Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yo, yo yo, mister Sean preways staying dry out there today,
bob Ah.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
For the most part, I take the took the chihuahua
out early this morning and it was pouring. And if
there's one thing that that you know is uh, chihuahua's
hate water. Well yeah, more than cold, more than people
walking in front of our house. My chia hates the rain.
(00:26):
It in so oh no, do it all right, do
it all right. We've got Oh my goodness, Tim, We've
got a ton of stuff to talk about this week.
Always an exciting time at the Healthy Place. Great day
to get on in. Whether you stop by the west
west side Fitchburg Sun Prairie location of the Healthy Place,
of course, wellms consultant standing by Wednesday meeting the Fitchburg location.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Five, Fitchburg. Baby, I'll be hanging out there. So if
you are listening, should come to the Fitchburg store. Yes,
you have a consultation on high five or just a
little education on Supplements's my favorite thing.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
It's again it's you mentioned, of course, come and get
the high five, get the consultation. Tim is in the
in the store today, the Fitchburg location. Oh, what a
great opportunity that is for folks. Don't forget. Also we
mentioned now wellness consultants at all three locations. Also, you
can start a conversation at chat online with the Weldes
consultants at a wellness consultant at find your Healthy Place
dot com. Let's find your Healthy Place dot com. Also,
(01:20):
while you're on the computer, if you're on that social media,
whether it's Facebook, got a great YouTube channel, Instagram at
find your underscore Healthy Place, you can find the Healthy
Place there as well. And if all of those opportunities
aren't enough, we've got another one for you right now.
It involves the phones picking them up. Give it us
a call six so eight three two one thirteen ten.
That's six soh eight three two one thirteen ten. We'll
get you right on the air with Tim O'Brien from
(01:41):
the Healthy Place and Tim. As a little thank you,
when folks go in, you give them twenty five bucks,
don't you.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Five dollar gift card just a thank you, and that
can be use on our website or in our stores.
And I love question, Sean, because you know, hopefully it
helps that individual because a lot of times we can
steer people in the right direction from like a supplement
side of things like what's working for folks and what
of well et cetera. But on the other side, it
demonstrates the magic of what we do here every day.
I mean, we have an army of wellness consultants in
(02:08):
our three stores that have been through, you know, three
months of training just to talk to a customer. Like
you think supplements, are they that complicated? Like, yeah, there's
thousands of brands. You know, we carry two hundred of them.
There's there's dozens of forms of ingredients, so be twelve.
You know, there's sign cobalom and methyl kobolom and divan cozide.
(02:30):
You know, you look at something like niosin. There's no
flesh niosin, there's regular niosin, there's niosin amide. So it
takes three months for our wellness consultants just to get
through training to understand good better best brands and what
makes them good better breasts, press makes them good better best,
like sourcing absorption content, additional additives like lipozomo. When you
(02:57):
add a fat to vitamin C and you get a
lipol zomo vitamin seed, it absorbs a lot better. And
so there's just so much information. So a wellness consultant
goes through those first three months training and then every
two weeks we all get together and we talk about
difficult cases like challenges conditions that we are researching or
(03:19):
trying to get what We'll have someone in the community
and were trying to as a team work with that
person and if say a couple of months go by,
say they have some sort of chronic pain that we
just can't you know, obviously we're always working under medical
professionals and their pharmacists and their medical team. We are
a natural side of things that we just know supplements,
(03:40):
vitamins and and what's working for the community. So then
the breakthroughs we get Shawn on Tuesday meetings every other
Tuesday we meet is super neat, and then as a
team we have hangouts. It's like a Google communication thread
that we have as a team called the Wellness Consultant thread,
and we're constantly like talking on that thread and improving
(04:00):
and sharpening and becoming more successful with supplements. So over
the years, like we've become far more than like a
vitamin shop or G and C. You know, I'm thankful
for those guys because that's some of my roots and
where I kind of got into the industry. And the
Healthy Place is far more about souls before sales. It's
far more about helping the community become the CEO of
(04:21):
their own health. They have a sword, they have a shield,
and a lot of times folks feel disempowered, like they
feel like they don't have the knowledge or the support
to change their health or to make and take action
on their health. They feel sort of alone, you know,
they feel kind of alone and without sort of direction.
(04:44):
So the Healthy Place it's all about, It's all about impact.
