Speaker 1 (00:00):
What is going on, miss Sean? Pretty well, Happy Wednesday
morning to you. Good sir September. I mean, the leaves
are changing, it's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It's a great time of year. One of our coworkers
brought in a bill pail of cherry tomatoes. So we're
living the good life right.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Now with my very favorite I have a confession shown. Okay,
as a teenager, I would run over to my neighbor's garden,
you know, late hours of the night, and he and
my brother would steal cherry tomatoes.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
I guarantee I'm convicted.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
These years later, you're past the statue of limitations. I
guarantee on that. I am a feeling. Your neighbor probably
knew and probably absolutely loved it.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
You probably saw I was like, yeah, for.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Real, there is nothing more wholesome than we used to.
We used to do the same, did I say, Did
I say, oh yeah, Oh no, Okay, I know what
I'm saying. I know what's going on. I swear tim
I get distracted by I get by a big veggiesus.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
More cherry tomatoes in general.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, we're going to talk about talking about really really tasty,
healthy options. Some of the cool stuff you're doing at
the store at the Healthy Place. So we talk with
Tim and Brian. Of course he comes to us from
the Healthy Place of online find your Healthy Place dot com.
Let's find your Healthy Place dot com. Maybe you're on Facebook,
maybe you're on Instagram, hopefully you're on both, or maybe
you're on YouTube as well. Definitely make sure you're heading

(01:24):
over to the Healthy Place channels, whether it's a YouTube channel.
A lot of really cool videos up there, Instagram, some
great stuff posted regularly there as well as on Facebook. Again,
that's for the Healthy Place and their social media. The
best thing to do is a great data stop on
in west side of Madison, Fitchburg or some Prairie locations.
Speaking of the Fitchburg location, Tim is in store on Wednesdays,

(01:45):
that's today from ten until five ten this morning until
five this afternoon. And Tim talking about healthy tasty snacks.
One of the great things you guys are doing in stores.
You got the grab and go, you got the really
really great healthy options, whether it's whether it's.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Snacks or drinks, bars, snacks. You know, it's hard to
eat healthy in general, and the other challenge is that
it's expensive to eat drink healthy snacks and drinks and
so our whole grab and go section, I want to
sort of say this every single week because it's to me,
it's exciting, and our customers have been thankful, grateful for it.

(02:21):
So all of our grab and go items are like
at our cost, and so that's you know South forty bars,
you know, a Loha Bars, Scout Bars, Go Macro bars, drinks,
you know, there's organic clean energy, fuel energy, natural drinks, kombucha,
electrolyte drinks, you know, all at our cost. And we're

(02:41):
doing that for a couple of reasons. Like I said,
from a business side of things, it's just always healthy
to have foot traffic. So I think it's important for
the community to know, hey, you're still helping us by
taking advantage of this, and you can come in get
cases of this stuff for you your family. It's been
really fun for us. So we're just ordering like pallettes
of this stuff on and the selling it at our

(03:02):
cost and the smiles that it's bringing in is pretty
cool because it's significantly I had a guy, you know,
run around town just because I want to make sure, like, okay,
is our costs really that much lower than anywhere else
that people can buy it, and we you know, stopped
at seven or eight different locations sort of competitors or
the other grocery stores or this or that, just to
get an understanding of price points and ours are you know,

(03:24):
somewhere between twenty and fifty percent lower anywhere else in town.
So it just makes it easier. We want to lower
that hurdle to eat healthy, drink healthy. And of course
if you have any questions around supplements, et cetera, we're
there for you. So that's something that we're super pumped.
We started that last month.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
That is amazing that you guys are able to do that.
And of course you talk about value and costs. Seems
to be kind of the running theme this morning is
to talk about what value you know, can place a
cost on your health. But then to have these being
sold that cost. What an amazing opportunity for folks. It's
a great to get on in West side of Madison,
Fitchburg or sun Prairie location of the Health Place, Healthy Place.

(04:03):
Don't forget. Tim is at the Fitchburg location on Wednesdays.
Today is Wednesday from ten until five. And Tim, I
know you love seeing folks and you've really really embraced
and loved getting back into the store, haven't you.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Oh, man, dude.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
So, for those that don't know, twenty ten is when
we open the store, and through the end of twenty nineteen,
I worked like six days a week inside our stores.
And then the CBD boom sort of created a growth
for us that led me to a point of being overwhelmed,
and I stepped out of the stores at that point
over to our office in Fitchburg, trying to figure out
the challenges and where we're going and people all that

(04:41):
sort of stuff. And so five years later, I'm like, man,
I miss the stores. I miss connection with you know, individuals.
There's hundreds of faces that I would think of that
I journeyed with. My favorite part of this Sean has
always been the people. It's always been the community. It's
the specific life changes that happen when somebody comes in
to your store sort of broken. Their energy is down

