(00:02):
Welcome back to the Hub on HollywoodPodcast. I'm your co host James Rojas
and I'm Jamie Blanco. On thisweek's episode, the video game inspired show
Fallout is out and it is abig hit. We take a look at
the Mandela effect in popular movies thatdefinitely did or did not happen a law
and order, a cast member becomesa true hero on set. Sidney Sweeney

(00:25):
is not pretty, nor is shetalented. First, but first we will
explain. We will explain that. But first, a scam alert targeting local
filmmakers in New England, Jamie issaid, and so what's going on with
this thing? Okay, so there'salways scams out there, James, but
this one in particular has been targetingactors in Boston. So it is,

(00:51):
it is sort of but maybe theyknow that Hollywood East is a booming place.
So I follow a number of filmpodcast film groups on Facebook and social
media, you know, I'm partof the Union. And there was a
woman who was posting about a castingagency who had reached out to her and

(01:12):
They're like, hey, we've gotthe perfect role for you. We've got
this amazing, this amazing role forthe upcoming Liam Neeson Naked Gun reboot that
they claim that this fake casting agencyclaims is being shot in Boston. They're

(01:34):
like, we've got this amazing role. It's filming here in Boston, you
know, And of course the otherperson's gonna be like, awesome, great,
you know, hook me up,and they're like, great, perfect,
We'll get everything set up as soonas you sign up for our service
and as soon as you pay tohave a profile on our casting agency.
As soon as you set that upand send us the money, we're gonna

(01:57):
get you this amazing role in thisamazing movie that is filming here in Boston
and a surprise, surprise, notlegit super sketch. Let's start with some
of the first red flags. First, can we talk about how a casting
agency will not ask you to paypay in order for you to, you

(02:19):
know, audition, because if they'rereaching out for you saying we think you're
good for this role, there wouldbe no reason for them to ask you
to pay to our addition for thatright, because they are paid by the
film. They are paid by theproducers to find the talent. Any and
all legitimate casting agencies, of whichthere are many here in New England will

(02:42):
not charge you for a basic profileand to list your resume in your photo
with them. I have never hadto spend a single dollar to be a
part of these key casting agencies andto get cast. So that's your first
major red flag right there. AndJames, I think another question would be,

(03:05):
well, what do you do whenyou're being targeted by a scam like
that? And you can go straightto SAG AFTRA and report it with them.
So get a hold of your localrep, reach out to SAG New
England and absolutely report that agency sothat they can then take the next steps

(03:28):
in shutting those people down and makingsure that other actors in New England or
elsewhere are not targeted and taken fora ride and lose their money for a
role that doesn't exist. We sayagency and quotations because that's not a real
agency. Agency wouldn't do that. And I guess, I guess another red

(03:49):
flag would be the very fact thatthe New Naked Gun movie is not filming
in Boston. That is correct, they are filming in Atlanta. So as
much as we would love, love, adore be so super psyched for the
New Naked Gun reboot remake movie tobe being shot here. There is no

(04:12):
indication right now that that is thecase. It's that is taking place in
Atlanta to the best of our knowledgeright now, James. So if you
get a call like this, youget an email saying, oh my god,
you've got this amazing role. Youjust have to sign up for our
our profile online like no, no, immediately report it. Do not fall

(04:34):
prey to that. However, ingood news, James, we do have
some more information about this really coolNaked Gun reboot. Yeah, so we
I guess it was about a monthor so ago when we learned that a
Naked that there would be a rebootof the all time favorite, the classic
Naked Gun series, and we heardthat Liam Neeson was cas as the main

(05:00):
role, which is perfect because notonly is Liam Neeson's name very close to
Leslie Nielsen, who was the starof the original Naked Gun series. But
again people were saying there was askit with Andy Jervas, no Ricky Gervas,
and where he you know, waspart of this skit where he was
saying he wanted to do comedy, wanted to do stand up and he has
such a dry delivery on him andknown for his dramatic roles that him trying

(05:26):
to be funny but serious inadvertently funnyin that sketch was hilarious. And so
since that came out, people weresaying, you know, if there were
going to be any more of thesespoof movies like Airplane, like Naked Gun,
it should be played by somebody whowould play it very straight, as
Leslie Nielsen did. And yeah,Liam Neeson's name was right up there,
and so that was great to hearthat he was cast for that role.

