Speaker 1 (00:00):
I've been talking all morning about what these Epstein emails
reveal about Trump, but we're also learning about what might
have led to the end of his friendship with Bill Clinton.
In an email exchange with Catherine Roemlar, former advisor to
President Obama, back in twenty sixteen, Epstein said he broke
off contact with Bill Clinton after he caught him lying.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
He said, quote, my mind is a friend killer.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
He swore with wholehearted conviction to me that he had
done something he had forgotten that he also swore the
exact opposite to me only weeks before.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Huh, Bill Clinton lied, shocking, no way.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
A spokesperson for the Clinton said, who knows what they're
talking about. What we do know and have always said,
is that President Clinton knew nothing about Epstein's heinous crimes
and hadn't spoken to him in twenty years.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
And now here it is in black and white.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Yeah, me and Brak.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I think what was really interesting about the Clinton documents
is the fact that they were part of the release
that Republicans put out, and there are emails from twenty
eleven showing that Epstein told the contact who was the Duke,
which we now know is Prince Andrew that Bill Clinton
was never on the island. Yeah, because that's always been
you know, the theory.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Complete and utter fantasy.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
So I thought that was an interesting development as well.
But I still have no doubt that Bill Clinton knew
what Epstein was up to give me a break. He
spent too much time around him. He had to have known.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Yesterday, House Democrats dropped a ton of Epstein emails, some
of them that mention Trump, and then shortly after House
Republicans released another twenty thousand pages and one of the
emails to Glene Maxwell, written in April of twenty eleven,
Epstein said, I want you to realize that that dog
that hasn't barked is Trump.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Victim's name was redacted.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
It says victim spent hours at my house with him,
and Maxwell responded saying I have been thinking about that now.
White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt responded to that and
said the victim is Virginia Giuffrey, who has said that
she met Trump she worked at mar A Lago, and
that he never did anything. And she said these emails
prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump

(02:10):
did nothing wrong. They also accused Democrats of selectively dropping emails,
now more emails. In twenty fifteen, Epstein offered a reporter
pictures of Trump in his kitchen with girls and bikinis
and said Trump was so distracted by looking at the
girls that he walked into a glass door.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Understand and heard his nose.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
There was also an email written in twenty eighteen in
which Epstein said I know how dirty Donald is, and
in a twenty nineteen email to Michael Wolfe, Epstein wrote
redacted victim's name, mar A Lago. Trump said he asked
me to resign, but I was never a member. Of course,
he knew about the girls and asked Elaine to stop.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
So I have a lot of a lot of takes
on all of this and want to dive into it
coming out at around six four seven. I do want
to note all of this information that was released yesterday,
it came from a subpoena of the Epstein estate, not
the Department of Justice.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
That's something completely except.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yes So this was something I wasn't really even expecting
to get these yesterday, and then bam, there they were.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Well, there's a reason they dropped yesterday.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yesterday, over twenty thousand pages of emails obtained through a
subpoena of Epstein's estate were released by the House Oversight Committee,
and in one email exchange with then New York Times
reporter Thomas Landon, Epstein revealed he has photos of Trump
with bikini clad young women in his kitchen, and he
named two of them. He asked the reporter, would you

(03:41):
like photos of Donald and girls in bikinis in my kitchen,
and the reporter replied yes. Epstein then said Hawaiian tropic
girl Lauren Petrella. And then in another email, he linked
to an article about Norwegian businesswoman Selena Middleford. So he
described her as my twenty year old girlfriend in ninety

(04:01):
three that after two years I gave to Donald, basically
saying that he gave his girlfriend to Donald Trump. And
this woman is reportedly the woman that Trump was on
a date with when he met Milania. The other woman
was an accuser in a sense withdrawn sexual harassment lawsuit

(04:21):
that was filed against Trump. So whether or not he
ever actually sent any photographs, that's not clear. There's no
attachments or anything. We didn't see any pictures. But Epstein,
you know, says that he gave Donald Trump as girlfriend.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
And then There were some other allegations in these emails.
Larry Summers, who was former treasurer secretary, worked in Clinton
Obama administrations. There were emails with him and Epstein. He
was asking for help about women he was interested in.
He was asking about like tone, timing, how to handle
another guy who was.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
In the picture with one of the women that.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
He was into seemed relationships.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Yeah, yeah, Jonathan Arcas.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
He's the husband of Somers Farcas, who is Trump's newly
sworn in ambassador to Malta. He was asking whether a
woman he was secretly seeing was a two timer and
a hooker, and he wrote to Epstein, I don't think
this is going to turn into romance. I'm a bit
old and not tall enough, but she seems intelligent and kind.
And Epstein's said careful, she's not trustworthy at all. So

(05:23):
you just had these interactions with Epstein.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
And now maybe this is why, because if you think
of those names in there, think of how many more
are in all of these other Epstein files.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
And that's why they don't want them out there.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Because all these people were talked about, it doesn't necessarily
mean that they committed a crime that's damaging they're.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Connected to them.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah, and those Larry Summers messages came after Epstein's crimes
involving minors were known were known publicly The.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
