This week's episode, there's no endin sight for the writers strike and its
effects on the local film industry.Boston Boys Matt Damon and Casey Affleck are
back filming in the Boston region.A special interview coming up. Pedo Pascal
gearing up for Gladiator two, andthe weather is heating up, but casting
calls seem to be cooling off. This is the Hub on Hollywood. I'm

(00:22):
James, I'm Jamie. Let's diveinto it. It's rough. Let's go
all right, Jamie. First off, I want to start by saying,
Happy Mother's Day. Oh, thankyou so much. Yay, It's happy
Mother's Day. So happy Mother's Daytoo, all of you nerdy moms out

(00:42):
there who love movies just as muchas we do, and your mom's and
everyone else who's not a mom, your mom, and you know, yeah,
happy happy Mother's Day out there.It isn't isn't My Heart a Mother's
Day movie? Or The Heart isnot a Mother's Day story? A movie?
I don't think, you know,I don't. People say it's like
a Christmas movie, But wasn't thereone that was like Mother's Day? I'm

(01:04):
maybe like maybe maybe die Hard numberfive, But I don't think one,
two, or three have any motherrelation. I was, I wasn't ask
you it does any other I guessaside from die Hard, does any other
movie stick out in your mind whenyou think of Mother's Day? Um,
I know that there's a lot ofmother daughter themed movies like Ladybird, there's

(01:26):
the blind Side is coming up insome of these search results, gonna have
that mother figure popping up. Ithink it's like, Yeah, what reminds
me of like Mother's Day and Mother'sIt's just rom coms. Is just like
sappy, ridiculous romantic movies that youcan watch with your mom. And yeah,

(01:47):
so I think I go like,it reminds me more in that direction
than than anything else. So whatsappy you know, fun silly movie or
you're gonna be watching with your momthis weekend, And yeah, Freaky Friday.
Freaky Friday is a fun mother daughterone with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay
Lohan. Um. Also one thingthat just came out recently, Everything Everywhere,

(02:13):
all out of once. At theheart of it, it's a story
about a mother and her daughter tryingto build these bonds that have been you
know, stretched thin through various reasons. So those are some good I'd recommend
either either one of those two filmsfor for this Mother's Day, Oh my
gosh, Yes, and everywhere, anywhere, all at once, not only
a great title, not only agood movie, a perfect representation of what

(02:36):
it's like to be a mom where, anywhere, everywhere, all at once,
doing everything for everybody. So yeah, that's actually a really good representation.
Good good catch on that. Yeah, that's perfect description of what I'm
being a mom is like. Soshout out to the mom's out there,
for my mom, for my wife, who is this is her first Mother's
Day, you know, and soso very of course you're trying to spoil

(02:58):
everybody. A very shall happy firstMother's Day to your wife, and congratulations
to the best of you. Andyou know what else we should be getting
our mothers on Mother's Day, especiallythose who are in the film industry.
Some work, okay and someday andsome money and you know, maybe a
deal. Writers strike. The Writer'sGuild of America does not seem to be

(03:24):
ending any time soon, you know. Obviously, the late night shows were
the first to go that have gonedark. A number of other productions are
slowing down and it's creating a rippleeffect from Hollywood West to overhear in Hollywood
East. Yeah, so this isgoing into week number two. Currently right

(03:46):
now in Hollywood West, there arethousands of members with the Writer's Guild of
America who are striking and picketing actuallyoutside Universal studios, the Disney and Warner
Brothers studio lots in Burbank, aswell as Paramount studios in Hollywood. So
you're gonna be seeing a lot ofthat in the news. Thousands of writers
out there again just pretty much demandinga fair wage. And and also a

(04:11):
big thing that is the result ofstreaming services or the rise of streaming services,
is the lack of royalties. Likeback in the day, you would
get these royalty checks where your workwhen it shows up on TV again and
it goes into syndication, you geta little chunk of that change. However,
you know, with the streaming services, one not only is that gone,
but two the Disney Netflix or Disneyplus Amazon Prime, they're very hush

(04:36):
hush and secretive with how much moneythese films and shows make that are made
for the streaming services, which isthen hard to negotiate, you know how
much you should be getting paid.So it's it's tough all the way around.
It's shady all the way around.I mean, the streaming services exploded
so quickly, especially during the pandemicwhen everyone who was trapped at home,

