly mediocre, coaching ken matter, coaching can buy you
some win. I think if youare a contending team, generally speaking,
unless you have one of the trulyelite coaches in the league, and you
know, I like, I'll throwEric Spoelstra into that category. Now,

(20:11):
in terms of active coaches, youknow, Joe Massoula just got here.
He is not an elite head coach. He did finish third in the Coach
of the year voting. He isI think a good head coach. But
I wouldn't call him great, Iwouldn't call him bad. I would call
him the guy that was handed anelite team and he's trying to figure it
out. And I do think interms of strategy there at the end,
you know, the last play drawnup, assuming it was drawn up from

(20:34):
Marcus Smart with what we saw there, where he turns it over, or
just guarding Horford, or guarding Hardenwith Horford at the three point line when
he's been raining buckets all day.Probably not Joe's finest moment. No,
And I think here in Philadelphia it'san understatement to say that we turn on
the coach no matter who the coachis unless you win something pretty quickly,

(20:56):
and we do play blame the coach, and Doc Rivers has taken a lot
of heat right down to yeah, exactly exactly. I mean, he is,
my goodness, since his victory inBoston in two thousand and eight,
no coach has done less with moretalent in the history of the game.
But that aside, Yeah, evenwhen you have created and look, you

(21:19):
know, it's it's the ghost ofMilwaukee, It's the ghost of your hockey
team. It's the ghost of whatseems to be the theme here, which
is there is Memphis and memphiss isa different story because I think they were
paper and willing and ready to beknocked off. But when I say the
ghost of it out, I'm Imean teams that have earned their keep and

(21:40):
now just being evicted from their spot. And my goodness, this game.
You can't mess around with this becauseat some point and beat I'm guessing i'd
bet over under I'd bet that he'sback game three, not two, especially
since they won game one and he'sstill hurt. But man, you can't
allow that to happen in this series. It was a gift. What is

(22:03):
the concern level? We'll go tobreak in a second, then we'll start
to look ahead to game two becausesome of the lines are out. But
what is in Philadelphia specifically the concernlevel about Joel and Beads health, because
there was and take it with agrain of salt right the source. But
you know, Skip had a thingon his show earlier, Today's Skip baitless

(22:25):
about and Bead's gonna be if heeven plays at all, he's gonna be
twenty percent of himself. There's actuallya tear there, It's not just a
sprain. What do we know interms of actually like reliable, credible information
about Joel and Beads health. Becauseto your point before, you know,
I like you talk about Game threethe way that the way the series betting
lines moved from this series being announcedBoston and Philadelphia to when it actually began

(22:49):
earlier tonight, there was such drasticline movement, it would suggest and Bead's
not gonna play the whole series.Yeah, I think Game three is the
target right now. I think peopledid not want to. Well, first
off, there was doubt right awayas soon as they knocked off Brooklyn Adam
that he would be fifty fifty toplay Game one, and right away anybody

(23:14):
who had any connection, even ifit was a connection to a connection,
you've tried your due diligence to figureout, Okay, how bad is this?
And then it comes back, youknow, Shams comes out with it
and it's worse than initially what theythought. I heard before this series started
from somebody I do trust that Gamethree was the target, was the target

(23:37):
for Joel Embid. Now here's whathappened in this series. The Boston Celtics
also took off Game one. SoJoel Embiid took off game one and the
Boston Celtics just by the result ofthis game. So this series now has
a significant edge even if it's wonone and embeat his back for his first
game in game three. So Ithink the concern right now, to go

(24:00):
back to the initial point or question, sorry, would be it's mild now
because they won game one for gametwo. But look, if this dude
ain't pack game three, then we'renot talking about this game one about anything
more than just a little hancup forJayson Tatum and company. All right,
let's take a break. We willcome back more from Aton Schander. He's

(24:22):
going to be joining us throughout agood chunk of this program. We will
obviously talk about the basketball game thatis going on. Are you sweating anything
right now? I mean, what'sgoing on? Sweating things? Okay?
I got this hockey game. Igot the under in this hockey game,
so I got eyes on that too. Plee sweating after that's health, yes,
and still still trying to find myway. I will you know what
I you brought up the hockey game. I will credit uh the the great

