Speaker 2 (00:10):
Long ninety three point one w p C.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Now.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
I was friends on Saturday night and we were talking
about the plane crash situation, and I said to them like, hey,
is it Are we having more plane incidents or are
we just getting reported more to us?
Speaker 5 (00:33):
I think it's both. Well, she said.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
One of my friends said that she saw the New
York Times article that said that we that they are
reporting it a lot more right on, like purposefully.
Speaker 5 (00:42):
Yeah, but there was something last night that happened.
Speaker 6 (00:45):
Yeah, there was a Delta flight leaving Atlanta headed to
South Carolina, just barely in the air, and the entire
cabin with eighty plus people on it, a number of
you know.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Flight attendants and whatever.
Speaker 6 (00:59):
So you got nine people are so up in the
air and the entire aircraft fills with smoke in the cabin.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
And they came on.
Speaker 6 (01:06):
And said, ladies and gentlemen, you're gonna have to do this,
but breathe through your clothing. Everybody's like like this, Well.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
That's all they could do.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
I know, I would freak.
Speaker 6 (01:17):
I think people were coughing, and the pilot's like, we've
got to get this plane back on the ground. And
they returned to Atlanta Airport.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:27):
So everyone's okay, but another scary Yeah. I don't love
I don't love this. Yeah, it's it's it's definitely odd.
There's a lot it just doesn't seem to stop.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
It's important to keep in mind that there are thousands
of flights every day, so if you're flying, you'll be fine.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
Yeah, take a mask with you.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
We want to take a moment to recognize four police
officers just in the last few days have died of
gunshot gunfire. We've heard the stories in Pennsylvania and in Virginia.
So if you're okay with this, let me just read
their names and we'll have a moment because this story
(02:05):
it just kills me. I mean, you look around and
everywhere you go, somebody's getting shot. Patrolman Andrew William Duarte
was from the West York Borough up in York, Pennsylvania.
He died of gunfire on Saturday. Police officer Cameron Robert
gervin Virginia Beach Police Department end of watch was Also
(02:26):
on Saturday, police officer Christopher M. L Reese, Virginia Beach
Police Department. End of watch was on Saturday gunfire and
another officer which didn't make the news as much around here,
but Deputy Sergeant Martin Shields Junior from the Hines County
Sheriff's Office in Mississippi same thing.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Gunfire. End of watch was on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
So I just wanted to recognize because I know we
have a lot of police officers to listen. I feel
that it's you know, at least we can do is
recognize their contrabution, which is huge what you guys and
girls do every single day.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
So we'll give you a moment of silence and then
we'll roll on with the show.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Ninety three point one WPOC Traffic.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
I've got a big surprise, is that right? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (03:20):
Morgan Wallen there right, So at seven point fifteen this morning,
we're gonna have a snippet of a new song from Morgan.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
That's all I can say to.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
Keep us in the loop of entertainment and pop culture
and the things we shouldn't care about but somehow we
really do.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
On ninety three point one POC.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
So the hairstyle is for the Kardashian Jenner clan has
passed away at only thirty four.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
I know thirty four. Yeah, cause of.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
Death hasn't been revealed, but Kylie Jenner is paying for
all the funeral costs.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Terrible.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
I think that's nice of her.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Rihanna has some new music coming out, and I'm really excited.
It's been a minute she's been working on lingerie and makeup.
She's working on it now, no release date yet. What.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
I just love our variety of music tastes. Yeah, I'm
like getting excited about Morgan. You're like Rihanna, we got
it all covered. I love that well.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
I love how Jelly Roll said recently, like you don't
have to be a certain thing to be country, And
I love that because I like all different kinds of music.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Right, I'm assuming a lot of our listeners.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
Do you know what I love is that these days
we all have everything on our phones, every kind of music,
you know what I mean. You don't have to be
segmented into a certain thing.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
And like on the new iHeartRadio app that we have,
you can like save presets of different things that you like,
so I can have like country and you know, and
mapp and R and B and all that.
