Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's get into another round of snore wars today. This
is where your rem sleep meets the wwe Is everybody
ready this morning?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
I guess I just don't see how it gets worse
than where we're already at.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Our current champion is Andrew. His wife says he sounds
like Gullum from Lord of the Rings.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
He don't have any friends.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
And she's not necessarily wrong. Around Halloween that would send
somebody running out of the house, wouldn't they if you
had to wake up next to that?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, that's little much.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Mitchell is our newest challenger. His wife says he sounds
like a bear going through the worst possible thing. But
is it enough to dethrone Andrew? My only issue with
(01:07):
that not really rhythmic. It's kind of all over the place.
I feel like if you have a rhythmic snore, that
can at least lull you to sleep. But after first listen,
which one are you gonna have our hard time sleeping
next to Blair?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
I'm gonna go with Andrew.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Wow, the noise is coming out of Andrew or just
creepy eight.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
Five five grave zero. You guys have to vote on this.
This is Andrew, and this is Mitchell? Which one would
you have a hard time sleeping next to? Eight five
five Graves zero Blair. When you heard both people from
(01:48):
snore Wars today are current champion Andrew, what are the
thoughts that immediately go through your head.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
I'm just glad we're all in the same page that
this man needs some help.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
And then you got Mitchell who is our challenger. But
let's get over to you and see who should move
on in today's battle of snore Wars and go to
Sarah A five to five Grave zero.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
Definitely Andrew.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
He sounds like when two cats are about to fot.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
That is one hundred percent right. They have that weird
hiss like they're getting ready to go to battle.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
Yeah, oh my gosh, oh that is so good.
Speaker 7 (02:39):
Sarah, thank you, You're welcome.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
All right, let's get over to Michelle this morning. We're
playing snore Wars. Who should move Who should be the
winner today? Mitchell or Andrew? Who is our current champion?
Speaker 7 (02:56):
Andrew?
Speaker 5 (02:57):
No doubt that gives me that he'd be.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Giving you all the warm fuzzies and whatnot. It's the
good good on the Spencer Grave Show. As parents, how
many times have you told your kids put down the tablet,
put down the iPad, get out front of that TV
and go outside and play, Go run, go, ride your bike,
do something and get a little exercise. That happens all
the time. Well, one kid, who yes, watched the video
(03:26):
on YouTube and became inspired, decided that over the summer
he was going to run fifty miles in fifty days.
So if you do the math, that's one mile a day.
Well he decided not only was he going to run,
try to get in shape and do something outside, he's
also going to raise money. So he's got three thousand
dollars raised and he's giving it back to kids fighting
(03:46):
childhood cancer.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
This is great.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I mean you hear sometimes that, you know, these kids
they just go above.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
And be on and you're like, why can't my brain
work like that?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Why? You know?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I think it's great though.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I do love these little fundraisers that kids do when
they're little. Like I remember I did a fundraiser. It
was like selling books at school and I think you
just went.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
To one of those blair Oh yeah, book fair. Oh
we love it's a book fair.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
So I like anything that's a little different. Kudos to him.
Ryany did a great job a BA congratulations going out
to Scotty McCreery and his wife guld Bee. They just
had baby number two, both boys. They already had Merrick
and now they have Oliver in their family. And I
was waiting for some of the pictures and videos to
come out. Finally we got those, and you saw Marrek
(04:31):
holding his new baby brother with such pride. He was
so happy to be there. And it made me think
of my friend Ashley Blair because she just gave birth
a couple of weeks ago, and she didn't have the
moment that I think every parent wants of big brother
or big sibling meeting the baby.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
You know, I just wonder how many people see that
picture that they posted, which, by the way, congratulations, and
you know parents are probably thinking, okay, but what was
going on behind that picture? What bribes we're having to
take place? So what do they have to do to get.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
That keue paying You guys should call us and tell
us what it was like when you introduced the older
sibling to the baby for the very first time. A
five to five grave zero. I want to call Ashley
and get her on just so she can tell you
the story, because it's incredible. Hello, good morning Ashley, and
congratulations by.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
The way, thanks bud So.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
For those that don't know, Ashley is a friend of
mine and she just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
It's her second. She already has a son named Davis,
who's in the house. How old is Davis now?
Speaker 4 (05:35):
Just over to Yeah, he just turned too in June, right.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
So I went to his birthday party and that's where
we brought the question up of should you be able
to bring alcohol to a little kid's birthday party? You
remember that, Blair, Oh, yeah, for sure. So it was
Davis's birthday. So congratulations on your new baby boy. However,
we were just talking about Scotty McCreery and how he
also has two boys and his family. His wife gave
birth just a couple of days ago. The pictures that
(06:00):
they shared showed older brother Merrek absolutely in love with
his younger brother. That's not always the case, though, What
a dream that was?
