Speaker 1 (00:02):
Sweat your bets with Boston's only nightly betting.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Show, Gambling. I try to keep the gambling to animal.
How do you do that?
Speaker 1 (00:12):
But being good at the Gambler with Adam Kaufman streaming
live on the iHeartRadio app me a moment, subscribe to
the podcast. Back to Adam Kaufman and Dan Watkins.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
We have college basketball throughout the month of March. As
we know, conference tournaments are underway. It is just a
very exciting time of the year for us junkies of basketball,
especially if you love yourself some college hoops, as we
certainly do on this show. We've been joined regularly of
late by members of the Sports Gambling podcast Network and
(00:54):
that does not change now as we welcome on our
friend Ryan McIntyre, who is on Twitter money Line Underscore
Mac to get into a healthy slate in front of
us on Thursday and maybe mixing some futures over the
next couple of segments and of course build out eight
people's parlay as well. Ryan, How are you.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Man, Adam, I'm good man. How are you doing doing well?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
It's been an interesting day. It's been a pretty chalky day,
which I am not upset about by any means any
surprises for you.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
No, yeah, no surprises. I mean the only really upset.
I guess you could say Oklahoma staying alive there. The
bubble teams in the SEC keep fighting ways to win,
whether it's Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, and Arkansas. The last couple
of nights, Florida made another statement on the road, and
then De Paul actually getting a big road win in
(01:48):
the Big East over Providence was a little bit of
a shocker.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
Ryan albat that was so good for us. Yeah, no,
I wasn't we lost on that. We just have them
the money line. But I want to talk about Alabama
here quickly before we get into tomorrow's late should if
you have any stock in the Crimson Tide, should you
be looking to sell it right now? A really rough
couple of games here between that ending in Knoxville over
the weekend and then pretty much trailing Florida wired a
(02:12):
wire here today and allowing the Gators to come into
Tuscalosa and pick up a victory.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Uh yeah, I probably would say that. I don't really
buy them as a national championship contender like the Auburns,
like the Floridas and Tennessee. I know they've played them tough,
but they just had too many defensive deficiencies. And I
know we said that last year and they were able
to get to the Final four. But ultimately, I think
that you've got to be able to get stops consistently
(02:41):
in March. And I think outside of the North Carolina
game in the Sweet sixteen last year, they had a
really favorable draw, so as much experience as they brought
back with Sears and Nelson and those guys, they just
have lacked consistency in my opinion, and they're actually going
to be a team I'll be looking to fade come March.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Let's look toward tomorrow as there is only one ranked
team in action, Michigan State and Iowa. Michigan State the
number eight team at Iowa six and a half point
favorite in this one. No surprise that people are attacking
the money line in this one, although when it comes
to betting the spread, there are many more looking toward
Iowa to cover. But look, this is not a meaningless game.
(03:22):
I'm Michigan State opportunity to clinch the Big Ten title.
What do you see in this one is is six
and a half too big? A number because keep in mind,
this is also a squad that has been going out
five straight wins five and zero against the spread in
that span. One of those wins fewer than nine points.
So they're really, you know, taking on teams and cutting
(03:44):
them down a peg along the way.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, I'm all over iowaan the point, this could be
Fran McCaffrey's Senior Night, I guess in a way in
Iowa City. I know he said that he would like
to come back. I don't know if him and the
university was up mutually party ways. But it's not a
meaningless game at all. I mean, Michigan State has a
chance to clinch the Big ten outright tomorrow with Michigan
(04:09):
going down to Maryland. But Iowa look over the years
mccaffers teams have played in those teams, well, they do
a good job of countering Michigan State's defensive spread. You
out with all these shooters, So I like Iowa and
Senior Night to keep it within that six and a half.
And I know this is gonna sound crazy, but not
shock me. If I WA picked off sparty and a
little bit of a sleepy look ahead spot to the
(04:32):
Michigan game the end of the year on ced your
Dale Subday.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Guys, we got afternoon basketball tomorrow. Arch Madness gets going
the Missouri Valley Conference. The eight to nine game is
a one o'clock Eastern tip. We got SIU Southern Illinois
taking on Indiana State.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Ryan.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
This game's basically a pick them here. These two teams
just met over the weekend and Indiana State wiped the floor.