(24:45):
folks at odds Shopper there because Iwas looking at some of the metrics pre
game, and you know what, what do I want to do? What
do I want to bet in beton? I'm not a big anytime goal
guy. I just think that typeof thing is obviously so incredibly flukey and
unreliable. And I will tell youI'm I am definitely sweating the Rangers on

(25:07):
the money line. So that's that'sout of the question. Wow, yeah,
I take a shower. It's notmuch of a sweat for you.
Health. That's that's that's going southfor me. I didn't know the score
until I just looked it up.But I was starting to bring that up
because I played one anytime goal tonighton on the advice of odd Shopper and
looking at the projections, and thatwas Thomas Tatar. Look at you,

(25:32):
who scored a goal. Look atyou. Don't don't look at me,
look at you, an odd shopper. Well, I'm I'm I'm grateful for
your services, absolutely man. Well, here's what I do know is that
you got the best price on themarket for that, So wherever you bet
it was probably significantly better at thevery least beating penny. You know the
sharp book overseas. So you didyour you did the right job with it,

(25:55):
which is fine, the best priceif you liked that goal. And
a lot of times you can justclose your eyes and blindly bet stuff because
all right, you're getting the bestprice of it. And it just comes
down to, now, look ifyou can't blindly bet plus fifteen hundred bets,
but what were the odds on that? I'm just curious. Yeah,
I'm just I'm pulling it up totry and find it. I'm looking in

(26:15):
my settled bet slips around the themultiple Celtics related parlay losses that I suffered
tonight. Plus five hundred on theTatar goal. Oh my god, that's
a fantastic hit by you. Wellbeautiful. But I just want to point
out so again that like people aren'tfooling and thinking I might be good at
this, might be going into theovertime of the Bruins game last night,

(26:37):
and this is I talked to thefirst segment everybody about like, don't bet
with your heart. I bet smalldollars, but I bet on four or
five different anytime goal scorers in overtimeall Bruins, all Bruins, because I
couldn't stomach the idea of the Pantherswinning that game. And of course you
know, as we know, noneof them, So I can't hate the

(27:03):
strategy. It's probably minus TV,but I can't hate that strategy. That's
beautiful. Yeah. I was like, Oh, Charlie Coyle, hometown guy.
Man, Oh look at it's likeplus two thousand for Matt Grizzlick.
He'll get he'll get a couple ofshifts. Let's go with that hometown kid.
The Bergier on the captain could behis last game if they lose.
Yeah, let's do it. It'sjust so narrative street like you read about.

(27:25):
All Right, we're gonna go fora few minutes. Anyway, we'll
be back with Aton Shander talk moreabout the Celtics sixers. Look ahead the
game two lines are out and honestly, they're pretty comparable to what they were
going into Game one. We'll beback a need event about bad bets.
You've come to the right place.Tell us about it. Call six one

(27:45):
seven two six six six eight sixsix one seven two six six six eight
six eight, or if you're listeningon the iHeartRadio app. Use the talkback
button. The Gambler with Adam Kaufmanwill be right back after this on w
r KO. Need to vent aboutbad bets. You've come to the right

(28:06):
place. Tell us about it.He can call six one seven two six
six six eight six eight. That'ssix one seven two six six six eight
six eight. Or if you're listeningon the iHeartRadio app, use the top
back button. Now back to theGambler with Adam Kaufman on w r KO
for keeping an eye on the Nuggetsand Sons. It is in the second

(28:30):
quarter. Just lost out on thethird leg of a parlay because I needed
Kevin Durant to have over seven anda half points, so eight points plus
in the first quarter, and atimes familiar with that one. We were
talking about that one pre get pregameactually and unfortunately that that didn't work out
so well for either of us.Atime, ten shots at him. I

(28:51):
know he went two for nine, right nine, two for nine from the
field and over five from three lookand finished with four points. I get
it. You can't hit every singlebet, but you want to hit and
I'm saying you meaning everybody out there, not just royal you and me exactly
the collective you, which is alsoincluding me, by the way, so