Speaker 6 (04:44):
You just reminded me. I don't want to get off
a track of Bethany's brief. Sure, but while we're at it,
can you please do us a favor, Michael J and
Bethany here and put ninety three point one WPOC on
your number one preset. Yeah, we'd appreciate. We want to
be first. We don't want to be second or third.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
We want to be your first, pre one touch to
get to us.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
You got it, That's what we want.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
None of the songs from Wicked were nominated for an
Academy Award this year, but Cynthia Everio and Ariana Grande
are still opening the show with a Wicked montage. Sunday
are the Oscars at seven pm on ABC.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
I'll give you a full recap.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Have you heard about this tunnel, undersea tunnel that's supposed
to be connecting New York City with London?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
What I know?
Speaker 4 (05:28):
It sounds insane, right, It's like a theoretical idea, the
Transatlantic Tunnel. It's supposed to be costing seven hundred Wait wait,
it's gonna cost nineteen trillion dollars and it would cost
seven hundred years to build.
Speaker 6 (05:44):
Are we gonna drive through the tunnel, or are you
gonna walk into what are we gonna do?
Speaker 4 (05:47):
It's like a vacuum, kind of like at the bank,
those like oh a tube, yep, and so like it'll,
I guess suck you across the ocean, which is really
a dream that I've always had.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
All right, and then lastly, the.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
World feels crazy right now, So I found this thing
about here are some things that you should stop worrying
about because they don't matter, all right? Okay, Number five
holding on to grudges stop Number four chasing external success.
Number three winning every argument, Oh my god, don't we
all know people that need to win every argument. You
(06:24):
don't have to do that. Number two trying to impress
other people.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Stop it.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
And the number one thing you should stop doing caring
what other people think about you. Oh really, I can't
stop that.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Ninety three point one POC traffic.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
That one's too hard. You cross the line there.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
It would be easier to build the Transatlantic Tunnel. Okay,
BW parkways outbound after six ninety.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
Five, Next moved to the shoulder.
Speaker 6 (06:50):
It we all need some help now, and again, right,
little favor would be nice here at ninety three point
one WPOC Is there something that your significant your spouse,
your honey, bunny, your boo is doing that makes you
absolutely cru is there?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
So for me? Why am I in my like current situation?
Speaker 6 (07:16):
It's very like new and like so it's exciting and yeah,
there's you're not on each other's last night. I'm probably
I'm the annoying one. Well, listen to this woman real
quickly checked in. Go ahead, you're in the air.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
I am my husband's friggin spell check every time?
Speaker 5 (07:32):
How do you spell this? How do you spell that?
Speaker 4 (07:35):
You know, dude, use a dictionary, use your phone?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Hey, Google, how do you spell Wednesday?
Speaker 6 (07:42):
Well, she's gonna be spelling something else. I think, very sick.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
What's that country song where it's like, you know my
ex husband?
Speaker 1 (07:57):
I don't think I've ever said this to anyone before.
I'm listening hot secret.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
You got me when we would be like, you know,
doing doing some stuff right, like you sniffle and I
was the biggest.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Pick, like here's a box of tissues. No, oh, so
that's why I got divorced. Well, I'm sure there was
more to that story.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
What about l take you off? Or are you the
annoying one?
Speaker 5 (08:29):
I think I definitely am annoying.
Speaker 6 (08:31):
I'm sure at many points we both snore and it's
funny because I say you snore and she's like, well,
you snore too.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
So you guys are in there like, yeah, we're alternate.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Can you imagine what it must sound like in the
middle of the night.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Your kids are like, were you plase kid been.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Down in there?
Speaker 5 (08:55):
I'm not that.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
Luke on ninety three point one WDPOC. Have you heard
about our Michael, Jy and Bethany penny pickup from apple
Ford this week? So we've been collecting hundreds and hundreds
of dollars. We have not added it up, and that's
really not the focus right this second. Right now, we're
just trying to get out and get your pennies before
(09:21):
they say they're gone useless.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
Yeah, they're going.