Then they won by eighteen. So what's going on in
this one?
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah? Absolutely blissome from the tip, and the Sulukies kind
of rests some guys there in the second half. I
think that they already knew their fate. We did playing
in the eight nine game. Scott n Aggie, a veteran
coach there coming over for Wright State. I do like
the Sulukies and the bouts back here. I think they're
laying a point a point and a half. You want
(05:18):
to shop around for a reason. They've been a little
bit more consistency, but they did they did leak a
little bit of oil down the stretch. But I think
a breath of fresh air new postseason here at Archsbadness.
I like the Sulukies in that veteran group.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Staying with well, let's let's go to the West Coast
Conference attorney here San Diego, and I.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Knew you were here.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Yeah, I mean, it's just a nice weird game. A
couple hours after that one five thirty games, ten to
eleven matchup. In terms of seating anyway, Pacific is the
narrow favorite, but this is one of those cases where
you know, again like one and a half point favorite,
think they're gonna win. Weird things happen, but generally I
(06:03):
would just advise people take the spread as opposed to
minus one twenty five on the money line. Do you
like Pacific to hold serve?
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I actually like San Diego. San Diego's covered the last
four games of the season, and Steve Lavin they just
announced that he will be back next year, so I
think maybe a little bit of a bump kind of
come into this tournament playing free. They did win their
last game of the season. They've been bitten by injuries,
but I think they were able to reinvent themselves over
the last couple of weeks. I know they lost to
(06:34):
lost those games, but still a seven point loss to Wazu,
nine point loss of Organzator, and then they beat Portland. I
think they're gonna knock off Pacific and I'll take Lavin here.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
In the s gime, let's head back to a regular
season game in the American Conference, guys, Tulane Eastern Carolina,
East Carolina rather the Pirates Ryan Lane three and a half,
four and a half. The line's a little different depending
on the book that you're looking at.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Here.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Can Tulane go and pick up this win on the road?
Can they hover?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
What?
Speaker 4 (07:00):
What do you make of this matchup?
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I like ECU. Eachu's actually won five out of six
and they're only lost in that time. Was it too
late in a close game? I like the I'll take
the revenge angle here. I think EACHU has been able
to find themselves. R J. Felton, T. J. Walker talented
senior duo here. So I like Schwartz's group, but I
think this is a team that could surprise some teams
(07:23):
in the AAC tournament.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
I'll take us to the Sun Belt Conference here. We've
got eight to nine Georgia Southern Georgia State here in
this contest, and just looking at the odds real quick,
it's jumping on.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
I don't think it's up yet.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
I don't know if it's out yet.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah, we may not, may not have a line for
it yet. I think you're right. Well, nevertheless, you have
a feel on who wins outside of you know, obviously
we know it'll be a tight spread, but any feeling
on who comes away victorious and moves on.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
This is a great game because these two teams don't
like each other at all. It's a nice ride down there.
They did just play the final game of the regular season,
Southern was able to edge him out by one. Earlier
in the year, State beats them at overtime by four.
So I think it is going to be a one
possession game. So whoever they list probably as the dog.
If I'm getting two and a half, maybe three points
(08:16):
with one side, I'll probably lead to the dog there.
So I just think that we'll get a very competitive
game between two familiar foes.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
So I think it's going to be a really fun
fun night in the Horizon League tomorrow, guys, quarterfinal matchups.
I believe these are on campus judging by the start
times here, let's start off with Milwaukee and Oakland. Milwaukee
the Panthers laying six points. It's ticked up a little
bit from the five and a half where it opened.
Who do you like in this matchup?
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this tournament tomorrow, And
there's always been upsets in this tournament. Milwaukee's been knocking
on the door to win this tournament. Last year they
got to the finals and then ultimately came up short
to Gains that Oakland team that beat Kentucky the NCAA Tournament.
