Hello, Killing Nash, Good morning. Tomorrow is Wednesday, and then Turkey
Day and then Friday, which isParty Day, Black Friday, Black Friday
as well. Yeah, I'm focusingon Friday night, Old Friday night,
when Patrick Davis comes to town. We've got a big, big concert,
big party, getting ready for Gamecockfootball by the being by the boom.
(00:21):
It's the Jonathan to Kelly Doubles SecretProbationary Hotline ringing Kelly Nash. Welcome on
the phone, Patrick Davis, Hellosir, Good morning, Hey boys,
Hey I'm doing good morning, Goodmorning. It's already time again for the
Midnight Choir to come to town forthe Toys for Tots to go to be
Friday night, right the night beforethe game Cocks be Clemson for second year
in a row. I got that'sgood. I mean, you did it
(00:42):
last year. You called it,and now you call it every year that
we're going to win, but youdid call it it every year. I'm
one for six so far, butI feel good about this year. Two
for seven is coming up. Soall right, Well, let's talk about
the big event because I know, outside of the fact it's a fundraiser for
Toys for Tots, or other thingsthe way, so people get involved in
contributions to the like and get ticketsand stuff. So tell me about the
(01:03):
big event. Well, basically, you know, I wanted to do a
show back home. It's hard toget home, you know that often,
and I said, you know,it'd be great to do it around the
holidays, with Thanksgiving and the BigGame. Kind of the perfect opportunity.
So I've done this for seven years. Just be the seventh year in a
row, and we ask everybody tobring toys out. You know, you
grab your ticket and your table andalso bring toys and we fill the stage.
(01:27):
Actually during the show, we fillthe stage with all the toys.
And the first year, you know, seven years ago, it was you
know, maybe thirty or forty toyson the stage, and now we have
hundreds and hundreds. It is reallyone of my favorite nights of the year.
And it is an incredible evening. The there's unicorns on stage, there's
bicycles, there's you know, Barbiedolls, you name it. We put
(01:48):
them all over. There's nowhere tomove on the stage and it makes me
so happy. And you know, toys, Scots, guys come out and
we've done probably I don't even knoweight or ten of those big boxes every
year. So it's it's a feelgood evening. There's no other way to
describe it. It just it justreally makes you get into the Christmas spirit
and I look forward to it everyyear. We're talking with Camden's Patrick Davis,
who I'm gonna say is the secondmost famous Gamecock musician, but behind
(02:14):
I'll just say Hoody and the Blowfishas one we'll say Darius whatever. But
you do a lot with with Hoodyand also with a lot of the other
South Carolina musicians. Do you everdo anything with Lee Brice or is he
off limits because he's a Clemson fan? No? Not, Lee's could be
for me from something. You know. Lee actually grew up until he was
in about the sixth grade and Camden, so he was kind of over in
(02:36):
my neck of the woods when youdid younger. Yeah, he did,
and then he moved over to Sumpterand and you know, even though he's
a Clemson boy, you know,he's still stuck Carolina boys. That Trump's
everything right there, you know. But we don't do a lot of talking
on that particular Saturday. Let's keepit friendly around here, brother, yeah,
I know what that's like. Allof us now South have family members
that win Astroy. Yeah, theycan't help it. The Marines are the
(02:58):
ones who put on the toys forand if you go to their Toys for
Tot's website, you can see thedifferent age groups at they're requesting, because
sometimes in your mind you're thinking Ijust want them for little kids or whatever,
but they supply a whole range ofchildren with toys, and so there's
a lot of recommendations there which aregreat items to bring with you to the
show. Now, when you goto the show, you not only come
(03:20):
out with the midnight Choir, Andfor people who haven't seen a midnight choir
show, this is like you're ina full suit and everybody's very dressed up,
and it's a different It's not likea typical country concert, although there
are some country songs performed, allkinds of rhythm and blues and just fantastic
music perform. But then a lotof times you bring up a lot of
a lot of guests. Always tryto figure out who's in town, who's
available to come out, and sometimesit's musicians and sometimes it's gang cop it's
(03:45):
Tanny Hills in town. He alwaysjumps on stage. It's you know,
Corey, Corey Miller. It's hardto keep Corey Miller off the staate.