(05:00):
and you know, it went fromyou've got to pay this money and you've
you've only got Netflix. So you'vegot so many options. You've got infinite
you know, variety of streaming servicesand such a demand for content and such
a huge you know, uh wheelturning on pumping out all of these shows
and productions and movies. UM thatI think that it's been hard for the

(05:24):
industry and the unions to keep upand to write things that the way that
they kind of ought to be.And I and a lot of these studios,
um have been taking advantage of that, and you know they've been shady
practices they're in. So we'll seewhat your hope that you know a lot
of this gets ironed out soon,um, because it's affecting people's bottom line

(05:46):
right here in New England. Yeah, we know of at least one production
that was supposed to be getting underwayat Marino Student Marina Studios in Quincy.
UM they shot you know, Iwant to Dance with Somebody. And tons
of other productions have been shot there. There was one in particular that was
supposed to be getting underway in thenext two weeks that has now been put

(06:11):
off, and there's just so muchuncertainty associated with what's going on. One
of the big prop houses here inNew England that serves the film industry,
one of the biggests. It's calledWesterman Equipment. Westerman House. They provide
a lot of the props for themovies and shows. They're saying that they're

(06:35):
uncertain as to what's going to begoing on. Nobody wants to start something
if they don't know the end gameis what is of Westerman Equipment said in
one interview. So a lot ofuncertainty some productions. It was said to

(06:56):
be a really booming year this year, Jane, So we're not sure who's
going to be filming on time. We're not sure exactly how many productions are
going to be held back, andit depends on whether or not they have
everything written for Some shows that theylooked ahead, they saw that this was

(07:18):
coming down the line, that thiswas a possibility. Shows like the Mandalorian,
for example, they have the wholenext season written so that they can
go ahead and shoot it. Andthere's a couple of films and television shows
here locally that presumably have done thesame thing. We've got The Perfect Couple
starring Nicole Pidman, which is alimited series that continues filming on Cape Cod.

(07:44):
So there are still casting calls forthat and jobs there for the local
talent and local filmmakers, which isgreat. And the other one is the
Instigators, right, yeah, that'sone thing that's not affected by the writer's
strike at this moment midway through productionhere in the Boston region. We've seen
the filming in the North End,we've seen them down in Quimsey, and

(08:05):
we saw them most recently back inQuimsey the time at the Beach and actually
spoke with the WBEZ News radios JimMcKay, who got a look at one
of the scenes being shot and itwas fun because apparently it was or it
is a winter scene where there's supposedto be snow and you know, a
chill in the air. However,as you know right now in Massachusetts,

(08:28):
it's spring and the weather is heatingup and so it made for quite the
interesting shoot and so let's just getright into this interview with Jim McKay,
with WBZ News Radio's reporter about whatthey shot over at Wallaston Beach most recently.
Hollywood is here in the Boston region. Now we are already known as

(08:48):
Hollywood East, but we have somebig time stars who are originally from the
area back home to film their latestmovie, The Instigators. It follows two
robbers who must go on the runwith the help of one of their therapists
after a theft goes wrong. WBZNews Radios Jim McKay was there to see
the action at their latest filming locationin Quincy. Jim, thank you so

(09:11):
much for joining us on the hubon Hollywood. James, No problem.
Good to see a man. Sotell me really quick, what was the
vibe? Because I understand that theshooting for this latest scene was at Wallaceton
Beach. We saw the guys MattDamon, Casey Affleck in the North End
already, we've seen them in otherparts of Quinsey as well. What was

(09:31):
the vibe? Was there a crowd? Well, so here's how like it
played out for me. I wasgoing through just a regular morning, as
we do when the news radio businesscovering our stories, and we don't know
which from each day to the next, what we're going to be doing.
And I was actually on my wayhome because I live in North Weymouth and
for anyone out familiar with Greater Boston, it's right down the street from Wallaston

(09:52):
Beach essentially just south of Boston, and I drove by the movie set and
I I had not seen the equipmentout there, because that same road I
come up in the morning early morningswhen I come into the studio. I
didn't see it set up on myride in, so I wasn't aware of
it. But I passed it onthe way back and I was like,
oh man, they're gonna be filminghere today. And I was technically off