So our mission statement is impact, empower and educate every
customer to learn, grow, create a lifelong foundation of health
and wellness. So that the reason our website is called
find your Health from Place dot com is you have
your healthy place. You know, your wife has her healthy place,
(05:07):
your chihuahua as health place. So we want to help
people find their healthy place, not try to tell them
how to live, not try to tell them like medical
discs or natural that. It's like, we are a resource
in the community that provides education, very competitive pricing, just
because I don't want that to be a hurdle and
someone who cares. So when we train our team it's
(05:30):
like touch their heart before you ask for their hand,
ask questions before you make recommendations. Hear their story, find
out where they're at, find out how much they're suffering.
Because if somebody's suffering, suffering sean often two or three supplements,
for example, for pain, probability wise, the success on minimizing
chronic pain with two or three products is way higher
(05:52):
than with one product. So we need to find out
this information. And then on top of all that, we
have a return policy because we know people don't have
money growing on t ease and we know this stuff
can add up, and so if something doesn't work, let's say,
you know the community, it's chronic pain. Stress is a
common one, anxiety, depression. We have a lot of sleep
struggles in our community, and that's maybe like the top five.
(06:15):
So say somebody buys one to three products for stress
or anxiety or sleep or pain or depression and it
doesn't help as much as we hope, and they spend
one hundred bucks or who knows. Oh, we want folks
to be able to bring that back because the second
approach in the supplement world usually works like this is
what we recommend. If you go into one of our stores,
(06:35):
or you call our stores, you will get a wellness consultant,
and if you bring up a condition, challenge, health, what
have you, they'll bring up a recommendation back to you
that's the most successful in our community. And we do
that every day. And it's pretty easy to figure that
out because we just have tens of thousands of customers
every day, right, a lot of guys every day. So
(06:56):
you keep sharpening your sword and will make the first
recommendation first. If that doesn't work for people, say ten percent,
don't see the result, then we want that ten percent
to come back because the second recommendation usually works when
the first one doesn't. Sour our like system. I'm so
proud of it. And we're opening a foundational care clinic
and that's gonna happen January, and I just can't wait
(07:16):
for that because we're gonna have license natural paths and
functional medicine doctors and nurse practitioners and nutritive ivs and
lab work and we're gonna be able to change even
more lives. And so when you work at the Healthy Place,
the idea is you are the gold, You're the diamond.
The entire mission and vision of the company is to
find a way, and sometimes I visualize myself sean like
(07:36):
water searching for cracks, to find a way to get
you healthier, to help you move an inch closer to
your healthy place, to empower you and give you the
sword so that you can be the CEO of your
own health. Like these are the mega missions at the
Healthy Place, you know. And it's pretty cool because as
we've grown, we've been able to reinvest. You know, my
(07:56):
financial guy says, you probably should save for retirement or something.
I'm like, I'm putting it all back into the company.
It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
And it's like it is on my retirement so okay,
I'm also listening to my financial advisor. I'm trying to save.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yeah, so you got to you got one yelling around.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
It is. So it's just so much more exciting to
put a hundred bucks back into uh uh. You know,
if you want to call the Healthy Place a machine
that helps people than some sort of interest to cop
it's just different for me. I don't know it.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
And the energy and if you talk about that, like
like how good it feels to you know, do that stuff.
It's it's invigorating it's energizing, and you talk about some
of the stuff on the horizon at the Healthy Place,
which you guys do day in and day out as
well at the Healthy Place. If you've got a question,
or maybe you've been into the Healthy Place, want to
share your experience, We'd love to hear from you this morning.
Pick phone, dial in, get you on the air. Six
(08:47):
so eight three two one thirteen ten. That's six so
eight three two one thirteen ten. Don't forget. Can learn
more about the Healthy Place on their website find your
Healthy Place dot com. That's find your Healthy Place dot com.
