And we're starting to see the sun peek out partly, Sonny.
A few clouds out in Boston. Fifty four degrees at
eleven o'clock. Good Sunday morning. It's November ninth. I'm Sherry Small.
Here's what's happening. Days after a cargo plane exploded and
crashed at Louisville Airport, killing fourteen people, ups is hit
with a class action lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of someone who lived
near the crash site, and two impacted businesses. Ups Ge,
which made the plane's engine, and Boeing, the maker of
the plane, have all been sued. The lawsuit claims Tuesday's
crash was like a bomb and alleged the companies failed
to maintain the aircraft. At least fourteen people died in
the crash and several more are still missing. I'm Tammy Trheo.

It is now day forty in the longest government shut
down in US history, and the Senate is resuming a
rare week session. We get the latest on that from
CBS's Christian Benevitez.

Democrats offered a plan that would extend Obamacare text credits
for a year and fund the government. Doing nothing is
derelict because people will go bankrupt, people will lose insurance,
people will get sicker. Republicans want the government to reopen
before negotiating on healthcare. Some forty two million Americans on
food Stamps are left waiting for assistance after the program

ran out of funds.

And the shutdown, causing long lines at food banks. By
SNAP recipients going without their benefits. However, here in Massachusetts,
Governor Morra Heeley says that SNAP benefits went out yesterday
to recipients, but it is unclear what recipients will get
moving forward. A huge burst of flames near the campus

of UMass Amherst destroys an apartment building and causes a
construction site to collapse. Here's WBC'SMA Privement.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Amherst Firefighters' Union calling it one of the largest fires
the community has seen. The blaze broke out Friday night,
a building under construction on Olympia Drive catching on fire.
Amhurst firefighters say there were several explosions at the construction
site that were likely from fuel tanks. UMSS Amherst says
the University, Town and building management are working to support

student renters who were living in the apartment building now destroyed.
Nobody was injured, but over two hundred and thirty people
have been displaced. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.

Honda to tell you about the automaker recalling more than
four hundred thousand Honda Civix because the wheels may come
off while moving. It affects model years twenty sixteen through

cause the wheel nuts to loosen and eventually detach. Honda
says owners should take their car to a dealer for
an inspection. All right, we all know what it's like
to get caught up in Friday evening traffic, but imagine this.

are set to launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Sunday.
The Twins spacecraft will be managed from UC Berkeley, Space
Sciences Laboratory and are expected to reach Mars by twenty
twenty seven. Their mission aims to create a three D
map of the red planet's magnetic fields and atmosphere. SFGate