He thinks he's a musician. Noone's gonna tell me. It's not like
I'm like, yeah, you werething, come on, old cock.
That's that's it. That's what itdoes. And then and then I'll ask
the thing. It'll be like, well, Darius gonna be here, so
(04:05):
can I sing? Let her cry? You know. Definitely, it's a
lot of fun because we are ableto bring in anyone that's in town that
I know is going to be therefor the game, especially when it's a
game that's at home. You know, a lot. We do this every
year the Friday after Thanksgiving. Youknow, sometimes it's it's not possible to
uh to have people in town becausethey're up in Clempson. But for this
(04:25):
this particular game, with everybody beingin for the game, hopefully we'll have
a few surprise guests that I don'teven know about yet. So it's it's
a good time. And and Ialways appreciate you guys put me on and
everything and uh and for supporting itbecause it is something that really does make
the holiday season. For me,it kicks off the holidays. Christis and
every year it's a nice thing fornot you know, not just myself,
but for the Midnight Choir and forI think everybody that comes out, even
(04:47):
Clemson folks are welcome. We'll allbe social like a family. Just don't
start running your mouth. Yeah yeah, we're all in this together. Until
you start running your mouth. Tokeep a civil tongue in your mouth,
you gotta say something. Just singalong with the Midnight Choir and Patrick Days.
Here's a good thing. Though. You know, we've both had our
trials and tribulations this year, sothat makes it a little easier to deal
with. But you know, likeI said, there's a there's definitely a
(05:10):
different feeling. Clinton Carolina weekend isalways one of the more fun weekends South
Carolina, and so being a partof that, you know, like I
said, in a small way, while the game's in Columbia, it doesn't
get much better than that on aFriday night. It's okay if we talk
a little smack to each other Saturday, but on Friday night we're all together
and having a great time for acommon cause and celebrating the fact that we
live in the best place in theworld. Now I understand it's your dad's
(05:30):
turning seventy. He looks great. You know, he's doing pretty well.
We're trying to get one of hisknees worked one. Once he gets that
need replaced, he's gonna be backrunning marathon. He's one of the best
guitar players in the world. It'sactually a lot of fun to you know,
come home, because I get himon the stage and he loves it
and just it is like a familyaffair. This Friday night, it's a
PEP rally, it's a midnight choirmusic festival. It's a fundraiser for Toys
(05:53):
for Tots, it's a people watchingevent. And Patrick Davis as your host.
Man, it's so good to talkto you again. I'm excited about
your show Friday night. Good talkingto you guys. Boys. I always
appreciate it. And yeah, nexttime we talk, maybe it'll be two
in a row for our game.Come out there right now. That will
be a blast as usual, Yes, sir, Okay, Now what else
(06:15):
we got to talk about on Wednesday'sprogram. If you go to the Morning
Rest blog in ninety seven five WCOSdot Com you'll see there's a we have
compiled a like a group of ideasto help you eat healthy this Thanksgiving week.
Well, and that's the interesting thingin this survey, seventy two percent
of Americans basically say bump it,bump it. Seventy two percent said not
(06:40):
giving a what what not? Eatwhat I want when I want, and
I'll get back to it in January. That's right, So now till January,
just let it go. Tuck thoseresolutions away till January. We're not
worry about that. Are you oneof those people? Oh, totally,
Sally allows you. Well, I'mdown to one eighty four, which is
my goal? What is your goalby for January? Oh, I don't
(07:04):
have I don't. I don't tryto put a lid on it. Brother,
it was My goal is two twenty. I could put on a COVID
nineteen again and work it off likeI did before. I know I can
do that, all right. Soanyway, we'll be talking about all that
tomorrow'll getting ready for big Thanksgiving Day. On the morning rush, Hey,
what's going on in your neighborhood? We have somebody called up or actually let

hit the top bat button, itautomatically is a message that comes back to
us. And he seemed a littledown and out. Well, he was
trying to find that way that hecould let us know ideas that he wanted
to hear us, you know, bat around or possibly even dilemmas that he
would like to hear solved by themorning rush of regulars. And you could
(07:48):
do it. You could just leaveit right there a talkback feature, or
you could email us. It's aNash at nine seventy five to WCS dot