I like Milwaukee. I think Milwaukee's been the best team
in this league. They had a couple of injuries midway
(09:05):
through conference play, they got sized, they got experienced Barloe,
he's a really good coach from his time in d
two Days at Queen's Year three here, I think the
time is now for the Panthers to make a statement
and dethrown the chance. So all lay to six with
Milwaukee year.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Actually, Patriot League guys, there are multiple games going on
the Patriot League Conference tomorrow. Lafayette American. I keep looking
at this game. Americans three and a half point favored
in this one. It's a team that look neither team
is great, I realize, but American nine and four in
games that it has been favored, Lafayette is just three
(09:43):
and fourteen in games as an underdog, so more often
than not when it comes to these two teams, you
know the it plays out as it's supposed to. Basically
just a function of again, are we comfortable laying three
and a half?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
I mean, feels like a very short number in my opinion,
which makes me want to side with the Leopards here.
I am a big fan this time of year, in
these high pressure mid major tournaments of taking the dog
when the team already has a game under their belt.
I think that they got the jitters out they're used
to playing in the postseason. Compared to American who won
(10:20):
the Patriot League for the first time in over a decade, celebrated,
had a good time over the weekend. I think it's
a little bit of a quick turn. I think we
get a one possession games. I'll take Lofaiette.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Here back to the Horizon League. The late game, I
guess for at least the last game on the schedule
here is Northern Kentucky and Cleveland State. This line's at
four and a half right now. Ryan, Northern Kentucky red
hot at the moment, they've won at least five in
a row here. They're getting four and a half points.
But Cleveland State's been really good at home this season,
(10:51):
thirteen and four straight up just seven and seven to
the number here. These two teams played twice this year,
both times the home team won by double digits. Does
that trend continue in this one tomorrow?
Speaker 3 (11:02):
I don't think so. The north have always found a
way under Darren Horne to pop up in this tournament.
Seems like they always get to eat in the final
four in the championship game, and they play a funky
zone and I think that this group had just took
a minute to get get it going. They were ford
to seven in the league. Play them one, what seven
out of nine down the stretch. They're the hottest team
in this league. I think that they're gonna knock off
(11:24):
Cleveland State, who is over chieved throughout the year. So
give me the Norths to find some March Madness magic
again here in the Horizon Tournament.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
We've got much more with the money line mac Ryan
McIntyre here from SGPN again a people's parlay on the
way as well, So hang with us, We'll be right back.
We've got Ryan McIntyre here from the Sports Gambling Podcast Network,
Will build out a people's parlay coming up in just
(11:57):
a little bit as well. Let's go to the I
know we're bouncing around like crazy between these conference tournaments
part of the fun of this week in March and
the next week as well. But let's see which one
did I have in front of me here North Alabama
and Jacksonville. This contest is a where is the spread
on this one? North Alabama is a five and a
(12:18):
half point favorite here in this game and total as
well of one forty two and a half. If you know,
as much as people are betting the favorite North Alabama,
people are really hammering that total, so I would expect
it to move some overnight to the over Where do
you lean on this game?
Speaker 3 (12:39):
I love this tournament and I can't wait for both
of these semi final games. Let's come Queens and then
North Alabama Jacksonville. If you remember, this was the tournament
that had all the chaotic finishes last year, A buzzer beater,
thirty footers, forty footers. I think we get another instant
classics here in North Alabama got their season ended last
(13:01):
year by Austin piece, so that was a big time
circle game for them. The other night, and their crowd responded,
it will be a lit environment here down there in Florence.
Tony Poohol is an unbelievable job. They got a really
good guard in Jakari Lane. But I think Patrick mccrarrie
here and the Dolphins are going to hang in this thing.
