(00:20):
All right, welcome back in ladiesand gentlemen. What a weekend it has
been. So much has happened, mainly Dianne Feinstein has died, which I'm
gonna be honest. This might comeas insensitive, but I thought she was
aholl reready dead because she's what like, she was ninety years old. She
had a one heck of a run. But the news there isn't that she

(00:43):
died. The news there is thatshe was voting in the Senate literally the
day before. The story of DianneFeinstein's last couple of months in the Senate
is a phenomenally wild one. Shewas gone for like three months because of
shingles, and after that she wasjust never the same again. You remember,

(01:06):
there was like big news right afterthat because she got rolled in in
a wheelchair. Previously she was likeup and moving. After she comes back
from shingles, she can't even walkby herself. They have to roll her
around in a wheelchair. And thenafter her shingles diagnosis, she is her
daughter has power of attorney, whichmeans her daughter was able to convince a

(01:30):
judge that she cannot make decisions forherself. That's perfectly normal. That happens
to old people all the time.My great grandparents, my grandfather had power
of attorney over them when they werekind of on their way out, but
they weren't in the Senate. Andthat's the that's the news story. So

(01:51):
she doesn't have the mental capacity, according to the state of California that granted
her daughter power of attorney over herto make decisions for herself, to make
her own findinancial decisions, to makeher own just general decision for herself.
She can't think for herself, Soher daughter has power of attorney. She
can make all the decisions for herShe can speak as her mother in pretty
much every situation where it matters. She can make medical choices, legal choices,

(02:14):
all that good stuff. That's whatpower of attorney means. And yet
Diane Feinstein is still voting in theSenate. Literally the day before she died,
the day before she died, shewas casting votes in the Senate.
How are we supposed to believe thatthis ninety year old woman can make decisions
for the entire country as a whole, but can't make decisions for herself her

(02:36):
own, like very basic decisions hadto be delegated to her daughter. But
yet she was making decisions that willaffect everyone in this country for years and
years to come. That should atleast raise some eyebrows. Don't you think
that's a little bit suspicious because whowas really making the decisions on those votes?
Because she pretty clearly wasn't with it. I mean, as much as

(02:57):
I hate to dog on somebody that'spassed away, she was not doing too
hot those last couple of months.I mean, just looking at pictures,
she was worse than Joe. Andthat's a high bar to clear, that
really is. So it makes youwonder not to put on a tinfoil hat
or anything, but who was theone that was actually deciding how Diane Feinstein

(03:20):
was going to vote? Because youknow it wasn't her. I mean,
how could she. She was ninetyyears old. So she passes away,
and then Gavin Newsom announces her replacement, and this is just wild to me.
We knew that Gavin Newsom was goingto pick a black woman to be
his or be Diane Feinstein's replacement, because he already committed to that earlier.

(03:40):
He said months ago that if DianneFeinstein resigned, if you recalled right after
the shingles situation. There was alot of talk about whether or not she
was going to resign. I knewthat she wasn't going to. These people
never resign, It's not in theirnature. They cling on to power until
literally their dying breath. They doeven if they have to be wheeled in
and somebody has to like lift theirhand up for them to vote. They

(04:03):
will not resign. They just don'tever do it. But she does in
office. So Gavin Newsom gets toa point of a replacement, and he
had already promised months and months agothat he was gonna appoint a black woman
to replace her, Which is Ilove that that's how we decide who gets
the next big public office is justdiversity hires, which I seem to recall

(04:26):
a very famous man back in theday saying that we shouldn't be judging people
based on the color of their skin. But that's all we do now.
If you're if you meet these basicqualifications, if you're black, if you're
a woman, if you you don'thave to be qualified for the job at
all. But you're black and you'rea woman, so you get the job.
You're black, you're a woman,and you're a lesbian, So you
get the job. And that's whathappens with Gavin Newsom's Senate appointment for Diane

(04:51):
Feinstein's replacement. And you might say, Ethan, that's unfair. You don't
know that she's unqualified. Well, you're right, So let's look at our
record. For I can count onzero fingers the number of elected offices she
has held, which normally you don'tjust swing right into the Senate. Right,
that's a pretty high office. There'susually like gradations first, like you're

(05:14):
at least on a city council somewhereor the mayor of a small town.
How often do people just happen upona Senate seat? So that begs the
question, how did this lady geton the map? Right, She's never
held political office, she's never hadher moment in some campaign speech or whatever
to really make a name for herselfand get in the news. So how
does anybody know who she is?How does she end up getting a point?