(05:50):
But we also got some new awesomecasting news for this film also right playing
the lead female role, Pamela Anderson, Yeah, which is so cool.
She does a lot of like Iknow, she does a lot of like
things for I don't necessarily know ifit's for PETA, but she does a

(06:12):
lot of animal rights events and showsand you know, things like that.
So that's like the latest thing I'veheard from her. But yeah, welcome
back, Pamela Anderson can be backfor the Naked Gun series. I think
she'll be perfect for that. She'sused to doing parody movies before. I
believe she's been in a couple oflike the scary movie like parity movies or

(06:33):
some other ones, right, andso she does have the comedic chops to
do that, especially in this genregenre. So I think this is perfect
casting. That's wonderful. So youremember, I take it you were a
fan of the original Naked Gun James? Oh? Absolutely? So how confident
you feel that they can bring backthat spirit, that slap sticky, dry

(06:56):
humor, like just absolutely insane andin hilariousness, Like, can they do
it? Justice? Can they bringthat back to a modern era and redo
it in a modern era? Doyou think it'll work? There are two
questions here. It's okay, canthey do it? And will they do
it? Can they? Absolutely, they can do it if they follow the

(07:19):
the proper mold of what parody movieswere original the formula. Yeah, the
Naked Gun series, they were parryingthe style of you know, law enforcement
and cop shows and things like thatback in the day. But after,
like I would say, the seriesof scary movie parody movies that came out,

(07:40):
the rest of those kind of filmsstarted leaning more heavily on the celebrity
cameo or the event of the monthcameo, and like you know, Britney
Spears, let's make it, let'smake a joke about her and like parasilitant
and all these other things, soit became less funny because it was just
a cameo kind of like a parodyingcelebrities movie at that point. If they

(08:05):
go back to the roots of parotingwhat the modern day police drama is of
today, I think they can doit. If they kind of follow the
role book of what like the currentLaw and Order or NCIS or other shows
or movies again of today's age,and they base their jokes off of that

(08:26):
and not necessarily pop culture events,I think it will work. One reason
why Airplane and they cod Gun workis because the jokes are timeless. You
can watch those films right now, even like Blazing Saddles, you can watch
those films right now because yeah, sure they have some pop culture jokes from
that day that time, but it'snot the majority of the film. The

(08:48):
majority of it slapstick. It's verysubtle, maybe over the top humor that
anybody could enjoy. So if theydo that, they can will they I
don't know, I won't hold mybreath unfortunately. You know, Also there
are some jokes that just don't age, you know. There so those classic
movies like Blazing Saddles. You know, they relied heavily on race, and

(09:13):
you know, jokes that won't wouldnever fly today, right they were,
They were spectacular back then, wouldnot in a millionaire's fly today. So
it's it's what do you kind ofreplace that with with what is now socially
acceptable and not socially acceptable? Youknow, I think they can tread that

(09:33):
very delicately. I think there's plentyof humor, you know, in places
that you can go without without that. But I think that it was just
a magic about those original movies becausethere was so much that you could get
away with that maybe you can't getaway with now. So I'd like to
see how they hand. If thecontext is is well thought out, then

(10:00):
I think they they still do havea lot of room to work with,
a lot of wiggle room. It'sjust the execution and the context and the
intense I think that matters a lot. A lot of people say that,
oh, you couldn't make a tropicthunder today because Robert Downey Jr. Was
a character who was a white personwho's playing a black character. But I

(10:22):
think you absolutely could make a tropicthunder today because what was the intense,
What was the context of that film? What was the joke they're making.
They're making a joke on the Hollywoodindustry, you know, whitewashing actors or
characters, you know, and soI think, you know, again,
there's the argument of like, oh, things are too sensitive. No,
you could definitely make a tropic thundertoday. You can definitely make I think

(10:43):
a naked gun, an airplane ora blazing saddles with the right context intense.
And so it depends if they areagain, long story short, they
can make this work. Will theymake a work? I'm not quite sure.
Okay, well, we will seeand we will be delightly, delightfully

(11:05):
surprised. I hope to see howit all comes together in the end.
You know what, I'm surprised about, Jamie. What I'm surprised that Sidney
Sweeney is not pretty or talented?Do you know this? This is news
to me. This is news tome, James. This is just utterly
ridiculous. You know, you knowwhen people say like, I have a

(11:28):
hot take, and then you know, like, okay, that that take
wasn't really that hot. This thisis a hot take, because this lit
up the internet after a word gotout that this this famous, this long
lasting producer in Hollywood, Carol Baum, she came out and said that Sidney
Sweeney, the multi Emily Emmy nominatedactress who is the the adoration of many

(11:54):
many people, men and women,I would say, around the world.
She said that she's also a professorat USC but apparently she told her class
that, you know, she askedthem, explain this girl to me.
She's not pretty, she can't act. Why is she so hot? She
said that nobody had an answer, but then the question was, well,
if you could get your movie madebecause she was in it, would you

(12:15):
do it? And you know,a YadA YadA, YadA. But after
word got out that she kind oflike, was I don't know, I
kind of just hating, Yeah, for lack of a better word, hating
on this actress who's having this bigmajor upswing in her career. A lot
of people took exception to that.One. Yeah, they were saying,
well, obviously you must be blind, because Sidney Sweeney is very attractive.