(05:03):
or their pain is high, they're not sleeping, and I
get to introduce a couple natural alternatives that work. They
come back six weeks later, give a high five, and
it's working for them. And those are life changing, you know,
micro or macro changes are all changes. That can either
bring you into a positive direction or a negative direction.
So everything Becky and I have been doing since twenty

(05:24):
ten has been centered around how can we create greater
impact and for me right now, both personal fulfillment and
wanting to engage in my community. That's an important agenda item.
So every Wednesday you can count on me being at
the Fitchburg store from ten till five. Today is actually
eleven to five. I'm racing over there a little bit
later eleven to five. But yeah, even if you haven't

(05:45):
been in in a little bit, but just to come
give me a high five, say hello.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
I want to hear how you're doing. It's the best
part of my job and that would bring some joy.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Get on in again. He'll be there from eleven until
five to the Fitchburg location. Wellness consultants as well West
Side of Madison, Fitchburg and Sun Prairie kind of the
original wellness consultant, Tim O'Brien at the Fitchburg location also
available with those wellness consults to start a conversation online
at find your Healthy Place dot com Let's find your
Healthy place dot com. Speaking of being online, you can
also email Tim at find your Healthy place. That's Tim

(06:15):
Tim at find your Healthy place dot com. As a
matter of fact, Lily took the time to email and
message the show says, after many years of taking birth
control pills, I've decided to stop using them. I'm tired
of being on hormonal treatments and want to explore non
hormonal alternatives. What steps can I take to help my
body detox from years of taking the birth control pills?

(06:38):
And that email from Lily.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, Lily, such a good question, and you know, super
common to be on birth control and coming off of
it has been an interesting conversation over the years where
ladies will come into our store and say, hey, I've
been I've been trying to get pregnant for a while.
Now I'm having some struggles, or my overall balance has
been very off since getting off the birth control, or

(07:02):
I have these more significant challenges I'm facing from a
health perspective after getting off of them. And so it's
important to note that you know, birth control in general,
it creates an environment where you know, a baby obviously
would not grow or be born, and so that's an
environment that's not always the most healthy for your body.

(07:23):
And so each individual has to sort of make a
prayerful decision on you know, should I do that or
should I not? And we don't really try to persuade
people one way or another. Our goal is to add
health and help them find their healthy place. So wherever
you're at, that's where we're at. And when you get
off birth control, it's about bringing balance back to your system,
to your body. So nutrients like tai kudzu, nutrients that

(07:46):
will help normalize the system, Shatavari, d im down, qui, althianine,
chase tree like these will be normalizing balancing nutrients for women.
So when your levels are a little bit too high,
it brings it down, and they're a little bit too low,
it brings it up. So it's not like some sort
of progesterone cream that will spike your estrogen, and hey,

(08:07):
maybe you don't want your estrogen spike, maybe you actually
need it down, so you want to work with more
normalizing balancing nutrients that are you know, like I said,
balancing formulas for women. So there's a product called get
Even by Lively Vitamin Co.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
I have seen good success with that.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Actually, a recent customer that was battling pcos got on
get Even and saw some breakthrough there and reported back
that she actually was able to have a baby and
that was after three years of trying. So she said
it was the get even product. But balance in general
in the system like homeostasis. Back to the CBD conversation,
like you want to bring balance to the system, to
the body, and these these often ladies will be feeling

(08:47):
and experiencing higher stress and fatigue as well. So just
as important as balancing the hormones is balancing strengthening your
body's energy production and stress management. So I love to
bring up a second product called adrenal Boost, and adrenal
Boost has adaptogenic herbs that help your body adapt to
stress nourishing, strengthening the adrenal glands, nutrients like rodeola, ashwa ganda,

(09:13):
shazandra route that will immediately bring energy, focus and a
lower amount of stress to the body. So those two
products are huge, and I just want to you know,
if you're listening, you're like, oh, man, I know somebody
or maybe I battle with this. Like our wellness consultants
in our stores, this is one on one training, so
they go through three months of training on the top

(09:35):
fifty different struggles that our community faces and what's been
working for our community over the last you know, fourteen
fifteen years that we've been open. But also the education
that we've received.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
From all around the world.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
There's a lot of people I like to say that
are smarter than me that I take notes from that
I seek out when we're facing challenges and unable to
get success with somebody, you know, that produces and starts
a journey of research and development to find out, Hey,
what's working over in Europe. You know Germany, they use
lopoic acid to treat type two diabetes and Alzheimer's, And

(10:08):
so we learn over the years as a team. I
like to call our wellness consultants, you know, like our
our Navy Seals of consults, because we're getting better and better.
So when you walk into a store and you bring up, hey,
I battle PCOS or I just got off birth control,
you know, whether regardless of who's in front of you,

(10:30):
if they if they're there, they've received that training and
you can count on them to recommend the products I'm
talking about. So, in other words, yes, you can email
Tim to find your Healthy Place dot com. Yes you
can visit me on Wednesdays. I'd love it at Fitchburg store,
and when you talk to any of our team of
wellness consultants, these are common questions to the men and
women in our community.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
It's amazing stuff that you guys are doing at the
Healthy Place, and it's always a great day to get
on and start that conversation. Meet with the wellness consultants.