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Like that was my dream, right.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
It's what you thought about for nine months?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Why this is why I got off Pinterest, you know,
when I was looking at like hospital pictures and things
like that, because you know, there's like Instagram versus reality.
We heard the reality side. So basically Davis walked in.
I said, hey, Bud, how are you holding the baby?
You know, all this stuff. He's got a teddy bear
(06:35):
and flowers for me. And he looks at me and
doesn't say a word and just turns back around and
goes to the door to leave the hospital room.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Okay, did you tell him, like, you know, if you
have nothing nice to say, do so anything. And so
he honestly was doing what mom told him to do.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Well, I think what it was is he was having
so much fun with the grandparents and the lading room
with all the snacks. He was more like, this is
more fun. So then Jacob picked him up and we
kind of like slowly talked to him and so, this
is baby brother, you know, really, come see mommy. We
were trying to say, like, hey, ignore the baby, at
least come see me. You little turns and like I
(07:20):
missed you, like you're my firstborn. You know, that is
a very emotional day when you introduce your firstborn to
your second. And so Jacob stood him up on the
bed and he kind of stood there and then looked
at Jacob and then Jacob tried to sit him down
and he said nope. He like kind of started to
stomp a little bit, like a heavy stomp, but it's
(07:41):
a little stump, just enough to take mine. We're done.
We're good now.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
He eventually sat down and you guys like kind of
put the baby towards him. What was his verbal reaction
when that happened.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
He was sitting in the chair and he was like baby,
I want, I will baby, And so then like my
mom and my husband, you know, get the pillow ready
for him. Like he I'm like, okay, this is happening.
Like who has a camera, Who has a camera, This
is happening.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
This is what we've been waiting for.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
He even like patch down the pillow like ready, and
we go to like get him the baby. He goes, no,
I don't want baby, no, and like and put him away,
all right.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
I love how Davis was scheming. So he is sitting
there in his mind as a little two year old brain,
and he's like, I'm going to bait them in to
thinking that I'm going to have this heartwarming moment with
my kid brother and then as soon as it happens, bam,
I'm gonna.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Hit him less.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Like it was. I mean it was a full on,
like Hosman, I'll give it to him. He Davis is
definitely our football over And it was a full on
like Hesman trophy moment. The way that he just like
put the hand out in the arm. It was so
stretched out and tight, you know, like that's what it was.
It was a straight off nope, like declines, Well, this.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Is gonna be great when he wins the Super Bowl
when he's old and they do an expose on them.
They're going to talk about and they're going to bring
you into it. How you knew he was a football
player because he Heisman trophied his little brother.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
You knew it from this story day.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
From that moment I called it his little brother will
based on the size nine ten ounces is twenty one
inches long whatever he was nine to eight something like that,
he's going to be a football.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Player in the family. Well, Ashley, ingrats again. I hope
you have a great day today. I know you're on
that three hour feeding window, so thank you for taking
some time.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Hey, I know, thank you' all so nice to talk
to you. Have a great day.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
See yup you too. Great news for Scotty McCreary and
his wife Gibbie. They welcome baby number two. They now
have two boys. Mark is their oldest and Marek really
took to the baby. This is like such a nervous
thing blair for moms and dads to go through. How
will the oldest react to the baby?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Oh yeah, I mean I have friends that right before
they have baby number two, They're panicking, They're stressing, and
I'm like, the good news is if they I love
each other at the beginning, there will come a day
that you got to be like, you know, referee.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
I promise everybody freaks out about that. You even had
concerns about that with Yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:09):
So I just had my second baby in July and
both both boys. Thank you. What are the way Parks
is our oldest and Pierce is our youngest?
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Great names? How did Parks react to Pierce being born?
Speaker 7 (10:25):
We were so nervous about this because Park is such
like a mama's boy. We brought him to the hospital.
He was obsessed, Like Parks has never even given us
kisses on the cheek like my husband or me, And
he starts kissing all over Pierce and hugging him, and
(10:46):
he is just in love with his baby brother.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Oh wow, Yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:52):
Yeah, it's really sweet and it's still that way to
this day. Sometimes we have to get on to him
about hugging Piers a little too hard, but yeah, he's
he's the best big brother. I wish I could go
back and tell myself, like this whole pregnancy, that I
(11:13):
wouldn't that Parks wouldn't have an issue and he would
be perfect, because I worried myself to death that he
was going to feel left out or you know, hate
the baby, but that was not the case at all.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
Well, that's an awesome story, and congratulations to you. Do
you guys feel like two is good or are you
going to go for baby number three?
Speaker 7 (11:30):
Two is good for right now?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Do you want a girl?