(10:13):
the clock, but I just reporterinstincts, was like, you know what,
let me do a U turn andgo check this out. And I
did, and I was so gladI did, because so I parked like
half a mile of where they hadeverything cut off, and I walked up
and yeah, James, there wasprobably about thirty to forty people there.
And the craziest thing was, youknow, you sometimes go to these movie

(10:35):
shoots, and you know, they'rein those like honeywagon trailers the whole time.
They may pop out for a secondor two to film one little thing
and then go back or get takenoff. But Matt Damon and Casey Affleck
were right there on the main drag. They were right across the street from
the Clam Box, which is thislegendary seafood restaurant on the South Shore,
and it was kind of wild.I hadn't been on a movie set like

(10:58):
that sense. Um. I livedwhen I was working in New York.
I lived in a neighborhood in Brooklyncalled Sunset Park. And I don't know
if you know the Tracy Morgan show, the Last Peg on TBS, Well,
they filmed that in my neighborhood,um, and so they were out
there every day, so I hadI didn't get a whole lot to see
to see what they were doing, because I'm busy myself. But I hadn't
been on a movie set like thatin a while, so it was wild

(11:22):
when I walked up. I walkedup and there they were, right across
the street, and it was alittle bit of a distant look. But
I also had my nice um canonuh, pointed shoot camera. So I
was getting real nice shots of them. But it was yeah, I was
wild and people were, um,were very shocked. It was kind of
the same thing. They were like, I don't know, they were just
going to be right across the streetand we could watch them. So it
was very cool. Yeah, Iwas gonna say that you actually got I

(11:45):
think the best pictures of the day. We'll send people to you to your
Twitter account. What is your TwitterIt's at McKay. Yeah, it's at
Jim McKay on air and that's mckay. Um. But the the they
did a great job also on BusyNewsRadio dot com and if you scroll down
to our new section to be ableto find the link there, there was
a nice ride up. But yeah, it was it was just simple.

(12:09):
James's you know, camera's very wellyourself. I know you're a talented Photogum.
I mean there were pretty easy shots. I mean I just said there
were shots. They were. Therewere really really good shots. I recommend
everybody to go check out the websiteand and Jim's Twitter account because yeah,
you got some really good You gotthat zoom in and you saw Matt.
We just saw Casey did they sayhi to the crowd. Did they approach

(12:30):
the crowd at any point. Therewas a couple of times that they did
wave. And there was one shotthat I got to Matt Damon which was
hysterical because when I took it,I could see him smiling at me and
I and I was able to snapthat very quickly. He kind of gave
me a little like wink wink grin, which was pretty hilarious. But they
were waving. Um. But there'sI mean, you know you've been around

(12:50):
movie sets. I mean there's somuch commotion in chaos going on, and
like we were talking about before wewent on the air here, Um,
this was a scene that they werefilming, uh, for some sort of
winter scene in this in this moviethe instigators, because they were dressed up
in like winter attire and they wereshoveling snow out of the back of freezer
trucks and it was eighty degrees insunny out by the way last Thursday,

(13:13):
So uh, it was kind offunny. I felt bad for those crew
guys because they were working their buttsoff shoveling snow out and it was hitting
the pavement and melting. Um.But yeah, they did wave a bit
and uh. But the scene, the scene was very cool. Um,
it's funny too. We were talkingabout, uh, just some of the
like, uh, some of thespecifics of the scene and some of the
aesthetics of it. And I didnotice and you can see this in the

(13:37):
uh the shot that I took CaseyAffleck he's wearing this green dartmouth sweatcher and
on his right shoulder it looks tobe like a fake bloodstain with a little
like insert And I wonder if that'slike he just got shot in the arm
or something. I mean, whoknows, But um, yeah, that
was that was That was pretty muchthe scene as when I got there.