You can also email the show him at find your
Healthy Place dot com. It's Tim ti Am at finds
your Healthy Place dot com. As a matter of fact,
Lisa wrote, and Lisa says, there are so many options
(09:09):
for gut health probiotics and enzymes, fiber blends, and I
feel overwhelmed. How do I know what combination is right
for me and when to take each one? And that
email comes to us from Lisa.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, Lisa, super good question. Gut health. You know I
listed sort of the top five earlier with stress, anxiety, depression,
sleep and pain and gut health. You know, really could
could fit in the top category as well. It kind
of plagues people in our community and it can be
a variety of things from bloating to comes pation, to
(09:48):
gas and cramping. And you know the inflammation too, where
flare ups with things like divertickyelitis, colitis. You know, IBS
is a big umbrella that they put over like and
maybe even over one hundred different digestive conditions. And there's
a couple of things I always bring up. You know,
probiotics kind of comes to people's minds, so that's an
(10:10):
obvious one. But Kirkcuman, specifically a higher absorbed form of
Kirkcuman does just wonders for digestive upset trouble. Kira Health
is a form of kirkhuman that's highly absorbable to twice
a day, that's fifteen hundred milligrams twice a day, does
absolute wonders for gut inflammation. A second product that I
(10:35):
mentioned earlier is the probiotic I would get great guts
by Lively vitamin CO. I'm very proud of that formula
because it has sacrimices Ballardi and two of the richest prebiotics,
and specifically horse chestnut and kibracho, which are prebiotics that
do not cause bloating. So most probiotics bloating probatics are
like rain to the rainforest, so helps your natural gut
(10:56):
flora grow. It's kind of like food for your probiotics.
And then that sacrimices Blardi strain in there. I think
Lisa will help you specifically with whatever that digestive issue
is because that strain just is healing. I mean leaky
gut type stuff, diarrhea type stuff, just strengthening. So I
would do the cure health. I would do the Great
Guts probiotic, and then if you're able to shoot an
(11:17):
email Tim at find your Healthyplace dot com or stop
in at the store today I'm at the Fitchburg store
ten to five. I love talking through this stuff as well,
because when you get a message like this Sean from
from Lisa, you know, there's like three or four questions
I'd have for her that would guide the recommendations, right,
and so then you kind of have to choose some
foundational ones to bring up on the air here when
(11:39):
we have conversations at the store, there's specific questions that
guide even more clarity and more precision. So at least
I would say, like either me or one of our
wellness consultants, like bring up the story and uh, let's
get you, let's get you healed up.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Really good email and really good question. Lisa is mentioned.
Of course. Tim's email addressed Tim at find your Healthy

all three locations, as well as online at find your
Healthy Place dot com. That was find your Healthy Place
(13:18):
dot com. Check out that website. And by the way, Tim,
just for the break you were answering Lisa's email and
one of the things that you brought up, and I
think one of the things that's important is sometimes folks
have questions that they may feel uncomfortable about talking about.
And I know one of the things that's really important
with your wellness consultants is developing that relationship, developing that trust,
(13:39):
and developing that openness. And it's important when it comes
to your health being able to talk with somebody openly
and freely about things. And sometimes folks do feel a
little uncomfortable. But part of your training and part of
your team is to really put people at ease and
assure them that.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Yeah, well I work at Yeah, I worked at at
GNC when I was just at a high school, and
I really liked it because I get to help people
their health and encourage people, and that's kind of where
I discovered my passion for this industry. So that experience
was cool. And so then what I experienced is the
commission side of supplements, and the goal within my team
(14:15):
at G and C was like we call it pms
or promotional monies, and it was just a commission you
got for selling certain products. So there's nothing wrong with that.
I mean, I would sell this multi instead of that multi,
and I'd sell this protein instead of that protein. And
you know, I didn't ask a lot of questions, you know,
and I developed my convictions at that time, and there's
(14:36):
things I was sold then that I wouldn't sell now.
And so when Becky and I opened The Healthy Place
in twenty ten, I had that experience. That's actually what
brought me to Madison. In two thousand and five, I
was a district manager over some GNC stores and I
liked it. It was fun. I'm thankful to gency've helped their industry.
And so then opening the Healthy Place in twenty ten,
it was like I knew right away I didn't want
(14:58):
to do commission because I remembered my experience, like I
would sell this multi instead of that multi because there
is a commission, and you know, I wanted to be
able to recommend people what was best for them. You know,
for me personally, everyone has their own Every wellness consultant
has their way of figuring out what they think is
best for the customer supplement wise, provide you with what
(15:19):
they're asking and their price points that they want and
all that. So for me, it's a very prayerful process.
When I'm walking towards the immune section and someone's talking
to me about how their immune system is compromised. I mean,
I'm like, I'm praying in my heart, like I don't know, right,
I don't know all the answers, and everybody is so
different that you cannot say, hey, this one product is
(15:40):
always best every time for everyone. Like that just doesn't happen.