Speaker 7 (11:33):
I wonder? I don't know, you know, I always thought
I'm wanted a girl, but now like I can't imagine
not being a boyom.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Well, good luck with whatever you guys choose.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Have a great day.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
We had our now four year old back in twenty
twenty one, so family back then couldn't come because of COVID,
So when we had Lily in twenty three, the grandparents
actually got to come to the hospital and see the baby. Well,
they brought Amy with them and Nana picked up the
(12:06):
baby and Amy' said, aren't on?
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Nana put it back?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
Was it having it?
Speaker 5 (12:14):
And then when we got to come home from the hospital,
she would not have anything to do with her sister
at all for like two weeks.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Were you stressed as the mom, like, was this something
that you worried about leading up to it or even
worried about it when you first came home, Because I mean, obviously,
right after having a baby, you've got emotions like crazy.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
So were you stressing?
Speaker 5 (12:35):
No, Because I would get in the floor and play
babies with her and say, you know, mommy's got a
baby in her belly and your little sister's going to
be here soon. You know, you want to practice holding
baby sister and you know that kind of stuff. And
so I mean she was a pro edit, you know,
for you know, almost being two.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah, but you know what, I get this, and I've
seen this from friends of mine. They know they know
when they walk into the hospital that that's not a doll,
that's not something that you're just playing with on the floor,
and they're like, you think you're gonna come into my castle?
The police ride Reign supreme for two years. I don't
think so. You think we're gonna share toys, Ah, ain't handling.
(13:18):
Get your own toys.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Oh yeah. And to this day yet still like that,
like they share a room. But the older one says,
that's my ring.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
They take the they'll they'll take the tape at some
point and they'll put it right down the middle of
the room. You stay on your side and I'm on mine, exactly. Well,
thank you, dil Peck. Will have a great day y'all too.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Bye bye.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It's How Country are You? On the Spencer Grave Show? Derek,
where are you from? Awesome? Dude, you're playing How Country
are You? Today? Maybe you're new to the Spencer Grave Show.
Let me share with everybody how it works. Derek's gonna
get three questions. We'll give him a country score, but
we want to know how you feel about being country.
So on a scale of one to country, how country
are you? I'll say I'm a seven seven today. We'll
(14:06):
give you a score at the end. Blair, do you
believe a seven or no?
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I believe it's going to be a little bit higher.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Interesting, all right, buddy, First question, right out of the box,
who is this I'm nicely DoD no hesitation, Judd. All right,
so far, so good. He got question number one, but
question number two might throw him off. Share with us
(14:37):
what happened when you saw an X for the first time?
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Saw it?
Speaker 1 (14:43):
What an X? An ex? Girlfriend? Boyfriend? We don't judge.
Speaker 7 (14:47):
Oh, I saw an X for the first time.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
Is this in a country song?
Speaker 1 (14:52):
It's in your world? It might be your country song. Uh,
you got a little red face, little embarrassed? Okay, all right?
Was that because of something you had done and that's
why they became the X? Or sure? What happened?
Speaker 3 (15:08):
He's like, we'll go with that.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
I'm gonna keep that one under my vest, all right, buddy.
Final question on how country are you? What's the most
redneck way to remove a stump.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
With a chain and a tire? Yes?
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yeah, I done it before.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Oh finally absolutely. I was so worried that Derek was
gonna go, well, you got to burn it, because, yeah,
burning a stump does work, but there's nothing better than
putting that chain around that stump, taking a tire and
putting the chain over the tire, hooking it to the
back of the truck, and then yanking it.
Speaker 5 (15:48):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Oh, it's the best A seven. Yes, lower than it
should have been. You're an eight point nine eight point nine.
He's gonna be hanging out with us Friday night for
Jason al Dean at the co Cola Amphitheater. This morning,
when I walk into the studio, JT pops his head
in like he does most mornings, and he says, hey, man,
how are you? And I said good, Are you going
to go get some coffee? I'll walk with you over
(16:11):
to the kitchen and he's like, I'm not really drinking
that coffee anymore.
Speaker 8 (16:15):
Yeah, yeah, I was starting to rip my gut apart.
I don't know if it's the coffee sitting in the
cuig that's probably fourteen months old since it, you know,
left the warehouse and finally got to my cup, or
if I'm just bringing my own coffee in from home
i make it every morning, or if it's the water
that's going through the refrigerator filter that's you know what's
wrong with the water, well, you know, a refrigerator. All right,
here's the deal. I got educated on water issues a
(16:38):
few years ago when I had a water you know
company come into my house and put in a water
filtration system, you know, softer water for showering, and purified
water right there next to your sink, the little small
faucet next to the bigger frost.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
They got you.