You're ghitting me five and a half points. I think
(13:22):
we getting into classic. I'll take the points.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
It's just so many options tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
I mean, I know I'm lost in the board. All right.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
How about Liberty in Middle Tennessee. This this game's basically
a pick them here, two really good teams in the
CUSA Ryan Mid Tennessee's favored by one and a half
at home.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Yeah, Liberty, I mean really gave away a golden opportunity
on Sunday, dropped their game. Now they hit the road
to Murphy's borrow. This game is gonna be from the
TC to Conference Usay. I actually like Liberty here. I
like taking teams that kind of lay in the egg
and home as a bit seventy or nine to ten
point favorite, and then they hit the road as in
a short underdog. I think it's a little bit of
(14:06):
a fotsful spot. Richie McKay's a good coach. I think
they rally the troops and I think Liberty gets it
done here.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
This game's basically a pick them. You know, both teams
are minus money and that's Wichita State and Rice. With
Wichita State lay in one here in this one, it's
just how much better are the Shockers really? Because you
know some of the stuff that I read about this game,
the expectation is like one point? How is this only
one point? You know, Wichita State is going to win
(14:33):
this thing by double figures. They're going to overwhelm on
both sides of the basketball. What do you think.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
If we're going off the I tests, then I think
which tass should absolutely roll them. But to your point,
this line makes no sense. This kind of is the
game that reaches tonight Senior Knight for Rice. But Rice
has been a little bit fisty at home. I mean,
they've hung with Memphis, they've hung with North Texas. Something
tells me Rice is going to pick them all off
(15:00):
here in a crazy game. So I'll stay away from
this one. But if I had to pick a side,
I'd pick Rice with the line being that's short.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
So Ryan, I use a model for Betting College Basketball,
and I'm just going to give you its favorite play
for tomorrow. I want you. I'm curious what your thoughts are.
It loves Fairfield taking the points at Sianna tomorrow plus
eight and a half. The Stags have won actually the
last three meetings between these two schools. What do you
make of this matchup?
Speaker 3 (15:25):
Yeah, the only thing I don't like it with Fairfield
is they are not the same team when they hit
the road. But I do agree with you. I like
Fearfield of the spot. Danna should not be lay eight
and a half points. I've been touching up and down team.
They play a bunch of close games. So I do
agree with your bhuddle over there and I'll take the points.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
You know, It's it's not a tournament game, but it's
a team that I've just really enjoyed following of late.
I'm not going to pretend to know a whole lot
about them other than we have a team that is
just superior defensively and just stingy on that end against
a team that doesn't shoot particularly well, which to me
feels like a recipe for a comfortable win. I'm talking
(16:06):
about UC Irvine against UC Davis where Irvine, the road
team is a six and a half point favorite. Do
you like the ant Eaters to cover here?
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Yeah? I do like the Eaters. They've been a little
bit up and down for my liking, but I think
that this time come March, Russell Turner's groups always find
the way to start playing their best basketball. So yeah,
give me Irvine here latest six and a half. I
think they are the superior team that have the superior
size as well.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
So Wright State has been a very frustrating team. They
have cost me a lot of money down the stretch
here as they've been favored, and I've just had them
in some like moneyline parlays and they can't even seem
to do that. I mean, this is the team that
lost by eleven points to Doug Gottlieb in Green Bay.
They take on Robert Morris tomorrow night. They're getting six
and a half here. Which way you going in this matchup?
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Yeah, I'm with you man. Wright State Clint Margin has
been extremely frustrating, but Robert Morris has been an unbelievable story.
They come in winners of fourteen out of fifteen, they
somehow win. They come out of nowhere, really win this League.
Nobody saw that coming. They were preseason like last. I
think Right State has arguably just as good a roster.
(17:18):
So I'll take the team that already played a game,
and it would not shock me if Wright State. You
see this every year where a team frustrates you all year,
but then they get to the postseason and their talent
finally rises to the top. So give me Right State
of that unique style of offense that they run to pick
off Robert Morris.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Here, Utah Valley able and Christian. I don't think we've
touched on this one among the dozens of games tomorrow.
Utah Valley's three and a half point favorite enters this
game riding six straight wins twenty one and seven overall,
thirteen and one conference play. Latest game nearly doubled up
Southern Utah one hundred to fifty nine. Do you expect
(17:56):
the trend to continue here?
Speaker 3 (18:01):
I don't. I've actually been on Ablie Christian quite a bit. Here.