(12:37):
And two, she is talented,so much so that she has been nominated
for several Emmys for her work onEuphoria. She was recently on one of
the biggest rom coms in recent history. In anyone but you. I think
that's the name of the movie, anyone but you. And so, of
course, you know, people hadto respond to Did you see the statement

(12:58):
that the Sweeney's rep released following this? I didn't know. Please tell me
she said quote. How sad thata woman in the position, in her
position, sharing her expertise and experience, chooses instead to attack another woman If
that's what she learned in her decadesin the industry and feels as appropriate to
teach her students, that's shameful tounjustly disparage a fellow female producer speaks volumes

(13:22):
about miss Baum's character, And ofcourse, it didn't take long afterwards for
Bam to release a statement of herown, saying that she already regrets the
whole thing and that and that youknow, she wasn't trying to necessarily target
Sidney Sweeney, but you know, she wanted to, and she didn't want

(13:43):
it to be a cheap shot,But she was trying to make a point
to the class, which apparently apparentlydid not land. No, I don't
think that there was any legitimate pointthere to be made hater's gonna hate hate,
hate hate, and I think thatshe was appropriately called out on this
one. I think Sweeney's response wasvery respectful, almost like she took she

(14:11):
took the high road, you know, and she like eviscerated her with her
her There may have been a littleslights in there when they say if that's
what she's learned in her decades, right, yeah, Now, in my
mind, the word decades was verybig and bold, amplying like, okay,
maybe you have other things going on, but but no, overall that

(14:33):
that was a very respectful and wellthought out statement. Yes, And I
would just like for you and Ito to affirm that she is indeed beautiful
and she is indeed extremely talented. You we've seen, we've both seen Euphoria,
correct. You you've seen I've seen. I've seen a couple of episodes.

(14:58):
But yeah, she's really good, exactly. It is so difficult to
play that kind of role. Shehas great emotional range and to be that
vulnerable in front of the camera, you know, physically, emotionally. She

(15:22):
is extremely talented. I look forwardto everything that she is in in her
career is only skyrocketing and taking off. And I agree that We need to
be supporting young talent like that, not tearing them down. Those kind of
petty jealousies. They don't they don'thelp all of us. They don't lift
us up. Right, we allneed to be lifting each other up and

(15:45):
not tearing each other down. Soyeah, perfectly said, well, Jamie,
you know who else is lifting eachother up? Who Seth McFarlane from
Family Guy and Martin Scorsese. Agood transition, that is an interesting but
yes, yeah, apparently they havemuch more in common than than we realized.

(16:06):
Of course we knew that Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy,
American Dad and all these other programs. We know of course he's a big
animation fan and an animator himself.Well apparently Maren Scarcesei is also a big
fan, specifically of vintage animated shorts, and so right now they've teamed up

(16:29):
to fund the first ever curated restorationof historically significant animated shorts from the twenties
and the forties. Wow, okay, cool, yeah, yeah, so
these are non Disney, right, these are non Disney animations, I think,
so, I mean, I outof presume, so I don't think
Disney would just let let them dothat. I think. I don't think

(16:52):
Betty Boop is a Disney product, but Betty Boop, I understand, is
one of the animated shorts that willbe restored to their to their glory days,
so the good old days. Yeah, I don't know. I thought
that. I thought that was prettyneat. I love Seth MacFarlane. He
certainly lifts us all up with everyproject that he does. But yeah,

(17:15):
I'm thinking like Popeye the Sailorman, and I'm just trying to think, you
know what, what kinds of animationsthere were back then, before those sorts
of things were like monopolized. I'msure that there was a there were a
lot of very interesting animations, oneof them being James There was a cartoon

(17:37):
short from like the nineteen twenties andit focused on these like bones, like
these dancing bones in it in agraveyard, and that was like one of
the first ever animations. I thinkit was even from before nineteen twenty.
So that would be that that thatwould be very cool too to see.
To be fun, huh. Ifour listeners can common down below your favorite

(18:00):
nineteen twenties animated shorts, what isyour favorite, we will love to react
to them. You know, everyonehas a favorite nineteen twenties through nineteen forties
historic vintage cartoon out there are, yeah, or as they should. But
you know, I think that's reallygood that they are helping restore the good