(13:58):
It was cool. Yeah, theno thing. It cracks me up because,
like I know that they have tostick to a certain schedule, so
they probably can't pick which dazed orseasons to shoot in. But that's the
Hollywood magic that they have to youknow, turn whatever. They have to
work with what they got and fortunatelythey got a lot of snow in and
hopefully it's believable in the movies andduring the during the final product. The

(14:22):
awesome part is that, yeah, not only were they at Wallace and Beach,
but as I mentioned before, we'veseen them in other parts of Quincy,
at the yacht club over there, also in Boston's North End and at
one of the most famous like bakeriesuh in there, What's Bakery in the
North End. That's a great placethat that is historic, it's well known,

(14:43):
and they closed it off, closedit up, and that whole area
too. I think they may haveused it for like um, I think
there was one character because the owneractually shared surveillance footage from inside showing I
guess one of the characters like beatingup a cashier box or something like that,
like a Boston movie. Yeah,no, this is great. And
again, the one thing that Jamieand I love about about this podcast is

(15:07):
and is because we have so muchcontent, so much stuff to talk about,
because like I said, we areHollywood East and because of the state's
film tax credit, there's much moreincentive to film things over here. And
so this is just the latest filmwith the latest actors, you know,
using our backdrop for their for theirmovies. And it's always great to see

(15:28):
boys from Boston Matt Damon and KcyAffleck come back because not only you know,
people have the adoration of just moviestars in general, but the adoration
of local boys who made it andare coming back and putting money back into
the economy. Absolutely. And James, you brought up a good point there
when you said, like you know, they're going into the They're going into
like famous parts of Boston, andlike this is I mean, I'm hoping

(15:50):
this movie is going to be great. I'm sure it will be. But
like when you talk about an authenticspot for like true Bostonians, people from
the Cell Shore. I grew upin Duxbury on the Self Shore, about
a half hour south of Boston.I was born in Boston. I am
a Self Shore kid, and likeQuincy and Wallaston Beach is kind of like
an epicenter of the Self Shore. And just to kind of point out like

(16:11):
how talented, like you mentioned likesome of these directors are. They're the
way they're able to shoot. Youknow, last week, you know,
late last week it was sunny,it was eighty degrees. We're just coming
out of our winter slumber here inNew England, and the beach was packed
and so like you had that isa crazy busy road already, so you
have state police like moving everybody aroundand a whole crowded beach down there,

(16:34):
and I was thinking of that asI was watching, and I'm like,
wow, there's so many people outhere, people walking around with like,
you know, swim trunks and youknow, bikinis and jogger So it's like
they're gonna have to mold that aroundsomehow, and I'm sure they're able to
do it brilliantly. But with thesnow and everything, Like I was thinking,
I'm like, wow, they'll makethis into magic. But it's kind

(16:55):
of cool that I'll be able towatch it and go that looks like the
middle of January, New England, but reality it was two weeks before Memorial
Day and it was like eighty fivedegrees out with the sun and everything.
Yeah, and not to too toour own horn on the Hub on Hollywood,
but every week we do give outlocal casting calls, and so people
they're always looking for people from theBoston area from Massachusetts to be background actors

(17:15):
to give the authenticity they're looking forthat And so every week we have these
new casting calls, including for theinstigators, including for other films and projects,
and so we have more stuff comingup in the future, and I'm
sure that you or I are goingto be sent very soon to another movie
sets, possibly for the Instigators orwho knows, another film that's just around
the corner, because right now itis warming up, as you mentioned,

(17:37):
and this is at the time whenthese movie studios are really cranking out film
after film acter film. But Jim, yeah, thank you so much for
joining us here on the Hub onHollywood. If we have another interaction on
the sets or anywhere else, so, we'd love to have you back on
James anytime. Man. Thank you, and a big thank you to WBZ

(17:57):
News Radio Jim McKay again. Checkhis Twitter for those photos of Matt Damon
and Casey Affleck shooting filming at WallastonBeach and Jamie. One last thing I
wanted to talk about about the writer'sstrike is that one big thing that the
writers are pushing for and that thestudios have not yet guaranteed, is that
they want they want to guarantee andensure that the writers will not be replaced

(18:19):
with AI artificial intelligence, because thefear is is that if the technology gets
better, and right now, youknow, there's no way of stopping this
new technology from getting better and potentiallywriting scripts to their own they can easily
negotiate or cut out the writers wherethey play such a minimal role, and

(18:41):
because of that they get paid minimallyas well. So that's one thing that
you know, we and the industryin general have to adapt to these new
technologies that can literally and are puttingsome businesses in jeopardy. It's pretty terrifying
all of the AI stuff that hascome out, But you need a human