They startedly playing one to six and they've won six
out of seven. Coming down the stretch here, I think
that they found their identity Defensively, They're always really good
at home, so I think their physicality could really bother
Utah Valley here. So I'm on a hope dogs here
on t your day, So.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
I might as well ask you about the one remaining
game in the Horizon Tournament that we haven't touched on yet.
Youngstown State favored by two and a half against Purdue
Fort Wayne. This game is within a possession. Expecting a
close game here, what do you think?
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yes? And I like Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne was actually
the preseason to take to win this league, and they've
kind of underachieved twelve and eighth. They've lost four to
five coming down the stretch, but the talent's there, the
expirits is there. I think that they rally here. John
Kaufman's had success in this event. Young Town's going to
the first year head coach at Ethan Falter. So I
do like the experience here with Fort Wayne to get
(18:55):
it done.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
We've thrown a lot of games that you obviously are
you know, there are so many we haven't hit. You
can feel free to save your absolute favorite play for
the people's parlay, and we do that in a few moments.
But some other spots games that we haven't asked you about,
which ones jump out at you as ones that you've
already locked in on your card.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
I'm a big underdogs guy this time of the year,
and especially when we get to archibandits. So I do
like a pair of dogs that I got circled here.
I like Missouri State getting five and a half against
Illinois State, and I like Evansville as well getting five
and a half against Murray Murray and Illinois State. Yes,
both talented, both of it very up and down by
(19:38):
Missouri State, Quanta Martin. I think that David Chippy is
an underdog and then David Raglan as well. They have
seemed to found something over the last nine ten games here,
and I think they're a little bit more consistent here
coming into the tournament than Murray State.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
I saw you were posting a bunch of futures earlier
today on Twitter, Ryan any that really what's your favorite
for future when it comes to these conference tournaments this week?
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (20:04):
I think I would probably go with Little Rock in
the OBC kind of continue by theme here. I like
taking the teams that had had the preseason expectations underachieved
and and then they're coming back breath fresh air, new season,
and and and they lock in to win three games
in three days. I like Little Rock in the OBC.
(20:25):
They were supposed to be by far the best team.
They they kind of hit They hit a little bit
of a wall when they had a bad tornado that
kind of threw their season out of fuck and dropped
some home games because they had to play them on
neutral sites. So I like them in the OBC. Another
one I do like. I like Colgate and the Patriot
I mean Death Texas. Colgate they always win that league
and then another one, uh, this tournament has started here tonight.
(20:47):
I like the jack Rabbits three to one out there
in the Summit Day. Eric Henderson does a phenomenal job.
It's been a younger group, but they've got him better
and better throughout the year. So I like the jack Rabberts, Colgate,
and Little Rock for my three futures that have already
started their tournaments.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
You know, Ryan, we spend a lot of time on
narratives this time a year. A big one that we've
discussed plenty this week, and you've mentioned it a couple
of times as well, is senior Night for some of
these less heralded schools where their stars are their seniors. Obviously,
these smaller programs any that you I don't know are
(21:26):
are more confidently not necessarily blind betting, but more confidently
riding than others.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
That's a good question. I haven't really thought about that.
In death. I usually try to identify some of the
older teams that I do know, Like North Alabama was
a team that has grown together over the years. Saint
Thomas is another team. They already had their senior days.
I like to I like to back the senior day
teams that are in either a pick them or or
(21:57):
a short underdog, but it's like they're laying big numbers.
I sometimes sick that senior day could go get you
a little bit, just because you're not as focus, you're
expected to win. Sometimes you see it. I remember JJ
Reddick once upon a time he was still crying while
the ball was being kissed on his senior day. So
it could go both ways. I don't think I blindly
(22:20):
bet senior days, but it definitely is an interesting aggle.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
All right, why don't we get to the people's parlay
fellas and just to we always like to provide the data,
let people know how they're doing, for better or worse.
And some you know, there's a stark difference between the
two you haven't been part of as many, though you
are too, and zero on official show plays that you
have given us so perfect knock on wood. So far,
(22:47):
the people's parlay has split one and one. If I
remember right, we hit the last one. So let's see
if we can make it too straight here. What are
you going to give us as a favorite play?
