of him with various media luminary typeswith whom he worked over the years,

and he he was a behind thescenes guy, but he was damn good
at what he did. And moreimportantly than that, he was a fantastic
human being. And everybody who wasever around him absolutely loved the guy,

along the way we became friends,and sometimes we would go over to his
house and hang out with him andhis wife. And Jordan was a little
girl at this time, and Iwill never forget how they were with her.
I mean, they treated her likeshe was their own. What's his

I think we first met during theHS days and whatever the Rangers and Mavericks,
whatever their TV scene was. Throughthe years, he became part of

He was a producer. A lotof the time, he'd be the
guy in the earpiece or in theheadset of the play by play guy.
It was very knowledgeable about it alland very very good at his job.

humor. Who could take something thatdidn't seem funny and just by the way
he put it, he would makeit funny. And he was one of
the most liked guys that I've everrun across in the business. Everybody who
worked with him liked working with himand looked forward to working with him,

getting to see him and having himentertain them in the way that he did.
He'd been having some hard trouble recently, and I was a little bit
stunned last week when I found thatlife support had come into play and they

worked with him will miss him,and and it's just a real bummer to

of words about a good friend ofmine and the biz who passed on to
the next plane last week. Andif you were watching The Mavericks last night,

you may have noticed when they wentto a commercial and things stopped down
and Mark Followell read a tribute fromthem to him, and it showed photos
of him with various media luminary typeswith whom he worked over the years,
of which I was one, andmy social started blowing up. Who is

that guy? Do you know him? Yeah? I do know him,
and he he was a behind thescenes guy, but he was damn good
at what he did. And moreimportantly than that, he was a fantastic
human being. And everybody who wasever around him absolutely loved the guy,
including me. Now I knew alittle bit better personally than professionally, because
(15:18):
along the way we became friends,and sometimes we would go over to his
house and hang out with him andhis wife. And Jordan was a little
girl at this time, and Iwill never forget how they were with her.
I mean, they treated her likeshe was their own. What's his
name? His name is Jim Feldman. Feldman. Yeah, he started.

I think we first met during theHS days and whatever the Rangers and Mavericks,
whatever their TV scene was. Throughthe years, he became part of
it, you know. The Iguess they they farm out the hiring of
all the people who work on thosegames, and whoever they farmed it out

to, they always got him andhad him do that thing that he did.
He was a producer. A lotof the time, he'd be the
guy in the earpiece or in theheadset of the play by play guy.
It was very knowledgeable about it alland very very good at his job.
He was wickedly funny. He hadan incredible, dry, amazing sense of
(16:29):
humor. Who could take something thatdidn't seem funny and just by the way
he put it, he would makeit funny. And he was one of
the most liked guys that I've everrun across in the business. Everybody who
worked with him liked working with himand looked forward to working with him,
and most of most of them Ihad more than one tell me that that
(16:51):
one of the things they look forwardto about coming to work every night was
getting to see him and having himentertain them in the way that he did.
He'd been having some hard trouble recently, and I was a little bit
stunned last week when I found thatlife support had come into play and they
(17:15):
had taken him off of it.I guess whatever happened could not be gotten
squared away. But I will misshim. I know all the people who
worked with him will miss him,and and it's just a real bummer to
lose a guy like the great JimJim Feltman for everybody who knew him or
worked with him. And that's whatI had to say, a happy guy.

Oh that sucks. So where didhe work? He was part of
the balley, Yeah, Fox Sports, you know all the things that it
became through the years. Yeah,going back into the HS days, you
probably did know him. Yeah.I mean you may not have known the
name, but you probably. I'msure he worked some stuff that you were

working on. He had to ofthem, Yeah, because he did everything
he did. If they did it, he did it, Baseball, basketball,
hockey, all of it, hedid it. Well, that's sad.
I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, And I don't know. I
know that it's not a name that'sreal well known out there, but I

haven't been able to stop thinking aboutthis ever since it happened. And then
when they did the thing last nighton TV, I thought, well,
Okay, if they're going to dothat, then I need to hold up
my into this. Well, thisis what's on Mike's mind, and that's
what's on Mike's mind. That's it. Yeah. I believe he was sixty
eight and just as I mean,my last memory of him as him being

the way he always was, whichwas active and ready to roll in whatever
way you wanted to funny, funall that stuff. It's just a real
bumber went something like this happens toa guy that you just never have imagined
something like that happening too. Doyou have that There's some people out there

that you just can't imagine. I'vebeen taking them down. Actually yeah,
I definitely had one of well hadmultiples, but just less than two years
ago. And I think it's somebodythat I would imagine. We all knew
that was in our industry when TedNichols Pain passed away. Oh yeah,
he was an incredible engineer. He'she was an awesome dude. He was

I don't know what was he fiftyfifty six? Yeah, active cyclist.
Every time we went to spring training, he and I would go hike Camelback
Mountain like he was in really goodshape, And that was one that a
couple of years ago, that onegot me pretty good. Yeah, it
was just like, no matter howyou do it, Like if you're a
if I were a very religious person, that would have been one of the
moments where you kind of look upand you're like, what the hell?

Yeah, what are you doing?Man? Yeah, somebody in their fifties,
in good shape and a freaking saintin the world and just plucked That
sucks. Yeah, it does.That sucks a lot. When was the
last time you had connected? Ithad been a while? You know how

this is this business is he getsgoing on his things, I get going
on mine, And if you don'tcross paths very alten as we did over
the last couple of years or so, you kind of lose touch. But
I don't know. I always felta connection with him, and I always
knew that if I did see him, it'd probably be one of those guys
that would pick up right where weleft off. Yeah, I'm sure you

guys have had those, yeah,plenty. Yeah, I figured that that
would be the way that it wouldhave been with him. But now,
to quote a great man, Iguess we'll never know. It's one of
those kind of weird things in lifewhen you leave a workplace, like you
get so used to seeing people everysingle day for however many years, five

ten years, and then all ofa sudden you get a new job and
it's just like you don't see becauseyour work people become your family in a
way, and unless you make thateffort to really connect and stay in contact,
and sometimes you never even really getto see him again. But there
are those people like him for youthat you just know if you do bump
(21:32):
into him, it's gonna be abig hug and it's going to be a
great catch up and how's your family, how are your kids? And you'll
be warned down the hall, andthen all of a sudden he'll start into
some story or something. Yeah,tell me about something that you know,
whoever's doing play by play that nightsaid at the last game off mic and
something like that. You know,it was just really easy to pick up
(21:53):
right where you left off those That'san amazing and really cool connection that you
have with some people in this world. But Jim Safe travels, my friend.
I will miss you. We willall miss you. Like they said