(19:03):
touch overall, make sure that itjust is not garbledegook. But still,
even so, I don't believe thatAI has a place in filmmaking and storytelling
and uh, you know, inparticular telling human stories that touch people.
You mentioned like, yeah, youneed that human aspect. And the funny

(19:26):
thing is Seth Rogan. Uh,he actually talked about it too. He
said, AI can't write good TV. You'd have to shove a lot of
weed into that thing for it tobe that creative. Like you said,
you need that human touch. Andso Seth Rogan, even though it is
a real potential and you know, potential threat for the industry and for writers
in the future, you know,Seth, according to him, you know,

(19:48):
it needs that human touch and maybea little bit of weed in order
to make these shows actually good.God, well look look I can absolutely
see where we could have picture momovies about AI, like more realistically and
more modernly like thinking over the worldand um, maybe creating fake content that

(20:10):
you know, manipulates and destroys theworld, Like we've got to make a
movie about that. Would AI writethe movie about AI? You know what
I mean? Like, yeah,it's just get very inception like and very
um, I don't want to seeany of that. Actually, No to
AI, Yes to human touch um, and yes to writers getting paid.

(20:33):
Would they rightfully deserve to bring usthe the entertainment and the stories that touch
our hearts, change our lives, etcetera, etcetera. One last thing I
wanted to mention James just, Ijust it's always so funny to me when
they are shooting scenes that are meantto be in the winter but are actually
in the summer. Oh yeah, and this happens a lot, or it's

(20:56):
meant to be in the summer, but it's actually shot in the winter,
and you have got to give propsto the people, the actors, to
the background artist because they are eitherfreezing or they are sweating balls like it
is it is far said so eloquantly. I know, right, I'm just
a wordsmith. I just yeah,amazing. I a funny store. When

(21:19):
I was pregnant with Buzzie, mydaughter, I was filming a scene just
like that where it was winter.Actually it was ninety degrees outside, and
they wanted me to wear a parkup, wanted me to wear this heavy
jacket and then you know, walkinto the scene and then walk into a
business, and I'm like, Iam going to put this jacket on my

(21:40):
arm because if I do not,you are going to have a pregnant woman
passed out on the floor. Here. I'm not doing it. I'm not
putting it on. But it workedout anyway because I was wearing like the
yoga pants. It is like I'mwalking into a yoga studio. So it's
like I took off my jacket andput it on my arm and walked into
And they could even said, likethat lady in the movie who you're playing

(22:00):
back in the olden days was alsopregnant. She's having hot flashes, and
so they could they could work thatinto the script. Even though that character
doesn't say anything or do anything. We could just pretend that she's pregnant also
and is running hot right now inthe wintertime. Yeah, those are those
are rough. Those are off whenit's ninety and you're wearing a perka.
But anyways, Yeah, just ashout out of love for anyone and everyone

(22:25):
in the craft um and the moviemagic and everything that goes into it,
because it is hard, hard work. It's not as beautiful and glamorous as
you know, the ultimate final productmakes it seem. Yeah, And speaking
about the shout out of love, that leads perfectly into our next topic.
Pedro pass Scale. You know thatguy you know who who doesn't love him?

(22:48):
Well, we have just learned thathe will be starring or is in
at least negotiations to star in thesequel to Gladiator. So, according to
Deadline, sources say Pascal is inthe final negotiations to join the untitled sequel
for Paramount. He's going to bejoining the folks like Paul mescal who's starring

(23:11):
as Lucius Barry Keegan Keogan. Hewas in the Banshees of Inn is sharing
a great actor also, Joseph Quinnfrom Stranger Things starring in the in the
Ridley scott Um sequel, who RidleyScott is returning to direct as well.
I'm a big fan of Gladiator ofRussell Crowe. That's one of those classic

(23:33):
movies that you can watch over andover again, and so I'm glad that
they are making the sequel, andI'm glad that Pedro Pascal is appearing to
be on board Edolino's I mean, just like knowing more about Pedro Pascal and
like who he is as a personmakes it a little bit harder for me