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Yeah, no pressure, let's go. I'm gonna go Iowa. The
first game you guys talked about. I talked about the
experience and the track record of McCaffrey's teams in Iowa City.
Bothering is those teams as this party. I know, Sparty,
all they gotta do is win the game and they
win the Big Ten tournament or Big Ten regular season.
(23:19):
But this is college basketball, this is March, and weird
things happened. So give me Iowa here plus six and
a half. I think that they keep the same close
and maybe even pull off a Hawkeye miracle once to
get against Sparty Dan.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
So I'm taking this to the Atlantic Sun, guys, and
I'm gonna go Una North Alabama minus five and a
half here. The model thinks this line should be a
little over seven, and you and a has been tremendous
against the number at home this season, twelve and two
against the spread. They're fifteen and one straight up. This
game is on campus tomorrow. As Ryan was mentioning, they
(23:55):
probably have a bitter taste in their mouth after losing
in this tournament last season. This is the team that
I would think does have NCAA tournament aspirations if they
can win this conference tournament here. So let's go with
Northern Alabama to win this game by at least six points.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
For me, I mentioned it before, I'm liking what I'm
seeing out of the Anteaters. I'm gonna back UC Irvine
to cover in this one minus six and a half
against UC Davis, who, at least on paper, feels like
the inferior squad, So we're gonna take them. Brian's been
shopping around the parlay. We've got a few options, but
it comes down to this. Iowa's plus six and a
half everywhere, So it's either a bigger number for me
(24:32):
or a bigger number for Dan. I'm guessing Dan, you
prefer the five and a half to the six and
a half. Yeah, which is perfectly fine, And I feel
the same way about Irvine. Six and a half versus
seven and a half. So that puts US at FanDuel
plus five sixty two. Still a nice meati parlay, but
just to share the options in case anyone out there
wants to be a little more cavalier plus six h
(24:52):
six on MGM if you take North Alabama at minus
six and a half, ESPN plus six point thirty if
we want to go Una minus five and a half
but Irvine minus seven and a half. So again, big
differences out there, depending on how big a swing you
guys want to take or what boosts you may have available. Again,
FanDuel is where we will lock in though, plus five
(25:14):
sixty two for this people's parlay. Let's see if we
can do it again.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Ryan, Let's go, baby, I can't wait. I appreciate you
guys having me and it's good to have the madness back.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Amen. Man, It's fun, fun week, fun fun month. Ryan
McIntyre Sports Gambling podcast Network on Twitter at Moneyline, Underscore Mac.
We will come on back and mix in some more
college hoops as well as some NFL after the movement
today across the league. We'll be back our thanks again
(25:50):
to Ryan McIntire Sports Gambling podcast Network if you missed it,
the People's Parlay just loaded into the Action app. That
is plus five sixty two on FanDuel, North Alabama minus
five and a half, Iowa Planet plus six and a half,
and you see Irvine minus six and a half. One
thing I do want to mention, though, and we very
(26:11):
rarely do this, that the guest Dan me, we all
like a play and yet nobody uses it in the
People's Parlay. Is that a sign to either use or
void take it however you want. Should we make Milwaukee
to cover a group play for tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (26:29):
I mean I'm on them personally so we can. Yeah,
I mean, if everybody likes it, it sounds I'm.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
In favor of it. Sure, Yeah, all right, so we
add it? Very good? Yeah, I considered it. I actually
I was happy with your North Alabama play because that
was one of the ones I was looking at as well. So,
you know, confirmation bias if you will, hopefully, but yeah,
that's yeah, I mean, hope hopefully it works. I don't
admittedly feel as awesome about the Iowa play.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
But well, that McCaffrey angle.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
I'm not going to pretend to know what Ryan knows,
you know, Ryan's much much credit than I am.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
It's like an encyclopedia. I mean, and it doesn't matter
what game we threw out him. He had something.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
I mean, no it and it always incresib for our
listeners who who may not even think about this or
you know, it's like because I I do. It's rare.