(29:11):
maybe it's us, it's weed,by the way. That's final. So
anybody who at under five and ahalf can exhale in game seven like I
did. But I think you lookat something like points, anything that is
scoring in any sport, and ifyou have volume, what more can you
ask for it? Right? Likeif Durant went oh for three and didn't

(29:33):
it take a three and you lostthat bet, now it's it's like,
oh, my goodness, you gotkicked in the face, and now when
you're down, you got kicked again. At least Duran I'm with you because
I played that solo too, andmy goodness, at least he took the
shots right. The opportunity was there, right, I guess you know you
celebrate that, but well celebrate yeah, I mean it's that's a tough word,

(29:55):
but that's a good point. Whatwe're going to do, Well,
we'll hang here another couple of minutesand were just a quick segment to get
ourselves back on the clock because Ihave just been abusing the clock. But
Aton will hang out with us forthe duration of the hour. We'll give
him a little bit of a break, and then we will have more of
Aton the second hour as well.Don't want to, don't want to make
him feel like his time is notbeing well spent. But I call here

(30:19):
before we go to break. Ican see we've got let's see, EJ.
You want me to pull this up? Or do you want to pull
it up? It's good inside radiofor the people. All right, why
don't? Why don't want to?You do? It? Looks like we
got Howard on the line. Let'swelcome Howard into the show. Howard,
Hey, congratulations, if you calledus on purpose, you're the first caller
into the history of the show.Yep, hang on. EJ's just talking

(30:44):
to him real quick. Oh,we gotta we gotta screen him, screen
him first. We gotta screen himfirst, first night, first night struggles
here. Oh, I see,I thought he'd already been screened and he
was just on hold and he waswaiting. Nope. Yeah, it turns
out he's looking for Cooner. Cooner'snot on until tomorrow morning. Now up
more hours, a couple more hours. How do you guys feel about this
total? Right now? It's creepingdown closer to two hundred it's at two
o seven at the moment. Yeah, this is a really low scoring game

(31:08):
right now. We're down to twoone, two one and a half.
Right now, I'm thinking, howlow do you think it goes before you
can get some buyback on this.I'm waiting for it to get below two
hundred and then I'm thinking about reallyjumping on. I mean, these teams
are shooting so much that eventually theshots are going to fall. Right,
we have to rance three for eleven, yokis five of ten. Yokich hasn't

(31:32):
scored in the second quarter. Thiswill be something we can monitor. We
can all place a bet together.Congratulations, by the way to the New
Jersey Devils. It is official blankedNew York for nothing. I know some
Rangers fans who are going to bevery salty in the morning. New Jersey
with its first playoff series win ineleven years, by the way, to
advance to face Carolina in round two. So when Eric Hallis scored a goal

(31:55):
tonight, you know, Don Sweeneyhad a great like ten months, but
the last like two weeks have justbeen brutal. You got both Bruce Cassidy
and Eric Holder, the two peoplethat they exiled from that team last year.
No one you know, like it'swell, well, first off,
I will just say no one islaughing his ass off more than Bruce Cassidy
right now with the fact that hisVegas Golden Nights are in Round two in

(32:15):
the Bruins after an historic literally recordsetting wins points everything, you know,
so many different things over the courseof the year, record setting year for
them to go out in round onein just epic choking fashion, from leading
that thing three to one, toleading Game seven three to two with a
minute to go, and then tofall in overtime. And there's there are

(32:37):
a number of people to blame forthat that we will talk about at some
point in time maybe, but hishis replacement, Jim Montgomery. The honeymoon
is over. He's he's not gettingfired, nor should he be. But
all the celebrating all things Montgomery, that that probably came to a quick halt
with that loss. We're gonna stepaside the Gambler with Adam Kaufman and company,

(32:58):
Dan Watkins, a Ton Shander. We will all be back with you
here in just a few moments.Sick and tired of old sports talk and
want to get right into the actionThe Gambler with Adam Kaufman. As you
covered, call us now with sixone seven two six six six eight six
eight. That's six one seven twosix six six eight six eight. The