(18:22):
nature of these of these of theseold cartoons. But you know what's also
good, restoring the faith in humanity. Because recently, are you fan of
Law and Order? Do you likethe show sv Yes, yes, all
this other I can take it insmall doses because they're they're pretty heavy and
they're they're pretty dark subject matter, but yes, yes, overall yes,

(18:45):
my family, yeah, we lovedLaw and Order. We watched it a
lot, especially SVU, and youknow, it's really good show. Come
from a law enforcement family, soyou know, we watched all like the
cop shows back then, and Lawand Order was one of the fun,
fun ones produced by Dick Wolf.Anyway. Anyway, so it turns out
that you know, the actress oneof the lead actresses for the past I

(19:07):
think like twenty five. I thinkthis is the twenty fifth season of Law
and Order SVU. But Olivia Benson, the character who's played by Marishka har
hargatea Marishka Hargatea. She became areal life action hero herself when recently they
were filming a scene out in NewYork City out in a park when suddenly

(19:30):
a little girl approached her saying thatshe was lost. Apparently the girl she
lost her mom, and then shesaw Marishka there with her police badge,
and she thought that she was anactual police officer in the park, so
she just walked like right by thecamera. She didn't even notice the cameras,
apparently walked right by Iced Tea andwalked up to her and said,

(19:51):
can you help me? I'm lost, And like in an instant, she
went into you know, super cupmode or like, oh really super mother
mode and helped this girl find hermom. And this actual video of this
was caught on video of her carryingthe little girl around as you know,
kind of like you know, aspeople looked around, kind of make sure

(20:11):
she didn't panic or freak out.But you know, that's really really cool.
Oh. I saw this video earliertoday, James, and I was
literally in tears because it's so sweetand it's this little girl who's about four
years old and to just be thatinnocent and and yes, hyper mom mode

(20:32):
was activated. She shut down thewhole production for about twenty thirty minutes.
Stand down, everyone, we havea real emergency here and helped her find
that little girl. Smile. Ifyou think there was a bank robbery nearby,
do you think Mushka would have jumpedinto actually still now you don't think
so. I think she would have. She might have been a little underqualified,

(20:52):
but I'm sure that she would wantto help in real life. But
what a thrill, What a thrillto be an actor and to play that
kind of a character and then tobe of real service one day, like
to be of real help, likeI'm sure she she just snapped into it
in an instant. So that's that'scool. Life reflecting art and art reflecting

(21:12):
life. So I'm glad everything workedout and they found a little girl.
They've pound her mom. It allworked out, hopefully they got ice,
but then Iced Tea placed the momand handcuffs for losing the girl. No,
no, it didn't happen. Niceto use all right, Well go
Marishka, you rock and roll. You know what else rocks Jamie's This This

(21:37):
new show on Amazon Prime Fallout, which is based on the best selling bethesta
video game franchise of the same name, Jamie, have you heard about this
one the video game? And didyou hear about the show? Yes,
I have watched people play the gamebecause I am a horrible at video games,
and I'm really I get so scaredJames's especially with the ones that are

(22:00):
like, you know, shoot themup or zombies or something like, I
guess, just so terrified. Yes, I've seen the game, not so
much the show. Yeah. Sothe show just came out, and actually
all the episodes, all eight episodesof the first season came out on Amazon
Prime. And it is joining theshort but seemingly growing list of video games

(22:22):
turned into shows or movies that areactually good. You know, you know
Pedro Pascal, he was in theLast of Us. Great show that follows.
The show follows the same storyline, basic same storyline as the video game
Fallout. It doesn't follow the samestory so this is new characters. However,
it does fall into the same universeas the video game. So and

(22:48):
I just watched the first episode. It's getting great reviews and I understand why.
It actually exceeded my own expectations watchingit. But for those who are
not familiar fall Out, This isworry about in the future post apocalyptic Los
Angeles, brought about by a nucleardecimation. Citizens must live in underground bunkers
to protect themselves from radiation, mutants, and bandits. This stars Ella Parnell

(23:14):
as Lucy MacLean. She's like themain character Walton Goggins. He is fantastic
and every single thing that he isin. He plays Cooper Howard also plays
a ghoul in this. In thisshow Aaron Moten he plays Maximus and Kyle
McLaughlin you know him from Twin Peaks. He's also he was also in the
original Dune. He's been in somany great things. He plays the overseer

(23:38):
Hank MacLean as well. And likeI said, I've I've heard really good
things about this show, and I'mpleasantly, pleasantly surprised that this has exceeded
expectations from what I've heard, thereaction not only from those who have been
watching the show, but also fromthe fan base has been incredible, so