But but there there are some guests that come on
and say, you know, hey, what are we going to
be talking about? And it may be it might just
be as simple as like you're coming on to talk
NBA and like that's enough, but it may be like
(27:31):
what games do you want to hit right just so?
And and it's like, I there's no, I take no
issue with that question. They're they're asking that because they
want to be prepped and they want to be knowledgeable
on you know, and not stammer and stutter and go,
you know on something.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
I typically when I go on another show like yeah specifics.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Yeah, so that like it's it's it's not uncommon. But
what really impresses me about like you know, I'll just
I'll shout out the SGPN guys, you know what it's
especially in the colin or or you know, Ryan Kramer,
who was On or Sean Green like all these guys,
and this is true of a bunch of the college guys,
but where there are truly like dozens upon dozens of
(28:10):
games that we could throw at these guys, and they
don't ask a single question. It's just like, yeah, let's
talk college hoops and and we'll throw them a game.
And like you said, just encyclopedia encyclopedic, you know, memory
when it comes to this stuff, or knowledge when it
comes to the stuff. And I'm I'm I'm envious. I'm appreciative,
but also envious of this stuff.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Yeah, no, I feel the exact same way. I mean,
it's it's it's incredible, and I hope our listeners truly
enjoy it as much as we do. I mean, it's
just it's awesome. I think it's made me a better
sports fan and sports viewer and on top of you know,
hopefully impacting my betting slips in a positive way.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Without a doubt. And and you know, not to this,
this is just a little we don't I don't think
we do this often, so I'm gonna do it. It's a
little pat on the back for for us, like as
a show. One thing that I do really because social media,
as we've hit on, is such an ugly space in general,
but has become increasingly so in the sports betting space.
(29:09):
And there are there are some accounts. I'm sure you
see this on your like Twitter for you feed because
you probably don't follow these people. I don't follow these people,
but they just they keep showing up on my timeline
on the for you page, you know, because we talk
gambling and so here's some gambling stuff. It's all these
people that are chastising, like they'll they'll be like rankings
of like worst sports gambling you know shows or just
(29:34):
handicappers or touts or whatever that you know, ranking them
and like, you know, you I won't name names, but
you guys out there listening probably know who some of
them are or assume who some of them are. And
that's fine. I'm happy to say we haven't shown up
on these lists yet. Maybe it's coming. But what I
do really like is, you know, the general complaint is,
(29:56):
you know, and will remove like the people who sell
picks out of the equation, which I'm not judging them,
like go make a living. You know, if you're profitable,
you're profitable as long as you're not scamming people, like
you know, there are people that discords that I'm in
that charge that you know, if I'm blind tailing somebody
and they're making me money, like you're earning your money too, Like,
(30:17):
go for it. It's no issue. But the complaints that
a lot of people will have are about shows or
people that just here's a play, here's a play, here's
a play. Here's a play, and never talk through the
process of what led them to that play right, and
if if there is one thing, like we may not
get everything right. In fact, we don't get everything right.
(30:40):
But at the very least you out there listening are
armed with all of the information as to whether you
want to follow or fade whatever it is that we
are giving you that we are on as a show.
We you know, we outline all the We like this
because you know, it's like the state your Case segment
that we do. You know now in the old opening hour,
(31:00):
you know, join us or don't. But here's the reason
behind it. You know. I I gave out uh the
Malik Beasley under five and a half rebounds plus assists
as a play to consider tonight. I didn't love it.
I liked it. You guys were a little you know,
apprehensive about it, so we didn't play it well. At halftime,
(31:23):
Malik Beasley has zero rebounds plus assists.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
He's also zero points.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Yeah, he's but he's played. He's just been a non factor.
So you know, at the moment, had you know, like
zoobots last night for Brian, at the moment, had we
played it, we'd be in great shape.