(33:19):
Gambler with Adam Kaufman will be rightback after this on w r KO.
Now back to The Gambler with AdamKaufman on six eight E w r KO
streaming live on the iHeartRadio app.Or tell your smart speaker to play w
r KO on iHeartRadio. Whoo whoo, it's an exhale. That's an exhale

(33:44):
for you, and I'll tell youwhy. My biggest bet of the night,
again, we don't need to talknumbers, but my biggest bet of
the night was not on the Celtics. Had nothing to do with the Celtics.
My biggest bet of the night wasa straight money line play on the
Houston Astros. That game has justgone final. They won seven to three

(34:04):
after a five run seventh inning, but they were down much of that game.
Their starter Luis Garcia went down aftereight pitches and it suddenly became a
bullpen game. I was stressful fora while. That was stressful for a
while, but it played out inour favor. Anyone out there that had

(34:24):
the Houston Astros also happened to havethe Stros in a parlay with the Dodgers
and Padres. Dodgers are up fournothing in that game, the Padres are
tied with the Reds. So we'llsee how that one plays out. That'll
resolve itself long after we're off theair. But thank you Astros for at
least attempting to improve some of thisevening. Aton you ever do that you

(34:50):
had Aton Schanders here with us,Aton you ever just you know, you
got all your side bets, andyou got all invested in this and this
parlay or this straight bet or thiswhatever. But there that one bet,
there's that one bet you just kindof go all in on. And it's
not even necessarily a team that youwould otherwise care about except for that three
hour period that one day that youdo it, and it totally makes or

(35:13):
breaks your mood. Absolutely it's andlook, I'm an eater. It's not
healthy, to be honest with you, No, I was just about to
make an analogy about unhealthy eating exactlyright. So yes, I'm totally on
the same page as you are.And I don't know it's definitely not healthy
mentally. It can't be healthy physically. Yet I can't get enough of something

(35:35):
like that. And you're right,I've been there where smaller unit or half
quarter what have you, bets hitside stuff. Oh it's great when you
look at the screenshot of hitting aplus five fifty home run, but you
know behind the scenes of course, that you dabble just a small sprinkle on
it. And the one that youput time and effort into, the one

(35:57):
that you spent an hour looking atdifferent numbers and actually researching some stuff as
opposed to just getting a glance ornot going to a site what have you.
That's the one that you put theunit or one and a half units,
and that's your main one, andit kills you. It kills your
night if you lose that so well. And that's the thing, like people
obsess over win loss record. Yousee it all the time on Twitter from

(36:21):
these these people that you know eitherare very established in the community or want
to be very established in the community, and it's like, here's my win
loss record. But you know, there's there's no acknowledgment of unit size,
and there are going to be anumber of jokes I'm sure nightly about unit
size here on this programs, asone would expect obviously from a betting show,
But people obsess over win loss record. Yeah, like you you want

(36:44):
to be over five hundred, Like, who the hell doesn't. But I
you know, if I look atthe end of the day, and I
make a lot of bets of varioussizes, So if I look at the
end of the day and see that, I went, like, I don't
know, nine and sixteen for agiven day, I don't care as long
as I'm in the green, right, That's that's all that matters. As

(37:06):
long as I'm in the green,I don't care about the win loss record.
I mean, it's like, atleast it's not going to keep me
up at night totally with you,and it's such an underread and maybe that
just doesn't transfer well in social mediacircles. But yes, to your point,
the units are always what you're upI've seen it too, especially for
people that are betting Parley's right.Think about that, where if you're betting

(37:29):
Parleys, or you're putting together thesesix leg moonshots, right, and a
couple of them hit, your recordis going to be atrocious when you look
at it. But if you hitthree or four of these for you know,
thirty five to one, fifty toone, one hundred to one,
what if you hit a home runParley in Mexico City, for instance,

(37:50):
everybody on Saturday, Yes, theywere smart enough to play it. They
did seriously talk about a market correctionon Sunday. Sick and tired of old
boards talk and want to get rightinto the action. The Gambler with Adam
Kaufman, as you covered, callus now with six one seven two six
six six eight six eight. That'ssix one seven two six six six eight

(38:13):
six eight. The Gambler with AdamKaufman will be right back after this on WRK O