(24:02):
much so that I think in lessthan a week that it's been released,
season two has already been given thegreen light. Visually, it's stunning.
You could tell that Amazon threw ina lot of money into this project because
it looks incredible. It looks justlike the video game, but in real
life. The standouts the characters orthe actors are Ellup Parnell, who plays

(24:25):
like the lead. And again goingback to Walter Goggins first episode in I
think he's only in about maybe aquarter if not less, of the first
episode, and he steals the scene, he steals the show and everything that
he's in, and so I amreally pleasantly surprised with this show adaptation.
I cannot wait to get into morethis season. And yeah, and this

(24:47):
is what I'd highly recommend if youare a fan of the video game as
I am. I actually just recentlyplayed through the game for maybe like the
third or fourth time already before Iheard that they were making a show,
and so freshly playing the game goinginto this is a great transition. So
if you are a fan of Falloutof the Fallout franchise, highly recommend this

(25:08):
show because it's fantastic. And oneof the things I did with the Last
of Us was I went on YouTubeand I watched like compilations of all the
cut scenes from the video game, and then I watched the show. I'm
sure that they have that for Falloutas well, if somebody wants to go
and familiarize themselves with the lore. But between this, you know, Fallout,

(25:33):
the Last of Us, the Witcher, all of these video games now
coming to life, Like, isthat the new well that we're pulling from
now that we've got you know,we're on sequels, We're on like this
movie four, five, six seven. You know, we're running out of
ideas and we're recycling movies at nauseum. You know, they're beating the dead

(25:57):
horse. Like it's just seems like, maybe is this the new well that
we're pulling from too? If theyif they're pulling clean, you know,
water from this well and that isrefreshing, yeah, and nutritious, then
I think go for it because becausethis, yeah, there's mineral water.
There's some good minerals in that inthat water. So this is a pretty

(26:18):
good mineral water from this well.Yeah, The Last of Us is great.
One thing that I like from theLast of Us I haven't played the
video game, but from what Ihear is that they follow the basic storyline,
but there are changes, and thosewho have played the game and watched
the show, they are happy andsatisfied with those changes, so okay,
and that gets their sale of approval, then I'm in. And also for

(26:41):
this one, the game, sameuniverse, so you recognize all the things
from the video game, but it'sa new character, new storyline in the
same you know, in the sameFallout verse. So I think it works.
Yeah, So I like it,can't wait to get into it.
And if they could keep doing thiswith other video game franchises that deserve it,
yeah, go for it. That'sall I can say. Go for

(27:03):
it. One last question, James, if you could pick a video game
to remake, like your favorite gameor your favorite you know storyline, If
you could pick a video game toremake right now, what would it be.
Let's see there was a Let's see, there are so many good games.
There is actually, well, I'mreplaying right now, Red Dead Redemption

(27:27):
two. So that takes place inthe old wild West with Arthur Morgan and
his band of outlaws. That's actuallya really good, really really good story.
And so I think if the videogame has a great story to it,
then it would make sense that itwould be easily transferred into real life.

(27:48):
So I think Red Dead Redemption wouldbe a really good one. There's
also an old and sixty four StarWars game called like Shadows of the Empire.
That was a really fun game.I'm not sure story wise if it
was if I recall was really good, but the gameplay was really fun.
So I think those are those wouldbe two beta games that I would remand

(28:11):
so I'm excited about the among Us. Among Us is going to be an
animated series. So I don't knowif you've played among Us, but it's
a horror it's about Yeah, Yeah, it's a horror game. You're on
the ship. One of you isthe impostor, and that impost runs around
murdering people and you have to tryto guess who the impostor is. It's

(28:32):
super fun to play Elijah Wood andRandall Park. I've been cast in that
project. So that is one moreto look forward to. Is it basically
like Alien, like the movie Alien, where like there's but but the alien
can can is you know, pretendingto be a crew member, right exactly.
They're trapped in space going around thespace ship and the one by one

(28:53):
they're getting picked off, and yesthat to find it and destroy it.
Yeah, and you have to tryto keep the ship from crashing too.
You have to do these activities inthe game too, in order to keep
the ship going while this impostor isrunning around murdering people. Yes, it's
fun, so I'm excited for thatone, for sure. I like it.

(29:14):
I like it. You know whatelse they liked, James? What
else do you like? Or atleast I thought I did that. I
thought I liked it. Do youremember back in your child memories in the
nineties early nineties, there was amovie, or at least many people swear
there was a movie, And Iremember this movie called Shazam starring Sindbad.