And so it takes some wisdom might be a good word,
where it's like take some experience, takes some like, Okay,
let me ask a few more questions, like I wonder
if this is connected to that, because everything in the
body's connected everything else, obviously, and so that process is
pretty sacred for me, Like the idea of putting money
(16:01):
in there in a way that would distract me in
my sort of way of figuring out what I'm going
to recommend, you know, as a as a wellness consultant,
you know, not a doctor or pharmacist or anything, just
someone that knows a little bit about supplements and vitements.
And so for the rest of the team, like I
wanted to keep their heads clear, so we didn't do
I mean, trust is everything. And so then when a
customer comes in. It's I mean health is like really
(16:23):
vulnerable like people. That's an intimate space to like be
talking about your health with somebody, Like you don't do
that with a whole lot of people. Like even at
work you're like, oh I got a cold. You a
little contention, but you don't go into details, ye like
very So our team is trained for that, Like that's
actually part of what we hire for, is that integrity passion,
Like they have to like that piece, they have to
like people, they have to care about people naturally, like
(16:46):
you can't really train that stuff. And so thanks for
pointing that out because I think that's really the blue
diamond of the healthy Place, which probably call it like
a green diamond with the apple in there. But yeah,
it's my favorite part of what we do because it's
a people is really matters. And that's why I came
back to the storre Sewn two after five years, is
after the CBD BUM there was a lot of resources, sure,
(17:06):
and I need to be I'm a steward, right, I
mean I kind of steward these resources, is the way
I look at it, that have been given to me
and entrusted in me, and so I wanted to provide
more help for the world, and so then we started
building you know, wholesale brands that we sold to other
health food stores around the country, and e commerce. You know,
we find your Healthy Place dot com, but we have
(17:27):
Lively Vitamin co dot com and wild Theory dot com.
You know that we're trying to grow nationally e commerce.
And about five years into that, I'm like, okay, interesting,
this is a little bit what am I doing all day?
I'm looking at numbers, I'm looking at graphs, and I'm
not really talking to people anymore. So the whole job
(17:48):
for me shifted from like my favorite thing, which is people,
to like numbers and trying to grow a business, which
you know it just obviously I like my business growing,
but you kind of want to find a way to
do that that that you love and that you strike
toy with and you like, you know, so me getting
back to the stores kind of to put an explanation
point on your original point, it's all about trust, and
for me, it's all about the community. And that's why
(18:10):
Becky and I too are shifting in this next season
to to We're always asking the question, how can we
move the needle in Ding County and it got you know,
like flood light versus laser. That's what happened last year
where it went from like the country back to my
roots in Dane County, and like I can move the
needle here, you know, by God's grace, I can move
the needle here in the area of life expectancy and
(18:30):
quality of life and total pharmaceutical drug intake and you know,
total surgeries, et cetera. You know, working with our medical professionals.
What if I can bring Madison together in a way
that's like all the people that are fighting for for
each individual to have like education on their health and
empowered and you know, working together as a team because
(18:52):
Becky and I can't do it a well. So now
I'm like meeting with people every week, other people in
the community that are working towards the same goals of
better quality of life for the you know, less pain
less stress less anxiety. And that gets me out of
bed in the morning. So I'm real excited about the
next season. And this is an invitation if you're listening,
Like you don't have to buy anything. It's an invitation
(19:14):
without expectation, Like come into one of the Healthy Place
stores call the store, communicate with one of our wellness consultants.
See the difference of what we have, like it's just
supplements at the end of the day, and what we
sell is far more than supplements. It is hope. And
we're bringing hope Sean every day to hundreds of people.
And that's the favorite part of my job.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
It's pretty exciting as we talk about this stuff too, Tim,
and we talk about, you know, the experience at the
Healthy Place. I'd mentioned last week and I think at
bears repeating, is when you do get into the Healthy Place,
I hope folks kind of get a chance to kind
of look around and just look at other folks that
are there because there is a true relationship. There is
a true friendship there, a kinship that goes on. Everybody
(19:54):
kind of at that same mission of really helping law
prolong and live better live. That's a great thing about
getting into the Healthy Place. Whether it's westside Fitchburg or
sun Prairie location, they'd love to see you. Today's a
great day to get into the Fitchburg location. Tim is
there on Wednesdays, that's today from ten until five, stop
on and get that high five, get that wellness consultation again.