(05:35):
Well, she's a Democratic donor, she's a Democratic activist. She has
been getting people elected all up anddown California for her big thing is making
sure that pro choice women get electedto public office in California. So that's
how she got her name on themap. So, I mean, it

(05:56):
seems to me that the best wayto get into public office now is just
give bunch of money to the rightDemocrats and then be a gay black woman
and if you wait around long enough, eventually a senator will die and you'll
get a Senate seat. Now,on top of all of that, here's
what really cracks me up about allthis. This, and this just blatantly
demonstrates how absolutely fake this whole nonsenseis. Guess what state La Ponza Butler,

(06:26):
the Senator from California, lives in. And if you guess California,
I'm sorry to break it to you, that's wrong. She's from California originally
allegedly, but she does not livein California. She lives in Maryland.
The senator from California lives in Maryland. She owns a house in California,

(06:50):
but she is not registered to votein California. She's going to have to
reregister to vote in California because she'scurrently registered to vote in Maryland. So
you ask yourself, how is thisperson supposed to represent the interests of the
people of California. Well, guesswhat she's not. She's not supposed to
represent the interests of the people ofCalifornia. She's supposed to represent the interests

(07:10):
of the Democratic Party. That's herentire job. And you know how you
know that's her entire job, becausethat's all she's been doing for her entire
career. She has no qualifications forpublic office, but she's done a great
job over the last several years pushingfor Democratic Party initiatives and goals and priorities.
And so because she meets the rightqualifications for Gavin Newsom, which is

(07:33):
gay, black woman, she getsto be the Senator from California. She
doesn't live in California. She doesnot represent the people of California. She
represents the Democrat Party. That's allshe is. Because that's all Diane Feinstein
was is a reliable Democrat Party votein the Senate. That's all Diane Feinstein
has been since she went brain deadat least a few months ago, if

(07:55):
not longer before that. So,of course, the question that the people
of California should be at is whyisn't the person representing us in public office,
you know, one of us,somebody that lives where we live,
that cares about the issues that wehave to care about because of geographical whatever.
But they're not going to ask thosequestions because they're too busy celebrating the

(08:16):
fact that Gavin Newsom just broke allthe glass roofs that nobody cares at all
about. She's the first gay blackwoman Ladi da da da da, do
this, this, and this,so nobody cares about the fact that she's
supposed to be representing people that shedoesn't even live in the same state as.
But congratulations, Democrats, you've doneit again. You've broken down barriers.

(08:37):
You've appointed a gay black woman intothe United States Senate to not represent
the people, which is what youthink she should be doing. Nope,
she's just representing the Democratic Party,so don't be surprised when she votes exactly
along party lines. This woman will, without a doubt, be someone who
completely sacrifices all the interests of thepeople of California for the Democrat Party,

(09:00):
as the entire Democratic Party in Californiaand the entire country has been doing for
years now. They don't care aboutthe fact that what they're doing in the
state of California and in the countryas a whole is ruining the lives of
the people they're supposed to be serving. They're getting their point across, They're
making their big power moves, andthat's all that matters to these people,
all right. The other big newsover the weekend Saturday, the government shutdown

(09:22):
was avoided. Dang it, I'mnot gonna lie. I was rooting for
the government shutdown. I was rootingfor the government shutdown. Why was I
rooting for the government shutdown because thegovernment has done nothing but suck up tax
dollars and send them to Ukraine forthe last year and a half and I'm
sick of it. The party thatwas, as we talked about on Friday,

(09:43):
kind of pushing us towards government shutdownwas the group of people that was
very much on any no more moneyfor Ukraine and we have to secure the
border or we're not passing anything.I like the sound of that a lot.
If the government is not going todo its job, then we don't
need it, which one hundred percent, go for it. But as I
predicted, there was a last minutesomething or other a deal was struck and

(10:05):
the House passed like a forty fiveday continuing resolution to keep the government open.
So What that basically does is justkick the can forty five days down
the road. They did not passlike a full year's worth of government funding,
which is normally what you do.You pass government funding one fiscal year
at a time. They didn't dothat. They passed forty five days just

(10:28):
to keep the government open, togive them more time to argue with each
other. It was a political move, and we're gonna be back in the
same spot and forty five days dotdot dot org. This is just a
smoke screen. This is just thekind of centrist Republicans doing their best to
kind of distract the base so thatover the course of this forty five days

