(00:00):
Well, look at this Kelly NashSpecial in studio guest Kurt Lytton from Caliber
Coffee, Hello with a holiday offering. Oh keep that under wraps for a
second, because on the phone,I've got us Army commands. Sargeant Retired
Jim Wortman, Good morning, morning, Jim, Hey, good morning.
I'm great. It is a busyweek for you because this Sunday the VETS
Ride for the twenty third year. Most people know it starts at Carolina Honda,

(00:24):
but you really get excited when weactually get to dorm Va, when
all the motorcycles show up and moreimportantly, all the trucks that are delivering
all the gifts that persons are goingout of their way to give for the
VETS Ride. When we get todorm Via, we're always excited because we're
able to see some of the ambulatorypatients that will receive some of the gifts.
Obviously, love the idea of bringingChristmas to every single veteran that's in

(00:47):
that hospital. Well, one ofthe things that you're most proud of,
I know, and Jean Royer bragsabout it as well, is that every
dollar goes directly to the VETS atdorm Va. You're one hundred percent right,
and you know you do not haveto ride a motorcycle to participate in
this event. If you go tovestride dot org and donate even ten dollars,
you have no idea what impact thatwill be. This year, the

(01:10):
giving has been very slow. We'reone hundred percent aware that what the economy
is out there. Think about onething. If you can spare ten or
twenty dollars for a veteran that hasno Christmas, none, and the only
Christmas they get is what we bringthem, That's what gives me the great
joy. Jim. I was lookingat your gift suggestions, and obviously cash
is awesome, as well as giftcards to some of the stores. But

(01:33):
some of the other things that you'rerecommending, they don't even seem like they
would be like a traditional Christmas present, like a thing like toilet articles,
backpacks, soft candy, slippers. But these are all valued by the vets.
Huh, they sure aren't, becausewhen they were in the hospital,
everything that they got they have topay for. So you have no idea.

(01:56):
Socks, underwear, T shirts, they love, sweatshirt, they love
ball camps, anything that you givethem a lot of times when they give
them the first distribution they start, the first thing they'll say is I can't
afford this, And when they findout that it's free, a lot of
times they'll actually cheer up because theycan't believe somebody thought about them. Well,
I'll be bragging about all of ourcorporate sponsorships on Sunday when we have

(02:20):
our broadcast to kick it off atCarolina Honda before the ride over the dorm
VA. But one of the peoplethat came in the studio today from Caliber
Coffee and Palmetto State Armory, KurtLinton. He's actually here for the support
of the Vets, but also forTroop three twenty four. Absolutely, yeah,
so thank you for having me.Jonathan, Jim and Jean do a
lot of the heavy lifting. We'redoing a small part, but we're happy
to team up with the Boy ScoutsTroop three twenty four again this year and

(02:44):
to provide the coffee, all thegreat Caliber coffee for them to give away
there for free at the event, and then all donations get given to the
Boy Scouts and helps them with theirsummer camps. So this is how they
do their major fundraiser every year. For summer camps is through this Vets Ride
on Sunday and sampling good alburfree coffee. What we're also going to do just
for the Vets Ride. Everyone whobuys a holiday blend bag for you now

(03:05):
on Sunday, even five bucks tothe Vet's Ride. Basically all of our
profit will go to the Vet's Ride. So now through Sunday, So jump
on Caliber Coffee Company dot com orjump on Vetsride dot org, one or
the other somehow some way make adonation help out the Belt's Ride. Well,
Kirk, you got to talk aboutthis holiday coffee. I mean,
this is unbelievable. It's amazing coffee. Yes, it's got the brown sugar,
the almon and milk chocolate. Ittastes like the holidays. Yeah,

(03:30):
and now you can do something goodright, you can taste it, you
can have it socking stuffers. AndI can also give five bucks every bag
back to the Vets. And we'rejust happy to work with the Boy Scouts
Troop three twenty four. Jim Morburn, I want to give you one more
opportunity to make an appeal for thosepersons who can find an extra ten or
twenty dollars to make a donation onlinebecause that's where the lion's share of the
money is going to come for thisyear. To make sure the vet's good

(03:51):
of Christmas. Please consuder ten dollarstwenty dollars go on the website that's right
dot org. Drop off flight throughoutthe Midlands in Lexington, any Sonic,
they're in Pittsburg, Leevesville, They'rein Akin. If you have a gift,
you can bring it by Carolina Honda. We have boxes already here getting
prepared to take over to the VA. Do it in honor of a veteran

(04:13):
in your family. The men andfemale veterans that dorm VA need our help
again this Christmas, and because ofthe economy, like you mentioned, we