(29:38):
Do you remember anything like this,James, I remember the movie Kazam with
Shaquille O'Neill. No, this wasnot that, so, James. Look,
I talked to my husband. Italked to my friends. I called
a friend of mine today, Randysur I don't know who's a I called

(30:02):
a lifeline who works for Telemundo, and I'm like, do you guys remember
this movie? All of them rememberit. It's a movie called Shazam where
Sinbad plays a genie. He wearsa turban, He goes on a wacky
adventure with a couple of kids andlike I remember specific scenes from this movie
where he is strutting around in hisin his turban. But apparently James,

(30:26):
apparently this movie never existed. I'veheard about this and I think it it
made I guess people it is sucha popular like mis memory. I guess
that for lack of a better word, Yeah, that college humor or what

(30:48):
was college humor, Like the sketchcomedy group, an organization they made a
parody of, like finding the losttape of Shazam starring Sindbad and so.
And I think that led you know, that news of like oh I heard
saw all the Shazam clip or whateverfed into you know, missing the minor

(31:08):
details of like it was a sketch, but like that fed into this loop
of like misremembering. But yeah, this this is called the Mendela effect,
right right, Yeah, So theMendela effect is this phenomenon where lots of
people misremember the same thing, andyou know, it goes from you know,

(31:30):
as innocuous as well. People arejust simply misremembering and there was something
similar at the same time and it'sjust a mistake to other people who say,
well, this is evidence that we'veshifted into an entirely new universe,
and in this universe, this movienever existed. But Shaquille o'nea was in
Kazam, but Shazam never existed. So I don't know where you fall on

(31:53):
that spectrum of belief. But Ido have a couple of other examples of
the Mandela effect in movies, andI believe you also have a list,
James. So I was just gonnakick it off with the first thing that
I thought was kind of crazy, and I'm going to try to blow everybody's

(32:15):
minds right now in the Saw series, James, the Saw movies, the
horror movies. What does Jigsaw say? What is the quote about the game?
What? What is the quote? What does Jigsaw say? He says,
do you want to play a game? Wrong? Wrong? Apparently what

(32:37):
he says is I want to playa game? Right? But everybody,
everybody, believe everybody remembers do youwant to play a game? Or let's
play a game is another one thatsome people remember. But do you want
to play a game? The otherline, the other line, do you
want to play monopoly with me?A lot of people think he says that,

(32:57):
but he never says that. Actually, God, I love Monopoly anyways,
but that is something that is alsothe Mandela effect. Most people remember
do you want to play a game? Not apparently in the movie itself,
it's I want to play a game? Is it just did we just misremember
James? Or are we in awhole new universe? Are we in a

(33:19):
whole new existence? We shifted toNew Earth and you know, it's just
these little things that didn't make itthrough. I do like that theory.
I don't think that's happening, butI do like that theory. That's like
a movie that should be its ownmovie called the Mandela Effect, and then
when people watch that they forget everythingabout it and think something else happened.
Yeah, but not like that theory. I don't, you know, believe

(33:40):
it. But it's a cool idea. Okay, But this also falls in
line with the one of the mostfamous lines in all of cinema history taking
place and Star Wars the Empire strikesback. What does Darth Vader say to
Luke? Oh, yeah, that'sa good one. When like after he
cuts off his hand and he's like, join me, and then he reveals

(34:00):
this big secret. What does hesay to Luke? Well, everybody remembers
it as Luke, I am yourfather right, right? Yeah, except
people think that except the real lineis no, I am your father right

(34:24):
is not possible. It's impossible, impossible. He says, No, that's
not true. That's impossible. Truefeelings, Luke, you know, would
be true? Yeah? All that? Do you have another? I do?
I do? So. Do youremember lamb Chop, that show lamps

(34:45):
Chop, the puppet and all ofthat, and and the song that they
sing that brings back that never ends? So what are the lyrics to that
song that never ends? I completelyforgot, but I I do remember lamp
Shop and I remember watching Kid.Remember that song. Most people sing,
this is the song that never ends. It goes on and on my friends.