(10:48):
they can then give the Democrats everythingthat they want without anybody noticing. Because
now that news cycle is over, people aren't talking about that anymore. The
government shut down was avoided. We'redone, right. It wouldn't surprise me
if we never hear about this again, or at least for another year,
because they're just going to go aroundand the big Whig politicians are going to

(11:09):
make their backroom deals and then youwon't hear anything about it. It all
just depends on how much cover thelegacy media needs to run for whatever Democrat
situation is going on. If JoeBiden trips and falls on the tarmac again
in the next forty five days, you'll probably end up hearing more about the
ongoing budget battle because it is stillongoing. It's just we've put it on

(11:31):
pause for the next forty five days, but it is still ongoing. But
if they need to run cover forthe fact that Joe Biden is still not
alive, then absolutely you'll hear moreabout it. Because it's more convenient for
the media to dog on Republicans andsay, look at them, they're trying
to shut down the government than itis for them to say, hey,
look, guys, Joe Biden can'tfunction properly. And of course, speaking

(11:54):
of Joe Biden, would you believeit if I told you that Joe Biden
the most radical left wing president inAmerican history, Even he is not far
left enough for the Democrats or forthe Democrat base. At least, he
was giving a speech in Arizona, and middle of this speech, bless his

(12:15):
heart, he starts getting heckled.Normally, when Joe Biden gets heckled,
it's by Republicans, right, andthat's fair game. Heckle the guy.
But no, this is democrats hecklinghim over climate change because all the crap
that he has done in order tofix climate change or what have you,

(12:37):
that's still not enough for them.Despite the fact that he has murdered our
energy industry. He has almost completelyshut down gas here, I'm look at
the gas prices before Biden, lookat the gas prices after Biden. That
is all in the name of fixingclimate change. But even that is not
enough for these people. So here'swhat it sounded like when he was getting

(12:58):
heckled in the middle of his speechin Arizona. Buy some climate protesters.
But it's not easy. It's noteasy. Why don't you wait after hang

(13:24):
all? I said, hang ona second, I'll be happy to meet
me after I speak. Okay,Well, I tell you what, if
you shush up, I'll meet withyou at meeting after this. Okay.

(13:50):
I do get a kick of himjust being like, hey, why don't
you shut up that? That thatdid crack me up. But I love
how climate protesters are are quickly becomingthe vegans of the political world. They
just they aggravate everybody. They aggravateeverybody, and of course the Democratic Party
pans to these ridiculous people because theywant the votes and they will do anything

(14:13):
for a vote. But you've gotto be amused at how everybody in that
because they're all Democrats. That's JoeBiden giving a speech and everybody's cheering,
which means they're all Democrats in thatroom. But the moment this uh climate
activist is like, hey, whyhaven't you declared a climate emergency, Everybody's
like, dude, just shut up, please, please just shut up,
which is exactly what happens when youwalk into the grocery store and there's somebody

(14:39):
sitting there with a little poster witha picture of a cow that says this
animal wanted to live. You're like, dude, please shut up. But
what's really crazy is after everything thathe's already done, all of the ridiculous
things that he has done in thename of stopping climate rage, it's still
not enough for these people. Thisguy still wants a climate state of emergency.

(15:00):
Why haven't hundreds of Arizonans have diedbecause of climate change? Okay,
what's your source on that? Youwant me to just take your word for
it. People die of natural disastersall the time. It's a tragedy.
It's not climate change. And theprotester says, is like, you've promised
a ban on new drilling, butwhy haven't you declared this climate state of
emergency, which just goes to showyou it's never enough for these people because

(15:26):
there's not. Actually the reason thegoalposts keep moving is because all of this
is made up. The reason thatthey're saying, we need to do this,
this and this, and then theydo those things and then they move
the gold post. It's never climatechange is done. It's never we've solved
the problem. It's always we haveto do this now, we have to

(15:46):
do this now. Because if theyactually wanted to solve this issue, what
they would be doing is saying, why don't we just make sure our infrastructure
is built to adapt to this? Why don't we just make sure we're handling
things like ocean levels rising, becausethat's stuff that we can actually do something
about. And if you don't believeme, look at the entire state of
Louisiana, which almost all of itis below sea level, but they've built

(16:07):
infrastructure to accommodate for that. That'ssomething we could actually do. There are
real solutions to this problem. Butthat's not what they want. They would
rather have the problem to complain aboutthan solve the problem. All righty,
now for the real breaking news. For the first time ever in United States
history, a Speaker of the Househas been ousted. Representative Matt Gates.