Speaker 8 (16:52):
Okay, Well, I got to tell you. He educated me
on water. He did water testing on you know, the
water that comes through my house from the from the city,
and it's pretty decent good. But then he said, you know,
look at bottled water. And I said, what's wrong with
bottle water? He goes, how long do you think it's
been sitting in a warehouse where it's one hundred and
ten degrees and you got microplastics? And I'm like, okay,
all right, you got me off that. And I said,
(17:13):
I got to filter. And my refrigerator says, hm, let
me tell you about that. Do you change it every
thirty days? I said, what a fifty bucks at home depot? No,
he says, well, after thirty days, those filters, sure they work.
They take the sludge out of the water. But now
you're drinking the water that's going through the sludge. So
you're better off actually drinking tap water than you are
filtered water from a refrigerator.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
So he's telling me this while I'm getting ready to
fill up my water. I got to the point where
I was just like, you know what, I'm from the eighties,
I'm from the South. I'm no, I'm not a prima donna.
I will drink out of a hose in the backyard.
I immediately went over to the sink and filled it up.
And I can tell you this water tastes like dirt.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Okay, I'm concerned for me, so I have never ever
ever trusted the water through the refrigerator.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
I'm a girl. You cannot get me.
Speaker 5 (18:04):
I don't like.
Speaker 8 (18:05):
No, I'm with her.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
I'm with her.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
I just know I never like even as a small kid,
I wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
How do you get water in your house?
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Then?
Speaker 2 (18:14):
So Steve and I we boy, which now I've got
to rethink this.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Thank you JT.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
The massive like one gallon bottles of water from Walmart?
What we literally have those delivered to our house because
I won't drink the refrigerator water.
Speaker 8 (18:31):
I hope your brain likes microplastics.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Well, you guys, tell me that's why I am the
way that I am.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
This is all making sin.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
You guys are both so bougie. No, no, no, no, no, we're.
Speaker 8 (18:44):
Even as soon as you get off the air today,
you need to look up and call a company and say, look,
I got to talk to you and have them come
to your house. And next thing you know, you're going
to change people's lives because they've agreed to talk with
you about can you be our spokesperson for this and
get people's lives clean up with pure water?
Speaker 6 (19:01):
All right?
Speaker 3 (19:01):
Thought I was doing the right thing.
Speaker 1 (19:03):
Are there things that friends have told you and then
it scared you to where you gave up on that stuff.
You're like, I'm not going to get into this water.
After JT just went down this conspiracy theory that he.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Did plastic water in here.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Nah eight five five graves zero. This morning I saw JT.
Said hi to him this morning I can normally do.
Asked him if he was going to go get coffee
and he's like, nah, I'm making coffee at home. It's
messing with my stomach when I drink it here. So
I was like, oh, that's a coffee person problem, you know, Blair.
I've never had coffee, so to me, I was like, okay,
not my worry. But then he started going in on
(19:41):
water and how water out of the fridge is bad
for you because it's going through a filter, and if
you don't change the filter, it's going through sludge. And
I'm like, that's plausible. But then he starts talking about
how the water out of the pipes has got this
in it, and then when you have these bottles of
water and if you don't get it in this type
of container and if it's not alkaline. Ly he went
crazy on me. I tried some water this morning, Derek
(20:05):
eight five five grave zero. It changed the way that
the water tastes. I know it.
Speaker 6 (20:10):
You almost can't like unsee that if you will, or
like untasted, I don't know if you start looking for it.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
That's the thing. It's like, I was good with drinking
water that tasted like dirt that had been in there
for months. I was fine with that. I felt like,
that's just the water, right. And now every time I
think about water, like when I go to a restaurant,
I sit down and they put water in my glass
and it just tastes a little weird. I'm gonna go
JT was right all things, but then he goes Derek.
(20:40):
He goes wild, and he starts talking about how you
shouldn't drink bottled water because of the microplastics and the
BPA and all the and I'm sitting there, going, how
do I get water into my belly. I knew this
cat in college that would set out water bottles for three.
Speaker 8 (20:55):
Days because of whatever it evaporated and all the things,
and I'm healthier.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
And I was like, I'm just not.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Going to do that. That doesn't sound right to me.
Setting bottles out so they evaporate and then it's healthier.
That just doesn't make sense.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
I don't know, I don't Yeah, people are crazy.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
It's like I was not concerned about the bottle of
water that I had sitting in my truck that has
been beat on by the sun for the last two
and a half months, that I just saw. But when
I noticed it, I went, you know what, I'm going
to try that water. And sure, does it taste a
little different. Yes. But now I've got JT thinking that
I'm going to die, well, you know
Speaker 2 (21:31):
Die, or like he told me, he's saving lives, he's
ruining mine.