(35:12):
That's how I always sing it.That's you know. And I watched
lamb Chop. But apparently in theshow itself it says, this is the
song that doesn't end. This isthe song that doesn't end. Which doesn't
sound right. That doesn't sound right, it doesn't flow, it doesn't seem
like that's what it would have said. I always thought it was the song

(35:34):
that never ends, but I wentback and I saw a clip and it
does legitimately say that this is thesong that doesn't end, and that's one
that most people misremember. Also interesting, Yeah, that's yeah never never sounds
better. Yeah, let's go tothe one of the most famous films ever
made, not only in all ofcinema, but also here in Massachusetts,

(35:59):
Jaws. So that that famous scenewhere the shark pops his head out while
the sheriff, the police chief isis throwing chum into the water. He
goes everyone A lot a lot ofpeople think he says, we're gonna need
a bigger boats, right, butyeah, actuality he says. He says,

(36:19):
you're gonna need a bigger boat.Oh yeah, no, but that's
how my my father in law.Okay, my father in law. That's
his favorite movie of all time. You know, shot in Martha's Vineyard,
shot here in New England. Yeah, we're gonna need a bigger boat.
Now, you're gonna need a biggerboat. Like, yeah, you're you're
both on the boat. We're gonnaneed a bigger like I'm not leaving the

(36:44):
boats Like I'm not leaving. Weare on this one boat. We need
a bigger boat. What is happening? What is happening? James, So
does that does that sink. Theentire movie Do You Desert? Is your
father in law gonna turn his backagainst Jaws? Now, I love it.
He's gonna love it forever. Thisone actually surprised me when I when

(37:05):
I watched this scene back in RiskyBusiness. You know that that famous scene
where Tom Cruise he comes sliding intothe living room into frame, uh,
singing, singing that song, andand he's you know, now, he's
not wearing any pants. He justhas his underwear on, socks, shirt,
sunglasses done. No no, no, no, no no no no.
Well, upon further review, everyonethinks that he's wearing sunglasses, but

(37:30):
he is not wearing sunglasses in thatscene. He is wearing sunglasses in the
poster like like the VHS box set, you know the image in the front,
he is wearing sunglasses there. SoI think a lot of people think
that he's wearing sunglasses in that dancescene, which he does not mind blown.
Interesting. Interesting, Another one ofthe smaller ones. You know,

(37:57):
the dude from Scooby Doo Shaggy ShaggyYeah, sinks sinks Scooby or whatever.
I did that really badly, everybody, Uh so, yeah, we all
watched Scooby Doo man. We allknow the character, we all know Shaggy,

(38:22):
but most people remember Shaggy having avery prominent Adam's apple and that goes
up and down and and all ofthis stuff. But apparently in the cartoon
he never had an Adam's apple. But for some reason, we all think
of Shaggy as having a prominent Adam'sapple. Maybe that's because of live action.

(38:44):
I don't know, but that wasfun where I'm like, I do,
I remember, I remember, likethe little cartoon Adam's apple going up
all the time. I remember thatone. I remember like an Adam Adam's
apple coming up, like for example, I just looked at Popeye. Pop
Eye look looking at his photos. He does not have to have an Adam's
apple. But I remember, likecartoons like that of that era Martin SCORSESEI

(39:08):
and then and Seth McFarlane are arere vitalizing. But cartoons like that like
that, yeah, that that Adam'sapple goes up and down. I remember
cartoons like that having that, ButI don't know, I personally don't necessarily
remember Shaggy with with that. Ido anyways, I mean, I'm not

(39:30):
I mean, I'm not saying you'rewrong. I'm just saying you are wrong.
Technically you are wrong, but I'mnot saying that you're wrong. I'm
just saying I don't remember that. But yeah, this one, this,
this following one, this is mylast one. But this one blew my
mind. But in the iconic ETmovie, when E T you know he
wants to contact you know, hisown his own kind, his own people,

(39:52):
his own ets. What does hesay? You know? E T
E T phone home right? Whatdo you think? He says, you
cannot you can't tell me that.He doesn't say e T phone home.
He doesn't say it. Instead,I know, instead of saying e T
phone home, he says e Thome phone. There's no, you can't

(40:17):
know. I reject this. Youcan't get you can't get me to believe
that. Let me see, let'ssee E T home phone. We're gonna
watch this really quick. Yeah, see watching it. Let's see. Let's
see. Okay, so we haveit. Can we hear this? Yeah?

(40:39):
I can hear it again. I'mgetting past an ad poom. He
said phone. He said, hesaid phone, You're right, it's home.