(23:53):
to pick for him as a gladiator, you know what I mean. I
don't know is the perfect man ofthe job, though. Yeah, he
played a character in Game of Thronesand the kind of that kind of the
same era vibe feel, so Ithink he could fall right back into that.
I could totally see him in theGladiator gladiator verse. Yeah, so
if you think back to his rolesin in Game of Thrones, um,

(24:17):
and not only you know, physicalphysicality of that role, but like just
the smoldering, smexiness of it.He can pull anything off. But just
kind of like knowing who he isthrough like all of these viral interviews and
things like that, he's just alittle He's just a little marshmallow. He's
just so cute and adorable, umand sweet and um. I don't know

(24:41):
if you heard about them. Hisoutfit at the Met Dala, Oh yeah,
he was looking great, but therewas like a message behind it because
the theme of this year's Met Galawas Carl Logerfield, who's this great designer
for Chanel, but who noture obviously, is misogynistic, homophobic, pat phobic.

(25:03):
He's said a lot of kind ofterrible things. So that's interesting,
so why honor him? But yeah, go on. So Pedro showed up
head to toe in Valentino, whichis a co editor blogger Field, and
he even had little v logos manicuredinto his middle fingers. He was flipping
the bird to a fashion the industryinto some of those not so great things

(25:30):
that that the old Guard stands for, I suppose in fashion. So this
man is just amazing and he standsfor things in such a subtle but powerful
and beautiful way, and we lovehim and everything that he does. So
Gladiator, absolutely he must be.They're going to get them back in the
gym and whatnot. I'm interested tosee what the story is. Gladiator is

(25:52):
one of those movies that's is closeto perfect humanly possible. So it's got
to be a really good script writtenreally great writers deserved to get paid,
Thank you very much. Absolutely. Now speaking about some other great stuff and
great actors that that we love tosee Willem Dafoe. Who doesn't love Willem
Dafoe either, Well, apparently thecast of Beetle Juice too. They love

(26:18):
him so much that he will bejoining the sequel along with Jenna Ortega and
Michael Keaton. Right now, thefilm is in production this week. Tim
Burton is at the Helm directing theoriginal release nineteen eighty eight. That's crazy,
so long ago, but as wementioned, Jenna Ortega leading the cast
with Michael Keaton, who was reprisinghis role as Beetle Juice, and when

(26:38):
Nona Ryder is also coming back.Jenna Ortega will be playing Whenona Wryter's daughter
in the film. So no wordyet on what William Dafoe or what the
main plots of the sequel is goingto be. But I'm a big Beetle
Juice fan. Big I was alsoa big fan of the animated series that
came out after the film, Soyeah, I'm glad that the sequel will

(27:02):
come back, and I'm always afan of bringing back like the original actors
on the next chapter, having WinonaWriter back, Um, the Beatles verse
is that? Yeah? Yeah. And bringing Jenna Rtega in like that is
so in her wheelhouse. Um,that's so Jenna, Like I'm very typecast,

(27:23):
right though. She really really likesthese kinds of movies, like the
horror, the goth like. She'sreally she's really into it. It's very
It's very much in line with herpersonality as well. So I'm happy to
see that, you know, she'sgetting more work like that, and they're
all fantastic, fantastic actor. MichaelKeaton did you say Michael Keaton reprising his

(27:45):
role as Beetles Juice. Yeah, one of the most underrated, Um,
I think one of the most underratedactors out there, Like Michael Keaton transformed
in these incredible ways. So stellarcast. Uh baby, looking forward to
that one. But you know what, you know what, you know what.

(28:08):
Sometimes I'm sorry. Sometimes you canhave a really great cast but things
don't work well, oh no,it doesn't really come together. You can
have the most phenomenal actors, butsometimes the writing is not quite there.