Speaker 6 (09:24):
To stop making them, and I guess this is the year,
so you know they'll be coput.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
That'll be it.
Speaker 6 (09:30):
And we're giving all of the pennies we collect in
our penny pickup thanks to apple Ford to Saint Jude,
which I'll admit, I think it's one of the best.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
Charities in the universe.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I agree.
Speaker 6 (09:43):
You know, we've been there. We go every few years
to learn about what they're doing. It just overwhelms me
with the feeling that yeah, there is hope, Yes with cancer.
People are doing good things out there Today at twelve noon,
Yeva who's driving that her name's Ava Yeva, but we
call her. She's going to be taking the truck to
(10:05):
Pizza John's at twelve noon. All right, this accomplishes two things.
One lunch. It's going to be a beautiful day. We're
gonna have sun in you know, low six gonna be
almost Yeah, why not.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Go out for lunch?
Speaker 6 (10:17):
And I mean I'll give a free plug to Pizza
John's because we're going to be in there parking lot.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Sure.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
Right, that's at one thirteen back River Neck Road in Essex.
We'll be there for at least an hour or so
starting at noon. If you're in the area, all we
ask is you throw some pennies any change you have
in our pickup truck.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, we're trying to just take those pennies off your hands.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
Now. We had a really nice lady. I think her
name is Sharon if I remember, is it Pevco? Yes,
she works at Pevco, which is Bowie's Quarter. Well, she
said Middle River Bulis quarters. But she's close enough. She
was wondering if we were coming to her. You know,
I know you're in the back of an industrial park. Hey, Sharon,
here's your chance. Tell the boss got to go out
(11:00):
for lunch to Pizza John's today.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Very important.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
Eron, yeah and get on over and you know, throw
some pennies in the back of our truck if you
can do it. Big shout out to to Pevco because
apparently they've been collecting pennies for the last several days.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
At their office. That's cool.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
You got to help out. We love you guys for
doing that. So thank you.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Ninety three point one WP.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Yeah, I'm going, baby.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I'm going ninety three point one WPO C.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Now, Truity, we're thinking about everybody that was involved in
that hospital shooting in York, Pennsylvania.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Please say that the shooter was holding the.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Staff hostages on Saturday in the ICU and threatening to
kill one in the hallway when several officers opened fire
in office. Sir Andrew Duarte and the gunmen were both
killed in the shootout.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Five others were wounded.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Apparently Ortisse, the gunman, he was targeting the ICU because
he had a family member who was treated and died
there within the last week, and he was having a
difficulty so excepting it.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
Yeah, and you know, there's another interesting twist about this
that's this heartbreaking. Earlier this morning, we had a salute
and had a moment of silence for four our officers
who have died in the line of duty just in
the past four days. But two of these officers, officers
Cameron Gervin and Andrew Duarte, who you just mentioned, they
(12:41):
were both Ocean City, Maryland.
Speaker 5 (12:44):
Police officers at one point.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
And it's a small police you know.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
The thing that's that's great about policing, Even though you
might be part of a small organization, you're a part
of a big brother and sister her family exactly. So
when one family hurts, all officers stand and salute. But
these two officers at one point were both in Ocean City,
Maryland Police So it just it's so sad all the
(13:09):
way around. One other story, real quick, and Arundo County
got hacked yesterday and.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
Employees were working for home.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
I guess this morning they're still working from home in
Anrondo County after this cyber attack. And they said They're
going to get everything back to normal asap. But these
cyber criminals that are probably in India someplace messing with
our computers, you know.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Ninety three point one WPOC traffic.