Speaker 4 (31:39):
That's gonna start. If this is what's gonna happen with it,
this might scrap.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
We're gonna start tracking the non place. But but that's okay,
Like that's that's just part of the process, and I
I like that it's part of the process. Quite frankly,
it was like, we don't. I never expect us to
hit everything. You're not supposed to hit everything. If this
were easy, everybody would do it. But I like that
we are at least attempting to educate and entertain along
(32:04):
the way. Anyway, some football. So we spent some time
yesterday with Brady and ourselves just discussing the all right
deepos ambuel to Washington, Cooper cups available, DeVante Adams is available,
all these guys. Well, I mentioned earlier the changes in
Seattle like good luck. You know Smith, you got JSN
and right now, that's about it. DK Metcalf wants out
(32:25):
unless he changes his mind. Tyler Lockett is gone. You
mentioned Mike Ui, Christian Kirk available. You know, Brandon Ayuk.
There are all these reports of the Patriots targeting him.
I even saw, not that I, you know, trust this account,
but I saw one account that was like, you know,
Ayuk is is in New England and talking with the
team and taking a physical you know, all that stuff.
(32:47):
So like it's silly season. I get it. But anyone
out there in terms of realistic targets that you are
ready for the Pats to go and pounce up, Well.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
Last night I told you dream lest A is aj Brown.
If that somehow became a thing, Matthew Berry tight night, I.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
Think dream is the right word. I don't think it's happening.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
I think just below dream it's not you know, I
don't think it's a full fantasy land one, but definitely
going to be a reach is DK Metcalf. I think
that'd be awesome. I don't really, I don't know. I
don't like him as a wide receiver one for some reason.
I just I never really have those San Francisco receivers.
I mean, Deebo is awesome, Ayuk is a great you know,
(33:32):
he's a good player, don't get me wrong. But I
feel like they're just all like parts of a machine
that just all function together really well. And if you
were to take Ayuk and put him on another team
and make him the number one there, I don't like
him as much as I do in that San Francisco offense,
so I'm a little off on him. Godwin, I think
would be Godwin would probably be the most realistic right now,
(33:54):
just because he's going to be available and all the
pachers have to do is write a check now if
they want. Whether or not they do that is the
is the next part of that equation. But that would
definitely be be interesting. And then I don't think lock
it sounds like Locke, it's all but surely going to
Vegas to reading night with Pete Carroll so right, and
he's well into his thirties at this point as well too.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah. I mean, look, everyone in one form or another
is damaged goods. That's why they're available. Whether it's because
they're coming off an unproductive year, they're a little old
they are, you know, they they there's personality issue and
they're requesting a trade. They're coming off an injury. Like
if if guys were happy and productive and good, they'd
(34:36):
still be on their teams. So we get it, like
you're you're not getting a perfect situation here, but it
just spoils. You got to do something. And you know,
Brian and I were talking during the break at one
point earlier, you know, like would for the people out there,
I would have taken Deebo Samuel for a fifth round pick.
And and you know I was watching TV and one
of the one of the on the scroll, one of
(34:58):
the talking points was, you know, Joe Toney traded for
a fourth round pick. I wouldn't take Joe Toney for
a fourth round pick. But it's just you're in a rebuild,
all right, Like at the moment, you suck, and so
you know, you like you can go get this guy
for a fourth, Go get this guy for a fifth,
Go get like these these older players that have done
something in the league that may not at this stage.
And yeah, the draft is a crapshoot, but you're giving
(35:20):
away your picks, like the only the only way this
is true of any team short of just I don't
know signing a huge dude in free agency. The only
way that you rebuild successfully in the NFL is through
the draft, which is why the Patriots are where they
are quite frankly, you know, because they generally have not
drafted well in a decade and that so you know
(35:43):
you're gonna wind up at the bottom of the league.
You take as many shots as you possibly can. Trade,
get more picks, more kicks of the can. It's your
only hope. So I don't need to trade for established guys,
but money signing guys. Throw the money everyone overpay. I
don't care. You got the cash space to do it.
(36:03):
We'll come on back. Arnold Palmer Invitational Tease Off tomorrow.
We've got Joe Place to give out. We got to
be quick, We've only got a minute. Brian start us off,