(28:30):
Okay, Sometimes it's no, sometimesit's a hit, sometimes it's a miss.
And uh, there's a show that'sup on Prime right now that I
feel it's a little bit of amiss. I might be in the minority
here, I don't know, butum, the suspense is killing me.
Okay, have you seen Citadel?I have not. I have not seen

(28:52):
Citadel. I've heard about it.I've seen the publicity in the in the
posters for it publicity. Yeah, yeah, for this one. Um,
it's a brand news spy thriller.Um. So basically the plot is this
global spy agency called Citadel has fallenand the memories of its agents have been
erased, and now this powerful mancorecrime syndicate is feeling the power of vacuum

(29:17):
and they're you know, they're behindall of these horrible things that are happening
all over the world, and theCitadel agents must remember their past and find
the strength to think back. Right. Yeah. Look, and it's like
Citadel is like this organization of superspies. They're superspies for good And okay,
look, cast got Richard Madden, who my boy. If you guys had

(29:45):
you know, have listened to theHub on Hollywood, we had an episode
where we're talking about who should bethe next James Bond. Absolutely, Richard
Madden was my number one. We'vegot Prenca Chopra, Stanley Tucci, m
just it's a great ca. However, oh no, okay, Rotten Tomatoes
has this at fifty three percent.I really have to agree with that score.

(30:11):
You know, they're beautiful people wholook beautiful on screen, you know,
sumptuous cinematography and whatnot. Story Jamesthe story um so cliche, and
I'm so sad to say that.Um the storyline. No, it's just

(30:37):
it feels very formulaic. Characters aresort of two dimensional, and it's like
it's like what we've seen every other'sby drama, like less interesting, with
less depth, and the steaks likeyou don't feel the steaks, like you
don't feel like, oh, anybodycould die at any moment, because it's

(30:59):
like, no, the good guyhave to win and they've got like this
journey to go on. It's likeit feels predictable and cliche storylines. Not
even these beautiful faces can like well, and don't get me wrong, near
gorgeous and great to look at.Then they open their mouths and say their
lines and it's like, ah no, and what kills me the most?

(31:22):
Okay, and I really don't wantto like pooh poo on this show too
much, But here's what kills methe most and what makes me like I
rate like I think that this showcould have been like twenty five percent better
if they had just let Richard Maddenspeak in his real accent. Reason for

(31:44):
some reason, it made him Americanand he has this like weird, choppy,
all over the place American accent. And it's like one episode he sounds
like he's from Chicago, and nowhe's from New Jersey, and now he's
from California. Like the accent. His American accent is like super inconsistent.

(32:07):
It's it's very distracting. Man isbeautiful. He has a beautiful accent.
Let him uses damn accent. It'sa spy dril or you know what I
mean, Like ye should should makesense that he has that a British international
accent or or Scottish or I'm sosorry, I apologize. I you know,
I don't know exactly exact origin ofhis beautiful, beautiful accent. I

(32:30):
just know that it is amazing, and why aren't they letting him use it
like that would make me show awhole twenty five percent better if they just
let him be him, and insteadI have to like hear this nails on
the chalkboard kind of accent is allover the place and completely takes me out
of it immediately. I'm sorry, rich Oh goodness, Well, well he

(32:51):
is Scottish. If it means anythingbut Scottish accent, you delete what I
said before, his beautiful, beautifulScottish accent. Um. If they you
know, if he does becomes Blowseven, if he does become the next
James Bond, no problem. Hecan use his accent. The writing is
much better, presumably, But unfortunatelyI have to give Citadel on Amazon Prime

(33:14):
like four out of ten shirtless KyloRens. It's um. I was really
really hoping for more. Also, you know, very beautiful cinematography, but
there's this one camera angle where theyhave the camera and it's just like spinning
around and like you start upside downand then you come right side up and
like you're spinning in circles. Verycreative, very beautiful. Uh, use

(33:37):
it way too much. It's likeevery other scene is spinning camera shot.
I'm like, I get it.I know it's a nice shot, can
we I can't see. I'm gettingdizzy. It's not it's not funny.
It's not fun anymore because they've justoverused it. I'm so sorry. I
really really really wanted to like thisone more. I'm really picky. So

(34:00):
maybe you'll enjoy. It's got greataction sequences, you know, great cinematography,
like I said, but yeah, for me, the story is just
not there. And I'm so sorry, so sorry you heard it here.

Good Burger Too extras at gmail dotcom. Excellent. Well, um yeah,
like we said, we don't havethat many this this uh this week
of casting calls, But hopefully thingsramp up, hopefully the writers strike wraps

(37:29):
up as well, and that ifit is affecting the local cast and calls,
hopefully that we see a reverse trendof this. But um, yeah,