Speaker 5 (13:36):
They got to get a bit. It's hard to enforce.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
Yeah, and they're spreading ransomware, which means they take over
your computer and they demand money, and I mean it's
it can really really mess things up.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
So good luck in Anroundo County sorting out the computers.
Speaker 4 (13:52):
US twenty nine southbound between two sixteen and the Howard
Montgomery County line, and extant reported there. Things are crawling
back from John Hopkins Road eight ninety five between Ravio
Road and the Harbor Tunnel backed up now twenty minutes.
It looks like eighty three southbound between Saint Paul Street
and Fayette Street. It's still very slow right now.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
And BW. Parkway northbound between Waterview and Bush Street really slow.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
Hey, Denny's is now added to the list of places
charging extra for.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Eggs eggs surcharge.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
The eggs are just what are they? Nine bucks for
a dust? It's crazy.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
See when it knows something dumb.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
I was doing an online grocery order the other day
and I saw the the you know the thing that's
like chocolate that looks like an egg carton, and it
was like a dollar seventy five and I was like, oh, Like,
I was like, oh, did eggs go back down?
Speaker 1 (14:39):
I was like, no, dummy, those are chocolate.
Speaker 6 (14:41):
We have got eggs, fifty dollars worth of eggs or
whatever you'd like to buy at Wise Markets.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Yeah, why don't we give that a wave right now?
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (14:50):
Eight hundred three two one thirty six ninety three sponsored
by eBay.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
Now.
Speaker 6 (14:56):
I watched these judge shows, Judge Mathis and all of them.
I think I to be a judge Judge Michael J. Like,
you testify right now, show you how I would do it.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I promise. I wasn't there. I was washing my hair.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
I would just have jelly roll in my courtroom.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
Okay, So all right, congratulations, we do have a winner.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
I believe they are. What do you You were.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Talking about the price of eggs and they're just ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Yes, they are.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
What is the most expensive thing that you're like irritated
about right now? Definitely the cost of eggs.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
We eat a lot of eggs.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
Do you?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (15:32):
How many do you think you go through a week
you have a family.
Speaker 6 (15:35):
Yes, Oh wow, so that's like eighteen bucks a week
just for eggs.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (15:42):
Think about that.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
Used to be a really cheap way to feed your family,
like protein, and you know what I mean, And it's
not anymore. I mean hopefully it'll go back down eventually.
Speaker 6 (15:51):
Well, the good news is, Courtney from Rosedale, You've got
a fifty dollars gift card from Wise Markets. They're all
about National Heart Month and whyse market to supporting the
American Heart Association And we're hooking you up at the groceries.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
So get as many eggs as you like to keep.
Speaker 7 (16:07):
Us in the loop of entertainment and pop culture and
the things we couldn't care about, but somehow we really do.
As Beth Brea on ninety three point one WOC.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
So we lost Roberta Flack, the R and B singer
best known for Killing Me Softly, has died.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
And what is sing my version of that song? Ah,
killing Me Softly with his song Cude.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
It's really that's really nice. I think Roberta would like that.
She was eighty eight. Uh okay, l Trotwig, the Veterans
Sports broadcaster died at the age of sixty eight. Leicester
Holt plans on stepping down as anchor of NBC.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
What up with that? Lester Holt sick or something going on.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
He's going to focus on Dateline NBC. So he's not
leaving NBC altogether, But that's crazy. This departure follows other
recent exits such as Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell. NBC
News has not commented on the potential successor I Now.
Rachel Maddow meanwhile, has blasted her own network MSNBC for
(17:11):
firing Joy Read. She said, I think it is a
bad mistake to let her walk out the door.