(16:30):
As of course, he's been goinghead to head with Speaker McCarthy since January.
He was one of the main guysleading the opposition against Speaker McCarthy.
He was the reason it took likefifteen rounds of voting to get Kevin McCarthy
into the speakership position. Then todayhe filed the motion to oust Speaker McCarthy

(16:52):
from that position because Speaker McCarthy wasnot being as conservative as Matt Gates wanted
him to. And then there wasa motion to table that and that failed,
and then they voted on it,and a bunch of the Republicans and
all of the Democrats voted to ouseSpeaker McCarthy. Here's Matt Gates speaking about

(17:12):
that. Right after it happened. He immediately went to the press and had
a conversation with them. Here's whatthat sounded like. I think Kevin McCarthy
should take a hint. After fifteenballots to become speaker after eight months of
a failed speakership and after removal inthis historic manner, I think we should
move on and find somebody else. And then, of course that's exactly what

(17:34):
Speaker McCarthy did. He then laterannounced that he was not going to try
to become speaker again, which Ithink is good. Regardless of where you
stand on whether or not he shouldhave been ousted, him fighting to get
back into that position would not havebeen productive, no matter what way you
swing it, no matter what sideof the aisle you on, it would
have been a waste of time foreverybody because the same situation would have ended

(17:57):
up happening later down the road.At this point, it's best for McCarthy
to just sit down on the sideline, go pick somebody and endorse him and
have all your supporters go behind him. But you're not gonna get anywhere at
this point if you're speaking McCarthy. So I think it was a smart move
for him to just say, youknow what I'm done. I give up

(18:18):
now. There are a lot ofpeople that are trying to paint this in
a lot of different ways, bothon the Democrat side the Republican side.
There's half a billion different schools ofthought on this. There's a lot of
people that are claiming that this iskind of Matt Gates working as like a
double agent for the Democrats, justtrying to undermine Republican priorities, and this

(18:38):
is not a Democrat versus Republican thingthat just happened. A lot of people
trying to paint it as that. That's not what happened. This was a
battle between two different factions of theRepublican Party, and I guess more just
kind of the general conservative right thanthe Republican Party as a whole. This

(18:59):
was a fight between the kind ofold guard people who want to do the
polite, formal politics and follow allthe because that's a lot of what the
Republican Party is. There's a lotof that take the high road attitude in
the Republican Party and that kind ofclashed with what I like to refer to

(19:21):
as kind of the realist side ofthe Republican Party. There's so many people
in Conservatism that want to be like, listen, we have to follow all
the procedures. We have to bethe formal, polite, nice people.
We have to get things done bythe book. We can't play dirty,
we can't be mean, we haveto be polite. It's those same type

(19:41):
of people that don't like Trump verymuch because Trump isn't that formal kind of
grandeur, pomp, circumstance politician typeof person, and so they don't like
him regardless of whether or not theylike his policies or not. They don't
like the fact that Donald Trump isnot to take the high road type of
person. It's that high rodism versuskind of the realists in the conservative side

(20:04):
of the aisle that clashed last night, and the Democrats just kind of happened
to align with the realists because theydon't like McCarthy. So to all of
you that are sitting there thinking thiswas some coup, some alliance between Matt
Gates and the Democrats, that's ridiculous. That's not what happened. This is

(20:26):
a simple case of common enemy. That's all that it is. Matt Gates
right now is representing a group ofthe Conservative Party that wants to just say,
Okay, you know what, screwit is, time to just kick
the door in and get stuff done. Whereas Kevin McCarthy wants to go in.
He wants to make deals. Hewants to be the guy that's doing
traditional room where it happens politics, cutting deals, and he thinks that if

(20:49):
he does things how they're supposed tobe done, he can lead by example
and the Democrats will realize that we'resupposed to be polite about politics. What
Kevin McCarthy never seemed to realize isthe fact that we are no longer in
a situation where the two political partiesboth want the same thing but have different
routes to get there. That's notwhat politics is anymore. The Democrat Party

(21:14):
in this country does not want tosee America prosper And if you don't believe
me, look at the border. If you don't believe me, look at
crime. These are things that theyare doing intentionally. And there's the useful
idiots that don't know any better, and then there's the people pulling the strings
that are actively trying to undermine thewelfare of our society. Kevin McCarthy doesn't
realize that, and he thinks thatthere's still time to make deals and play

(21:37):
nice and fix everything the nice, long, slow way, and Matt Gaetz
is just like, listen, that'snot the case anymore. We don't have
the luxury of playing nice. Wedon't have the luxuries of these political principles
that we used to have because we'renot just trying to take different paths to
the same goal. We're trying totake different paths to completely different goals,

(22:00):
and one is completely detrimental to theother. We can't play nice with the
Democrats anymore. We can't do nicepolitics. It's long been said that politics
is war by other means, andit's time to act like that. When
you're at war, you don't justplay nice with the other side. You
go in he can get stuff done. That's how politics needs to be done.