(41:05):
Oh my god, I need toreceive this movie. It's so good,
Little Drew Barrymore, E T Ohno, no, oh my god,
I think that. Okay, SoE T phone home, et phone

(41:28):
home. No, E T saysE T home phone, and then Drew
Barrymore says, E T phone home. So that that seems like a that
seems like a kind of a gotyou kind of a situation because that line
is said in that movie immediately afterE T does say it. But so

(41:51):
I understand that one being uh misremembered. I think I think that was a
that was that was a trick. That is a trick, trick right there,
but also is blown. My mindis blown. I just reject this
reality whole full James mind blown blow, James blown mind. Okay, yeah,

(42:12):
crazy, all right. I don'tknow if I could take much more
of these James. It's it hurts. I'm tapping out. I'm tapping out.
But you know what we're not gonnatap out of is this week's sine
quote. I hope we don't tapout of this week's sine quote. Last
week we did tap out, butthis is another week. This is a
new movie, and fortunately it isnot a Sunday stumper, because we do

(42:37):
not have a good track record witha Sunday stumping. So yeah, Jamie,
if you're ready. Okay, forthose who don't know sen a quote.
Every week we played this game atthe end of the Hub on Hollywood
podcast that I'm sure you are followingon social media at hub on Hollywood.

Yeah, back to that quote. Is a weekly daily game where a
new movie of the day is pickedand you have to guess which movie it

(43:21):
is based on the five quotes thatare provided. You can guess it in
one guess one quote. That's fantastic. H Sometimes it takes us three.
I think that's our average. Sometimeswe don't get it, but this time
we will. That's right, that'sright, that being sad James or else.
We'll reset the universe and then we'llget it. After that, Okay,
we'll go into a sindbad universe wherewe did get it right, where

(43:44):
there was a Shazam where there can'tcan't convince me otherwise. All right,
are we ready to play? Ihope so, okay, let's go.
We're gonna go in to quote numberone and three two one. For the
first time, I know what Iwant to do for the first time,
I toler wants me to or not. Oh, I think I know what

(44:07):
it is. Oh, what isit? I think it is. I
I can see it. Matthew Broderick, Uh, Ferris Bueller's day Off.
I think it's fair. Let's tryit. I'm not quite sure, but
let's try it. Okay, Okay, let's try it. Okay. Paris
Bueller's Stay Off in three to onesubmits, no, oh, come on,

(44:30):
It's not like when the guy, when the friend at the end is
like deciding to there's like inspiring musicunderneath. When he's doing his speech and
the car goes through, okay,or the car goes through and then he
does that speech, there's music underneath. So that's the only thing that can
be that kind of hung me up. Good guests, I think it's the
same vibe, all right. Nextnext clue quote number two and three two

(44:53):
one Welton Academy. He yes,he is just a moment mister no,
it's for you. It's God.He says, we should have girls,
and it is okay to that AnimalHouse. Yeah, that's what I think.

(45:20):
I've never here's my confession of theweek. You can I've never watched
Animal House. Oh dare you know? It doesn't I've heard. I've heard
it doesn't live up or stand upto modern standards. Absolutely not. But
still you must see it. Stilljudgar to judge our our predecessors. But
at Animal House nineteen seventy eight, ready to submit three to one? Oh

(45:47):
one, I guess someone else didn'twatch Animal House. No, but then
it's a very similar kind of movie. This is a very similar kind of
movie. We should have Revenge ofthe Nerds. Maybe, do you want
to try the next quote? Okay, you're the next quote. They will
guess how did I get that wrong? Well, we have to we have

(46:07):
to play the next quote in orderto guests. Okay, so quote number
three and three to one. Myniece is gonna play with your son,
says missus Marks. Oh no,no, I say it must be mistaken.
My son's not gonna play. Hemade a layer out of me.
Neil, tomorrow you go to them? Is it the dead poet. Don't

(46:30):
you say it? Don't you sayyou know? This? Is it?
The Dead Poets Society? I knowbecause I have nothing, okay nothing,
so like I don't I don't mind. All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna
guess the Dead Poets Society. Thereis the dead Pool no kidding poet society.

(46:51):
Okay, the Dead Poet Society inthree to one? Yeah, are
right in that vein my suft.Things a different way, Robbie Williams,
stand Pete. I don't know whyI said it that way. Rest in
peace, Rob Williams. All right, I knew it right, look at

(47:15):
us? Do yay? About timeyou have a little visitor over there?
We do? Sorry, DESI cameto visit, all right? Hi?
Yeah? So yeah, because hereat the hob on Hollywood, it's a
family show. It's a family showunlike the movie Animal House. Do not

(47:35):
show them Animal House to your children. What would you do? What would
you do if Marishka Harga rescued Desi? That would be uh, that would
be amazing. Yep, that wouldbe incredible. I would be in hysterics
if I had lost Desi in thefirst place. But I mean, what

(48:00):
better way to find what better wayto find nowhere? Handcuffs you? What
is with you? And ice keyand the handcuffs. He's he's you know,
he's a fair man, but he'salso harsh and so yeah, yeah,
yeah, okay, all right,well I think that's a good it's
a good point to end the show. Thank you so much for tuning into
