Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's bring in Aaron Jacobson Coast of the Pat and
Aaron Show on ninety five three WDAE to talk about
the Bucks loss.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
To the Bills.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Look, I thought this was going to be a tough
game for them for a number of different reasons. The
Bills are a good team, even though they had that
really bad loss of the Dolphins the week before. This
is in Buffalo and it's coming off of that bad
loss to the Dolphins, so.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
You knew they were going to be energizing, ready to go.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Now, Josh Allen made a couple of big mistakes early
in the game, really gave the Bucks a chance to
win it. But then you saw why he is the
reigning MVP of the league.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, he was incredible down the stretch, getting himself in
the end zone, throwing his body in the end zone
and throwing touchdown passes, not turning the ball over. Yep,
and that's when he became great. And you know, right,
I wasn't surprised by the result. I had the Bills.
I picked him on Friday to win this game. I
uncover the spread, which they did. And it's not because
I don't believe in this Bucks team. I just everything

(00:55):
that we saw lighting up and then early on in
that game, I'm like, all right, this is this Bucks
team came out to play. They're fighters, But just because
I expected them to potentially lose that game, and even
though they did lose that game, it does it doesn't
hurt any less, Like you still want them to go
out there and perform and win. And now they're finding
themselves only half a game ahead of the Carolina Panthers

(01:16):
and the division and the Carolina Panthers came up quickly.
You and I have talked about this watch out for
those Panthers, and it's really not that they're, you know,
this world beater of a team. They're not the best team.
They're schedules light. They've beaten the teams are supposed to beat.
They've beaten some good teams. Surprisingly inconsistent, losing to New Orleans,
which is Weird're weird.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
They have just had a weird season.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
They get blown out by the Bills and the Patriots,
they beat the Packers, they lose to the Saints and
the Cardinals.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
They're just all over the place.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Inconsistent.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah, they have a bit of a tougher schedule than
the Bucks. In the home stretch, which I think could help.
What is it about the Bucks that you notice? I mean,
you had Sean Tucker, he had a fantastic game, awesome,
but they still seem inconsistent, especially on on offense. You know,
the defense that was gonna be tough against Josh Allen

(02:07):
once he really got going. But but the Bucks offense
is weird. Sometimes it's a really good drive and then sometimes, uh,
it's just not it just stalls out.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
No Mike Evans, no Chris Godwin, no Jalen McMillan. Those
are your top three receivers. Bucky Irving, Buck No Bucky Irving,
which you mentioned. Sean Tucker was great yesterday, so I'm
not gonna look at that too much. But but you've
got a rookie in a Mecca Buka who's getting the
loaded receiver, a rookie seventh round draft pick. And Ted Johnson,
who somewhere like will even make this team. He's been spectacular,

(02:38):
but he's still a rookie. He's Sterling Schapherd who's on
the back end of his career.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yeah, veteran, an aging veteran.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
That's that's dependable, But he's not a guy you want
to rely upon down after down, so they're just running
into a weapons problem.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
But even with that being said, how much did they scored?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yah, they're scoring the defense.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
You cannot give up forty points in a game and
win in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
No, No, what is it about the defense? They had
that injury with Jammel Dean hip issue. What did you
see from the defense?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Jamel Dean Just like you mentioned, their cornerback has been
great all season long. And now that at corner he
goes down, who fills in? Who steps up for the
primary snaps? It's Benjamin Morrison and he's a rookie at
a Notre Dame and he sorry, and he's I'm.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
A Notre Dame fan. He was pretty good for Notre Dame.
But yeah, he's a rookie in the NFL. Yes, you're
gonna have your mistakes.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Last two week. Last week he got torched and he
was exposed. And when he was in there yesterday after
Jamel Dean got hurt, they torched him, exposed him.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
So bad mistakes on defense.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Lavonte David a future Hall of Famer, he's slowing down
in aging and then special teams. Sometimes it comes down
to special teams and their special teams has been horrific.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yesterday was bad again.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
All right, let's talk about what to watch more moving forward.
John by Aaron Jacobson Coast at Patton Aaron Show on
ninety five three WDA. So the Bucks play the Rams next,
and that's going to be a really difficult game. The
Rams look pretty good against the Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I think today, I think they might be the best team.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
They might be.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, So I mean, I'm not going to pick the
Bucks in that game. Meanwhile, you've got the Panthers. They
play the forty nine Ers. That game could go either way.
I mean, I would think the forty nine Ers would
probably win with Brock pretty back, but I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
The Panthers are a weird team.

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Who knows, Yeah, exactly how I feel.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
But then after that, the Bucks have the Cardinals, the Saints,
the Falcons, the Panthers twice, and the Dolphins, whereas the
Panthers have the Rams, Saints, Bucks twice, and the Seahawks.
So a tougher schedule, and I feel like it's it
could come down to those two games against the Panthers
that decide this division.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
You're going to have to have a pretty wide margin
of a lead going into that those last three games.
If you want to if those games mean nothing for
the Buccaneers, I'm with you. I think those games are
going to be very consequential. And unfortunately the Bucks have
put themselves in the situation by not getting a big
winner two here or there.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, they had, they had good wins against the Seahawks
and the forty nine Ers. That was a really beat
up forty nine ers team that they played, but still
they got those good wins. But the stretch against the
top teams in the league, the Lions, Eagles, Patriots, and
now the Bills and we'll see about the Rams next week,
it just shows there, I would say, one tier below,

(05:14):
you know, at least the elite teams in the NFC
and then in the league overall. Let's talk about us
at do we have to losing forty one thirty eight
to Navy and it basically ends their chances of getting
into the College Football Playoff and winning the conference. And
I've felt like this year their goal needed to be

(05:34):
to win the conference, and yet again we get these
losses like against the loss to Miami, understandable, Memphis, Navy
close games.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
What's going on? With this team that they just can't
pull these wins out.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I don't know. I mean I wish I knew.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
I'm sure Alex Skolish, the head coach, is asking the
same thing, like they prep all week. They've got a
tremendous quarterback of talent and Byron Who a lot of
USF fans feel like they're ruining his you know, opportunity
which they have now to really move forward here and
go to the college football playoff and that's another game
like the USF Bowls, are putting up points on offense

(06:13):
the defense, which you look earlier in the season and
against Florida, that defense was unbelievable and we were like, yeah,
this offense is good, but look out for that USF defense.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Where have they been?

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Navy is not, you know, this incredible team and they
should not have been beat up by Navy like they
were because it was you know, it was a close game,
but it was it seemed like every time Navy got
the ball they were going to go down the field
and score.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
The one thing I do think this does is I
think it keeps Alex Goulash as coach of USF. He
is not I don't think he's going to be in
the running for any of those really big positions after
this season.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Probably not.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
And if you look at your Twitter, you know how
they are prisoner of the moment. They're like, we don't
even want him here anymore.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
I want to see a couple more seasons out of them.
But I think this is a concerning thing that we've
seen from this team. It goes beyond his tenure as
head coach. Just not being able to put together a
complete season, right.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
And these aren't like big games against these massive opponents.
It's just like games you need to win.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yeah, exactly, all right.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Aaron Jacobson coast of the Patt and Aaron Show on
ninety five three WDAE with us this morning.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Aaron, thanks so much.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Thanks very

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