Speaker 6 (17:16):
I've always thought it's not a good idea to bad
mouth the people that are paying your check, just saying
uh huh.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Unless something really is going on over there, I'd be interested. Okay,
So Joanne Fabrics closing all of their stores. I told
you guys last week they were closing most of their stores.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Now they're like, whatever, we're doing that.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
No one sews anymore. Remember my mom used to have
a sewing machine. I'm sure she probably still does. I
wouldn't know what to do with one of those.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Yeah, I think it's like maybe a pastime that's kind
of going away, sorry, Joanne. Social media users are sharing
that they're using a shopping trip to Costco as a
date night, calling it Kirkland's signature date night. Really, and
Reddit users are even suggesting that a kids club be
added so folks can drop off their kids while they're
on their Costco do somehow, I.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
Don't think Costco is gonna like the kids running around. No, well,
remember Ikea.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
I don't know if they still do, but Ikia used
to have a kid's club and I thought that was
always really helpful. And then, lastly, what's your favorite gas
station snack?
Speaker 6 (18:14):
I don't generally get food at the gas station. I
like to fill up my car in then I leave.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
And then you go.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
I only do on road trips, and I think I'm
like a. I mean, there's Royal Farms, but then I
know Royal Farm cells gas. But I usually just go
to Royal Farms for chicken.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Here are the top five and weigh in on text.
By the way, sevens of an nine to six to two.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Begin your message with higher hay snickers number five checks
mix number four not me, No, Taketo's number three beef jerky. No, exactly,
he is a beef jerky. I do not like beef jerky.
I tried it once and I just didn't care for it.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Should you, guys, should we guess what the number one is.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
I'm just I'm crashing my brain and nothing's coming.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
I like Combos wasn't on the list.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
Combos isn't No like Oreo cookies, these little coos Oreo
cookie facks.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
It's a rice krispy tree.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Oh. Poc traffic.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
BW Parkway is northbound between Waterview Avenue counting the sty.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
Road. We're gonna get up to sixty today. And I
cannot wait during this hog. I can't wait Cathany to
be able to go fishing.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
First thing in the morning.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
You're gonna go down by the river.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
No, I go down to Chesapeake Bay.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
I go down.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
I go down and like and go out and are
you rid?
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Do you fish?
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (19:41):
I didn't know that about rock fishing, baby, That is
what the stripers. I'm telling you. I gotta take you fishing.
It is so much fun and relaxing. You're standing in
the boat and you're casting and you're catching a fish.
Every now and again, and you're looking at nature and
you're smelling the water and you're seeing the Maryland.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
I'm telling you Maryland streak.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
Me as a fisher man, all we are so blessed
to be living where we live. And the chest at
peak pass so much pretty water, oh my, and so
many great fish that need to be caught.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
And rockfish is one of my favorite yumy fish tea.
Speaker 6 (20:17):
Good eating that's how you say that, good eating, baby
All right now here at ninety three point one WPOC
Michael J and Bethany.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
We got a couple of things going on the text
line seven seven nine six two Hi or hey to
begin your message, and you can weigh in on anything
we're talking about. We were talking about your favorite gas
station snacks and I said, my name is Combos, and
somebody agrees with me Combos all the way. That doesn't
beat rockfish. Although they had rockfish at the gas station,
(20:44):
I probably would pass.
Speaker 5 (20:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
So then we also.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
Were talking about how Joanne Fabric is closing, and someone
said it it's so sad that Joanne is closing. Some
people still do so and this is why Amazon flourishes
because all the stores are closing. But I don't almost
wonder if it's the other way around. And then someone
else said, Hi, people still sew. There's a whole grand
millennial community of stitchers out there, and we're so sad
(21:09):
about Joanne's clothing.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
Well, I know, there's like knitters and there's all kinds
of you know, but sewing, like, my mom used to
make our clothes. So is that what you're talking about
or is that a hobby like we literally that's where
we got our clothes from.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Yeah, no, I think well, I mean, I if my
Instagram reels algorithm is correct, there are a lot of
people who like either repurpose clothing now, so they'll they'll
go thrifting and they'll find stuff and then they'll like,
you know what I mean, that's a technical term.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
I just you're flat.

because it was a little clown and it had a
dunce cap that she had rolled newspaper and put it.