about where to go. Just it just disappeared on me. Tim.
I'm like, there we go. I'm sorry tomorrow. I got
my eye on those suckers.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
You know I do.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
We got an email this said, this is an interesting one.
We always get great, fantastic emails Tim at find your
Healthy Place dot com. Samara says, I was recently diagnosed
with hypothyroidism over ten Oh, excuse me, it's diagnosed over
ten years ago. I've been on medication that alleviates most
of my symptoms, but I still notice that my hair
is thinning and falling out. I know this is a

(13:37):
common symptom of low thyroid function. What do you recommend
for this issue? And that's Samara.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yeah, Samara, you know, super common question.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
I think it's like seventy percent of women and then
something like forty percent of men have some sort of
sluggish thyroid. Hypothyroidism, you know, leads to often hair loss
and weight gain, fatigue overall.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
And it can be a bear to manage.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
You know, a lot of times folks will get on
synthroid leave with that roxin. My mom actually battled thyroid cancer.
That's what helped sort of open the door to my
family to natural alternatives in general when I was five
or six years old. So it's been like a lifelong
sort of conversation in my own home and a common
one in the stores. So there's a few things I

(14:25):
always like to bring up. Almost everybody is deficient in iodine.
It's second like to vitamin D deficiencies in the United States,
and iodine controls so much within your thyroid and your
metabolism and your energy. Every cell actually has iodine receptors,
so it's very nourishing, strengthening to the whole system and

(14:46):
to the whole body, and so much to the extent
that they used to hand it out in schools, So
grade schools, you know, our grandparents would remember receiving sort
of like iodine treatment, if you will, supplements in grade school.
And so that's how vital it is for general health
and anti cancer, anti tumor, good for the immune system.

(15:07):
There's a whole books written on it. But all that
to say, for us sluggish thyroid it is highly recommended.
There's a product called Thyroid TLC that we sell, another
one called Thyroid Care, and a number of these products
are similar where you have a more therapeutic amount of
iodine to get things kicking into gear. And men and
women will feel the difference from these products in the

(15:29):
first day or two because they're deficient and they feel
that boost. I always like to, you know, throw the
warning out there, like, hey, talk to your medical professional,
because if you're on synthroid on liver with iyroxin, you know,
after a month or two of being on a supplement
with higher levels of iodine, you might need to adjust
that pharmaceutical drug because your body might not need as
much anymore, which is a good thing. But if you

(15:51):
don't keep an eye on that, then you know, you
can get thrown out of whack, and we don't want that.
So that's product number one highly successful. You know. My
mom's testimony was actually both my sister and my mom
battled hypothyroidism growing up, and so she had this is
the way she would say it. She's like, I had
seventy pounds that I could not lose, and no matter

(16:11):
what I would do, eat well, exercise. And I remember
watching this. I remember watching her portion sizes, watching her
go to the gym and watching this very frustrating, discouraging, depressing,
sort of not moving the needle on her weight management
that she needed to get under control. And my sister
same thing. I remember feeling quite a bit of empathy
sympathy for them, like what the heck, you know? And

(16:32):
so my mom went on a product similar to what
I'm talking about, higher levels of iodine, tyrozine amino acid,
and she would say that was the key for her,
and then the weight started coming off. So I wouldn't
call it a miracle pill. I would just say, if
you have a deficiency in an area, it can create
problems in your body. And that's an example of where
that's true. So I'd highly encourage that product number two.

(16:55):
Since weight loss is usually a part of the conversation
with hyperthyroidism. I like to guide people towards non thermogenic formulas.
Thermogenic formulas are like high caffeine jitters, heart palpitations. I
really don't like those products. I don't think they're good
for people. So a product similar to metaba Gogo by
Lively Vitamin co has your Garcinia combosia green coffee being

(17:19):
extract which is like a green tea as far as
an energy boost, so not like higher caffeine apple cider
vinegars in there wrap raspberry key tones would stimulates your
body's natural fatil apolysis nutrients like glucal manin that help
you feel a little bit more full throughout the day.
So it's just a very natural and clinical approach. When
I say clinical, I mean the amount of milligrams in

(17:40):
a serving match the human clinical trials, double blind, pacebo
controlled trials, like eight hundred milligrams of that green coffee
being extract So it works, people feel good on it,
and you know, I like to be honest about it,
One or two pounds a month to be lost from
something like metabogo go very consistent. And so those are
the two big products I'd bring up for somebody battling
hypothyroidism coming in the stores. You can choot an email

(18:03):
to me or pop online submit a ticket on our
chat feature if you want some links for some of
those products, and I think that'd help Samarah.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Great question this morning, just a little demonstration of what
goes on at the Healthy Place each and every day,
helping people find answers. Again, great day to get on in,
especially if you're in the Fitzburg area. Stop on end,