(22:21):
You need to just go in andyou need to kick the door in
and make stuff happen. That's whatRon DeSantis has been doing in Florida,
and it's working in Florida. ButKevin McCarthy and the pompous Republicans in the
House of Representatives don't want to dothat. They want to do politics nice.
They want to just be polite andget along with everybody. We can't

(22:41):
just get along with everybody anymore. We have run out of time. Making
spending deals with the Democrats doesn't workanymore because we're thirty seven or thirty three.
It's either thirty three or thirty seven. I don't know. We're way
farther in debt than we should haveever been, and us cutting deals about

(23:02):
how much we increase that debt orwere going to increase it by two trillion
or six trillion this year. Let'snegotiate. No, we need to cut
it period. That's why this wholeshut the government thing down was such a
big deal over the last couple ofweeks because there were those in the Republican
House that realize this isn't working. We have to just put a line down.
We can't be negotiating anymore. Wehave to say this is where we're

(23:26):
at, this is what we're doing, and if you don't like it,
that's tough and the only way you'regonna There's people that will say, we
don't have the majority for that.We can't do that, right. You
don't have the majority for that, and you're not going to unless you demonstrate
the fact that if you have theability to, you will. You have
to try first before you succeed. But these Republicans, led by Kevin McCarthy,

(23:51):
these mainstream people don't want to dothat they want to play nice until
they have the votes to do something. That's not what the Democrats have been
doing. That's not what Nancy Pelosidid in her tenure. Nancy Pelosi made
sacrifices to get what she wanted.Nancy Pelosi gave up her House majority to
get Obamacare. But the Republicans aren'twilling to do that because they want to

(24:12):
play nice politics, and that doesn'twork. Politics is dirty. Politics has
to be dirty if you want towin. And if we want to keep
this country afloat for another two hundredand fifty years, we're gonna have to
start playing a lot dirty or politicsa lot quicker, because once again,
this debt ain't going anywhere. Andif we just keep negotiating how much we're

(24:33):
going to increase it, this problemis going to get a whole lot worse.
And Matt Gates was sick of takingthat approach, and so Matt Gates
ousted the Speaker, and more powerto him, more power to him.
I am all for this. Weneed more chaos in the House of Representatives,
not less. We need more chaosand government as a whole, because,
as much as I hate to sayit, things have to get worse

(24:56):
before they get better. We areat that point, and I don't like
being the bear of bad news.I don't like saying that, but that's
the point where we're at with thisdebt, with this crime, with this
everything. Things have got to getworse politically speaking before we can start improving.
And maybe that means the House Republicansdo some wild stuff that costs us

(25:18):
a majority for a couple of years, but we have to be willing to
make that sacrifice for the long termgoal, just like Nancy Pelosi did.
And that's not the kind of personthat Kevin McCarthy was, and so he's
not the kind of speaker that weneed. So I one hundred percent think
Matt Gates was right to oust him, and I'm I'm glad he did it,
and I'm super interested to see howthings play out because this was an

(25:41):
unprecedented move. This has never beendone before. The Speaker of the House
has never been ousted in the historyof the United States of America. So
this this is going to be aninteresting next couple of weeks. And honestly,
I'm excited to see what the RepublicanHouse to because I'm hoping this is
a wake up. I'm hoping thiskind of snaps through Republican Caucus into place

(26:03):
and they realize, Okay, weneed to start actually fighting for our Republican
goals. Otherwise we're not gonna getanything. Alrighty that is gonna do it.
For the show today, I'm superexcited about the Friday episode just because
I know that there's gonna be awhole lot developing. We've got everybody now
starting to kind of cast their hatsinto the ring to become the next speaker
of the House. I know JimJordan is running, and I'm sure that

(26:26):
there'll be others. This is gonnabe a huge, very interesting news cycle,
and I'm excited to see what happensin the House. I'm excited to
see kind of how this situation develops, just because it is so unprecedented.
So be sure to tune in forthe Friday show. We're gonna be keeping
you up to date with everything goingon with that. As always, feel
free to reach out to me withyour thoughts on the show or any topics
